Pretty In...
The three of them had gone out to pick up some clothing, it was one of those times where it should have been easy, to the store, in, find what wanted, out, and off to home. Orpheus was starting to understand though that where kids were concerned nothing was so simple as that. In fact the word 'simple' ceased to exist. The first problem of course being that the children with him lacked the normal shapes that would make cloths shopping easy. Terpsichore lacked legs in general so buying him pants, socks, and shoes were out of the question, not that he minded though as that saved him money, then there were shirts which worked just fine when Ter was calm, when he flared up though that was another story, the neckline of the shirt was a bit to tight for his hood. So after trying on a good half dozen shirts, and the snake seemed to be questioning the need for them as he didn't see the point in clothing, they were able to find tshirts that would fit so long as they were several sizes to big and Orpheus cut the neckline so that his son would fit in them even with his hood open. The other things they got him were a couple of button up shirts, they were easier to handle as Ter needed only to button them up as far as it felt comfortable. While Orpheus would have liked to have gotten all button up shirts Ter wanted the tshirts as they had pictures on them that he found amusing.
Ter did rather well with it, he stayed still and kept his hood down as he tried the stuff on, only twitching now and again when Orpheus picked out something that he didn't find to be that nice looking. He didn't want anything cute, anything dull, anything to plain. White button up shirts got the worst of his yellow eyed glares and were put back in exchange for blues or other colors.
Tossed in the cart at the end were a half dozen tshirts to be modified with a pair of scissors and three nicer, button ups of various colors.
It then came time for them to find clothing for Ligeia... who had seemed to have disapeared when the fight with Ter had begun. Orpheus set to searching the section of clothing they were in, expecting the owl child to be around. Maybe he'd gotten bored with the picking out of clothing for his younger brother and had gone off in search of his own cloths?
*****
Ligeia gave a happy screeing sound as he picked up a shirt, holding it up to his chest and then set it with the other things that he wanted, he couldn't try the shirts on as they currently were as his wings would be in. He'd found three shirts, two pair of pants, and two skirts. There were some socks that were soooo cute! Though he would have to modifie them as well. They were called 'toe socks', they were striped, and adorable. The tips of them would ahve to be removed though so that his talons didn't claw them up or ruin them.
"Ligiea?" The sound of his father's voice was quite... confused as he found his son in the girls section with a pile of clothing. He opened his mouth as if to tell him to put them back then tilted is head, watching the way that he fussed and preened in front of a mirror, as if seeing if the shirt that he picked up off of a rack would look good on him. It reminded him of something that Emer would do... he gave a sound as he realized that his son was acting like his daughter. It wasn't the first time as Ligeia had gone around one night in some of Emer's clothing... but... this was a lot different. This would involve him buying these cloths for the owl child.
"Ah! Look. Isn't it cute!" Ligeia said, oblivious to his father's confusion as he turned to show his father the blue shirt that had ribbons on the sleeves.
"Ahhh... it is... ermm..."
Ter coiled up along side his father looking over at Ligeia and flicked his tongue out, hissing.
Ligeia's dark eyes narrowed, "I didn't ask your advice! You can't even wear pants." He said, crossing his arms fluffing up.
The snake flared up some, hissing at him again shaking a hand at him. He couldn't care less about being unable to wear pants... most of the time. When Ligeia made it sound as if he were lacking though he found himself getting ticked off over it, feeling as if he had been insulted gravely by the owl. Orpheus gave a sigh laying one hand on Ter's head to keep him from lunging at his brother, "Ok, ok. Put your things in the cart ok?"
Ligeia gave a scree and his things were tossed in along with Ters', "Can I get some sandles too? I was looking at them and they have open toes so I can wear them with my feet the way they are!" He said, excited.
Orpheus nodded and the owl rushed off towards the shoe aisle, wings flapping along after him to move him along faster towards his destination, "Come on then Ter, lets follow your sister." He murmured, trailing after Ligeia.
Ter giggle-hissed at his father's words, looking into the cart. That made sense then, Ligeia was turning into a girl! Maybe it was something that birds did? Snake's shed their skin and birds turned into girls... Yes. Wait, did that mean Paxton would do the same thing? He found himself mildly disapointed in that idea. That his friend would turn into what Ligeia was...
He slithered to the cart and climbed into it, coiling up in the front of it instead of walking.
Sandles were choosen easily, a simple pair with wooden bottoms, ones that Ligeia wore comfortably. The things were checked out quickly both boys handed their bags so that they could carry them, excited over their new things. The owl more so then the snake but Ter seemed to get more excited as time went, as if his brother's feelings were infecting him.

Journal Entry 1Ter starred down at the papers in front of him, a 'journal' that he'd been given by his father to write in. Something that it seemed Ligeia did to since he knew his brother to have a similar book. He fiddled around with the pencil he held, chewing on it for a moment before giving the paper a look, what was it that he was supposed to write about? He blinked then a smile seemed to spread across his face, the bitten up pencil was lowered to the paper and... the most miraculous thing happened. Ter wrote. While it didn't seem that he could grasp the skills of speaking he'd figured at least this out. It was less so that he could go off writing journal entries or anything and more because it seemed to go hand in hand with reading. He was good at that, he'd learn from his father and could now successfully find any program he wanted to see in the TV guide and could read the sides of the DVDs so he could find the ones he wanted to watch. So long as he could do that there was nothing else he needed the skill for! So his hand moved and he wrote down the first things that came to mind: Journal My brother is turning into a girl. What else was there to write besides that? He knew that was what was happening, why else would a boy start to wear girls clothing? Why else would they want to wear such frilly things, such brightly colored things? Things that had ribbons! Ter shook his head and gave an angry hissing sound, slamming his journal closed. He waved it in the air. He had to save his brother from turning into a girl, had to make him stay as a boy so that he would have someone to play with! Girls weren't fun! ... Ok well Vivina was but that was a completely different thing all together! She started out as a girl to his knowlage it wasn't some spontaneous change, he didn't like such changes they irritated him for some reason! He lifted his head as he heard footsteps, turning when Ligeia walked into the room and Ter hurled his journal at him, narrowly missing and gave an angry sound, pointing at his brother then hissed again in a demanding sort of way. The owl blinked in shocked and took a step back away from the raging snake child, "H-huh?" Ter looked him over, good. He was wearing the boy cloths still, that meant he had time to save him from his change! He had to do that! Now! He coiled up and gave a lunge, tackling his brother and the owl went down in a flurry of feather, giving a long screeching sound that would wake the dead... and brought Orpheus rushing into the room, watching for a moment as Ter seemed to be berating his brother in the snake language about something, looking upset. It wasn't angry Orpheus realized it was some other sort of emotion, something deeper. He walked over to wrap his arms around the snake, picking him up off of Ligeia. "Now, now. Thats enough fighting you two." He said, letting Ter coil around him, patting his back soothingly before holding a hand out to Ligeia who took it so as to get back to his feet. "He attacked me for no reason!" He scree'd, glaring at his little brother. "There must be some reason." Orpheus said, looking to the snake child expectantly but only got a look. "He won't tell you, he never tells anyone, anything!" Ligeia said, fluffing up his wings, "He hates us and that is why he is like that!" He cried tears showing in his eyes as he spun around hopping over Vorel who'd appeared to see what was going on and ran down to his room with his dragon in pursuit. The door slammed after them and silence reigned before finally the snake child lifted a hand to point towards the journal that he'd thrown at his brother... Orpheus walked over to it, leaning down to pick it up and flipped open to the only page that had any writing on it, read it, reread it, then was quiet for a long while as he attempted to figure out how to explain this...

Journal So today was an interesting day now wasn't it? I've been trying to think on explaining Ligeia's actions to his brother but I find myself confused upon how to do that since I don't even much understand it myself. What is it that would cause a kid to want to dress in clothing that wasn't made for them? I don't want to tell the owl not to wear them as he's been working so hard on fixing them up so that they are wearable, removing the backs of the shirts so that his wings coudl go through, cutting the tips of the toe socks so he could wear them without his talons hurting them, and he had matched things up quite well. So who am I to tell him that he can't wear them after all that work? But Ter is so confused for some reason he got it in his head that Ligeia is turning into a girl and the fact that he is losing his brother seems to be making him rather angry, more so then usual. I guess this is something that we can't really avoid much longer. I am going to have to figure out how to explain this. And soon...

A Change at Getting Along...?
Orpheus turned to look away from his work and over to where Ter sat, coiled up in front of the TV watching his favorite DVD. He was spending his time between episodes pointedly ignoring his brother who was sitting on the couch working on his clothing. There was a little scree of happiness as he pulled a pair of striped toe socks on and held his foot up so that they could be seen, "Lookie!" Ligeia said, showing them off.
Vorel have a croon of approval, liking them for two reasons. The first of course being the fact that it was his partner that was wearing them so of course they had to be cool and the second reason being that the stripes were white, light blue, and dark blue so they made him see ice. He liked ice, the Frost Dragon lifted his head up to n** at the foot of his partner playfully making Ligeia squeal and giggle trying to get away from the tickling dragon.
Ter turned around to give Ligeia a dark look before reaching over to pick up the case of his DVD and chucked it at his brother. Orphues jumped to his feet opening his mouth to scold Ter for that when there was a 'CRACK' sound as Vorel snapped his jaws down on the case, crushing it in his jaws before it could hit the unsuspecting owl.
And there was a long drawn out silence.
It lasted for only a moment before Vorel spat the case out and turned his glare on Ter, the cobra child only met the dragon's dark look with one of his own. The two seemed to be caught up in their starring contest giving Ligeia plenty of time to sit up and wrap his arms around the dragon, hugging him tightly and pulled him back a step so that he was that much farther away from the child that he looked so tempted to tackle, "Shhhh, is ok Vorel." He said, laying his head on the dragon's head.
Ter blinked, seeming almost surprised that Ligeia had stopped his dragon, as if he expected for him to let the dragon eat him, "Hisss...?"
Ligeia looked up at him, then away, "Just cause you hate me doesn't mean I hate you." He muttered, it was quietly said but Orpheus caught it. From the look on his face it was certain that Ter had as well. He flailed his arms, hissed at his brother, then turned away. He didn't want to think about it, didn't want to talk to his brother about it, if he wanted to act all nice for the moment he could! Ter wasn't buying it! All it was was a ruse to draw him away from the fact that he was changing like he was. It was damn annoying, he didn't want a sister... Ok he wasn't the biggest fan of having a brother either but at least it was better to have an older brother then an older sister. Ligeia would just want to try to dress him up in all his girly cloths like what Ter had seen on Tv, he wouldn't have it.
"Terpsichore." Orpheus said, the tone making the snake jump before turning to look at his father, "Your brother is your brother and is going to be your brother. Just because he likes foofy clothing doesn't change that. He's still Ligeia."
Ligeia lifted his head looking more then a little confused, "Huh?"
Ter gave his brother a look as if he didn't quite believe his father, it was a trick.
"Terpsichore thinks that your choice in clothing means that you are turning into a girl." Orpheus said finally, deciding that leaving Ligeia in the dark about why Ter was in such a mood wasn't helping in the least.
The owl child's eyes got HUGE... then he started to giggle, loudly. Ter flailed his arms again, hissing at his brother before he lunged at him, tackling him. There was a poof of feathers as the owl was knocked down but it seemed that it wasn't so much a violent attack as it was a 'don't laugh' sort of action. Vorel took a step back, tail lashing as he watched the two children wrestling around, both laughing... and he jumped on top of them.
Orpheus lifted a hand to rub at his temples, laughing to himself as he watched the three of them.
And to think... soon there would be another dragon in the house. He was really gonna need to get a bigger place before then.

And This is How We Make Popcicles...
They were headed outside he knew that, though why owl child was carrying along a pitcher of koolaid with him was beyond the comprehension of Orpheus's mind. It had to be something of interested of else Ter wouldn't be following after them. He was curious about it too and there we went to figure out what they were up too. He wondered if he should go with them, figure out what it was that they were doing and if he should stop them or not... but then again it was just juice and the containers that they were carrying with them were made of plastic so... he really shouldn't worry about it should he? He sat back in his seat looking over his clip board for a moment, attempting his best to read over the notes he had for the up and coming classes... which lasted for only a few minutes before he could no longer resist the temptation that was figuring out what it was that his sons were up too. He had to know!
*****
Ter was coiled up to the side, out of the way as he'd been told to be watching a Ligeia set up the cups in front of his dragon. He had known that his brother and the dragon were up to something when he saw them gathering different dishes from the kitchen to put in a bag, knew they were up to something when they made the red juice and started to head out of the kitchen and off towards the door. After all how maybe people made juice then left with all of it without being up to something? So he'd fallen into step with them. Neither Ligeia nor his dragon had stopped him, not that he would have let them, and here they were.
Ligeia proceeded to fill each of them with koolaid to a certain line before putting a utensil in each. A fork in one, spoon in another, seven cups in total so that meant seven attempts at whatever it was that they were going to do. He then turned and motioned to Vorel to come over and get ready. The Frost Dragon instead scooted forward, lowering his head to sniff at a cup before he caught it in his teeth and tilted it back to drink the contents, staining the edges of his mouth a purple color from the red koolaid on his blue skin.
Make that six attempts at this...
"No, no Vorel! Don't drink it yet. Wait until after we are done ok? We talked about what it was that we were going to do remember?"
The dragon looked up from the empty cup to the other ones before his eyes widened a little in comprehension, nodding. Yes, yes he remembered now what it was that they were going to do! His tail started to lash in an excited manner, so much so that now Ter found himself that much more curious abotu what it was exactly that they were planning on doing. It had to be something interesting to get the dragon in such a state. He pushed up on his coils in an attempt to make himself taller so he could get a better view.
"Ok, try the first one." Ligeia said, stepping to the side so as to be out of the way. He knew that it wouldn't really affect him but just in case. The dragon drew a deep breath into his lungs and then expelled a cloud of fog over the cup. It seemed to be a bit to hard as the cup was knocked over and frozen securely to the ground by the juice that had spilled out of it, "Not to bad for a first try. Maybe this time if you hold onto the cup? It won't spill then."
Ter slithered a little bit closer so that they could see the aftermath of the dragon's breath and he gave a sound that said he was impressed. Normally he wouldn't let him or Ligeia know that he was impressed by something that they had done but this time... He clapped his hands together for Vorel. This seemed only to get the dragon that much more excited and he spat out some more of the freezing breath without doing as he as told by Ligeia. This time two cups of juice ended up frozen together. Not a bad try aside from that.
Ligeia laughed, "Didn't fall over this time but now they are stuck together. Three more tries Vorel."
The three of them, so tied up in the freezing of juice didn't notice that they had a new observer, Orpheus who was standing off to the side. He had had his arms crossed over his chest and a smile on his lips, "Having fun?"
Ligeia, Terpsichore, and Vorel all jumped before turning to look at him. The two kids smiled as Ter picked up the frozen together cups to show them off, "RED!" He cried happily.
Orpheus smiled brightly as he walked over to them, looking down at it, "Thats cool." He said, he was happier about the fact that Ter and Ligeia were getting along and playing together then the fact that Vorel could make popcicles. He took the cups from his son and looked them over. He then turend his gaze to Vorel who was licking at the frozen juice from the cup that had been spilled over.
"We learned in class that he was good with the icy breath so we wanted to try it out more." Ligeia explained but he didn't count the accident in the park since that wasn't planned. This was better, nothing got broken, it was a controled experiment, and he was quite pleased by the results, "We have three more cups to try." He told Orpheus, turning back to his dragon to ask him to try those ones out next... only to find that the juice was already gone from the, cups tipped over, "Vorel!"
"Seems like your dracling wanted the juice instead." Orpheus said, unable to hold in his laughter. It always was hard to get little ones to listen wasn't it?
"B-But..."
"You will get to try again another time. Come on, lets pick up the cups and head inside." He said, motioning to the three of them to get to picking up the mess. It didn't take them long before they were heading inside, a small patch of red ice left behind where they had been playing.

Trading Venom for PiercingsHe knew that he was no doubt already on the list for donating venom, he was gonna attempt to get something out of it though. He didn't just want to donate and get nothing if all of the others that did so were going to get a prize for it. So maybe if he filled out the form thing that his father had made up then he would get to have something as well? He knew exactly what he wanted too. He slithered his way over to where the place was set up just inside the door to the classroom. He picked up a pen to fill out the form: Your Name: Ter Solon Your Parent's Name: You Species: Cobra Commander Reward: two stud earrings He'd seen a picture that made him want to get his ears pierced in a certain point and to get the point across to his father without the words that he seemed to lack he would instead do it this way. He put the form in the 'done' box and then picked up one of the cups, writing his name on it with a marker before biting down on the lid, his venom dropping from his hollow fangs into the cup. He then set it with his form and moved off to wait for his father to find the venom and form with his request... ***** The snake was almost shocked by the fact that when he returned to check on progress there were in fact a set of earrings sitting there waiting for him. Pretty studs with red gems in them. He scooped them up and slithered off with them. Now he just had to see about getting his ears pierced.

Going Through Hell Again
No... No it was that feeling again... Ter jerked up so that he was sitting up, the world around him a bit blurry. He was blind... ish. Not this again, not this horrid shedding thing... He gave an angry hissing sound as he stummbled off the bed that he was curled up on and staggered for the door. He fell against the door, opened it up and yelled out of it, "RED!" He cried out, "RED!!!"
Orpheus jolted awake from the desk that he'd fallen asleep at. He'd almost fallen over when he heard the voice yelling at him. He blinked a couple of times before he started down the hall to the bedroom door at his boy was standing in. He knelt down in front of him, "Ter?" He murmured, reaching out to lay a hand on him. The redhead flinched as the boy jumped and bit him, Orpheus gave a wince and a hiss, "Hey, hey. Its alright kiddo." He told him, reaching out to stroke his hand down his son's face, "Its just me." He wrapped his arms around his son and pushed up to his feet with the snake child in his arms. The wound throbbed but that would be fine, he had the antivenom sitting on his desk for just such an occasion. He sat Ter on the couch, picked up a vial of the antivenom and drew up the needed amount into a syringe, he checked the instructions once more before sitting it into his leg, injecting it to reverse any effects that Ter's venom might have on him.
He then returned, a little wozzy but ok, to his son's side, "Ok. Now, tell me what is wrong." He told him.
Ter lifted his hand up to poke and scratch at his face in anger and Orpheus couldn't help but laugh at the reaction, "I see, shedding again huh?" He asked of him as he wrapped an arm around him, "Thats not such a bad thing is it? Your just having a growth spurt thats all. You remember last time you shed your skin?"
His answer was a sort of dejected sound, yes he remembered it. The only good part of it had been him getting to meet up with two people while he was suffering and they'd helped him to get over it and even feel a bit happy despite the annoying, itchy process that was him shedding his skin. He gave an angry hissing sound and then coiled up half in his father's lap complaining at him in the snake language that the red head regretted not knowing.
"You just need to rest, relax, and you will get passed this just like you did last time. Maybe if you don't go rushing off this time you will be better off? No more getting lost while blind." He leaned back against the couch, shifting a bit. There was a dull ache in his arm but at least he knew that the antivenom worked. Now he just wanted to rest up a bit, "I'm gonna sleep now I am still a little exhausted, you want to just camp out here with me?" He asked.
Ter gave a hissing reply, eyes closing behind the flim of skin that was over his eyes. Maybe he was right? Maybe if he just slept through it he wouldn't have to deal with this hell?

Growth Infos He'd been lucky enough to shed back enough of the skin that he was lossing so that he could see the work that was before him. A sheet of paper with a bunch of questions on it that he had to fill out, things about himself about his dragon that was to be born from the spiny egg he'd seen. The snake child gave a hissing sound as he filled in the info with a black pen he'd gotten off his father's desk. Then fetched some crayons so that he could then color the image at the top of the paper that was of his dragon's egg. When he was done with it the paper was left behind on his father's desk so that he could send it away when the redhead found it.
