After Halloween
(Until next year~)
I'm surprised Halloween came and went so quickly! It was a lot of fun, to say the least. I ended up going as an angel - I originally was thinking of a witch or something, but my mother and father wouldn't let me. The angel was a nice costume too though! I had everything, from a white dress, to a halo, to a pair of small wings.
Though...those wings almost caught on fire from the torches during the night of the Halloween party. Aya-chan freaked when I mentioned this to her, and she and the other maids gave me a long lecture on how dangerous fire was, and how I should stay away from it. They're always so worried about me, since I...well, you know. Fall a lot.
Well...I guess it was my fault for being so careless. I was having so much fun talking with my friends that I didn't really notice how close my costume came to the flames until someone dragged me backwards. I'm very grateful to them, though! I almost became a flaming angel...
Halloween was fun this year, but next year...well, I may be a little too old for it, but I want to try going trick-or-treating. Or invite friends over to our mansion for a sleepover, or...well, all those things that commoners usually do.
Commoners just seem so...close to each other, you know? With us, it's always about status, allies, and money. Nearly everyone is always wearing a mask of some kind - always hiding their true thoughts and emotions, even when parents aren't around.
It's kind of sad - I wish I could show everything that they have my full trust, and I hope for theirs in return. What's the point of having wealth when you can't be yourself? We were born with these lifes - we never chose them. I wonder what we'd be like if we hadn't been born into these wealthy families?
...I don't know how the topic changed so drastically. Sorry Pink-chan!
[ Mitsuko paused at this point, to pat her diary - 'Pink-chan' - fondly. ]
...Well, I look forward to next Halloween. I should make plans in advance!
