I was hoping to join this guild, and i have an idea for a character and everything, but i can't think of a sort of realistic way for him to get on the island.
His job is to be a professional hunter or something similar, and i was hoping for his tricked onto the island to be somehow job-related.

Oh, I once again changed my mind. The missionary thing is open game. =D
Hm... He could have 'won vip hunting rights' on a 'old college friend's Private property' Or perhaps some 'big-shot hunting group' has asked him to join their club on the island?

maybe it was like a hunters convention or something, do they have them, like a showing of new tools and gear.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone. 'preciate it. Now if i could just join the guild. I sent a request to join about a week ago, and haven't received a response yet. What should I do?

I don't think you really need to join to start, as long as you've sent the join request, just put that note in your thread quest. They'll get round to it smile

Wait a sec. lemme get this straight. I don't have to be part of the guild to have a character? er, um...i knew that.
But do you have any idea how exactly to get a character on IoDM? If you do, tell me please!

From what I understand, First you have to get a official seal of approval on your charicture (Via quest thread) And you have to buy the serum/s you want. I guess you can buy them from various contests/raffels/auctions/etc.
And from what I understand, they're expensive.
As far as the art goes, I have no idea weather or not its somthing you buy or if it comes with the serum. I tried asking, but they deleated my post and never replied. neutral

The art comes with the serum. You can't buy it separate, unless you pay for concept art from non-staff, or win them in competitions smile But it won't be the 'official' art, if you get my drift. That's why it's expensive, you're paying for the art primarily.
So yeah, you have to get the official seal of approval but it doesn't automatically mean your character will get to the island, it just means that the owners believe your character is realistic and balanced. You can also look for other people who offers to do critiques.
Basically I see it as it'll take a minimum of 6 months to get there. (unless you win an auction when it comes round or a competition or something) Some people took almost a year. It just means you're dedicated and willing to wait for a spot so then you won't get onto the island, then disappear after a month or two.

How about someone offering money to Feral Labs in exchange for "kidnapping" a character and sending them to the island? Sort of like hiring a hitman, but instead of being killed you get exiled?

That's sort of what happened to Vasile, I believe. If I'm remembering correctly, his manager used some contacts to get rid of him. xd The real question would be, "Who would want your character to disappear, and why?"

I'm really surprised I haven't heard the extreme basis of my soon-to-be quest...coming by the island by coincidence, on your on sea/air vehicle. Moreau gets one dropped in his lap, without them destitute. I'll be posting my quest within a few days.
