Reference: Rylenn is Expelled.A Journal Entry I found out that Rylenn was expelled today. The boy stared at the words he had written, the slowly dawning expression on his face that of both stricken grief and horror. Brown eyes were too large, unblinking as he focused on the name. Rylenn. His only friend...the only one who had ever made the effort. Rylenn, who had saved him from the mall girls. Rylenn, who had accepted RuiZhi as he was, no strings attached. Rylenn, who taught his older brother how to love.
Something splattered on the journal, making the words become fuzzy and fade. RuiZhi blinked; another tear fell from his eyes, splashing on the clean paper. The boy slowly took off his glasses, his lips pulling back to show his teeth as a sob escaped him, his eyebrows furrowing in such profound sadness as more tears fell from his dark eyes. He covered his mouth with his hand, but the wracking sobs kept coming, and the tears did not cease. Rylenn was...gone.
RuiZhi buried his face into his hands, and cried.

This essay is written in English. Quest RP o3/o3 - 10/10 Credits01.17.2022
Reference: Essay PromptQuote: Internal Circulation of "Chi"
In this course we have covered the human body in both scientific and magical terms. From acupuncture to mana conduction, our living constructs are complicated things.
Keeping this in mind, research more deeply the Chinese concept of “chi”* and how it can be relative to mana flows. How do you suppose this can be utilized in the future to help humans learn magic? Be as specific as possible.
Credit earned: 3 This essay is written in English.
To understand how chi - or qi - can be relative to mana flow, one must understand chi and its principles. Vitals as important as health and energy, as well as influence such as luck and wealth, are all taken into the retention and release of chi. The art of Feng Shui can help direct this release, by redirection or increased movement of it in a space, thus affecting each person within its reach. Similarly, the practice of massaging, acupuncture and martial arts are said to control and cleanse the very flow of chi in the body. This is important to remember as we delve into the thesis of this essay.
Meditation is key in the human's ability to exercise control over this mystical and abundant ability. The ability to use breathing exercises and relaxation techniques often help in 'feeling' the chi develop in one's body; this is tied in with sensations of warmth, tingling and heaviness in the limbs and stomach. Practice aids for the mastery of this feeling, as well as the ability to invoke it at will. This lends to enhanced touch, balance and coordination. Those with the most chronological history of magic use are no strangers to these practices, meditating and using techniques not unlike yoga for such means.
The elven Cleric Heru Irame Ameanosse once told me of what it feels like to 'cast magic.' She reported that the feeling was like 'a build up in the pit of [one's] stomach,' which 'spreads to the rest [of your body] very quickly'; it might be of interest to note that different magics are associated with different sensations. Heru Ameanosse also spoke of feeling heat when drawing from a spell aligned with fire, and an association of warmth (like comfort) from a spell of light. These feelings are often concentrated in the point of release - if a spell is cast from the hands, the sensation will be felt there; if it requires a conduit, one will feel the release of the energy into said conduit, dependant on where the contact may be. Such release of energy can be felt by those near by (much like the aforementioned use of Feng Shui), with reports of goosebumps or having their 'hair stand on end' being most common.
Many of these experiences can be tied with the sensation of chi and controlling the flow of it. One could theorize that the mana flow is directly linked to the flow of chi, and that learning to release the chi or retain it properly is much like the result of magic and the energies associated with it. Humans aren't incapable of magic, but their understanding and practice of it is severely limited by a lack of respect and consideration. One must have a controlled mind and spirit to direct the flow of mana; only then will we truly know where our knowledge and lack thereof find a common path.

Upon finishing signing his elegant name on a student application, the cheerful advisor hummed while flipped to another paperwork (although the headmaster told him about the computer system, the good advisor decided to follow the traditional way, as he was taught like so since he was young). Herei raised an eyebrow just slightly to see the familiar name that caught his eyes on the application.
RuiZhi Tai...?
Herei smiled and remembered talking to the little Chinese kiddo when he was just entering the school. Look at him now, all grown up and ready to go to the next level! The advisor flipped through the application with a degree of excitement, happy for RuiZhi himself. He paused, however, at the extracurricular activity section; his smile fading just a tiny bit.
Hmmm...this will require some explanation.
Herei shook his head, and wrote down the following prompt on the personal statement section: Quote: -insert growth quest here-
