I loved Gensoumaden Saiyuki in English, because it didn't sound bad. But then Geneon killed the voice acting with their dubbed version of Reload & Gunlock.
I watch Saiyuki in both Japanese and English, so yeah...I prefer reading subtitles than feeling blood come out of my ears.

Annonzi Unfortunately I'm not the fan some of you are. I like the english better than the japanese. Maybe its cause I'm lazy & don't wan to sit there reading the subs. *shrugs* I like the english too!! : D More so the Gensomaden than Reload/Gunlock. I haven't watched Reload/Gunlock in English...but I'm considering watching it sometime (because Mona Marshall does the voice of some kid in the 2nd DVD and I LURVE Mona!!)

I watched my very first saiyuki in english which was gensomaiden and fell in love with gojyo's voice and just how well the characters did so well together. but then i bought reload, and had been warned in advanced, and hated what they did to the english voices !!!! hakai sounds so whiney !!!!! it was all wrong so i listen to that one in japanese but requiem was fab since all the original guys from gensomaiden were back. and in about 2 weeks i'm going to meet the guy who does the voice of kougaiji at the local anime convention this year and it will be so fun !!! i plan on having him sign my dvd that has kougaiji on it.

I don't really have an opinion, because some of the voices make more sense in japanese, and in others I think the english voice is better... sweatdrop

I truly love both. I have seen the entire series first in Japanese then in English . I like the English only because i think the voice actors did a hell of a job at portraying the characters. I actually meet the voice of Goku, Greg Ayres, I adore him. But they both are full of talent and the show in general is fabulous!

obviously it is way better in Japanese. Once I tried it out in english dubb, and i couldnt watch it cuz the voices are so horrible. That is just not how Goku, Sanzo, etc sound.

Well I had a fabulous time at my very first anime convention in Seattle and it was so much fun !!!!!! My kids warned me about it and I just wasn't taking them seriousely enough I guess because I was like so overwhelmed and had a BLAST !!!! I met Vic Mignogna the voice of Kougagai and he is an awsome person !!!! I waited with my 7 yr old a my 21 yr old pregnant friend for 2 hrs for his autograph and he was so SWEET and got pics too !!!!
Most people were there because he does Ed from Full Metal Alchemist but not me but I might watch that one now too ! I am still a fan of both the sub and dub versions of Saiyuki though and I think I will just stay that way until they decide to fix the mistake they made with reload with Reload and Gunlock !!!!! Vic said they would have done it for free if they had only been asked !!!! but they weren't sad bummer Nite everyone !!!

obviously japanese , sounds beter are in character and sometimes they show aprts that they cut in english always loved the japanese

I dunno, i guess i prefer reading manga to watching animie.
this way you can imagine the voices of the characters yourself, and htey wont have a generalisation =] sweatdrop

I gues I like the english part more just for the fact that I hate reading subtitles and Greg Aryes (goku's voice) is one of my fav voice actors ever.
