Antigone, curious as ever, leaned towards the monster, though only just a little. She didn't want anything to be rotting off, she thought with a wrinkle of her nose. But the thing was far enough away for her to feel safe getting a closer look. "What an odd little thing," she said, tilting her head to one side, blinking large golden eyes passively.

Amelia had never met the boy who approached Grave as they walked down the path. His name was Ubel, it seemed and she smiled at him. "Hello, I'm Amelia," she introduced herself, pulling a chilly hand from her pocket to shake his. "It's nice to meet you. And no, we haven't seen anything too exciting---yet."
She grinned and kept walking, and she saw a glowing ball of light up ahead, wondering what it was. It was then that she got her explanation. "That's a monster!? I never would have guessed!" she exclaimed, looking to see the expressions on Grave and Ubel's faces. "I wouldn't want to come anywhere near one of those," she said, inching slightly away from the direction of the glowing orb. "Mutations? Lesions? Rotting? Yeah, stay away from that thing," she reminded herself out loud.

Ubel hesitated for just a moment, before smiling a bit more warmly and reaching out to shake her hand gently. "It's nice to meet you, Amelia," he whispered, before tucking his hands back into this pockets, shivering lightly and looking at the glowing ball again, chirping quietly. "I'm going to have so much to write down after this..."

Grave smiled at both Ubel and Amelia briefly, but his expression was dark. He muttered under his breath, "I would have thought that they'd keep something so dangerous out of our city. What are they thinking letting that thing float around near people's houses. What if you were asleep and it came in through the window or..." Grave trailed off his mutterings and huddled closer to his friends, clearly perturbed.

Aysel stared at the monster, subconciously taking a step toward it. An ether manifestation..how intriguing. She had to concentrate hard to tear her eyes from it, but shortly after, she wished she hadn't. Ahead, she spotted Ubel...once again with Grave. This brought a sigh from her, and she reluctantly sped a bit to join them, her blithe mood ruined by bitterness.

Elanin kept up with the group, keeping close to Nadyrr, and keeping her eyes sharp, if those little floating lights could kill you, what else out here could? She frowned as she felt a sudden jolt of fear run down her spine, and she kept glancing around the group of her fellow students, trying to find familiar faces. She didn't see many, and that bothered her a little, but she forced herself to relax, after all, the professors would make sure they didn't come to harm... Right?

"I guess they can't keep everything out, can they?" she offered as Grave muttered something about keeping monsters out of the city. "Just be sure to keep your windows closed," she said, giving Grave a playful nudge in the arm with her elbow.
She was pleased that Ubel wasn't afraid of her. He seemed like a nice guy as well...both of them were Academic Melancholy students, and she couldn't help but chuckle. "You Academics and your notes! I know, taking notes is a good thing, but enjoy yourselves while you can..." She gave Ubel a warm smile. "You've got cool hair," she commented, rather enjoying the beads that were woven in.
It was then that she noticed another girl scurry up behind them, looking as if she wanted to talk to Grave as well. My, someone here sure was popular, she thought, suddenly becoming a bit jealous. Grave certainly did have a lot of friends...

Lelaus I was gonna tell you that story about the student...and then I got sidetracked by Abrid and Rules and Hiisi.... Now, where was I?? oh, yes, I know...Padmir's Story Many years ago there was a young stage zero Empyrean named Padmir. She was a Choleric Kinesthetic, and her favourite subject was Beast traning. (This was before I was teaching it, of course) She borrowed all the books in the library that we have on monsters, beasts and familiars, and although she wasn't very good with reading, she copied out every picture painstakingly, over and over to memorize the beasts by how they looked.

Ubel bit his lip, then carefully moved to take hold of Grave's hand, smiling softly at him. "It's okay," he murmured soothingly, before he got a brief shiver, assuming that someone was approaching, turning his head to look directly at Aysel. "Aysel!" he chirped, smiling at her and wiggling his fingers for her to catch up, before he looked at Amelia with a smile. How strange it was to have so many people to talk to! "I enjoy myself with my notes," he told her, then paused and blushed a bit, reaching up to touch his beads. "Thank you..."
And once more, he was distracted, attention going to Lelaus as he began to tell a story, eyes widening slightly as he did his best to commit the words to memory.

Nadyrr smiled beneath the collar of his bulky sweater speaking with an excited quiet voice to Elanin, "do you think we are going to see any other sort of creatures out here?" His eyes darted around, "there is so much that we could discover." A hint of awe could be heard in his voice as he speaks in soft unintrusive tones.

Torrid's footsteps slowed and stopped, allowing other students to pass him as he waited for Grave and his group to catch up to where he was. He smiled to himself and chuckled. He's always got a gang. he thought, seeking him out as the other zeros milled about him.

Elanin turned her head quickly to Nadyrr and smiled. "I don't see why not," She said with a nod. "After all, if those Hiisi can get in here..." she waved her hand slowly trying to get her thought out, "Why can't other things?"
The Professor's voice snagged her attention away from her traveling companion and she looked up to the front of the group again and tried to pay attention to the story. It started nice enough...

Antigone shook her head then, and began to dig around in the pack she had slung over one shoulder. She breifly wished she had taken time to stp all her voracious studying- well, everything she did was voracious- to try and meet some new people. No matter, she mused to herself as she tugged out her notebook and scribbled down a few sentences in handwriting that even she had a hard time reading. She'd probably make friends soon enough.

Nadyrr also stopped his spontanous talking to listen to the story, he wondered how it ended. With the way the professor seemed to use it as a warning before he had a feeling it would have a sad ending.

Grave gave Ubel's hand a grateful squeeze. Grave didn't want to admit it, but he felt a little scared. Something in his chest felt tight, making it hard for him to breathe. The Hiisi had passed them by, so he knew it wasn't that. Grave just had...a bad feeling about this. He saw Torrid pause and wait for him and he smiled. Good, reliable, Torrid. Grave nudged Amelia and Ubel and pointed ahead with a gloved hand. "Look, it's my friend Torrid. Hello Torrid!" It was then that Ubel motioned for Aysel to join them and Grave obediently offered a polite smile, a wary response to her biting condemnations. He just hoped Aysel would be in a better mood than the last time he'd attempted to speak to her.
