Hargitt - Post Two
Hargitt had never felt more relieved to see Jakkoa in his life. The smaller blonde's intervention was met with a genuine, if small, smile and slackening of tension within his spine. His flattery was met with a gaggle of giggles, and compliments that were returned to him, but Hargitt didn't care for that. At least now he was saf-
And just like that, in a flash the tension had returned. Spoiled for all women...only ever draw your sword... Hargitt was absolutely mortified. What kind of person just brazenly talked about that sort of thing in front of others? Jakkoa, apparently. It shouldn't have surprised him, but he at least thought Jak had more tact than that.
The skin surrounding his ears felt as if it were on fire. Several of the ladies 'awwwed' and one murmured a 'figures'. "Are you sure it's only for men and a special lady can't change your min-?"
"Only men," He snapped. Was his voice a little more tense than usual? If not a little squeaky?
It didn't take them long to disperse after that. Hargitt only hoped that they wouldn't gossip about every detail that had happened her when given the chance; especially not Jak's lewd words. Hargitt didn't want to be associated with that.
When they got out of earshot, Hargitt gave into a huffy little sigh, "I hate this. I know you want to be here, but do I have to?"

Nuawahn (Post 2) ~~~~~~~~~~"Kuuuunto! Zuuuri!" he called... and then he heard it, an echo! Sort of, if echos said a different name, in a different voice. His name! He squealed in delight, wheeling around until he saw the small figure waving to him. "YAY!" he cried, "There you are!" he ran in to joyfully hug them both. If he wasn't awake before, he was now, full of energy to see his friends as he was for everything that involved happiness and friends. "Where's mister Abo?" he asked cheerily. He had a present for Zuri's mate, too, because that was just nice to do, but nothing nearly as special as what he had for them!

Kaalnia (Post 2) ~~~~~~~~~~A commotion was occurring nearby, and Kaalnia decided to pay attention, a decision that paid off when she realized the commotion involved seven beautiful ladies and one man who was clearly not into it. "Heeey, ladies!" she called out to them, grinning, "If you want some fun, I'm game!" Not that they were likely to be interested in her, specifically, but she could at least entertain them and stave off their disappointment a little... and she could certainly help the poor guy being mobbed by them! Nobody should have to be harassed like that, not if she could help them... heh heh... painted moose Just vaguely interjecting here wink

Zumei Post 2 Zumei was visibly excited by Aldren's willingness to catch fish with her and all but dragged the poor ice lad along with her to reach her goal. The blanket over her head felt odd, but she was at least smart enough to know that Aldren would be unhappy without it. She always wondered if the ice people tanned at all, or if they simply burned to a crisp. "Maybe we can catch a fish for your sister. She might like that," Zumei said out loud, pondering on it as they drew closer to the stall with the little fish game. The stall itself was crowded with smaller children, and the wind woman felt a little guilty about crowding right up there with them. "I maaay be too old for this. I don't want to show any kids up with my awesome fish skills."

Aldren Post: 2Aldren paused, his steps slowing to an almost complete stop in the wake of the Wind woman's very offhand commentary about his younger sister. She spoke so easily and seemingly with very little forethought. That Sepharine would come to Zumei's thoughts with no help from him was just- He smiled softly, not that his companion would see it, scurrying ahead as she was. "I think she'd be very grateful," Aldren agreed quietly.
Others seemed to be as excited about the game as Zumei was. Admittedly, many of them were significantly smaller than his lady friend, and they did manage to be quite a bit louder. But as far as Aldren was concerned, there was room for everyone, and if Zumei wanted to play a children's game, she should be allowed to play a children's game. He put a hand to her back and gave her a gentle nudge forward, slipping a coin into her hand for the vendor before she was out of reach.
"Maybe you can teach them a thing or two, huh?" He called back to her. One of the older, small children shot him her most unimpressed look before going about her game. Aldren laughed.

Jakkoa | 3Hargitt appeared relieved— —and then decidedly less so, moments later. Jakkoa dismissed that, though, taking the smile for what it was worth and the subsequent awkwardness and abashment for, well, he didn’t suppose he necessarily minded that either. It was amusing, in its own way. He opened his mouth, turning to Hargitt as they began to dissipate. Then, “Heeey, ladies!” interjected, and Jak’s attention took a moment to flit in the direction of the distinctly feminine voice, if booming and angled high. Whatever he was anticipating, the drop in his stomach on sight of the largest alkidike he had ever seen in his life was not it—though, to be ‘fair’, he could count on less than one hand the total number of them he’d ever encountered personally. His fingers crimped subtly at Hargitt’s arm, then released and dropped as he took one casual half-step back: nearer to ‘behind’ Hargitt and away from whoever—whatever—that woman was. His eyes flicked up again. “We can relocate, if it please you. You needn’t feel obligated to accompany me, besides, if you would rather…” He gave a vague swish of a hand with loose fingers, “…sulk on the outskirts of the city and speak to the birds and the rest of your animal friends, by all means. I prefer mingling with those who can hold a conversation, but far be it from me to impose upon you.” A thread of musical notes winding their way through the crowd from some indistinct but clearly northerly direction seemed as good an excuse as any for a topic shift and a pluck at his companion to goad him in that direction. “All that said, I am going dancing, and your solitary tastes aside, you’re welcome to join me if you’ve nothing better to do. Or watch.”

Coeld
As the morning chill started to warm and the sun rose higher into the air, the people seemed to come from all directions, some from their homes and others finally arriving from their travels. Everyone seemed to be in the streets of Coeld, the celebration really starting to take off.
The people who were from Zena knew the routine of the festival of the Frozen Lake. All the merchants and bakers and diners were open, it was a time for relaxing and play. Then later, once the sun began to set, a large bonfire would be set upon the ever frozen lake. The moon would watch, and when night began to shift into morning the moon would whisper the good news of the festival to the sun god Ault - or so the story would be told later that night to the children.
Some of the larger men set to work gathering wood for the fire, the crew receiving their orders and happily taking the time to do what they could to help work towards the sunset.
[The next NPC post will move forward to the sunset and the bonfire.]

Callum Post 3
"I'm from a Sauti native myself, but my partner and I have been living in Zena with his family for the past few years." It was just safer to keep their children in one area as opposed to having them travel all over Tendaji with their fathers. They simply didn't have the stamina for it yet, if they ever even chose to go with them. Callum doubted very highly that Sol would ever leave the snow capped mountains, but Ygraine...he'd have to keep a close eye on her.
Turning his attention from Huyana to Eirlys, Callum couldn't help the softened smile that took over his features. The two seemed so comfortable around each other, and that in itself made him happy for their children. It was so important to have parents who actually cared for each other in a child's life. Or at the very least, ones that didn't outright ignore their kids or bickered all the time.
Callum was so caught up in the pleasantries of conversation that it took him a full minute to process exactly what the little iceling girl had said. To his credit his smile never faltered, though his hand did unconsciously flutter up towards the scars on his neck. "Not everyone's mother is as kind as yours. You're very lucky to have her." He was beyond thinking of it as an 'accident' on his mother's part, but there was no need to let this sweet little girl in on that bit of info.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes I am so sorry that this took so long! Work has been cray cray. Sol - Post Three
A Janarim? "He's really weird." Sol couldn't figure out why any one creature would need armor like that, but maybe they just got into a lot of fights. It would explain the 'sort of cool' and 'sort of terrifying' pair of horns that Polaris sported. He reached out to touch the creature's snout, rubbing his little palm up the length of his muzzle. A little quirk of a smile claimed his face.
Okay, so, maybe this festival wasn't all bad.
Sol turned his gaze back to Hulis, which would have been more obvious if he'd actually possessed pupils. His little antennae stiffened just the slightest bit, but the uncomfortable shuffling his feet made said it all. No one outside of his family had ever said anything 'good' about his eyes, so it was more than a little strange for him to actually be complimented by a stranger. Twice, actually. Once by Hulis' mother and now... "Uh..urm...no?" Momentarily at a loss for a response, the boy struggled for his words. "...thanks, I guess."
A little nudge from his papa prompted Sol to open up a little more. "...do you two like to fly?" Probably not something he should have brought up in front of his papa, but Sol was at a loss. What was he supposed to say to the other kids? He was so used to Ygraine's sass that socializing with anyone else had become difficult.

Huyana Post 4 There was a small laugh as Callum answered him. "Well it's nice to know Zena was top on your list." Huyana was rather proud to know that this man would choose his homeland to settle in.
However, his daughter said something and he had to cough as he turned his attention to her. Huy had a look of dread on his face. "Iriyana. That's not polite to ask." But right after he told his child that she was being rude Callum spoke. So the young man groaned. "I'm sorry, Iriyana doesn't really think before she speaks." With that he turned toward Eiri with a pleading look. Their daughter didn't really listen to him all that well.

Iriyana Post 4 When her father reprimanded her she rolled her eyes at him. Riya huffed and brought her arms back up to cross over her chest. Then the strange man answered her question. His words were enough to make her give him a small frown. So his mother had done that? But why? If her mother had ever tried to do that to Hulis then she'd put a stop to it. So then she wondered... "Don't you have a sister to protect you?" Since Iriyana made herself her twin's protector she couldn't fathom another sister not doing the same for their brother.
The conversation with her brother and the hybrid caught her attention just then. It seemed that Uli liked the boy's eyes. Did that mean he had a crush or simply envied him? For a long moment she watched her sibling then turned her eyes toward Sol. "Dunno, never done it." The most she had ever done was ride on Polaris.

Eirlys- Post 4 The female looked up to Huyana before looking over Polaris' back to her daughter. "Iriyana..." It was a warning tone that both children and beast knew too well. As evidence of Polaris making himself smaller by lowering his head to rest on the ground. Eirlys muttered. "Oops. Sorry, Polaris..." she stroked the beast's back. She smiled at the little ones. "If you were alright with it, Callum. Polaris could carry the kids around a circle." She smiled sweetly at the male. Drawing Huyana's arms around her as she chuckled at her children. "Riya. Manners. I told you before. Scars are stories that some don't wish to boast about."

Hulis- Post 4 The small iceling smiled. "Nope, but I've seen Kinfa! They look amazing!" he heard his mother's tone and shrank a little. Glancing back to his sister. He looked back to Sol. "Have you ever ridden a Janarim before?" He was curious. Hearing his mother the child patted Polaris twice behind a horn. The Janarim lowered his head allowing Hulis to climb on. He looked to his sister. "Wanna go for a ride?"

Kaalnia (Post 3) | ~~~~~~~~~~
The ladies reacted much the same way that the wind (Wind ice? Who knew, it wasn't like Kaalnia could tell) boy had - a shrinking back, a cowering. Kaalnia smirked, not unpleasantly. Hey, who could blame them? She was a big Alkidike, after all, and memories of war were still fresh. The extremists had attacked here first and had interrupted their festival. Also, she'd noticed, Alkidike did not look like the others, wholly different in body, in skin, in... well, everything.
Kaalnia shrugged wonderingly at the looks that the ladies - and the men - gave her. She was exotic, to be sure, but she personally found the exotic attractive. She loved the array of colors that the earthlings sported, their crystals and different-shaped ears. When combined with Alkidike traits, she found them irresistably gorgeous. "Hey, come on ladies, I don't bite!" she called to them.
Funny, wasn't it, that what she was attracted to also repulsed them? They were really missing out. The ladies, having been dissuaded by the men and distracted by her call (giving the poor guy time to escape), scattered back into the late-morning crowds. Kaalnia wasn't disappointed. She shrugged and moved on.
The festival was getting into the swing of things, and Kaalnia saw the perfect oppurtunity to show off - her favorite activity. "Heeey" she said, to the person overseeing the wood-stacking, "Mind if I help?"

Zumei Post 3 "Oh I plan on schooling the youngling at these games," Zumei nodded, stretching to prepare herself for the games. Soon they'd have the bonfire and the rest of the festival, but for now she could focus on the sillier things. Turning back to Aldren, she circled around him and nudged him closer to the booth as well. "No use in you sticking around back there, y'know. We've both got to try our best to win."
