"You didn't?" This was news to Ptolemy. He had assumed that all those of the Order had chosen their path. Why would they choose to be 'good' against their will? It wasn't exactly the easiest option. Perhaps there was more to it that he didn't understand, though; more to the circumstances than could be explained to an outsider. Being compelled by some vague past life's memories, for example.

The dark mirror senshi was drawn from his pondering by the hand on his hip and Baikal's words. "Endure...?" he repeated curiously. His brow furrowed in slight confusion as he watched the page back up. What must he have meant by what some had had to endure? Energy draining? Corruption? Torture? He was just a page, though; how much battle could he have seen? Were those experiences what had made him seem so reluctant to engage in a fight in the first place?

His smile hid concealed his thoughts of concern, however, and Ptolemaeus sneered at Baikal's teasing. "Hey," he called as the blonde turned to go. "If it's thrills you're looking for, then I guess there's no point in my warning you to being cautious. And since you're the one who has more to lose, if you don't care, why should I?" He took a large stride off the wall, reaching out to tug lightly on the other man's scarf in an effort to pull Baikal toward him before speaking in a quiet, low voice for his ears alone.

"You must be really hot under there."

If there's been no attempt to stop him from leaving, Baikal would have been happy to leave those questions unanswered. Leave the senshi with something to wonder about, as maybe a reason to seek him out in the future. Keep him curious.

Instead he felt a tug on the scarf draped around his shoulders at the same time he heard the request to wait, and he stopped, half turnings Prolemaeus stepped up close behind him, voice low and once again inviting next to his ear. The question could have meant one of two things, and the page has a moment to wonder which, his mind flip flopping between two possible responses. Wouldnt you be? losing out to something more suggestive. "Only one way to find out."

Reaching up, he gave the scarf a small tug, loosening it again. "I don't know if it's everyone," he began, pulling at one of his gloves to drag it off his hand. "But when I became a page, no one gave me the power. It was just there, just appeared out of the blue in a time of need." It was the easier of the senshi's questions, the one he could answer without having to worry about any unwelcome emotion leaking into his voice, or ruining the mood.

The other glove followed the first, both held loosely down at his side in one pale hand. "Maybe we should go somewhere else." Not an alley off a busy sidewalk, by somewhere more private.

Ptolemy swiped the scarf from him once Baikal had loosened it. "So you just suddenly became a page and had power you didn't know what to do with?" he asked, perplexed. "And you just...decided to help people with it by default? Read too many comic books or something?"

His gaze fell to the removed gloves in Baikal's hand and he smirked at his suggestion. "Rooftops are pretty romantic, so I hear. And private, for the most part. We could head back up there."

The scarf tightened briefly, soft material sliding along the Page's throat as the senshi pulled it free. Baikal watched it swing in the other man's hands before his lips ticked up in a small smile that wasn't quite a smirk. A little too thoughtful. "Sort of. There was another knight there, he filled me in on what's going on." Babylon was sort of a mentor, someone Baikal owed a great deal to, and his words had carried weight, to an extent. "It's his influence, though I guess I'd rather not see innocent people hurt."

"Who does though?" He shrugged, running the gloves through his free hand again before glancing upward at the suggestion. Whatever seriousness the former topic had brought the the page's features melted away, and he gave an answering smirk before employing the amazing gift of added strength and speed his powers provided to leap back up onto the rooftop.

"Mmm, I see." A grin threatened to split his mouth and eventually he couldn't conceal it any longer. "Boyfriend of yours?" he couldn't help inquiring to tease, doing his best to keep his voice innocent, though his eyes betrayed his amusement.

"I hear some of the Negaverse do," Ptolemaeus answered, thinking seriously on the question. "Not that I know any personally, but I'd think it'd fit their deeds. Sadists would. And sociopaths who lack empathy sometimes find it fascinating." He effortlessly followed the other man with a leap and a bound as he continued to list off people who might have liked to see innocent people hurt. "Not to mention others who hurt. People who are miserable often seek to bring others down to their level so they feel the same pain. Sometimes bringing them to that level makes them feel better about themselves."

Coming up behind the page, the senshi attempted to wrap the scarf about Baikal's head in the same fashion as a blindfold. Simultaneously, he attempted to pull the blonde's coat off just enough to entangle his arms in the fabric and gently apply enough pressure on his shoulders to get him on his knees.

The page gave a snort, shaking his head, but the action was a brief one, cut short as the senshi moved up behind him and looped the pilfered scarf across his eyes. There was a startled second of resistance against the tug of his jacket and the downward push, but he sank to his knees a moment after, yielding. He had been baiting the other man, after all.

"You have a point, though all the Negaverse I've met have been pretty normal." If they were supposed o be the villains in this war, Baikal just didn't see it. Jet was a little short tempered, but he certainly wasn't evil, and Amphitrite...

She was pushed gently out of his thoughts, along with all the rest. He didn't think this conversation was going to continue much longer.

That earned a laugh from Ptolemaeus. "'Normal', huh? I'd love to find out what your definition of that term is, especially since you're a page of Order. I guess normal to you must be being fine with draining civilian energy. Or flirting with enemies. Or doing more."

He continued to grin, enjoying the look of the page blindfolded by his own scarf. He could have just left him there like that, but Ptolemy wasn't that cruel. Not to mention he himself was feeling too needy by then to just leave things as they were.

"If this is how you usually 'defeat' your opponents, though, I have to say I'm impressed. That's definitely using your resources to your advantage." He groped Baikal's a** for emphasis. "Very distracting, crafty, and pretty damn effective."

He laughed, though there was something a little breathless about it. His heart rate had certainly picked back up, rising once again until he could hear his own pulse in his ears beneath the voice of the senshi still standing behind him. "Normal, as in not murderous or malicious." Which was a fairly broad generalization, he knew, but still true. The words inscribed along the inside of his signet ring still rang true, 'balance is grey'. There was no black and white, only shades of grey.

"Would you believe this is a first for me?" The grin he flashed was slightly self deprecating, and there was a telltale wash of color rising up the column of his throat and lighting across pale features. Not bashful, just... flustered. "But whatever works, right?"

He doubted Babylon would approve, but honestly, he was finding it hard to care just then.
