I read a fanfic a while ago and it mentioned this as a possible match, so I just wonder: Who would win?
On first thought I'd say Gaara because he's strong and difficult to beat but Shino isn't to easy to handle either and you should really watch out for his bugs.
So I'd say Gaara would win if he could trap Shino with his sand and kill him before his bugs can do any damage.
But if Shino manages to avoid the sand long enough the bugs can sneak up on Gaara and drain him of chakra.
What do you think?

I think tie!Why?Well becouse knowing those two they woudent stop fighting unril they blank out.Shino's pretty tricky when it comes to fighting, and Garra well/..What more can I say?

I don't think Gaara would give Shino time to use his bugs.
Gaara saw Shino fight in the Chuunin prelims, so he does know about the bugs.

Yeah, but can the sand protect Gaara from the tricky little bugs? They are very small you know and Shino is tricky. I think it's not impossible for him to win if he just can avoid the sand.

That's a hard question, cause you really don't see Shino fight as much so you can't really judge how strong and weak he is. Then there is Gaara who has thee almighty sand. But then Shino can control the microscopic buggies....

That is a hard one, methinks I'm stumped. They both have fantastic close and long distance attacks. When does the fight take place? Gaara changes so much throughout the series that it's hard to say without knowing what frame of mind he's in.

Gaara would win, Shino is tricky but he doesn't move around much so he would be squished into nothing by the time his little critters make their move.

Neither would win.
Shino would be too busy Doggy-ing it with Kiba, and Gaara would be distracted by his Harem of Fanmen.

Thinking Logically, Shino would win. Yes, Gaara pwns and all. But Shino's poisonous bugs would be able to burrow past Gaara's protective sand barrier and deliver a vicious bite, would they not

Gaara beat Kimi-kun blaugh , who was really strong, plus, even tho Shino is strong and really smart, Gaara wouldnt let little buggies through his sand sheild... surprised
