Anetra_Pendragon I agree with Mek. Don't make things too big or complicated ^_^;; We don't need recreations of every Gaia forum inside OGAWG. not every one, but some of them would be nice xd xD

Hm... how about we also start to give some'ought (more than the gold we already pump into the artist community... XD) back to the artists?
As in- we choose a few "new" or 'unpopular' artists- who still have a lot of potential, and do a 'sponsor an artist' program- where we feature them for the month, say, and give members an opportunity to commission them, etc. ..I'm sure it could become quite an event- I don't know any artist who wouldn't like to be sponsored by a community of art whores-
And we'd get something out of it, too. We'd have a captive artist or two for a month. xd

I dig it.
Would be just be linking to an artists shop, or would there be like special prices/offers/slots/something for OGAWG members during the month they'r featured?
Cause if there's no exclusive prices/slots/whatevers, then I don't see any reason why we should limit it to only one artist per month. We could just go on a crazy linkfest.
But I like the former idea better.

I think there would be a specific shop set up in the Guild for the featured artist where only slots would be available for artwhores. Otherwise it's just like the advertising thread really.

Otherwise it's just like the advertising thread really. *nodnod* Exactly. ^_^ We essentially 'capture/sponsor' an artist for a month or so. ...Or whatever amt. of time we determine/they agree to. ^_^ But a month has a nice ring to it. That way, the shop can remain permanent within the guild- and only change details per month, as our 'sponsored artist(s)' differ.

*thinks hard* Well I like the guild is good as it is, only sometimes I wish everyone would credit the arts in 'picture post'. xd For my own sake but also for the artists.
Okay I don't have any funny ideas but I'm in if we're going to throw a joint auction and most other ideas sounds great. 3nodding
I like the ideas of gathering great artist in some way to share them. How great is'nt it when someone says 'Hey visit this cool shop' and it is exactly what you're looking for. heart
I think the guild need more advertising too. 3nodding We're a bit mysterious and undergroud as it is. ninja As soon as my damn computer works as it should I'm going to start taking request for whore banners and u guys better use them for linking to here or else. ninja

Ooh, I second the motion of coming out from the 'underground'. ^_^ Hold some sort of guild event out in the 'main' of Gaia, let people know we're out there.

It would be neat if we had a subforum where art whores could keep their own threads (1 ea.) about their collecting endevors, character information, etc. Just a place to keep organized and have all of your art related links, then that can be the link from the main list (and you can have all your info and links to all your stuff from there!)
I would be willing to help pay for said subforum as well as upkeep it.

Oh! Here's a thought. On the forums for the NWN servers I'd played on, we had two threads that were always a lot of fun. The Character Themesongs Thread, and the Casting Call thread.
In the character themesongs thread, you'd name songs/albums/artists that suited your characters, and nominate songs that you think suit other people's characters.
In the Casting Call thread, you'd nominate actors to play your characters, or the characters of others.
By nature they tend to start off with a lot of steam, but dwindle once everyone's posted. They're still a lot of fun though!

Lilithia A recommendation thread, if you commissioned an artist & got good reviews, post about their service there. biggrin [like suggesting to others - not exactly an advertising thing...] I just wanted to add a hurrah! for this idea - it occurred to me, too, just before when I posted in the just in thread. I don't know if "recommend" is the word, but it would also fall in with the rating system people have been discussing (except that negative remarks/posts should possibly be discouraged, lest we say the subject's name three times and they appear), I think. Maybe "review" is a better word? I'm not completely sure, but it would entail providing information on your "commissioning experience" i.e. relevant links (whether they're on Gaia or dA or ... wherever), whether or not the artist is currently accepting commissions, the amount of detail the artist required etc.

The review thread sounds really good as long as there's an anti-bashing rule.
RP is good too, I'm not sure how many of us would participate though. It'd be kind of hard to keep the flow with the different timezones and such.
