"You make do...you...you live there? I mean, of course. It is so...it is so charming. So rustic. Of course there are people living in th-there," Toki says, thinking of her neat, modern dorm room, thinking of the air conditioning and running water, and for some reason unable to meet the other person's eyes.

"I am simply exploring! It is so bright and sunny here. This is certainly a lovely place to spend a day or two -- but perhaps if you could suggest a location where there isn't anyone living, where I might find abandoned items to collect? Oh, but before I forget..."

The camera flashes, and a few polaroids are collected and handed out.

"Hello, fellow -- hurrrk -- student!" Toki says, lying on the ground, fighting the urge to throw up. It is very comfortable here. She might not move. Ever. "I'm afraid I'm lost as well. Perhaps if you find your way back, you might...urrrgh...return to me and give me directions?"

Almost on instinct, she raises the camera. Whether or not the other student wants them, three polaroids shoot out and slide across the grass.

"A photo of the two of you! Of course, of course."

Toki tries to frame them both in the viewfinder, but the height difference is a little... she manages to get both of them in the frame, and the camera flashes.

"Ahh, friendship! There is truly nothing more valuable."

The taller one took the polaroid with his finger tips clamping the white edge, "Thank you sweetie." He flashed the bright color student with a flashy grin. While his hand was fanning the film for it to dry, he bent and leaned closer to Shu. Ace whispered quietly with a hidden amusement, "She thinks we're friends, shall we act like we do?"

Shu who was actually his senior used her hand to push Ace away and walked closer to Toki. "Indeed, friendship is very important." She fiddled her pocket and took out a shining item. "It's a gift from a dearest friend of mine, she's like - a mother, a sister and a friend to me." She touched it with unspoken affection. "It's a valuable object I used to remember her, I don't have something special with me right now, but you can have this."

It was a small paper star in gold, as it had a glossy surface, it sparkled with lights. "It's a thing we do, some people believe if you fold 100 of them, it would bring good luck."

A big hand went into her vision, it was Ace's. "Where's mine?" Shu gave him a silent glance, ignored him and turned back to Toki. "You haven't answered me why you're here?"

Toki looks over at Ace, not impressed.

"You should not be mean to your friends. It is unbecoming."

She turns back to Shu, grabbing the piece of origami paper with badly-concealed glee.

"不管他! 你要跟我一起拍照吗? And to answer your question...it appears that I have wandered here from a place called the Haunted House! It...also appears that not everyone here is a fellow student. Perhaps I should watch my step."

Feeling much better (food poisoning lost the battle...this time), Toki glances around the forest clearing. It appears that the two bickering strangers have left, and she is now free to scavenge whatever she wants without fear of reprisa--

Wait, was that a shadow? Someone walking a little distance away? Someone who looked oddly familiar...?

"HELLO! Hello, friend!" Toki yells, getting up and making a beeline towards them.

"Yes, yes, hello! It appears we have both come out unscathed from that horrific, foggy, gnome-ridden place," Toki says, still wrongly, still not having done any research on the Haunted House whatsoever.

"I am exploring this much friendlier, much sunnier area that I have somehow stumbled into. It is a perfect day for scavengi--ah, hiking. It occurs to me that we have not been introduced - how rude of me. I am Toki! It is such a waste that we did not manage to get a photo together the last time."

She extends her hand. It is covered by her sleeve. There is no way anyone can shake it. This doesn't seem to deter her.
