June 16th Tonight I have dance class and won't be home until late. I put on my music for them, and showed them how to change hte track or turn it off, but I don't think Id was paying the least bit of attention. I pulled out some of their toys for them to play with, and showed them where they could find more and different toys to play with. They were both engrossed with their playthings when I left this morning. Id was pummelling the stuffed animals by repeatedly flying into them and laughing. Ego was trying to put a puzzel together, and was doing well enough for having no fingers and indeed no limbs. I'm already beginning to see the differences between them. They should have an interesting dynamic when they grow older. I only hope that they will be friends, for I've seen individuals with personalities like theirs become absolute enemies. I'd hate to have to seperate them or come home to fisticuffs. Time will tell.

June 18th This weekend has been full of get-together, errands and actually more relaxation than I had anticipated. Last night after Kathy's birthday party, I was dropped off at home, and had the evening to myself. When I came home both of the little Furies were fluttering about, wide awake and looking a little restless. I could tell that htey'd had an afternoon nap and were full of energy, so I played hide and seek with them for about an hour. But even though I had explained the rules, Id kept leaping out at me when he was suppose to be hiding, and somersaulting away through the air, giggling fiendishly. He's got a great sense of humour, that's for certain. Ego is quiet and well-behaved, but not shy, so far as I can tell. It isn't that he holds back, he just has a mature, quiet, deliberate manner in the way he does things. He takes everythig very seriously. He watches everything with those big eyes of his. It's a wonder I can get him to sleep at night for his curiosity. He had a good evening. We plyed, we read a little more, and we watched Mary Poppins together, although Id fell asleep during the "Feed the Birds" song. Today, we all slept in, and we had a bit of a stuffed-animal fight, tossing the plushies at each other. But that only lasted a few minutes before Id had tired himself out and Ego had gone to sulk in the corner for being soundly hit on the bean with a stuffed rabbit. So far this morning has been quiet. Ego has been working on his puzzle and Id has been dozing on the windowsill in the sun.

June 21st Well, the week ahead is going to be an action-packed one. I've got the Luminara studio open and filled with bustling artists and volunteers, work's 26th anniversary bash comes on friday, and friday is also the last dance class. In all this craziness I need to sit down and watch a film with Balo. So, I'm heading out today to buy Memoires of a Geisha, and I'll make corn on the cob and potatoes with chicken tonight. This will be the first movie I've shown to the little ones. I'm interested to see how they react. I suspect Id will get bored, and Ego will be absolutely fascinated with the picture displaying on the tv screen. For them to watch the movie, I'm going to have to get them to have a nap this afternoon so that they won't fall asleep before the flick ends. They're are far too cute when they sleep!

June 22nd Today we had a relaxing day. It was lvely weather outside, so I brought both of the boys into the living room and let them bask in the sunlight. Today was really the first day they talked with me. Ego had never spoken to me before, and Id had chattered fragmented words and nonsense, but nothing like this. It wasn't perfect speech, but it was easy enough to understand what they were saying. We talked for hours over tea and cookies. Nothing life changing, just puzzles they liked, and games they wanted to play, and music they didn't like. Id has somehow piced up the word, 'Hated' and was using it as often as he could, often to much contradiction and improper syntax. We had an early night tonight, as tomorrow is the big anniversary at the store, and It'll be a big and exciting day!

June 23rd Today was the store's 26th anniversary, and what a blast we had! The store was hopping, there were all sorts of great people around, demos going on and lots of yummies to sample. I brought home some of the left-over carrot cake for the little 'uns, and heavens did they make a mess and short work of that cake. ^^;; I have dance class tonight, my last class. i will miss class, and i really do wish we had been taught more than they entrusted us with. it was a beginner's class, though...so, i suppose it can't be helped. When i come home, we'll have some corn of the cob, and watch some simpsons. I'm looking forward to the weekend!

June 26th I had a busy weekend, full of crafting, staff party and socializing. I discovered that Ego really dislikes spicy dips, and that Id can't get enough of them, but dislikes sweet things. They both came in when I was working on the Cobweb costume for Luminara and were curious as to what I was doing. I showed them, and then donned the costume so that they could see the in-progress results. They were both entranced by all the hanging 'cobweb' pieces, and we spent the better part of twenty minutes trying to untangle them from the webbing. ^^;

June 27th Today at work I had a few things happen that made today (so far) exciting. First i finally got to finish with the damaged Purity items, and in the throws of the cleanup I cut my finger open on a piece of glass i couldn't see because it was within the citrus fluid. So, I'm typing sans 1 finger. When I showed Id he got really excitable and began to spin around, flying haphazardly. There was a lot of agitation in his mind, but not any clear thoughts, so I'm not sure what all he was thinking. Ego was much calmer about the entire thing, and I can already tell he's going to be the more level-headed of the two. The other thing that happened today was a possible connection for my writings...and I'd love to speak more about it now...but we're in the middle of computer maintenence and I've got to dash. More later, my lovlies...

June 28th Now, since I didn't get a chance too add the rest of my tale yesterday, due to Luminara studio and a few other things... Here's the rest now: One of my company's reps is a lady named Dorothy, who up until now I hadn't had the need to speak to. Thuus she did not know my name. When she heard it, she remarked that it was the same name that she had given to the main character in the novel she was writing, and thuus we got to talking about our stories and found they had a great deal of siimilarities and she proceeded to give me a lot of really good advice to try and get some credibility when looknig for an agent. so, between now and the time i finish polishing up the rough draft of my first novel, I'm going to start submitting articles to papers, short stories to amgazine and the like. I'm not really suure where to start looking for publications that woould accept my material, as it is a bit off the beaten path, but i'm going to start looking in earnest. I'm also gooing to attempt to read my 30 page short story at Anime Evoluution this Auugust, and have already read it to the boys, and they seemed to quite enjoy it, although Id cried at the end. Things may jsut be looking up for this starving artist...

July 3rd Well, we had a blast this weekend. First was Canada day. We watched the Fireworks from the window, which both of the boys seemed to love. We bought Maple Creme Cake and sobe since they're far too young to drink. When we went out to buy the cake we found, to our great delight that Drag Ball was in full swing (puns intended *bricked*) across the street from the Save-On foods. What could be better than watching a bunch of drag Queens and Dykes place soft ball on a hot Canada Day afternoon? Then, there was the Pride Parade. We got to march with Sexy (Youth Group), and they had some amazing musicians playing for the full hour of the parade route. We danced for that whole hour straight and at the end of it we were all so heat stroked. All three of us had blistering sun burns and atrocious headaches. I'm not sure which was worse, the headache i had, or the sound of those two complaining about their headaches. We had a cold bath and I slathered them with Aloe Vera. It looks like I got the worst of the burn. Id barely had a sunburn at all, and Ego had a considerable one, but my white skin was burnt to the point of blistering. It'll peel. We were so exhausted and sore from all the fun that we went to bed really early (9pm) and today we've spent the day relaxing. Id's been watching movies, and fluttering about the house, lazing now and again. Ego's still diligently working on his puzzle...and he's almsot finished it. I've been trying to catch up on commissions. It's a good day to relax.

July 6th I had two long and busy days at work, and only really returned home to crash and burn.... Today when i returned home, however i was a little worried because the usual bobbing winged-balls were not at the door to greet me. Odd. I walked deeper into the house, calling out their names alternately...and to my surprise heard, "He's watching TV...Has been for hours."At first i entered the living room without even thinking twice, as the voice sounded so familiar somehow. It wasn't until I saw Id, vegged out on the couch, a few empty bags of chips and cookies littered about him that I realized the voice I had heard was spoken aloud. "Id?" I asked. "Huh? ....what do you want?" I could tell he wasn't lsitening to me at all. "He's been like that to me for hours..." Said the dainty Ego as he walked past me peeling a Banana. And with that the pretty little furie walked back into his room and closed the door. I did a double take. I gaped. I stared. I must have looked rediculous...but I couldn't think of anything else to say. Finally I got my grips about me, and turned of the TV, much to Id's protesting and spitting. I called Ego out of his room, and he came reluctantly... "Look," I told them. "I'm still surprised to see you grown so quickly...What happened? what did you do today?" And then they began to tell me their stories...

July 6th: Id's Version I kinda stared at Taro blankly for a moment. so, he wanted to know what happened did he? "Weeeeeeeeell," I started off. "Y'see Taro, i was sitting here watching some saturday morning cartoons..." 'it isn't saturday' Ego interjected. "Never mind that part, they were cartoons of that kind...." I glared at him and continued with my narrative. "I was sitting here, watching the tube when i felt this warm breeze...almost as if the window had been left open... and i flew over to look, and there were these great big hairy aliens that grabbed me and squeezed me and stretched me til i looked like this. And then, they felt sooooo bad, they gave me some nifty clothes." There, that was my story, now could I have the remote back?

July 6th: Ego's Version "That is not what happened." I didn't raise my voice, and I wasn't really angry. But it was such a bold-faced lie, I couldn't just say nothing. I put my hand on Taro's arm, and realized how tiny I was in comparison to him. "What really happened was this: I woke up, but strangely later than usual. I went to fly up out of bed, and found myself moving so much faster and sharper than before that I actually bumped into the bunk bed and had to hang on. When I sorted myself out, I found my body had taken this appearance. When I rose to check on Id, I found him still fast asleep, but looking the way he does now." 'I wasn't sleeping! I was just resting my eyes!' Id shot at me, but I did my best to ignore him. He had been totally asleep. "I finished off my puzzle, and by the time I'd assembled it, Sleepy Head there got up. He didn't say a word to me, or anything, and just walked out here, plunked himself down and started watching TV."

July 30th: Id's Version "I'm boooored" I guess was whining. But really, there was nothing to do. Tarowas so busy with stuff in his life that he hadn't been playing with either of us at all. Sure he'd read to us sometimes, but that really wasn't the same, now was it? I'd pestered Ego a little, and that was good for a couple of laughs...but, well, it got old real fast. So, now what was I supposed to do? I wasn't allowed outside on my own, and when I'd tried to get out, I found that there was no way out. *grumble* "I wanna go and DO something!" I was shouting. I didn't care. Like there was anyone around to listen. "Be quiet!" It was Ego who spoke. His voice wasn't shouted, no - Ego never shouts - but his words were ice cold and demanding. Fine. there really was nothing to do.
Except slink off here in the corner and hope something exciting happens soon...

August 30th: Ego's Version I can't believe it has been a whole month! Taro has been pretty scarce and Id has been going insane. He broke three dshes, and tracked food all over the house. Recently he's taken to collecting spiders and putting them in my bed. I wouldn't mind so much if they at least were dead... I think I'll permenantly have cobwebs in my hair... I talked to Taro and he says that soon he'll let us out to play with some others like us. I'm a little apprehensive, but I think Id will benefit from the experience.
