While Chase had been answering her, and not keeping direct eye contact with her, he had noticed her gaze was not towards him and was instead towards her garden. While still nervous, he wondered what was going on in her mind and what she was thinking about. From what he could gather, she was a highly intelligent and kind person. Some possibilities in his mind were that she perhaps was going over her plants. Maybe even looking at the ones that fit the purpose he described. 'Though she could be thinking of something else entirely.' He thought, though pushed such things from his mind. He could ponder and worry about that kind of thing later, as he asked his next question and she turned to look at him this time. Meeting his eyes as she did. While it was very hard... Chase kept eye contact with her. It was at least possible with her unlike others. For a moment, he thought her blue-gray eyes looked pretty before he chastised himself for losing focus. After fully hearing him out, she would turn and look back to the gardens. Chase again wondering what was going through her mind, but decided to look around a bit more himself. There were many different plants of varying shapes, size, and color. While he knew a few, many he did not.

However, as he turned his head to look to an area he had not been facing earlier... he came face to face with Freya. He blinked a few times in surprise and froze. He had not heard not noticed the birds arrival, but apparently it had been here for at least some time since he didn't catch wing movement or landing. He was unsure of what to do as he also noticed she was intently staring at him. With a quick glance to Drac who still seemed lost in thought, he looked unsure to the bird. If he had been the more vocal sort, he may have asked aloud what she was doing. But he just kept that in his mind. Though a strange impulse came over him quite suddenly. 'Would it be rude to pet her? Would I even be allowed to?' He wondered and asked himself. He had no idea why the sudden desire came to mind... but he felt compelled enough to act on it. He very, very, slowly lifted his hand and had it approach overhead of her. He did not wish to startle her in the slightest while doing this, and felt if she did not desire it she would fly away. For some reason, she remained still as he very softly began to pet the top of her head with one finger. Ensuring he did not ruffle her feathers. Chase would smile softly at the bird's cooperation, a small yet genuine smile of joy.

It was around this time that Drac would turn back towards him and speak, while Chase continued to carefully pet Freya. The small smile still on his face. She consented, and told him he would learn as he cared for the garden. Chase felt a small surge of happiness at that. He was always the type that enjoyed learning as much as he could, and when it could be things that could determine life or death especially so. Despite how much he hated his father, he had to admit learning medicine beneath him was a great benefit. And it had not hampered his desire to learn more about it. He would then see her expression go serious as she continued speaking. She told him how his studies mattered most, but as long as he was here he was entrusted with the plant's care. He had been expecting the school focus, as was mentioned initially when he asked to help around here, but he was not expecting her level of trust. He had always intended to put school first, he had to for his own future. Plus he genuinely desired to learn, and needed the skills to survive in this world. She spoke sternly, and with good reason to as it emphaized the importance of the responsibility she was giving him... and that he was even being given it. 'Does she really... trust me that much...' He thought in genuine surprise. He would freeze for a few moments, unsure what to say or do. It felt like a lot of pressure was just added onto him. He took a deep steadying breath, and gently moved his hand away from Freya as he straightened up a little and kept eye contact with her... though it took all his willpower. "I promise I shall keep school first and... that I will do my best to... care for your garden. You... have my word." He would say as resolutely as he could, though still pausing from nerves and the pressure of it all. He was genuine in his promise, as he did not want to let her down for some reason that he didn't know how or when it got there. He also had to stop himself from adding for whats its worth, given his word would mean very little to many people. He let out a deep breath and breathed in to try to calm his nerves, looking up to the doctor to see what would happen next. Both excited, anxious, scared, worried... yet determined.

Dr. Lenz was pleased that as they spoke he could meet her eyes. A sign of respect and comfort that she was glad to have with the young man. When she had peeked a side glance, she was pleased to see Freya behaving herself. The young avian truly trusts him, She thought absently then looked out to her gardens thoughtfully. The smile he had was a genuine one; it made her think of the phrase, birds of a feather. She then pushed such thoughts from her mind as things changed back to the tasks for the future came into conversation once again.

He continued to pet Freya as she spoke to him, which she didn't mind once bit. Instead, she would only smile slightly. She would consent to teaching him, but only if he kept up his schooling and did not lose focus on it. It was quiet then for a bit, but she figured he was weighing the options; which was a wise move indeed. Once she had his promise, she nodded slightly.
"Good. I shall have you start next week then," The doctor replied, her blue-grey eyes looking to his more rouge ones.

At this time, Freya would then move her head and lightly rest her beak on either side of the young man's finger. Breaking eye contact and seeing such actions made the young doctor tilt her head, a slight eyebrow raised.
She really does like him. How odd. Drac thought, seeming visibly impressed. "I have never seen her take a shine to anyone so quickly," Dr. Lenz said her thoughts before looking to him and before Freya would let go and fly away then. A kind smile graced her lips once more.

She would then sigh as a pink-haired woman in a nurse's uniform stepped out from the door and announced that a patient was waiting in the lobby.
It is hope that he is meant to be here. "Well, it seems back to work for me," Dr. Lenz said apologetically as she stood, patting his shoulder in amicable fashion. "It was nice to see you again...Chase. And I shall hope to see you next week, if not sooner," Dr.Lenz said sincerely. Once he stood, she would hold out her hand to him and meet his eyes for a proper shake.

Chase would see her nod, before hearing her say he will start next week as her eyes met his. Chase... didn't know what to feel at that moment. 'Pride, fear, anxiety, accomplishment, joy... I can't find an individual one, just a combination of everything.' He thought to himself confused. It was... well the one thing he could agree on was that it was at least a relief in regards to him being accepted and trusted. Even if it brought along its own worries, it was not as intense as the thoughts of rejection. And he was glad that he was being given this chance to prove himself... to be more than the rumors of him, and to actually try to do good. While doubts of his own ability and letting her down were present in his mind, they were far off for now and worries for next week. And then slight disappointment came into mind. He had been ready and eager to work this week, so hearing that his duties started next week was slightly off putting. Partially because he had built up all the courage today, and would have to muster it again next week. But he did understand why...at least he thought he did. 'She was waiting for my answer, so she could not assign tasks that needed doing until she was sure. Plus she may have desired to know when I could work.' He reasoned to himself. It was a logical thing in his mind, though now he wondered what he was going to do for the rest of the day.

It was then that Chase would be broken from his internal thoughts as he felt a beak on the side of his finger. He would freeze for a moment, not expecting to feel her beak there. 'Did I do something wrong?' It was an irrational thought, but it was the first to pop into his mind. Though due to his freezing, he did note Dr. Lenz tilt her head, raise an eyebrow and seem... 'Impressed? Why would she appear so?' He wondered to himself. His eyes would turn to the bird then and see that she at least didn't intend to bite his fingers. It was a strange gesture for the bird to be making in his mind. He would listen though as Dr. Lenz spoke, explaining indirectly that it was Freya taking a shine to him. 'She likes me already?' He thought a bit surprised. He had not expected to gain the birds like or trust that quickly. His eyes would linger on the bird a little longer in genuine wonder before the bird would take flight, with Chase's eyes following after it. The bird gone, his gaze would travel back to the doctor's eyes and note a kind smile to her lips. He wondered what had caused it, but felt no need to ask. He was still a little in shock at what had just occurred. Had the doctor not explained it, he could never have guessed it was the bird accepting him or liking him. He would've thought it was playing some elaborate game for a treat.

Chase's eyes would flick towards the door as it was suddenly opened, the illusion of peace and isolation of the garden shattered for a moment, and a pink-haired nurse appeared while announcing that a patient was waiting. He had honestly forgotten that the clinic and life was going on as normal past the garden walls. He heard Dr. Lenz sigh, before mentioning that she would have to head back to work. Chase was a bit saddened that their time was coming to a close, though he understood it. She was an important person in the clinic as a doctor, and many patients would likely need her throughout the day. She would stand and pat his shoulder, somehow imparting the feeling to Chase that she enjoyed their time their as well. Though that may have been wishful thinking on his part. She would mention it was nice to see him again, calling him by his first name as he requested on their first meeting, and say she hoped to see him again by next week if not sooner. Chase subconsciously let a smile grace his lips as he listened to her kind words, reaffirming the voice in his head that she enjoyed his company as he did hers. 'Maybe... maybe this will be a good thing for me.' He thought to himself with some hope. He would rise himself to depart, though as he did she would hold out her hand to him as her eyes met his. While there was a second of delay... he quickly yet gently took her hand before shaking it, maintaining eye contact with her. He fully trusted her at this point, and greatly enjoyed her company. Enough so that his shy, self demeaning nature, was suppressed enough for this goodbye. "It was...a pleasure to see you again Dr. Lenz. You can count on me to be here next week, though...if you need me for anything beforehand...please do not hesitate to ask." He would speak with sincerity and gratitude to the doctor. She had saved him once on the streets what felt like forever ago, had been kind to him, and was now entrusting him to work with her. She had already done so much for him that he wanted to help her in anyway he could.

Dr. Lenz had spent much of her time after her foraging dedicated to the holistic hospital. Surprisingly, they had been really busy during this summer. With the Water Festival mentioned, she had considered it with Willow and John, but had ultimately voted against it. A clinic should not get involved with such things. That had not meant that they had not done something small. Those that would come in got a small little thank you basket of bath salts and a candle for their loyalty as such. They also made a donation box that they would help with furthering research for more natural healing remedies/solutions.

She would find her mind wandering to the boy she had helped so long ago. More than three months had passed since she had seen him last, and she had to admit, she wondered if he was doing well with school and friends. As strange as it had been for a woman of her age, she would commune with him on her garden, teaching him when he had a chance to come by. Though, she would be sure to make sure he did not fall behind in his studies and schoolwork.
Maybe he will come again, She thought as she would arrive to the clinic this morning. Ms. Lenz was only surprised for about a couple seconds before she had remembered contacting Chase to see if he wanted to come in today. "Good morning Mr. Sanguine," The doctor greeted.

She smiled softly in greeting, her parasol's pole rested at her right shoulder to shield her from morning's light and almost forgetting she was in common clothes; if one could call a white sleeveless lace and cotton Lolita dress and black dress shoes common.
My, has he grown, and he's looking healthy as well. Good. Drac thought absently as she looked him over. Freya, who'd been flying ahead, landed on her perch above the clinic entrance. To the caw, blue-gray eyes were drawn to the quadruped alongside the tall and fair boy before she met his crimson eyes respectfully. "Please come in," Dr. Lenz instructed him politely after unlocking the door and folding up the parasol, she would walk in and go straight to the dry-erase board. Picking up a marker beside it (Green) she would write. "I hope you have been well," Dracaena stated as she wrote this week's riddle: In spring I am gay in handsome array; in summer more clothing I wear; when colder it grows I fling off my clothes; and in winter quite naked appear. What am I? With that, she placed the marker back down.

Chase had made sure to come to the clinic early, not wanting to risk being late. His time here had been few and far between as of late, school and team changing and the mission all having taken much of his time. It was a bit of a shame, and he had felt bad for not coming more often/ sooner. Which was why he had made sure to be extra early today after alerting her he would be coming to work at the clinic today. He was dressed rather simply; red shirt with black jacket and pants, along with a pair of black boots. He didn't feel the need to don his mission attire or even the beacon uniform at present at least; if a dress code were asked for in future he would gladly do so though. He had also decided to bring his hound today, rather than leaving him locked up in a room till he could return. He wanted his hound to at least have a bit more freedom to walk and see things than be sat bored till he returned. He was grateful to Dr. Lenz for allowing him to bring him as well, as Chase had promised the hound would behave while there. Despite arriving to the clinic early, Chase felt no desire to message Dr. Lenz on it. He did not want to trouble nor rush her to arrive by announcing his own presence, and he was content to just gather his own thoughts as he waited. He thankfully did not have to wait long as she would soon arrive, though in attire chase did not expect to see her in.

She was wearing a white sleeveless lace and cotton Lolita dress and black dress shoes, and seemed surprised to see him there. Chase would give her a shy smile until she greeted him, in which he would greet her in turn. "G-good morning to you as well, Dr. Lenz." He would say, confident even with the slight stutter. Unlike most other girls that showed too much skin, to him, for him to even look. This kind of outfit was more what he was used to, at least in a way. He privately thought the outfit looked nice on her, though quickly dismissed the thought in partial embarrassment. Trying to distract himself, his eyes would travel to Freya to see her looking intently at his hound. Wondering what the bird may be thinking. Chase would make a silent symbol to his hound, a symbol that just meant friend. He didn't want anything to happen; be it protectiveness or curiosity or natural instinct. Thankfully, his hound was well trained at the least. He also felt Drac's eyes on him, which was more than enough reason to keep his eyes looking away from her. Seeing Freya meet his eyes in what felt like..respect? He wasn't quite sure, but he nodded his head slightly in greeting to the bird.

Chase would be interrupted from his thoughts by Dr. Lenz asking him to come in, which he did so swiftly as instructed. He would follow her at a respectful distance, seeing her go to the board and begin to write on it. Which also let him see the dress again. Without even looking to him, she would say she hoped he had been well. "I have, thank you Dr. Lenz. How've you been?" He would respond and ask her politely in return, as so far things had been well for him thankfully. He was debating commenting on her appearance, unsure if it was proper to do so or improper and struggling with internal anxiety, when she would finish the riddle. Reading it, the first part left him confused and lost as to what it could be. But once he read to winter a thought came to mind. 'What type was it again...I know it is the opposite of evergreen...'He thought to himself, before he remembered what type of tree it was. "Is the answer a deciduous tree?" He would ask her, though he sounded fairly sure in his answer. He would pause a moment before adding on. "Your attire looks...nice, by the way." He would say with a slight blush and embarrassed look, eyes focused more on the board than her to try not to make eye contact.

Dr. Lenz would look from the hound to her raven and then to Mr. Sanguine whom she noticed the signal, though she did not know what it meant but, it seemed to be a sort of command to behave. She appreciated that the canine seemed well-mannered as well; she expected nothing less from the boy. As they walked in, she would silently note that Willow and John would be arriving within an hour or so. I'm glad things seem to be going well for him, Drac thought, truly relieved that things changed for the better. "Oh good. I've been well. I actually ran into one of your teachers a while ago," The doctor replied, absently mentioning her interaction/foraging adventure with Lysander as she finished writing.

The young doctor could not help but smile at hearing Chase's answer.
Such a smart kid. Dracaena thought to herself, admiring the boy's quick wit. She would then become confused slightly at his comment on her attire; it had not occurred to her that he would be used to seeing her in her medical uniform at first. "Thank you. I tend to change when I get to work rather than before to be a bit more...clean I guess you could say," Dr. Lenz replied calmly before looking at the board then to the boy behind her. "You are correct, about the tree, I mean. Don't give it away to others now," Drac said, lightly teasing the boy; remembering John's words of being more personable; and Chase was harmless enough, she thought. The practical woman then nodded and nodded towards the hall."Please follow me, as we shall start our day. There should be fruit and danishes as well as coffee and hot water for tea as well in the lounge," Ms. Lenz told him, as the day was still early. Though she found his staring at the board odd, she decided not to question it for now as they would walk to the break room together.

There were many teachers at the school, so he was not quite sure which she was referring to. But he was also more so thinking about how she managed to run into one of the teachers at beacon. It wasn't an entirely impossible thing; after all, teachers would have to go back to Vale at some point or others since it was a job to teach for them. But it still struck Chase as surprising she ran into one. He was curious who it was, but he was still a bit unfamiliar with some of the teachers having not had all of them yet. He shook the thoughts from his head for now, instead focusing on her response that she had been well. 'That is good at the least.' He thought to himself. She would soon smile at his answer, making Chase feel ever more assured he got the answer right. Though she also seemed to adopt a slightly confused look in his comment on her attire. She would explain that she would change when she got to work to be a bit more clean. Chase was curious as to the reasoning, as he assumed the cleanest you could be is coming in uniform to most places, but he could see some of the reasoning in it. Especially if you had an area with adequate space to change. He would nod his head in understanding to her for her reasoning, to show he understood at the least.

She would then look between the board and him and verify that he was correct, but to not give it away to others. While he could see she had been evidently trying to tease, he did answer seriously in response. "I promise." He would simply say, albeit resolutely. It was also why he had not written it on the board; in case she wanted to allow for others to guess still. She would nod to the hall, and ask him to follow for what appeared to be breakfast before they began their day. While Chase had eaten a light meal, he was not opposed to a little more. As the light meal had been in haste more so than preference. The sound of the offered food and drink was particularly appealing to him as well. As he followed her lead, Chase would speak a little. "If I may ask, which teacher did you run into...and what is the plan for today?" He would ask, less meek and shy than earlier. He had been around Dr. Lenz enough he could have a bit more confidence in speaking and asking questions after a little bit. Even if it was still just as easy to become shy again. All the while, his hound would pad along besides him. Seeming to be sniffing around after the mention of food.

Dr. Lenz nodded at his serious response. So mature for his age, Drac thought with a kind smile before they would walk to the break room for a spot of breakfast. When they entered, they would find the pleasant scent of danishes and a couple baskets separating the apples, bananas and peaches from one another. Coffee machine had been started and just finishing from the looks of it. "Thank goodness for timers," The doctor said with a sigh of satisfaction before he would inquire of her past companion. Inside was plain gray couch, a small table and chairs as well as a fridge, cabinets with various dishes and cookware, microwave, and of course the coffee maker and water dispenser that serves hot and cold water.

He's a curious one, but it's understandable, I guess. Dracaena thought before replying. "The Grimm teacher, Professor Fukyuki Lysander," Dr. Lenz answered, "We ended up foraging wild plants together, and he was quite pleasant company." Drac smiled slightly at the memory of the adventure while she poured herself some coffee, getting out vanilla creamer for hers."Cream and sugar," Ms. Lenz offered, turning to look to her current company...

As they entered the room, Chase would be washed over by a wave of smells from inside. He would smell what seemed to be freshly warmed danishes, crescent rolls, muffins, and coffee. All pleasant and appetizing smells for the huntsman in training. Following Dr. Lenz, he would hear her thank timers existing as he heard a sound and assumed something had recently finished making. Though with all the smells he was unsure what exactly, or who/how all the food had become so warm. He didn't think he saw anyone come in before him, but he may have missed the person. Though it could also be they had some sort of tech to make it automatic like that. 'That could prove useful in future.' He thought to himself. His eyes would first gaze around the room, to get an idea of everything. It seemed a mix of living room with kitchen given the couch, tables, chairs, and then all the things you would need for a kitchen; storage and otherwise. It was an interesting mix, and his hound seemed to like it as he would lay down next to the couch. He was more comfortable than Chase at the least, even as he asked his questions.

With her back to him as she seemed to be getting her stuff for breakfast, Chase would listen to her as he let his eyes wander. Mentally trying to pick while he wanted but...not doing so as he was not sure if he could. He didn't...know the proper etiquette for him in this break room. If he should wait to be given permission or freely choose. And given he had already asked her questions...he didn't want to drown her in them. He would have to wait till she answered before he could ask for permission. Though his stomach growled slightly as he quickly knew what he wanted to get. She would say it was the grimm studies teacher, Professor Fuyuki Lysander, and that he helped her to gather plants. Chase had yet to meet that professor; with the team situation and re-scrambling he had been in since joining he hadn't had many of the prominent professors he had heard of. He may try to get him as one though now that Dr. Lenz mentioned him and called him pleasant company. He trusted her to be truthful, so he figured he may be a nice professor to get to know. She would then, after pouring something, say cream and sugar and turn to look at him. Chase was momentarily confused, since he had no drink in hand, until he thought maybe she was pouring him a drink? But he was unsure. "A-are you...pouring me a drink? If so yes and...thank you. May I...get some food? Can I...get you anything as well, since you...are getting the drink for me?" Chase would ask shyly, not sure how to respond to the simple act of kindness that Dr. Lenz probably thought nothing of. He didn't want to be a burden to her, and wanted to help her in turn for thinking to get him a drink. And he also saw his chance to ask if he was allowed to get food himself as well; he did not want Dr. Lenz to go out of her way to do so for him when she still needed food as far as he knew. He had noticed she hadn't answered his question on the plans for today, but he was fine with waiting on an answer for when she wanted to say it.

Cinnabari smiled softly to her pupil, blue-gray eyes briefly watching as the pup went to lay down by the couch. Good boy, Drac thought, appreciating the hound's manners. She was not paying much attention to at other times while she was prepping the coffee until she had to wait for her guest's response when she looked to him just then. "I am," The doctor said matter-of-factually before continuing with a cube of sugar and pouring some cream after getting it out of the fridge. She would then set it down in front of him.

He is still adjusting, Dracaena thought, reminding herself before smiling softly as he would ask her. "You may. In future, you need not ask permission. You are seen as much a part of the clinic staff as I am," Dr. Lenz told him, hoping it would clear things for future. Though her voice was gentle it also had a kind of resoluteness that one could not question. To his question she shook her head as she was already pouring herself a cup of the dark and strong french roast. "Thank you. Maybe one of the danishes...They are kind of my Achilles' heel." Drac requested, since he asked and smiled slightly as she jested a bit. Although she did love Cindy Lou's danishes. That receptionist was a saint and a half. As they got their food and coffee and sat down, she would get them bamboo recyclable utensils and sit across from her young colleague."So...you asked about the plan for today. Today, you will be weeding the garden and helping Nurse Willow when she needs you. We already have a locker and a uniform for you," Ms. Lenz said, having thought about it and casually passed him a piece of paper with what looked like a combination on it as she sipped her coffee daintily.

Dr. Lenz would confirm she was getting the drink for him. Chase felt a bit touched since she did so without being asked to or anything. It was not a common gesture amongst most people. So suffice it to say he was deeply grateful to the doctor, even if she may not think it a significant gesture. As she responded on not needing permission for future and that he was seen as part of the clinic staff...Chase was unsure what to say. He hadn't thought of himself as part of the staff, just a volunteer here since he wanted to help out. His main tasks had even been primarily the garden during his time here. So he was more than a little surprised at her calling him staff as much as she was, the expression clear on his face. He honestly had hardly even noticed her setting the drink down in front of him. While her voice was gentle, he could read the resoluteness to it as well. One that brooked no argument; he was part of the staff whether desired or not. "Thank you Dr. Lenz. I am uncertain what to say except...thank you, and I promise to not let you down." He would say, surprise still evident in his voice along with a resoluteness. His temporary pause mid way more him choosing his words than nervousness or anything, as he meant every word.

Despite shaking her head to one of his earlier questions, one he had momentarily forgotten since he was still recovering from being part of the clinic staff, she would thank him and ask for a danish, calling it her Achilles heel. He seemed uncomprehending a moment, before realization flashed on his eyes and he nodded. Hurriedly, yet carefully as he did not want to mess up, he would make his way to them. He had missed that it was in jest, just taking it for her saying they were a favorite of hers that she couldn't resist. He would carefully select one of the larger ones for her; just in case she was hungrier than she let on. He would also get one for himself, and came back carrying two plates. Gently setting one down for her first before setting his down and sitting across from her. In that time, she had already acquired any utensils they would need. She would then answer a question he had asked even earlier than the last few, explaining that he would be weeding the garden and helping Nurse Willow when needed. While he had seen her during his volunteering her, he hadn't quite worked with her yet. He felt a bit of anxiety at the thought of him messing up under her direction just as he was accepted as part of the clinic. But he pushed such thoughts aside when Dr. Lenz mentioned he had a locker and uniform. 'This is...really happening.' He thought to himself, still in surprise, as she passed him a piece of paper with some numbers on it. Presumably the locker combination. Today had just been full of surprises for the huntsman in training. He hadn't even touched his food yet given all that was occurring so far, in his eyes at least.

Chase would quietly eat his meal in thought, occasionally taking a drink between bites, as he was unsure what to say or do. He felt so much good news had been given to him, that his mind went to what bad may come to balance things out as it always did. He ate in a practiced way, one that had been ingrained since he was young; knife and fork to cut into the danish, creating small pierces, with a slow and unhurried cut. Every so often using a napkin to wipe his lip as well if he felt any of it go astray. Another thought had crossed his mind while eating. 'How did they know my size?' He wondered to himself, though felt that may be a less important thing to ask. Finally finished with meal, which he would have said was good had he not been so distracted...he would look to Dr. Lenz. "Thank you for everything, sincerely. For all that...you've done for me." He would say, voice sincere and grateful to the doctor as he kept eye contact with her for a little bit, with no sign of flinching away or anything. He would then silently rise, hound sitting up as he did, and picked up his plate before looking to Dr. Lenz. "May I?" He would ask, gesturing to her plate to dispose of it and any leftover as well. If she allowed, he would take it and do just that. If not, then he would merely dispose of his own. Once done he would look back to Dr. Lenz. "Shall we head to the lockers together then, as I assume your own uniform is there as well?" He would ask her, though he did not know if hers was separate. If it were, he would be fine going alone so long as she directed him. He didn't want to get lost searching the entire clinic. And...almost as an after thought to him, he would extend his arm for her to take; specifically extending his elbow/ arm to her rather than his hand. It was something else partially ingrained from his past, so much so that when he realized he did so...he paled slightly. 'I was doing so well too...' He thought to himself with slight apprehension, debating pulling his arm away but thinking that may be considered rude. So he held it out still...for her to accept or not, as he was unsure which result he even desired but being stuck with the choice up to her.

Dr. Lenz smiled kindly before nodding when he said thank you. "You are most welcome and I have faith in you, or else I wouldn't have said it." Such a polite young man. His mother must be proud of him. Drac thought absently before pushing the thought away. As they continued to settle down with their breakfast, she had gotten them both napkins, folded them to be triangles/half-diamonds and set the bamboo fork and knives properly atop the napkin; proper table settings were a habit for her since she was little. "Thank you, Chase," The doctor said calmly once they were both seated. The silence that followed her going over the plan was not unpleasant, at least to Dracaena as they ate and drank their coffees.

Her manner of eating was much the same as Chases as she would cut her danish into bite-size pieces before take it one at a time between dainty sips, wiping her mouth delicately when she felt some go astray. Her posture never slouching; mannerisms almost resembling that of one with similar upbringing. She would take the last bite and gently set her utensils down before Chase would speak again, capturing her blue-gray gaze with his crimson one. As he spoke though, she felt a bit of emotion as her heart pattered, although why, she could not quite understand or register. She made a quiet note to figure out the prognosis later if it happened again though. It registered that he had thanked her, for more than just this morning, but for even back to when they met all those months ago on that very bizarre evening. She smiled softly to the young man she had come to care for.
"You are forever and most sincerely welcome," Dr. Lenz replied with sincere and gentle care in her voice, having not realized his words had made her blush a little. Only managing to nod when he asked to take her dishes and thanked him softly.

When he returned from disposing of everything they had used, she would be surprised by his offering of his arm. Just when she thought this morning could not possibly get more surprising, he was more of a gentleman than usual. Though she did not see it as Yuki would (such as flirting), she saw it as an act of proper etiquette.
"That is correct, and thank you." Drac replied with a gentle smile and took his arm with a delicate hand. While they walked, it might have been a blessing for both that no one was there yet; since she always came about an hour or so before all the other staff. Once they reached the locker room, she would respectfully unhook her hand from his arm and point to the signs that clearly said men on the left and women on the right; indicating this is where they momentarily parted. "I shall see you soon," Ms. Lenz said and with that, she would disappear calmly into the women's locker room to change.

Chase had taken great pride in her saying she had faith in him, and her thank you at his getting a danish for her. It may be silly to most but praise from a doctor like her meant a lot for the huntsman in training. Those thoughts lingering in his mind as they ate; though he did notice that she too seemed to have a refined way of eating. Eating with fork and knife, small and unhurried portion of drink and danish, never slouching, and a napkin ready when needed. He wondered where she had gotten such manerisms from; his was due to his noble birth and what was expected of him. But for all he knew of Dr. Lenz she was just a doctor. Then again... 'I do not know much about her save her work life.' He silently thought to himself. Something he had never really thought to ask because of their relation. He wondered if he should ask on it...but for now he pressed such thoughts out of his mind. He was here to work and prove he was deserving of her inclusion now. Anything else could be for after he was done today. This, along with everything else, helped lead into his heart felt thank you to her. He would notice a blush and smile on her face as she responded, saying he was forever and sincerely welcomed with a sincere and gentle care in her voice. Chase felt...happy. Sincerely and truly happy. As she nodded to take her plate away, he would do so without hesitation. And as we get to where he accidentally offered her arm, due to his grooming while growing up, he was almost shocked when she thanked him and...took his arm. He had honestly been expecting her to refuse in some way or another, likely politely knowing her. He stiffened as she took it, a blush on his face as he dutifully tried not to look at her.

Chase had to will his feet to move. 'Relax relax...I'm sure she is just doing this out of formality.' He would repeat in his mind to try and calm himself. Thankfully, no one else was here for the time being. If anyone else was he would be mortified and unable to move. But as they walked, with plenty of internal encouragement, he slowly relaxed. Mostly because he was comfortable with Dr. Lenz, and felt he knew her enough that...it was just formality. If it wasn't...he may die on the spot. They would reach the lockers without incident, and Dr. Lenz would mercifully let go of his arm. Chase felt immediate relief at that, and as she pointed out the signs to the men and womens locker room. She would merely say she would see him soon and disappear into the female locker room. Chase finally let out a long sigh of relief as he entered the males locker room, his hound remaining outside for now. 'That didn't...go as bad as expected.' He thought to himself silently with a soft smile. He would go to his locker, taking out the paper with password as he found his locker. He felt his heart beat speed up a bit as he began to put in the numbers to the locker. Once it opened would be the moment the disbelief would be dispelled. There, in the locker, was his uniform. He took it out tentatively, holding it in front of him. Seeing it was potentially the right size. That this wasn't some joke, or dream. That it was real.

Chase would take his time in changing from his current clothing to the uniform, being careful with his mantle. The uniform was...a lot. Underclothes, over clothes, hat, and even white gloves. While nice...it took Chase a bit to get full suited up in the uniform. Mostly cause there was so much to it. He laid it all out carefully first, to figure out what order to put things in. Thankfully, that was the quick part. Once fully in uniform, Chase would put his regular clothes into the locker and look in the mirror. He almost didn't recognize himself, being in uniform now. Mostly cause he never expected to be in it. But the longer he looked, the more he felt...pride, at wearing it. The more he felt...he belonged. Smiling to himself, Chase would go to exit the locker room. Not wanting to stay longer in case anyone else decided to come earlier today and found him in there. He didn't quite know if everyone else knew he was...hired? He didn't know if this was just uniform or if he was being paid now or... 'Too much to worry on. Relax.' He thought to himself to force himself to relax. Taking a deep breath, he would open the locker room door and rejoin his hound outside.

Drac had not noticed the boy was watching her as she was enjoying breakfast earlier, though she was glad all seemed pleasant. And it was seen as rude, in her mind to refuse his polite offer to walk with her, so she took his arm. If he was uncomfortable, she had not noticed, nor when he seemed to relax once they separated. Now that she was alone, she had time to at least list what was scheduled. "Yes, it might be a bit busy today." Dr. Lenz mumbled to herself before finishing within the three minutes timer she gave herself. Having walked out, trim and proper as usual, putting her cap on. Looking around, she would not have long to wait; maybe a minute or two before turning to Chase. She was a bit closer to her true height now since she was in the appropriate shoes, but that didn't bother her. She would smile to her acolyte kindly and observed. Dressed correctly, good. Drac thought before motioning for him to go first. "It suits you, I hope it's the right size." The doctor said as she would walk with him back to the front.

Shortly after Drac and Chase would walk back to the reception area to collect the key to the garden and apothecary hut, an elderly woman that Chase might remember as the receptionist, Cindy Lou. Her slender hands held a container that looked to be a 9x9 lidded, and smelt of warm cookies. Her short grayed hair was neat and combed back to keep out of her face and her smile was warm. "Hello, darlings," greeted the warm and welcoming alto voice. Walking behind the reception desk, Cindy sat down and began her work. Looking to Drac, she nodded. "You have an appointment in just an hour," Ms. Lou told the doc before looking to Chase and offering him a cookie without a word; the scent of chocolate chip cookies wafting out.

Dr. Lenz smiled kindly. "Good morning, Cindy Lou," Dr. Lenz greeted, having always been used to being called darling, she never really thought much more on it. She would then nod when told about her first appointment, thanking the elder woman. So, we have a little time to unlock everything and for John and Willow to arrive soon. Drac then looked to the board once more. Deciding against changing it while Chase was offered the cookie. Before she could ask, Cindy Lou had held out a ring with three keys on it. "Thank you, Ms. Lou," Dr. Lenz said as she would walk away to unlock the garden door calmly.

As Chase exited the locker room, he would find Dr. Lenz already out and waiting. While he knew he hadn't been too long in there himself, he hoped he had not kept her waiting very long. Trim and proper as usual, with cap on, Chase was reminded again of their actual height difference now that she changed shoes. It almost seemed silly, or so he imaged, that someone as tall as himself could be so shy and meek where someone like her was one of the most confident people he knew. Or at the very least gave such an appearance. As she smiled kindly to him, he would return a friendly if nervous smile to her in return. Still trying to get used to the uniform himself and hoping it would not irritate his mantle. She would then say the outfit suited him, making him blush a little, and that she hoped it was the right size. "Th-thank you Dr. Lenz. It is the correct size." He would respond, wondering to ask how she knew what his size was but decided not to for now. The material had also been nice enough as well for him, so far at least, but the real test would come as the day went on and he moved about more. Or less, depending. As she motioned him to go first, he would nod and begin to with her walking close to him as they went to the front. Thankfully, even for a person as inept at navigation as him, the clinic only really had one major hallway that circled most of the length of the place. So he was guaranteed to reach the front at some point, and with her gesturing for it it was likely the short way too.

However as they reached the front, they would find they were no longer the sole inhabitants of the clinic. An elderly woman, who Chase recognized as the receptionist but could not recall her name due to his own...social ineptitude, would greet them in a warm voice by calling them darlings...Chase blushed slightly at that, not expecting to be called that today or...ever really. Trying to avoid eye contact as he shyly smiled, he would notice she had a container that had the scent of cookies...Not something he was used to eating, sweets being something he only had on the rare occasion as he preferred to eat healthily. 'They smell good but...they are probably for the patients. And I cannot even meet her eye, let alone ask for one.' He silently thought to himself. Dr. Lenz would greet the receptionist in turn by calling her Cindy Lou, which at least solved the forgotten name crisis Chase had felt. An unspoken thought that by not even knowing her name how would he ever ask for a cookie with something as disrespectful as that in his mind. The receptionist would walk behind the counter and seemed to get to work, telling Dr. Lenz her first appointment would be in an hour. As she did so, Dr. Lenz would thank her and look to the board but Chase would find his attention drawn to the receptionist as she silently offered him a cookie. Looking indecisive for a moment, Chase would cave and take a few steps towards her to gently take one. "Thank...you...Ms. Lou." He would say shyly and only very audibly, making eye contact for a second perhaps before breaking it. After it was given, the receptionist would hold out a key ring which Dr. Lenz would take and thank her for and begin to walk towards the garden. Not wanting to be left behind, Chase would give the receptionist a small wave of farewell and quickly follow after Dr. Lenz with cookie in hand. As he caught up and matched pace besides her, Chase would break the cookie in half and look to her. "Would you...want some of it?" He would ask, offering her half of it. If she said no, he would merely eat the two halves as he knew he would be getting to work weeding soon enough. If yes, he would carefully hand over half of it to her.
