Edward heard what she said and smiled. When he didn’t hear her following him, he slowed his pace then came to a stop. Did he want her to follow him? He had been alone for a while now, and I guess the silence kind of had gotten to him. He was always searching. For what, he did not know. Closing his eyes he sighed. Opening them, he turned back to her. “Do you want to come with me?” He called back.

She watched him walk away before shifting to turn back the way she was going. As she was going to start walking, she heard his voice call out to her. Blinking, she looked behind her. "A-are you sure? I don't want to be a bother."

Looking at her, he nodded. “But only if you want to.” He didn’t know if she would. She probably didn’t like him to much. If she didn’t want to come with him, he was sure he could survive. The feeling was growing stronger as he continued down the path. As he thought about it more, she could probably help him find it and make it go away. He was tired of searching.

Charlamagne smiled softly as she turned around in the direction he was walking. With that, she started into a trot to catch up with him. Once at his side, she nickered softly. "Thank you... for not being upset with me for earlier."

He blew out a puff of air, and shook his head. Looking at her, but still keeping a steady gait, he said, “And thank you for coming with me even though I was” he rolled his eyes slightly, “rude. So I guess, thanks for not getting mad.”

She shook her head and smiled at him. "You're welcome. It takes a lot for me to get mad at people really." She told him, trotting along side of him. She was quite happy that she didn't have to really push herself to keep up with him, like she did with many of the longer legged soquili she's met. Looking ahead of her, she couldn't help being curious again. "So, where are you heading exactly?"

She had no trouble keeping pace with him he noted absentmindedly. Hearing her question he turned to look at her. Would now be a good time to let her know that he had no idea where he was going? “Um, I don’t really know. I have kind of just been wondering everywhere. I feel like I am searching for something. I just don’t know what it is quite yet.” He smiled sheepishly. Maybe she would leave now, she probably thought him a little strange.

Charl blicked a bit curiously when he had told him that he didn't know where he was heading exactly. She just shrugged it off, seeing it as no big deal since she did that often. "Ah, I see. Well, the lake is up ahead, perhaps that's what you're looking for." She said cheerfully, before adding a thought, "unless you're searching for someone rather than something."

Ed shrugged. “I might be. I have no idea of knowing.” He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Maybe the lake will help. I won’t know till I get there.” The feeling was coming back, an ache in his chest. He was sure that if he stopped and turned around it would get worse. Not that he would try it or anything like that. So, I guess this means I am going the right way? He wondered.

She continued to trot beside him, glancing from him to ahead of her every now and then, though she mostly kept her attention straight ahead. "Hmm... perhaps it will. I hope it does... it will be a shame if it didn't and you came all this way too." She told him with a slight frown, but she quickly shook it off. "But I'm sure you'll find it soon."

“I hope so. The good in thing in all this is that if I was going the wrong way, but I don’t think I am, I would have at least met an awesome new friend.” He had a small smirk on his face. He was happy that he now had someone to talk to on his search for the unknown.
It was odd though, seeing as he was so used to being by himself most of the time, and he wasn’t used to knowing that now someone was actually talking to him, and traveling with him. But who cares, I haven’t drove her away yet, and I’m being civil. If I didn’t know any better, I would say it makes me calmer with her being around. He thought and then huffed at the thought, gazing at the road in front of him.

Strangely, at his words, her cheeks grew warm in a flush. Trying to pull it off so that he didn't see them, she looked away as if something had caught her eye before replying. "Well, that's good. A friend is always a great thing to have."
Once she was sure the color had left her face, she returned her gaze to him to smile lightly at him. Her green eyes then looked ahead of them to see the lake slowly coming into view behind a small bend in the path.

He had a small grin on his face, “Yeah. I see now why people have friends and try to keep them.” The lake was coming up; he could here the water moving, small waves hitting upon the land. Would she have to leave? Id she have somewhere else to go?
Looking out of eh corner of his eye at her, she was smiling. How was he going to ask her to come with him for just a little while longer? Could he just ask her, or would that seem rude. Crap, he thought. For some reason, he didn’t want to be uncomfortable with her, which he was sure this silence was.

Hearing his words, she blinked and looked back to him. "You mean... you never had any friends before now?" She couldn't understand how this could be. Unless he was some horrible, despisable person that no one could stand to be around, he should have some friends and she didn't believe him to be so bad.
After walking a few more feet, they finally reached the lake. The sun's rays reflected and shimmered over the lake's surface, a small breeze causing a few ripples as well. She had always loved the lake, it was truely beautiful.

He shook his head. “I have had friends its just that I travel a lot. Its just kind of hard to keep in touch when you leave the day after you just met them, ya know?” He had a wry smile on his face, and he was looking down at the ground, watching his hooves take steps upon the earth.
Lifting his head, he looked at the lake that was coming into view. It was quite a serene place, a perfect place to just sit and relax. What to do now. She had walked with him to the lake, and so now what?
