He'd fought her before, had a good idea of what he was jumping into by attacking her. It had been a long time though, so maybe some things had been forgotten with time...or softened around the edges. Hearing her speak he shook his head and smiled. "Ahh, my Captain is a bit...over zealous and gets excited in a fight. " Shrugging his shoulders. he'd talk to Wither later, once this was over, but for now he would deal with the knight and keep her away from his Captain. Let Wither handle the eternal and he'd handle the knight, divide and conquer.
"Oh....really? I think you think too highly of yourself...but we shall see." And he saw real soon...when the metal disk hit him in the face and sent him backward. His jaw aching, he'd heard the crack when the metal had connected with his face. The fact nothing was dislocated or broken was...a miracle. He knew it was going to be hard to open his mouth, his jaw was going to be hurting that much. As he touched his face he could feel blood...so the thing had split skin - lovely. More injuries to explain away to his partner...and try and get his cousin to not flip out over, since his cousin would know where it came from - joy.
Having crouched down at some point he picked himself up, weapon still in hand, and he moved toward the knight again. This time he spun and swung the bottom end of his weapon at the knight. The heavy ball at the end, made of solid glass, aimed to hit her in the face as well - pay back was a b***h right?
Shalott was finished playing around with the Negaverse. She was tired of these people that preyed on fear and pain and used them to confuse and destroy. In her eyes he was no better than Painite and needed to be treated as such. He was still much too cocky, having the audacity to claim the same for her. It was a joke, really, and she would have lingered on the irony any other time. But not today, not right now.
It was gratifying to see him go down, her own injury pushed down and the pain repressed. He wasn't going to stay down for long if she knew him at all. She thought she did, given their mutual history. Shalott set her lips in grim determination as she watched him attack. He was much too obvious about his intentions. She grabbed ahold of the butt of his weapon as it whipped at her, halting its arc and sending the spear toward him with a quick, hard thrust.
For now, it appeared she was holding her own against the General, but for how long would that last? There was no husband here to help her now, but she hoped defense of the White Moon around her meant that the same White Moon agents would be willing to help her if push came to shove.
He wasn't too surprised she figured his move, the turn he'd made was an obvious give away. He couldn't afford to be so obvious it seemed. As his own weapon stabbed into him, drawing more blood, he took a moment to let his weapon vanish as he put some distance between himself and the knight. With some distance, and the knight no longer touching his weapon, he summoned it back into his gloved hands. The edges of his uniform, surrounding the hole in the fabric, were darkening slowly with blood.
"That was cute...turning my weapon against me. I don't be allowing that again." No, he was going to fall back onto another tactic of his - teleporting. Vanishing from where he stood he did reappear next to her as he moved like he was going for a stab but instead he brought a leg up to kick at her. In all honesty he needed a few moments, at least, before he swung his weapon again at her. It hurt, it stung and burned, and he was bleeding....maybe he could grab some energy to help with healing it up a bit? It was an option..
"It wasn't meant to be cute." She frowned, narrowing her eyes at him. "You can stop this, Benitoite. You can take your Captain and walk away. You don't need to do this."
Her heavy implication was that this was one battle that he was not fated to win. At least, his side. She was not going to give up the knight without a fight because she was going to be damned if one more of her fellow knights fell to the clutches of the Negaverse. If they were fighting for a soul, so be it. She was not going to give it up without that fight.
The kick connected to her side, the same side as the slash on her shoulder and she cried out in pain and frustration as more pain radiated through her. She responded with another carefully aimed hit, this one to his already hurt jaw. If she could break it, so much the better. At least then she wouldn't have to hear him speak anymore.
"You don't learn, Beni. You never learn. I could have helped you once, but not anymore."

Funeral home
10 PER (pass) While musty and sterile, the funeral home offered very little at first glance. Chairs lined up for facing a podium, while another room offered a selection of different coffins left half-open for inspection. Signs stood about advertising their functionality. Flower displays sat on nearly all the tables, contributing a floral undertone to the stale scent of old furniture. This funeral home offered full service, however, and venturing further into the area revealed the makeup application area for the deceased. In it, the offered embalming services provided a plethora of chemicals to use as makeshift disruptions for the surrounding fights. Formaldehyde, methanol, glutaraldehyde, and other solvents remained well-labeled in a neat line underneath the counter. (Taking these chemicals and using them against others causes up to 2 targets to lose 1 turn. Must roll for accuracy against the targets. 2 uses.)
15 PER (pass) Crossing into the innermost area of the funeral home leaves one in the presence of the crematorium, and while this area looked promising, nothing stood out as an obvious use for the area…
Witherite was happy to see Bossman and grinned at Shalott when Beni stepped into take care of her. He turned his eyes on the eternal and the little super until a lieutenant jumped into to help. He winked at the lieutenant and gave her the thumbs up before turning to the eternal and the cat with a smirk.
He summoned his weapon and tilted his head to the side ... "looks like it you and me shortie ... but thats okay ... might have buttwings, but I can take you."
He spun his weapon slightly and grinned ran forward thrusting his fork forward in an attempt to stab the eternal. "Time to dance."
The pained growl from the Captain (Witherite) seemed to suggest that his claws had scored a direct hit on the blond Nega Officer, but proximity meant that Liryn wasn't able to avoid the hand descending towards him in retaliation-
Although that might have been down to the fact that he tried to bite it.
If the Captain's intent was to knock him away from him, then that intent was successful - although it also had the side effect of knocking Liryn closer to the Lieutenant (Forsterite) trying to kick Subamara.
He wasn't down however as he got to his feet - knew he owed the icky Captain a hard bite.
For now however, Liryn turned a purplish glare at the Lieutenant before he hissed again and launched himself in her direction, his claws once again outstretched.

Athene recognised the blond General (Benitoite) who had stepped into the fray as being the same General that he and Pompeii had ended up facing off against.
It was clear from their interaction that the knight (Shalott) seemed to know the General as well.
Of the three Nega-Officers, the General seemed to be the biggest threat and Athene paused in anticipation of trying to call on his magic-
Because if his magic decided to co-operate and actually work then at least it would remove the General from the equation for a little bit...
His face paled as the Captain hit Liryn, sending the small mauvian flying, his breath exhaling on a sigh of relief as the tabby bobtail pulled himself to his feet.
The distraction meant that Athene was a little too slow to react to the threat of the Captain as the taller man lunged forward with what appeared to be a fork...
But whilst it might have appeared to be a fork - being struck with it was still painful, Athene's breath escaping on a hiss.
He swung out in retaliation with his left hand, hand curled into a fist, hoping to force the Captain back a bit - and put every bit of his strength as an eternal into the attempted blow.

This knight joining their side...he really wasn't sure this was worth it. He was missing an arm...what use was a one armed officer? It would throw off his balance and what sort of weapon could he wield with one arm? He couldn't even change arms if need be in a fight. He was honestly, in the Generals opinion, better off a knight feeding them information...or dead. That wasn't his decision though so he would do his best...especially to keep his Captain safe.
"I didn't want your help - then and certainly not now." He answered, staring with narrowed eyes at the knight.
Shalott stopped relishing his pain, knowing that it only came from his stubbornness and his misplaced loyalty and pride. She'd offered him a way out before they got too deep into this together. If he didn't take it, that was his own choice. Perhaps she'd come out in top, perhaps she wouldn't, but she didn't enjoy fighting him to defend her fellow White Moon members.
He lashed out at her, the kick glancing over her hip and she felt it connect against her skin and bones. It hurt in a jarring way, causing her to take a step back and lash at him with her own leg, aiming for his hurt side. The sooner she could stop this madness, apparently his captain thought it was open season on the others while he was occupied, the better this would be for everyone.
"No, you never did want my help," she agreed, knowing by now that it had been far too late for him before it even began. "And your side never learns that if you push, we will push back."
Forsterite squinted incredulously as the blonde captain (Witherite) winked at her. Was that how all captains acknowledged the actions of their subordinates? She doubted it; it didn't seem professional. However, as uncertain as she was of how to take the gesture, she supposed she should have at least been grateful that a superior of hers appeared to have approved of her taking the initiative and interceding when she thought it most appropriate.
Her own attack hadn't seemed to do much, but at least it had done something. She no longer felt completely useless, even if the captains and general close by were engaging in much more dangerous fights with knights and eternal senshi. As long as she could assist in some way and do her part without getting in their way or displeasing them, she would be satisfied.
As if to remind her she needed to keep on her toes and focus on her own battles, a striped cat (Liryn) seemed to appear out of nowhere to dig its claws into the side of her uniform and slashed through cloth to get at the vulnerable flesh beneath. Exhaling sharply in pain, she reached over to grab the feline by the back of its neck in the hopes of extracting it from her person and tossing it at the brunette senshi (Subamara).
Tiberius was so overtly concerned with finding his General (who also buttered his bread by giving him a home on the Civ side of things), he didn't realize until it was too late to avoid being bowled over that another cat - an Order cat - was on the attack.
As cats tended to do, Tibs recovered quickly and flipped his massive, fluffy body around so that he could rake his back legs across Hania's furry stomach. He might only have claws and a one-shot laser, but he had once been part of a colony - he knew how to have a true cat-fight! Tib's fluff would keep him from taking horrific damage (or helping) and his massive size would dwarf the silky-furred Bombay and give his kicks even more power.
That was the hypothesis, anyway...but he'd taken quite the blow when the order cat barreled into him. Sure, it had allowed him to latch onto his opponent and to get some nice slashes in, to send some fur flying....but he knew he had been too discombobulated with being knocked about and that his retaliatory attack was less accurate and devastating than he'd wished. "I'm going to rip your stupid necklace off and feed it to you."
With the Knight and brave little Liryn stepping in to her defence, Subamara had a brief moment to be thoroughly outraged at the words the purple-and-blond Captain was spouting.
“U-unfinished business?!” He’d tried to kill her! He’d told her his intentions, in no uncertain terms. For no reason, when she was just trying to help people. The only business they had was that he wouldn’t mind his! Oh, she would have some things to say when Athene put a barrier around him, and he realised how outnumbered he was-
But Liryn was hit, and a General was suddenly right on top of them, and a yell from her side heralded the arrival of a Lieutenant, charging in at her as the Captain had. Now she was caught in the centre of the fray, exactly where she wasn’t supposed to be. And she couldn’t back away fast enough, the woman’s heavy-booted high kick glancing off her cheek, shocking a choked cry from the senshi of coffee. The blow left a rapidly reddening mark, and she raised a hand to the impending bruise as she tried to stumble away.
But where could she go now? The fast-moving battle between general and knight seemed to be everywhere. And Witherite was looking her way again. But instead of coming after her, he gave a thumbs-up to the other woman - inviting someone else to kill her – and going after Athene.
Nonononono no…
And while she was worrying about her friend’s hiss of pain, the Lieutenant woman saw fit to throw Liryn at her.
“What is wrong with you people?” she demanded, and held out her arms to catch the poor cat, or at least give him a softer landing.
His weapons didn't fully hit his mark and he felt like he was bumbling along and that really just wasn't satisfactory at all. The curled up fist certainly didn't help matter at all especially when it made contact with him abdomen making him stumble backward, pain blossoming outward. He could feel the pain in his back .. he wasn't expecting an eternal to be quite so strong ... though he also hadn't gone toe to toe with one since he first awakened.
Now wasn't a time to back down and so he would just have to keep going, things could be evened out with the addition of a few youma if need be. For now he kept a tight hold on his weapon, straightening up and getting in close with the eternal. He would eventually get in a decent hit, if he stayed close enough.
He jabbed for the eternal's side with his fork, wanting to make the other bleed. He and the knight may be capable of rocking his world, but that didn't mean that he couldn't do some damage or maybe outsmart the other.
"I intend to take you down buttwings ... even if I'm a little damaged in the end."
He intended as soon as he was able to get some spars in the Beni because he might be better equipped to fight someone stronger if he practiced with Bossman. He needed to spar with some of his teammate too, maybe a group session, so they knew how to work better in these situations. He wondered where they were.
He kept an eye on the lieutenant too, not wanting the woman to get to far in over her head, though she seemed to be handling herself alright, despite ... interfering cat.
Liryn wasn't about to let any Nega Officer just grab him - at least not without a fight - which meant that as the Lieutenant's ([b]Forsterite) hands descended in his direction he naturally tried to bite them.
It was an awkward angle for nipping though and so Liryn wasn't sure how successful he was, given that the Lieutenant managed to get her hands around him...
For the second time that evening he found himself airborne, in a fashion that was not of his making - but this time round he had a softer landing in the form of Subamara.
"Thanks" he said, although his attention was mostly on the Lieutenant.
A bright light suddenly flashed from somewhere in the direction of the south, the light bright enough to make Liryn think of a beacon-
Even if he didn't know yet for what.
"We should check that out" he said quietly to Subamara, because he had a feeling that it was important...
But with a Lieutenant, Captain and a General, it was hard to see how they could do so anytime soon.
