((No, it's fine, I just needed some time to think. ^_^ ))

One moment, Veive was mildly amazed at her ability to walk on the water like in her dream, and the next she felt solid earth beneath her feet and a loss inside of her at being so suddendly seperated from the water. A light had enveloped her in that instant and, out of reflex, she had closed her eyes tight against it. As she blinked them open again she realised that they were somewhere very dark...but she could hear water. Looking around, she felt the stone beneath her feet and stone wall against her back. A sudden realisation dawned on her that they had to be in the cave where Ice's house was...but much further back inside then she had ever ventured. How had they gotten here?!

Veive turned her head and strained her eyes against the darkness to see Ayame, who she could still feel holding on to her wrist. Concentrating, she attemtpted to quickly dry off the girl, starting with her wings, as she unconsiously thought about which way the waterfall, and inevitably, the exit was."How did we get here....?" she absently mused, amazed by the translocation. Had it been her or Ayame that had done this?

Ayame stared into the darkness, the only proof that Veive was still there being the girls wrist in her hand. Where was she...she coughed again as the last of the water worked it's way out. not in the lake anymore....and Veive was still with her....Veive had saved her...yes, that much was right and made sense...

"Where are we...Veive..." She shivered, the cave was cold....and her soaking clothing wasn't helping much, though she couldd feel the water coming off her wings as something..Veive's? pulled it off in small amounts. Slowly, thankfully, she could feel them drying off.

Veive finished drying off Ayame's wings and moved her thoughts to the rest of the girl, like her hair and clothing. "I think we're in the cave...the one I was telling you that Ice has her house in." Turning her head back and forth slowly, she twisted her ears trying to get a better sense of direction. It was really too bad Anala wasn't here seeing as she had come by fire attributes. Zoning in on the sound of the water fall she waited for Ayame to finish coughing. "I think I've dried off as best I can...but my house is this way...I think." The las part was said slightly under her breath as she started to move to the right, gently pulling Ayame with her.

Ayame trodded along behind Veive, thoroughly confused, she discovered, as her fear ebbed thanks to the distance from the lake as well as the rescue. But she knew, she could feel the remenants of it all now...that somehow this was her fault, if fault could be blamed on reappearing somewhere safely away from the threat of drowning, despite rescue....and Veive had come with her....was that her fault too?

She shook her head to clear her thoughts, and nearly immediately an idea dawned on her. She hadn't been sure when it happened back when Aure[oh Aure....She really wanted to see the girl again sometime!] but maybe....She focused a little on what she had felt before, trying mainly to feel happier about her current situation, and to her pleasure began to emit a soft glow that steadily grew brighter.

Maybe this would help Veive a little in this maze feeling cave, though what she said signified this was, in fact, her home.

"Thank you...again...Veive. Wet clothes no'so bad as wet wings...Can you find home now?"

She felt nervous in the damp near dark, though the glow and Veive's presence comforted her, and the trauma of her experience in the lake was thinning quickly, it's short span of time enough for her little mind to dismiss it.

Veive jumped slightly as light emmited from Ayame before relaxing and looking at her with wide eyes. This girl was definatly interesting. She hadn't met any other illusions yet that were in control of any elemental powers...well, besides herself...so it was a little weird.

"It's okay. We probably shouldn't have been playing so close to the water anyways. It can be dangerous." Moving on, they came to a bend and as they turned it, the cabin and the waterfall came into view. They were still very far back but at least they could see their destination now. "And that would be home."

As they walked she thought about herself calling the water dangerous. She should know that better to anyone yet it didn't scare her anymore. It was weird to fear something for so long and then be so closely aligned with it that it becomes a part of you. Looking at Ayame she wondered if that had happened to her. Had she done something wrong that involved light in her other life?

Of course water wasn't a great thing, especially when you fell in a lake, though inwardly she was determined to not let it discourage her, as Veive had shown her water wasn't all that bad...you just couldn't get all the way in it or things went bad... The thoughts passed quietly through her mind before Veive pointed out the cabin. But why had Veive said....

"Home sounds good." She looked on longingly at the cabin, hoping if she did get asked in it would be comfortable and all the wet feeling would be gone, or she could find a way to change at least. That thought led to another, Did Veive have a talk thingy? Lavi had shown her how to use it, 'just in case' she had said. this must be why, she would hate trodding home soggy... Veive might not have anything dry she could use...no point worrying, once they got to the cabin she could figure out what to do. If she had to walk home after they got there, she'd get changed once she got home and just draw for ages to forget the feeling.

Ayame caught Veive looking down at her funny and returned the stare with curious and confused eyes. What is it, she wanted to say, but she just stared, mouth moving without words as she wondered what the girl was thinking about. It couldn't be her glow...could it? Veive had certainly jumped but it didn't take long for her to recover from hit... Finally she found her tongue and stopped her horrible mimicry of a fish to replace it with words.

"What is it Veive?"

Veive shook her head slowly and smiled, although it was forced. "It's nothing Ayame. I was just...thinking about what your past must have been like to be able to control the element of light." A sagely kind of look entered her eyes as she talked, looking and sounding much older then an average toddler. These were the kinds of thoughts that tormented her, not the usual thoughts of coloring books and play things. Smiling, for real this time, she started to walk towards teh cabin again before Ayame could respond. She may wonder and guess but she wasn't sure if she wanted to know. Some things were better left unspoken.

As she neared the structure, she could see Ice just inside one of the windows. "Ice is home. She's my guardian. I bet she can dry you off!!" All the toddler cheerfullness had returned to her and the wisened look had passed.

Ayame grew quiet at the mention of her past...Now that she thought about it...Veive had been there when she had been reunited with her twin...but the attention she had offered the girl then was minimal, between the vision and her feelings at finding her sister. She had been there...it was only fair...but light? She felt confused, fluttering her wings in an attempt to fidget as she thought. She shrugged and went on to speak as they approached the cabin, wanting to try and share the experience, lessen her feeling of guilt in her gut. Yet, how much could she stand to say?

"My past...you met my sister...I killed her in my past..."

She hesitated going further, despite Tangia's continued existance here and the two getting back together joyfully, the thought of what she had done hurt, even knowing why she had and what the action had led to. She held back her tears and covered up her trembles by bringing her arm against her chest and hugging closer to Veive as if for warmth, as if she had been shivering. It would be good to get inside and dry now that they were there, and she wasn't sure if she could continue without being prompted to.

Ayame smiled weakly up at Veive, her new friend and rescuer. The smile held a little warmth and spoke more words then her silence did. She was lucky to have Veive as a friend, someone to play with, someone to keep her safe from water...she almost giggled at the last though, surprising herself at how quickly she had left her fear behind.

Veive stopped and looked at Ayame curiously. Killed? This little girl had been capable of murder in her last life? It didn't seem very possible but Veive wasn't surprised either. It seemed that most had some sort of dark past, and if they didn't then that illusion sometimes lacked the depth needed to form an interesting personality. At least to Veive.

Thinking back she nodded slowly. "The bunny illusion girl? Yeah, I was there...but you guys seemed so...I don't know, distracted that I just left. I didn't listen in or anything." She decided to leave it there with a kind smile. Sometimes it was hard to talk about things like that and she wasn't really the type to push others to do it. If she wanted to talk about it then Veive would listen but she wouldn't ask. The only question she really wanted to ask anyways was if she remembered how and why she had done it. Veive could remember why she had been exiled...stupid girl...but not really why she had been pushed to such an extreme. It really made no sense why she would risk so much for a little power. Patting Ayame on the head, she smiled and nodded to the house, walking on in silence.

Ice was moving around cleaning the cabin and saw the two figures standing outside, moving towards the cabin, and smilied. It seemed that Veive wasn't 100% anti-social after all.

Ayame nodded quietly in response and shivered in the damp air, clinging close to Veive's side as they approached the house's front door. "It okay...Tangia like you. We er twins." The little butterfly girl smiled meekly up at Veive.

Slowly she began to realize just how tired she was becoming, but she stifled a small yawn and looked up at Veive in question. smiling at her friend at the prospect of going inside.

"When I dried off can we get Lavi? I tired..." Ayame felt embarassed as she failed to stifle the second yawn just after she admitted to her weariness.

Veive smiled at the idea that other sets of siblings had somehow made it through to becom illusions but said nothing, grinning at Ayame and giggling slightly at her little yawn. "Uh huh. I'll tell Ice. She's probably going to want to dry you off anyways so I'll tell her then."

About then Ice opened the door and looked at the two little figures outside the door. Furrowing her brow, she ran to get a towl and came back to wrap it wround Ayame, careful of her wings. "What happened?"

Veive shrugged and looked off distantly. "This is Ayame. We we're playing down by the lake and she fell in, but I was able to pull her out." Veive saw Ice's skeptical look at her, obviously wondering why Veive was 100% dry and Ayame was still slightly damp, despite her drying efforts. Turning her attention back to Ice she tryed to talk about Ayame going home before any questions came up. "She said she's really tired now and wanted to go home."

Ayame nodded numbly, glad to have the towel about her. It had been a terribly long day. How often did one fall into a lake? Certainly not often enough to make up for it being her. She stayed quiet as she waited to find out if a phone was available, thankful that Lavi had taught her how those worked.

Her eyes explored the house slowly since her legs lacked the energy to allow her to consider doing it herself. It was an interesting place, and comfortable despite how it felt outside.

"Veive save me...then....we were outside house...heh heh..."

She laughed slightly then found herself yawning again, only to come out of the yawn and sneeze. She gave a weak embarassed smile and wiped her nose with the towel.

Ice just nodded and smiled at Ayame while flicking little glances in Veive's direction. They would have to talk about this later so she could get the details but for now, it was probably important to get this little girl home. Making sure the towel was fairly secure, Ice turned around and walked into the kitchen, taking the cell phone off it's charger and coming back out. She crouched down by Ayame and looked at the cell phone, unsure if the little girl wanted to tell her the number or if she wanted to dial it herself. "Do you want to call or tell me her number?" she said sweetly.

Veive remained silent, thinking about today's events. It had been a fairly eventful day in the last hour or so...but quiet otherwise. That, and the notion that ALL the other illusions in this world were annoying and been down graded to just most. She could deal with Ayame. Probably better once she grew a little more, but that was natural.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:13 am

"uh...here," she reached one hand into the towel and brought a small soggy card from her dress's one pocket and presented it to Ice. The numbers were barely legible now, even printed, but still stood out enough. "Lavi says this, " sneeze, "give to an adult if need help. Has momma's number," another little sneeze, followed by a funny face as it tickled her nose, "this work, right? My hands too cold to use it..." She set the wet card on Ice's knee and then rubbed her nose to try to get rid of the awful tickling sensation. This helped warm her hands slightly, but not enough that she could decide she'd be able to handle the phone, even though it was a little one, not like the one with a wire on the wall at home.

Veive was a good friend to have, and so close to her own home too. If she thought she had the energy to play more despite everything she might have tried to get in another game with the girl. she sighed and tugged the towel as tight as she could around her.

Ice nodded and took the card, squinting to read the blurred numbers. Standing up she dialed the number slowly, double checked it, then hit "Send" and waited for this girl, Lavi, to pick up.

Veive dug at the earth with one toe, lost in her own thoughts for the moment. Despite all her anti-social tendencies she found that she still wanted to play with Ayame a little. Maybe some other time...but she had had fun. Suddendly, a picture of Anala and Tangia appeared in her mind. They we're their twins, both sent to this world. Ayame had killed Tangia...had she killed Anala? No, that was impossible. Shaking her head she smiled at Ayame and helped her hold the towel closer while trying to concentrate on drying her hair. "Cold?"
