I like all magazines... Anime insider is ok, new type is good, but thy only give dvd's out to suscribers crying Shonen Jumps is good.

Yeah thats why i stoped buying. i cant stand it. its really unfair. i dont have the money to subcribe. *starts to cry* WHY!!!???

I get shonen jump and shojo beat. I enjoy them both although I do not like all of the stories that shonen jump has. I have every single issue. Whoo. ^^

Magazines usually only give out extras like DVD's to subscribers for two reasons.

1) It is an incentive ot subscribe
2) I have seen a lot of magazine packages ripped open for the extras. Stores nor magazine companies like this. Darn theves. Guess Im lucky I subscribe.

Shueisha Jump Magazine in Japan. Houses all my favorite manga (also the most popular manga in the world).
Runs weekly (one NEW chapter a week) in Japan. Then, after 10 chapters or so, they put out a volume, and so on. The chapters keep being published in the magazine until the series ends, then they have a contest for new manga-ka and publish another series in its place. But, the deadlines are very tight, because you have to finish a 20-page chapter a week, and no touching up when they are released in a volume! That's how your favorite manga come to the US (after they are given to the Europeans and tested).

The magazine CURRENTLY houses: One Piece, Eyeshield21, Bleach, Naruto, Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo, Gintama, Katekyou Hitman REBORN!, To-LOVE-Ru -Trouble, Hunter X Hunter, Maison de Penguin, Taizo Mote King Saga, Prince of Tennis, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo (Kochi Kame, for short)(This series is REALLY LONG - over 100 volumes!), Mx0, Mieru Hito, D.Gray-man, Fyuu to Puku Jaguar, Muhyo to Rouji, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Nazo no Murasame-kun, Tsugihagi Hyouryuu Sakka, and Beshari-gurashi.

The magazine HAS housed: Dragon Ball, Death Note, Shaman King (boring as hell), Ichigo 100%, Yu-Gi-Oh!, YuYu Hakusho, Fist of the North Star, Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac in US), Mr. Fullswing, Barefoot Gen, Black Cat, Busou Renkin, Rurouni Kenshin, Captain Tsubasa (not the CLAMP Tsubasa that every American "otaku" is crazy about - the really old soccer Tsubasa), Cat's Eye, City Hunter (really old), Claymore, Cowa!, Dr. Slump, Dragon Drive, DNA², Bremen, Gun Blaze West, Hareluya, Highschool! Kimen Gumi, Hikaru no Go, I"s, Hell Teacher Nube, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Kajika, Kinnikuman (M.U.S.C.L.E. in US), Legendz, Mazinger Z, Min Assassin, Neko Majin Z, Pretty Face, Sand Land, Slam Dunk, Soul Hunter, Video Girl Ai, Whistle!, Waq Waq, Yuuto, and Zombie Powder.

So... basically, it's the biggest and most strived for goal for Shonen manga-ka in Japan. Literally. I mean, the Naruto artist danced and jumped for joy and threw the magazine in the air when he saw that he had been accpted into the Jump circle.

Other info: The most prominent artist of JUMP is Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball author). He's the one whom all the Shonen artists admired when they were kids and still admire now.

I'm a SJ and SB subscriber (Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat, respectively).

I do enjoy GanGan though. Great Japanese mag.

It's so hard to keep up with everything sometimes. stressed

I haven't read any anime magazine for about a year now, so I don't know if any new ones came out. I still like Newtype though.
