I just got the game like a few days ago and it really good.It a lot diffrent from the other FF games but still good. The only problem I had with the game is that I beat the game in 10 hours. But I still have to get all the things I miss. And also I think Im starting to turn to a Vincent fangirl.

I hope to get my copy sometime soon. I am so excited. From what I read about it, the fighting style seems somewhat more like Devil May Cry... which is awesome as hell because I love Devil May Cry! I am going to have so much fun with it when I get it.

heart heart heart For Vincent Valentine. heart heart heart

I, too, have heard foul things about the game, but. I'll be giving it a shot. Though, to your "It's FF, it's got to be good comment", I feel the need to remind ye that X-2 was also an FF, and that blew. xD

I disagree with you there...

As for the DoC, I just went out and the store had one copy left...I had to run all the way home to get tax money to get it, but I was 2 minutes, just 2 stupid minutes, too late and the store closed....I have to go when they open tomorrow to get it now. stressed

Unlocking all the event viewer scenes takes a long time. 87 targets to be shot in twelve different chapters...

DOC is the perfect example of something being so popular that they can produce a peice of crap that has something to do with it, and make millions off of it.

Theres no way in hell that I'm buying that game. Vincent may be pretty, but if you have played a demo or seen the graphics of the actual gameplay, you will be dissapointed. They even messed up the Cannon of the origanal FF7. confused

Okay, so I rented it yesterday and I am SO pleased!
I was TOTALLY wrong about the graphics being crap, they're about the best ps2 graphics out there right now. The cutscenes are awesome, they're on par with Advent Children and the ingame graphics are pretty damned good too.
Its an asbolute blast to play. I was giggling and getting really into it, its so much fun.
The storyline is deep, it goes WAY into Vincent's past and what happened with him and Hojo and explains what Vincent really is.
The story, in essence, is mostly just an extension on the history of the FF7 universe, though.
It also goes back to locations from FF7 (you go to the ruins of the Shinra Mansion) in and around Midgar, it has most of the main characters from 7 (You play as Cait Sith in one part). It also brings back some enemies (you fight the lizard men things, as well as shinra guardbots)

The targeting system, along with Vincent being uber and the weapon customization along with the rarity of potions and the very small amount of them you can carry at one time (4 potions at a time and 2 hi-potions and with a max of 1 phoenix down) makes it a bit of a challenge in some parts.

If you HAVENT played all the way through FF7, the storyline will confuse the hell out of you, but luckily the game booklet has a quick summary in it.

The limit break is pretty wicked looking (but useless in some boss fights) and lasts for a decent amount of time.

The gameplay also varies a little, which is nice. It has a sniper mission, a turret mission, and as I said before, you play as Cait Sith in one part.

I havent gotten all the way through, but I think I'm about halfway, or close to. I played for maybe 4 hours today and I think I'm on chapter 6. Supposedly there are 12 chapters. So thats an issue, the game is really short and very easy.
It almost sounds like they didnt mean for you to spend too much time playing it, they just wanted you to have fun being Vincent and learn what happens next after Advent Children. It is, from what I get, an interactive story (there are a lot of cutscenes, but if you like the FF7 storyline its not hard to pay attention to, especially because the graphics are so pretty).

One thing that really bugs me about the game is that the movement is a little limited. Vincent has a double jump, but you cant even jump over waist-high railings. I think it'd make it more fun, especially since there doesnt seem to be much fall damage in the game, if any.

One thing that bugs me about what people have been saying about Dirge is that Square Enix is just milking the franchise for all its worth, and I believe the word 'garbage' was used.
The game isnt garbage, and you obviously havent played it.
As I said, if you dont like Final Fantasy, then you wont like the game. So if you dont like Final Fantasy in any way and are content to bash it until the cows come home, get the hell out of my thread.
If you're not going to offer any valid argument as to why the game is 'garbage,' that is.
And as for milking it, if thats what you want to call it, what would you do if you were in their position?
Its not like FF fans havent been asking for this sort of thing, either. Vincent especially has a lot of fans, and his past was also VERY vague in 7. There is a PERFECTLY good reason to make a game like Dirge of Cerberus. It gives the fans what they want, it clears some things up, and it continues the storyline.

So shut up.

Might be an interesting idea, but its got a few problems.
Only thing going for it is that Reno has a HUGE fanbase.

The style they'd most likely use would be something like DoC, so nothing groundbreaking there...not that DoC was.
And I think if Reno was to be a main character in a game the game would have to be about ALL of the Turks.

I've only seen video's of the game, and from those videos it looked...alright. But, you never know until you play it I guess.

bleh, i was a little disappointed with it to be completely honest, but I don't know whether it was the fact that my friend was playing before i got a chance to (which she isn't the best and it was a bit frustrating) or the fact that she did beat it, I don't know...It just wasn't as great as i thought it was going to be, i heard so much hype and i was a little disappointed with it. Like the gameplay was a lot like devil may cry, but i wasn't too impressed with it, and the fact that some of the "missions" or what ever were a smidgen random and seemed a little out of place for vincent. but that's just my opinion, what do i know?
