I was there for a month. Last year, at this time actually. My grandparents have lived there for about 30 years, and my mom and her siblings were born and raised there.

In Hokkaido it's very nice. But I haven't been to the really big cities like Tokyo or anything. Hokkaido is more rural than anything.

わああい!日本語に関係スレッドがあるってよかった!みんな、がんばろうぜ! オレの日本語は日本から帰国したあとちょっと少なくなちゃってるけど、もし何か質問あったら、どうぞきいてください! *coughs* Yeah, my Japanese sucks. I lived there for a little over a year, but I've forgotten so much of it. *whimpers* Thanks to Xesca for the tutorial! I'm glad to see so many people in this forum who either speak or are learning Japanese! If there's anything I can do to help, please lemme know! 一緒にがんばろうぜ! (Let's do our best!)
PS - if anyone needs a Japanese word program, I reccommend JWPce, works pretty well and it's free.

Did you take a Japanese or East Asian class in college? I'm trying to find some, but decent ones tend to be elusive.

Death T-2 Did you take a Japanese or East Asian class in college? I'm trying to find some, but decent ones tend to be elusive. Me? Yes, I'm an East Asian Studies major - because of all the crap politics at my school, we still don't have a Japanese major after all these years. *growls and waves a fist at the uncertainty of the post graduate EAS lifestyle-ness* Good luck with finding a class. If colleges in your area aren't offering any, try finding a local Berlitz center (though they are kind of pricey. >.<)
