Naiya went down a hallway and kept walking until she found herself at a decent sized window. She was well aware now that the Misdreavus was not going to leave her alone. She sighed, waiting for Xena to contact her again. Knowing soon they would. She hoped. She didn't want to go back into that strange place again. The darkness was not her friend. She sat on the window sill, prepared to jump and hope that it wouldn't kill her in the fall, when screams pierced the air. She jumped and jerked around, slipping onto her stomach on the wall. But at least she wasn't dead right? She stood looking sideways over the world. She looked around, trying to find where the screams had come from, but she would have to go around the building to try and find it... Twisting around, she didn't see the strange colored misdreavus, so she started the upwards climb towards the floor her starter and Kenichi were on.
Xena had found some stairs shortly down the hall, and she and kenichi had started down them when the screams went off. Xena started sprinting down the stairs. Hoping it wasn't Naiya, even though she was sure there had been more than one but not knowing where Naiya was had her freaking out. She even started making noises. "Xena! Calm down, I don't think it's her.... Are you? Gekkering? Really?" Kenichi asked, Xena snapped his way, "Of course! I don't have proof that it's not Naiya! And neither do you! Let's just find her." The fox said as straight as she could. Kenichi shrugged and took off down the stairs. Past Xena.
Naiya found herself to the floor above the one she had been on. She opened the window and dove inside, as best as she could at least, the dive turned into a belly flop on the floor. "Ungggg.... That hurt..." She groaned as she stood up, hand on her mid section. She wanted to find whoever was in trouble. Wanted to be able to help. But didn't think she would be any help without Kenichi or Xena. Moving forwards, she hoped to see her pokemon soon. "Don't worry. They are near by. You'll see them soon." The voice chuckled. "Why don't you come out here already?! I know you are out there!" Naiya responded. She hated being in this dark place. And the Misdreavus was picking on her, hit her nerves harder than she wanted to admit.

Rose could not help but scream, almost in unison with Isis. This was absolutely terrifying. Of course, of all people this could happen to, it had to happen to her. And at the worst time, too. Fynx was not around to save her. No warm, fluffy arms to hold her and protect her. It made the situation even more horrifying for her, being away from her starter.
Even worse, all Rose could think of were the tales her cousins told her of this beast. Giratina, a legendary ghost so violent that it was locked away into its own dimension. They told her that it comes out every now and then to consume human souls. So… many things. Luckily for Rose, she was not able to think too much on them, as the situation escalated.
She scrambled back towards Raja and the others, but she still felt a heavy feeling surrounding her. Rye moved in front of Rose, but he knew he was not able to battle the being before them. His fur bristled anyways, hoping that even his small presence before her would make his trainer feel better.
“F I G H T N O W . . .”
Rose whimpered, fumbling at her belt and throwing out a pokemon before her. A large dinosaur made his appearance before them. “R-Rex! T-time to b-b-battle!” Rose struggled to inform her pokemon. The large dino looked around, rather confused and unconcerned by the legendary pokemon before him.
Rex was perplexed. Where the heck was he? The structures were not even making the slightest of sense. And what was this large, brightly colored being before him? A challenger? The ancient beast turned his large head to look back at his puny trainer and her friends. They all seemed to be terrified. But… this was not a room full of meat. He vaguely recalled when he was much smaller, he was in a situation like this, but there was meat everywhere. Now, there was not any meat. A low grumble escaped his throat. If he was going to fight, he better be getting rewarded for it.
“P-please Rex?” Rose desperately urged her pokemon to battle. The dinosaur seemed like he sighed, but let out a brief burst of air from his nostrils before turning back to the Giratina. Rex accepted that he must battle, but he expected an explanation and a reward after. He stepped forward, ducking his head as he let out a ferocious roar at the opponent.
The giratina’s ghostly tendrils extended threateningly, a ghastly sound escaping it in response to the dinosaur’s roar. The air felt thick with mal intent as the two stared each other down. Since his trainer did not seem like she was capable of ordering him around, Rex decided to take matters into his own hands. The dinosaur jumped forward, slamming a rock solid foot down on Giratina’s tail with a Stomp attack. Giratina screeched, flinching in pain as it struggled to turn around and fight back. Since that worked out so well for him, Rex decided to jump up for another stomp on the legendary creature. This time, with a roar, Giratina fought back, whipping around and using it’s blade like head to slash at the dino. It was a heavy hit, and sent Rex stumbling back.
As if the dino and the screaming was not annoying enough, there was a human flinging about in the air near Giratina. It was like a buzzing little fly. As the legendary prepared for another round, one of it’s tendrils stretched out towards the white haired human male, swatting it out of the air and into the ground like a pesky mosquito. Giratina’s cold, silver gaze followed the human as they hit the ground nearby. The male then did a strange hand gesture, holding up an arm and one thumb while his face was still plastered against the ground. Humans… are weird…
Giratina returned it’s attention to the dinosaur, who was now circling it. That dino was proving tough, even in this whacky place Giratina called home. The ancient beast’s trainer, however… She was still cowering by her friends. A tiny ghost cat floating in front of her. And a larger, stronger cat pokemon of the same line was ‘protecting’ them. Giratina rumbled in amusement. It was funny that the pokemon was trying to use a ward like that here. It literally was not strong enough to keep it out if it really tried. However, for the time being, the legendary allowed the humans to believe that they were ‘untouchable’ in that silly little circle.
With the help of Atona’s comforting, Fynx was able to settle down after crying for a bit. It was really hard for her to keep her cool in this situation. The last time she had been separated from her trainer was… well, not a good experience at all. For anyone. She was worried at what might happen to Rose without her, or what the girl might do on her own. The delphox knew how reckless the girl could be at times. All the times during their adventure together, where she would have to take care of minor cuts and scrapes. Who knows what kind of trouble she would get herself into in this place? Fynx finally pulled her face away from Atona’s shoulder as he gave her a gentle nudge. After straightening up, the old dog wiped away her tears with a paw. If she was in better spirits, she would have had a sassy remark to what he said to her. However, the Delphox merely smiled. “Thank you, Atona.” Taking his paw, Fynx followed Atona along through the wacky environment.
They both froze when a distant scream sounded in the distance. Fynx’s ears perked right up, eyes wide with worry. That was not just one scream, either, that they heard echoing in the distance. Her fur bristled as Atona also pinpointed the direction of the scream. Fynx wasted no time to run with the lucario towards the sound. However, with every leap and bound, she felt a sense of dread growing heavier.

Olivia seemed rather surprised that he was a dragon tamer, though watching her expression, her surprise settled quickly into acceptance. Vince just gave a quiet chuckle. "I guess if you saw more of my team it would be more obvious." He shrugged. Her surprise wasn't offensive, in fact Vince did go a little more out of the way than necessary to hide his...... Heritage, so the fact that she was surprised was probably a good sign, a sign that it was working. He admitted that, while noibat weren't his favorite dragons, this one in particular was growing on him, and reminded him of Olivia. The pinkette snorted slightly at that, asking if it was because she was cute, making a point of fluffing her hair playfully to emphasize her comment. "I was thinking more quirky and persistent, annoyingly so....." Vince smirked slightly, unable to help teasing her a bit for her vain display. Honestly though, he wasn't sure what traits he specifically tied between the noibat and Olivia. He supposed it was the fact that he was growing fond of both of them. Vince suggested naming the noibat after Olivia, or as he knew her, Olive, and Olivia seemed to agree that she was worthy of the food name. Vince chuckled a bit at that, though he suggested that perhaps it would get confusing if they both had the same name, so Olivia suggested her real name instead. "Olivia....? Hm." Vince thought it over. It was close, and it did seem fitting, though Vince had to chuckle as Olivia continued to push the cuteness to them. "Very well, Olivia it is." He agreed, watching as she cooed and pet the noibat. At this rate, it was Olivia who would be adopting the Noibat from him.
Soon however, they had reached a dead end, or so they thought. Traversing through strange gravity to continue on their path, Vince grew irritated with Olivia's teasing until the subject finally changed to the scenery around them. It was quite a sight, intimidating, nonsensical, and yet rather beautiful to behold. A picture that Viola would kill to capture, one word more than a thousand words.... One they likely wouldn't be able to capture again in a thousand lifetimes. Vince joked that they could offer Viola a trade, but Olivia suggested that they keep the picture for themselves, since it would likely sell for quite a bit. "Heh. Who said we can't make multiple copies?" He suggested with an amused grin, opening up his xtransciever and taking a few snapshots of the world around them. It couldn't make any calls, but the camera function was a different matter entirely. A roar in the distance halted Vince's photography session however, and he turned his focus to the temperamental tyrunt. The battle seemed more akin to that of a tauros fight than anything else. Each time the tyrunt charged at Vince, he swiftly stepped aside and deflected the attack with the flat of his blade until it was tired out enough for capture. Olivia likened Vince to a knight, since he was besting dragons with his blade, suggesting that next he would be looking for princesses in castles. The very notion made Vince shake his head and sigh, insisting that he just knew how to handle dragons, and that was the end of it. Thankfully she gave him a genuine compliment, which he appreciated, in spite of what his modest reply indicated. Still, he felt the need to defend himself, insisting that he didn't carry a sword for show, but Olivia hadn't thought he was the type. She had been uncertain of his skill until now though.
With that settled though, their problems only continued to increase as screams rang out in the distance, the cause of which being the monstrous, albeit brightly colored, giratina floating by a different section of the broken terrain far down below. Vince was frozen in shock and awe, hesitating and unsure what to do. It wasn't until Olivia called him out of his temporary paralysis that he came to his senses somewhat. She insisted that they needed to help and took off in the general direction. "Olive!" Vince ran after the pinkette, though his aim was to prevent her from doing something foolish rather than joining in her heroic advancement. It didn't take long to catch up to Olivia before he attempted to halt her, stepping in her way and taking her shoulders in his hands. It was clear he was still wide eyed in shock, but that didn't stop him from trying to be sensible here. "Stop!" He insisted. "Do you have any idea what that creature is?! We're as good as dead if we go down there without thinking things through, and even then, we likely don't stand a chance...." He insisted, glancing hesitantly back towards the giratina. "I'm not even entirely certain there's a way we can navigate a way over there, much less in enough time to do anything. Whether we like it or not, they're on their own..... May Arceus have mercy on their souls." Vince said soberly.

✿ ❀ Isis struggled to comfort the two girls best she could in such a difficult situation. It was more of a struggle because she was quite frightened as well, but she had to hold strong for Rose and Du. Both were younger than she was, and Isis felt obligated to play the role of the adult figure here. That job grew infinitely harder however when Rose happened to invoke the wrath of a neon colored giratina. Isis and Rose both screamed in unison while Dumuzi fainted into Isis' arms, keeping her busy while Rose attempted to fight the legendary off with her tyrantrum. Raja was busy maintaining her sacred circle because, while in the normal world, in a place like Mount Pyre, Raja was able to leave her consecrated mark and trust that the ghosts would leave Isis alone, this realm was giratina's. It was taking all of Raja's strength just to maintain the sacred circle, and she couldn't leave it at the risk that the giratina would attack the weak seal. If that happened, Raja needed to be there to provide extra defenses with her wisps and, if all else failed, her body. She refused to allow such a malevolent spirit harm her trainer. As the giratina fought with Rex, Isis stared fearfully at the brightly colored beast and noticed a figure flying around and screaming near the giratina's head. Isis' focus shifted on the figure and her eyes squinted. Was that.... Zero?
Before Isis could really distinguish the figure, the giratina swatted the figure away into the ground a little ways away from their circle. The boy's silver hair and the cosmic gardevoir beside him was unmistakable. "Zero!" Isis called out fearfully, attempting to scramble over towards the boy, but she wasn't sure what to do with Dumuzi in her arms, and Raja was quick to usher her back down. "Isis, no! You need to stay with me." The wispard insisted. "But what about Zero?!" Isis countered, though when she looked over to the silver haired male, he seemed to be holding a thumb up to indicate he was okay. Isis' concern somewhat faltered, and Raja made a rumbling noise that sounded something like a low, hollow chuckle. "He will be fine, and join us shortly I'm sure. Right now the best thing you can do is stay here." Raja reasoned, but Isis was still concerned for Zero's safety. She couldn't go to him, and Raja couldn't leave, but she could send another pokemon to go get him. "Hylia, we need you!" Isis called, tossing another pokeball out towards Zero and releasing the zelda themed aegislash. She was a defensive pokemon, her king's shield would help defend Zero if he was attacked, and she could carry him over to the rest of them in the meantime.
The sword and shield floated near the silver haired male and looked expectantly at Isis for an explanation, but noticing the brightly colored giratina in their midst and Zero's body laying on the ground in shock, she had some sort of idea. "Can you bring him here Hylia?" Isis pleaded, and the aegislash tilted her handle towards Isis in what seemed like a nod. She hovered over the silver haired boy and unfurled her scarf-like arms before scooping Zero up in them and hoisting the boy up, dragging him to the rest of the group. In the meantime, Isis propped Dumuzi up against Raja and fanned her with her hands, hoping that she would recover soon. As soon as Zero was close enough to the group, Isis helped Hylia pull him into the protected area and allowed the pokemon to drop him into her arms. "Thank you.... Would you mind fanning my friend here? She's fainted and I think your scarf would produce more air than my hands." Isis asked sheepishly. The aegislash obeyed, thankfully not seeming to be offended by the request. Her scarf arms billowed as if a strong wind blew threw them, producing cool air to blow against Dumuzi's face while Isis tended to Zero. He certainly seemed out of sorts, but Nova was on her way. Hopefully she would be able to help Zero and Du. "Just hang on...." Isis insisted quietly to the two of them.
Atona was worried that Fynx would continue to panic, which would render them unable to do anything productive, but thankfully she eventually settled, albeit breaking down into tears. Atona continued to soothe her as best he could, murmuring reassurances and wiping away her tears until she finally calmed down. With a sniffle, she thanked him and took his paw, accepting that they needed to stay strong and start looking for their trainers. Atona smiled softly and began walking with her, but a pair of familiar screams set them both off again in the direction of their trainers. As terrifying as it was, at least they had some direction and clue as to where their trainers were, even if getting there was difficult. They had to jump across rocks and work with the strange gravity fields around them, but eventually Atona saw them, as well as a giant ghostly neon monstrosity fighting them nearby. No wonder Isis and Rose had been screaming their heads off... By the looks of it, Zero and Dumuzi were unconscious for one reason or another too. Atona came to a stop as he and Fynx reached a dead end, without a reasonable path to their trainers. Atona stared hard at the gap between the two floating land masses and grimaced, turning to Fynx. "Do you trust me....?" He asked calmly and sternly, taking her paws in his. Fynx looked bewildered, clearly still paniking due to the danger her trainer was in. "Fynx, I know your psychic powers are unstable here, but if we work together, we might just be able to carry ourselves over to that other plain." He insisted. "Do you trust me?" He asked again, somehow more sincerely than before. When Fynx finally agreed, Atona pulled her closer. "Jump!" He barked, thrusting them off of the side of the plateau and using as much of his psychic energy as he could muster to carry them against the waves of ever shifting gravity towards the group of trainers. ✿ ❀

Zero continued to scream the one, unending profanity as he was flung around whipping towards the Giratina before slingshoting from the other side, as if he was in some kind of orbit around the creature. It certainly wouldn’t have been surprising, this being Giratina’s domain it wouldn’t be that shocking to hear the whole world gravitated towards it. But, Zero didn’t have time to think about that, as he tried to compose himself and figure out a way to land. His train of thought was cut almost immediately short, however, as something thick and heavy suddenly crashed into him, striking his spine and hitting him with enough force to stop all of his momentum. He barely had time to register what was going on, before he found himself hurdling back towards the platform, causing it to fracture and form a crater upon impact. He bounced a few inches off of it, blood spurting out from his mouth, before he came back down and stopped, his body now aching everywhere from such a sudden impact. He heard Isis call out to him, but he hadn’t the strength to respond, finding himself only able to move the one arm. He brought it up over his head, shakily forming a fist before raising his thumb, giving a thumbs up to confirm that he was alright, or, alive at least. He also partially directed it towards the Giratina, while he didn’t much care for the landing, he did appreciate being brought back down to relatively normal gravity, before he developed motion sickness. He dropped it soon after however, his strength already at its limit just keeping him awake.
He was only partially conscious when Hylia was thrown out and hovered over him, pulling him up and carrying him over to the magic circle which Isis and company were situated. He could feel something wash over him as he was pulled through, like a ward enveloping his whole body as he was put into Isis’ arms. Spurts of blood drew lines down his chin, even dotting parts of his jacket as he tried to open one of his eyes, looking up at the blurry visage of Isis. He opened his mouth to speak, say something to calm her down, but nothing escaped his lips, causing him to only exhale an exhausted sigh. Not long after, Nova finally made it into the circle Raja had erected, rushing to Zero’s side as he rested in Isis’ arms. “I’m sorry, Zero…” she muttered, as her hands reached out to press against her trainer. The healing glow that the silver-haired trainer knew well by this point once again emerged, enveloping everyone in the circle, but her main focus was on Zero. The arm he didn’t move was broken, bone snapped cleanly in two, but gradually reformed back into place, while various areas of his internal organs were either bleeding or received complications from the impact. She did her best to get those fixed, before moving to take care of the damage done to his head. Fortunately it didn’t take as much damage as she’d previously thought; his skull just cracked slightly and he cut the inside of his cheek, nothing she wasn’t able to take care of immediately. Once he was fully healed, the glow faded, and Nova fell back onto her side, physically and mentally drained by what she’d just done. She wasn’t used to doing such thorough healing repeatedly in a short period of time, and she’d made sure to fix any smaller injuries the girls had while she worked, leaving the Gardevoir without even the energy to stand anymore.
After a few moments, both of Zero’s eyes finally opened again, as he attempted to sit up, but found Isis still holding him tightly. He looked up at her again, gaze then shifting to Nova in her exhausted state, and then simply stared down at himself, apologetically. “…I’m sorry, you two.” Was all he could think to say, feeling like he’d failed at something once again. Once again he tried to get to his feet, this time successfully after attempting to regain his balance. He flexed his arms to make sure they were working properly again, then shook his head to fade as much of the disorientation as possible. “Alright, what’s going on? We didn’t see or feel this thing until just before you guys started screaming.” He pulled out the pokedex from his bag, happy to see that it wasn’t cracked or anything from all the hard falls today. Though, when he flipped it open to inspect the pokemon in front of them, he grimaced to find the screens grainy and faded, the displays glitching slightly as the Distortion World interfered with the electronics. Still, he managed to get the thing to scan the legendary well enough, though he was rather perplexed when the typing’s display came up. Despite the Giratina being Ghost/Dragon… the weaknesses were all wrong. The typing’s strengths were inverted with the weaknesses, causing Zero some confusion, but considering how this world had operated thus far, it wasn’t too much a stretch to assume even type effectiveness was backwards.
He let out a deep sigh, then readjusted himself once more, eyes slitting and tuning Zero into a battling-mindset. He glanced over to Nova, the Gardevoir slowly beginning to recover. “Nova, stay here and keep them safe. Erect a barrier if you can.” The astral-clad pokemon looked at her trainer for a moment, still catching her breath, but nodding regardless. She took a deep breath, and let her psychic powers recoup just a bit more, before she began to glow once again, and a clear, transparently pink barrier covered the entire group, a bubble that extended just past the limits of Raja’s circle. “…Thanks, Nova.” He couldn’t help but smile a bit; happy that Nova was still willing to put up with everything he needed her for, but a touch sad as well, knowing full well this was forcing her to her mental limits. “Hopefully we’ll wrap this up quickly.” And with that, he turned towards the legendary, stepping out of the barriers without much resistance. He walked a few feet, then his hands fell to his sides, unclipping two pokeballs from his belt. “Agi, Ashen, time to get to work!”

Rose’s throat hurt from screaming. She was terrified, and had no idea how to direct her pokemon in this state. Rex seemed to be doing pretty well without her telling him what to do, so, that was good. She kept mumbling to herself that everything was going to be alright as long as she was in this circle, but she was too scared to fully believe that. The red head looked up when she heard a guy yelling, noticing Zero being flung about in the air. And then being swatted aside by the Giratina. She covered her mouth and shrank back even more, concerned. “R-rex can do this…” she muttered to herself, trying to reassure herself as Isis had Hylia bring Zero over.
With Zero, came Nova, the elegant gardevoir. Luckily, she had enough healing power to take care of his wounds. Rose hardly noticed some of her small bruises and scrapes disappeared as well. She was still terrified of the large ghost looming nearby. Hugging her knees, she continued to try not to break down.
Rex continued to circle Giratina, looking for an opening. It was wise to his stomp attack now, so the dinosaur had something else in mind for his next move. Ignoring that the Giratina had swatted someone out of the air nearby, Rex found an opening, lunging forward and clamping his strong jaws down on Giratina’s side. However, it’s hide was really tough, even for Rex’s incredibly tough Crunch attack. Giratina rumbled in annoyance, swatting the dino off of it with it’s tendrils.
That was it. No more playing around. Giratina narrowed it’s eyes on Rex, then lashed out with it’s bladed head again, Slashing the dino. It was too much for the ancient reptile, causing him to tumble back. Out cold.
“REX!” Rose screeched in horror as he went down. This was bad. Who did she send out next? She fumbled about to return the dino, feeling hot tears of fear running down her cheeks. The rest of her pokemon… she felt that they were not big enough or strong enough to go up against Giratina. She did not want to be left to watch as each of her pokemon got knocked down, just like at the ball. Rex was finally returned to his ball, but she trembled as she tried to figure out what to do. If only Fynx was here…
Giratina turned it’s silver gaze to the red haired trainer. How pathetic. “F I G H T” it demanded, but the red head merely flinched. An eerie exhale escaped the ghost, followed up by a low growl. The male seemed to have recovered and had sent out his own pokemon, looking ready to fight. It had enough of this. Two dark tendrils shot forward, going right through the new pink barrier and the ward as if they were nothing. One wrapped around Rose, the other wrapped around Isis, yanking them out of their ‘safe zone’. It held the two females up, squeezing them a bit as it stared at the two. They were so terrified. How delightful.
Rose shrieked as she was grabbed. “FYNX!!” she cried out, even though she knew her starter wasn’t anywhere nearby. So much for trying not to break down. Now in the grasp of Giratina, Rose was freaking out, sobbing and squirming, trying to reach for anything in her bag to throw at the beast.
Rye leapt forward as his trainer was grabbed, growling. He was not strong enough – he was fully aware, but he could not stand aside and do nothing. The flurry latched on to the tendril, biting and clawing at it with all he had. While it was a noble act, unfortunately, it did not help Rose get free. Giratina merely shook him off, flinging Rye off to the side. The cat struggled to get up again, but felt too weak to move.
Fynx kept up with Atona, traversing the varying landscape. They had to hop from rock to rock at some points and work with how gravity seemed to change on a whim. The sounds grew louder- screaming, roars, growls, and slamming. And then Fynx saw them. She could see Rose, Isis, the rest of the group on a floating land mass. And a large, brightly colored beast looming over them, fighting Rex. That was the source… the source of that horrible feeling. “ROSE!” she barked, but of course, was not heard. She felt like she was falling apart again as they reached a dead end. There was nothing that could get her to her trainer from this land mass. No chunks of floating rocks or anything.
Just as Fynx was starting to panic, Atona held his paw out to her, asking her if she trusted him. “Wh-what?” She gekkered, fur bristled. What… what was this old dog on about now? She blinked as he insisted that they could work together and focus their powers to carry them over to where the trainers were. And then asked again if she trusted him. She nodded in agreement, taking his paw firmly. The delphox jumped with Atona, assisting with her own psychic powers.
On their way over, however, Fynx’s ears twitched as she heard Rose cry out her name desperately. Her blue gaze looked ahead, seeing that the horrible monster had Rose in it’s grip, as well as Isis. “A-atona…” The fox felt scared for a moment. What if they didn’t make it in time? Her assist faltered for a moment. No. That was unacceptable. She squeezed Atona’s paw hard, gritting her teeth. Her aura suddenly seemed like a bonfire as she let forth a burst of psychic energy that boosted them the rest of the way to the island rather quickly.
As soon as their paws hit the ground, Fynx wasted no time charging forward. She turned her head slightly to give Atona a serious look, conveying that she was counting on his help. That extra burst took quite a bit out of her, even if she had plenty of bite left in her. The Delphox ran right up to the Giratina, snarling. “PUT THEM DOWN!!!” she demanded, the air around her growing hot as her fur bristled. That grabbed Giratina’s attention, which is what she wanted. Now there was an opening for Atona, even as it raised it’s other tendrils, about ready to attack.

Discoveries were being made left and right though, admittedly, the one Vince revealed wasn’t the biggest one thus far, Olivia still couldn’t help but be surprised; it wasn’t that hard to imagine, however, which allowed her to accept the information more easily. “Yeah, seeing them might’ve given me a clue or two,” she jokingly agreed. Thinking back on it, of the few pokemon she had seen, they had all been dragons, with the exception of Huang Chen, whose later evolution would include a dragon-typing-- well, if it had a mega stone. Olivia pursed her lips gently when, upon further thought, she realized that Xiu Feng, Vince’s little watchdog, was a dragon as well, which made Blue one as well-- one of the many mysteries surrounding the pokemon had been solved, though she’d await further questioning until after they’d managed to find a way out. When it came to naming Vince’s newly acquired Noibat, Olivia couldn’t help but to chuckle when he suggested naming it after her, if only because of their personality similarities-- not for physical descriptions, as she had suggested. She couldn’t help but give an over dramatic gasp when she was called annoying, one hand fluttering up to her chest. “But, I’m growing on you,” she pointed out, ‘shock’ transforming into a somewhat cocky and victorious smirk. Since it’d prove too confusing to have two ‘Olive’s’ she eventually suggested that the Noibat be named Olivia, which was a tad ironic since that was her real name, Vince just didn’t know that. “Congratulations on the new name, Olivia,” she said with a laugh, eventually drawing her hand away from the little Noibat.
Through a bit of shenanigans, though that was putting it lightly, they managed to get onto the next platform, quite literally proving that nothing could stop them from moving forward. Not even something as small as little, like a few comments or two that set Vince in a bit of a mood. Though it helped to ease away his irritation when she mentioned the landscape, and as crooked and unnerving as it was, it also managed to hold a beauty of its own. Something Viola would truly appreciate, perhaps even enough to trade for a gym badge, as Vince suggested. It was a good idea, but one that could be expanded and turned to an profit, say selling one of the pictures to the highest bidder. Olivia perked up, however, when Vince expanded the idea, playing along and asking why just stop at one picture. “Good idea!” she laughed then followed his direction, pulling out her malfunctioning XTransceiver to begin snapping a few photos of the Distortion World, making sure to take pictures of the same image at different angles, like a true photographer, she imagined. “Hey, you know what we should do?” she asked, mid-snap, “we oughta take a picture together, with this in the background. It could be, like, a Christmas or greeting card to send to the folks.” Before they could continue their tour, a raging Tyrunt came charging in, interrupting them. Vince dealt with it, rather successfully at that, before it could cause any damage to itself or them, and once it’d been captured Olivia approached him, dealing playful compliments and then finally a genuine one, which she believed he accepted; it was a tad difficult to tell. What wasn’t difficult, however, was seeing that Vince wasn’t the type to unnecessarily broadcast something, and certainly not one to flaunt something he didn’t necessarily have, which she assured him about when he brought it up.
Things just couldn’t remain uneventful, however, no that would be too boring, and Olivia found herself looking around wildly when several screams echoed throughout the rift. The cause of it was understanding, seeing as how, a few islands away, there was a circus colored Giritina cornering a few trainers. Seeing the legendary, even from far away, was impressive and certainly helped to connect a few dots. Although she hadn’t done any extensive research on the legendary, she’d done enough to know that the ghost had been banned to another world, opposite of the one humans and pokemon lived in, for its volatile nature. A world that was disproportionate to their own, and the one they were currently residing in. Despite knowing this, her first instinct was to run straight at the beast, but only after calling to Vince for back-up. Her feet pounded against the ground and as she ran she continued to cast worried glances in the direction of the figures Giritina was looming over. Right, she didn't have an exact plan to combat such a frightening entity, but… Briefly, her head snapped back when Vince called out to her, in, what she originally thought, was a confirmation call that he was coming. That was far from the truth, unfortunately, and she could only watch as Vince ran past her, stopped, and turned around to physically stop her. Wide blue eyes peered through her pink bangs so that she could look up at him-- damn his height! Olivia clenched her teeth and fists, clearly frustrated with what he was telling her, even when it made absolute and total sense, he was being logical.
That was what made it even more aggravating, however. “How could you even think about leaving those people to defend themselves?!” she practically yelled, just barely managing to rein herself in at the last moment. In this situation she knew that Vince was right, there was absolutely no way they could even get down to where those trainers were, and even if they could it wasn’t as if she even had a plan to deal with Giritina; Olivia was running on pure emotion and instinct, she had no time for logic. And yet… With an irritated smack of the lips the pinkette tore her eyes away from Vince and settled them down onto the ground, balled up hands still shaking. “..Fine,” she admitted defeat, but if only because she knew that, if she went down there gallivanting and trying to play the hero, she’d only end up causing more damage. Olivia closed her eyes and took a breath, forcing herself to calm down, before she stepped back and away from Vince. “Let’s just continue on then. We still need to find a way out of here,” she muttered bitterly and then lifted her head to look directly ahead, not even giving herself the option of looking elsewhere.

Now there's that tyrunt I suppose." Vince said thoughtfully. "I also have a dratini, deino, kingdra, and dragalge that you haven't met yet." Vince counted them off. He would have been happy to show her all of them, but now was not the time or place. He thought about his other dragons and decided that he should probably name his newest addition, jokingly suggesting naming the noibat after Olivia, or "Olive" as he knew her, since they were similar. After teasing Olivia for her vain comment, Vince chuckled at her dramatic gasp and mock offense, at least until she pointed out that his comparison meant she was growing on him too. Admittedly, that had been one of the things he had seen and didn't want to say aloud. Vince averted his gaze as Olivia's countenance took on a victorious smirk, growing irritated again, though it was only because she was right and she knew it. Vince refused to give her the satisfaction of confirming it verbally though. "Hmph." He responded simply, crossing his arms to show his displeasure and changing the subject to the fact that giving his noibat the same name as the pinkette would likely cause some confusion. Olivia then suggested her true name, unbeknownst to Vince, and after some deliberation, Vince accepted. It was rather pretty after all, he quite liked it.
After being named at last, Olivia was congratulated by her namesake along with some rubs of her head, which she purred and leaned into until the hand was withdrawn. Afterwards she finished her berry, gave a yawn, and curled up on Olivia's shoulder, seemingly ready for a nap to digest her meal. Vince returned the little dragon for now so she would be at peace, and just in time too, since they had to deal with strange changes in gravity, as well as an unruly tyrunt soon after. For a time, things seemed to settle down at last, and the two unlikely travel partners talked ideas of taking pictures of the strange world they were in and what they should do with said photos. There were many options; trading the pictures to Viola for a badge, or selling them for money, but Vince suggested that they didn't need to just stop at one picture. After all, they could always make several copies. Olivia seemed to like his thinking, and after her laughter died down, she joined him in taking pictures of the Distortion World. It had served as a nice reprieve from the tensions they were feeling before, and while Vince enjoyed taking the pictures, when Olivia suggested they should take a picture together for a Christmas Card, Vince grimaced and shied away from the idea. "If you want to, then go ahead, but kindly leave me out of it. I wouldn't want my parents to get the wrong idea...." He insisted uncomfortably. It was only a half truth. He had teased Olivia a bit by making sure she wasn't camera shy before she challenged Viola, but in actuality he wasn't all that comfortable with people taking pictures of him. Not to mention he would be mortified if his parents or grandparents saw the picture, since they were the types to automatically assume Olivia was in a relationship with him.
A scream, or rather, a few screams snapped him out of his embarrassment though, and looking in the direction where the screams came from, Vince saw something that shook him to the core. A giratina, oddly colored perhaps, but nonetheless terrifying, knowing what it was. He was rooted to the spot, struggling between his instincts of both fight and flight until Olivia decisively charged forward, calling for Vince to follow. After that, Vince's instincts were able to work together, this time to protect Olivia from running headfirst into a situation they could by no means handle. He ran past her–a feat in of itself, as the woman had been running pretty damn fast–and stopped in front of her to block the way. He insisted that charging in down there, especially without a plan, was a death wish. Not to mention he wasn't even sure they could safely reach them, which meant that those people, whoever they were, were on their own. Olivia lashed out in frustration at him, something Vince expected. He allowed her to accuse him, his face a hard mask as he turned to watch the group in the distance. The goliath of a pokemon struck a tyrantrum down like it was nothing, and then swatted a trainer out of the air and into the ground. He didn't answer her rhetorical question, allowing her time to calm down and think on his words. She had to know that he was right, she just needed to come to terms with it. With an annoyed smack of her lips, she admitted defeat, and Vince finally turned to face her again. She distanced herself though as she suggested they move on and continue to try and find a way out, clearly averting her gaze from the battle below. She didn't have the stomach to watch he supposed, and he didn't blame her.
For a time, there was silence as they walked, the tension palpable. Vince actually felt rather awkward. Normally he would have enjoyed the silence, after all it had felt like they'd been talking nonstop ever since they had gotten together, but.... This was different. They made their way down the plain, and soon they reached a stretch of houses. Peeking into a few windows, Vince determined than it seemed none of them were actually inhabited currently. ".....Hey, Olive." He spoke up at last. "Why don't we go inside one of these houses...? I know you want to find an exit as soon as possible but... We don't know how long we'll be stuck here, so it might be a good idea to look for food while there's an opportunity." He suggested quietly, running a hand through his hair with a light sigh. Frankly he wasn't all that hungry, but maybe sitting down at a table, eating a meal, and having a little normalcy in all this craziness would help ease her stress. Vince tried the door of one of the houses, somewhat surprised when it opened, but he turned back to Olivia. "I promise, this will just take a minute." He insisted, holding the door for her.

✿ ❀ Isis held Zero close, seeing and feeling him struggle to say something. "Shh.... Save your strength..." Isis consoled him quietly, brushing hair from his face gently as he sighed tiredly. After what felt like hours, Nova finally arrived to help her trainer with several well placed heal pulses. Isis watched her work intently, and when Zero finally opened his eyes, she let go of a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. He tried to sit up, but Isis clung to him, hugging him tight with relief and worry, making it harder for him to adjust his current position. Still, he apologized, and Isis retracted a bit, looking at Zero with a confused expression. She wasn't sure what he was apologizing for, but before she could ask, he took advantage of her release to stand up at last, giving the legend a scan with his pokedex. "Rose angered this spirit by breaking an orb know as the Reverse Orb, now it seeks vengence through battle. I had felt it's presence before, but I believe it has been lurking in the shadows until now." The wispard filled Zero in when he asked. As scared as Isis was, ever the opportunist, she shakily grabbed her camera and began taking pictures of the beast before her while Zero jumped into the fray with Agi and Ashen. Rose was certainly going to need some back up against this legend. It only dawned on Isis now that she was finished screaming her head off and worrying about Zero that she should probably try and help battle the giratina too.
Nova put up a weak barrier to bolster their defenses while Isis debated what pokemon she could use to fight the legendary ghost, but before she could think too much on it, she flinched as the giratina surged forward to slash Rose's tyrantrum again, this time knocking him out cold. Rose panicked, and she had a right to. Her pokemon had been knocked out so easily, and now the giratina was staring her down, continuing to demand that she fight. Isis desperately began to dig through her bag for a stronger pokemon to challenge the ghost, but before she could grab a pokeball, she suddenly found herself snatched up in one of the giratina's tendrils along with Rose. Isis shrieked and struggled in the coil as Rose called out for her starter, and Rye gallantly tried to free Rose, only to be thrust aside. Raja quickly went after her kin, picking him up by the scruff of the neck and bringing him back to her circle, though at this point, it seemed clear that it did no good.... Setting the cub down gently, Raja turned to the ghost, growling and fur bristling. The wisps surrounding her suddenly lurched at the neon giratina, each impact igniting a burning blue flame that spread like wildfire across the ghosts body. "Burn to ash you vile worm!" She hissed, anger as scalding as the fire she produced. Little did they know that reinforcements were coming.
As soon as Fynx put her paw in his, Atona jumped off the ledge they were on and pulled Fynx close, assisting her with what little psychic power he possessed to guide them both to the plain that Isis and the others were on. It took a substantial amount of effort to keep them from veering off course due to the crazy gravitational pulls in every direction, and each passing second as they drew closer to the legendary that was causing them, it only got harder to resist the pull. Atona panted with effort, but as more screams rang out, he felt Fynx's assistance waver as she saw Isis and Rose get caught up in the ghostly tendrils of the beast, murmuring his name worriedly. Atona grunted as their teamwork faltered, Atona unable to pick up her slack, and they began to get pushed and pulled through the air. "C-concentrate!" Atona barked telepathically, reigning in her focus to help even them out again. She squeezed his paw, and relief washed over Atona's mental state as she managed to find the focus and energy to send them through the last leg of their flight. The moment they landed, both canines charged for the ghost. Fynx, ever the emotional one, snarled and yelled challengingly at the giratina, but Atona kept his calm as he charged and fired an aura sphere at the dragon. There was no mistaking it though, Atona's aura was as enraged as Fynx's. "I'm only going to say this once...." Atona directed at the legend, leering at it dangerously. "Let them go." He demanded calmly, but with frightening authority. The giratina simply scoffed at his threat, and that was all the confirmation Atona needed to take this matter into his own hands. For a moment he seemingly disappeared from view, before suddenly taking his place next to Isis with another aura sphere at the ready, firing it at the tendril holding Isis. The beast shrieked and hissed in pain, recoiling and consequentially dropping Isis from it's grasp. Atona quickly caught the blond and in another blink of an eye, had brought her back to Raja. Isis clung to the lucario, still trembling and teary eyed, and as he attempted to set her down, she only held him tighter. "Isis..." He murmured and stroked her hair soothingly with a paw. "I... I thought... Y-you were--" Isis hiccuped, interrupting her already shabby sentence. Thankfully Atona was able to get a read on what she was trying to say. "Did you really think you could get rid of me that easily?" He chuckled. Isis pouted. that wasn't funny. Not one bit, but Atona still grinned fondly at his trainer, setting her down at last before turning back to the battle at hand. ✿ ❀

Olivia nodded when Vince began to list off his pokemon, those she had met and those whose acquaintance she’d yet to make, noting just how many pokemon the man had; recalling those names, he had nine pokemon, a rather impressive amount considering they’d both started their journeys around the same time. Though the two pokemon run-ins, one of whom was in dire need of a name, he’d encountered in their new location had certainly given him an opportunity to increase his numbers. Olivia’s previous smirk turned into a wide grin when Vince refused to neither confirm nor deny that she was growing on him, one of the many traits she and the newly named Olivia shared in common-- thus their similar name. His plan had backfired, however, and in his attempt to not answer her probing inquiry he’d done the exact opposite. “I guess I am then~” she sang, chuckling lightly when Vince crossed his arms. “Don’t worry, Vincey, you’re growing on me too,” she assured and then patted his shoulder. In the end, to prevent confusion, the Noibat was named ‘Olivia’ rather than ‘Olive’; she’d just have to make a mental note not to respond whenever the little Noibat’s name was called. After all, Vince only knew her as ‘Olive’.
Olivia held back the urge to coo and fawn over her namesake, a rather difficult task considering how adorably she reacted when being pet; the cuteness only continued when she finished off her berry and proceeded to curl up on her shoulder for a nap, positively precious. Slightly worried about how she’d be able to stay upright on her shoulder, she opened her mouth to suggest that Vince return her, only to find the male already doing as much. It was for the best anyway, considering all the duo went through next; if it wasn’t the shift in gravity, then it was the angry Tyrunt that Vince had to battle, sword against teeth, it into submission. Thankfully, from then on they were given a bit of reprieve, and in that time the two struck up a conversation photos, more specifically the photos they could take of their new location and just what kind of price they could get on them if they were taken, and the many options they had with them. It was Vince who suggested they take more than one picture, after all this was a once in a lifetime experience, before he began snapping pictures of the scenery, and after musing over what a good idea that was, Olivia joined in, deciding that her first shot would be of one of the many buildings that stretched out buildings that stretched towards the sky. It was after a few shots that she got the good idea to begin including themselves into their pictures, then suggested as much to Vince. She stopped long enough to listen to the brunette, head inclining towards the male, then cracked a smile at his decline and then explanation. “What? Not ready to show me off to the ‘rentals yet?” she teased, but understood completely. Her family were the exact same way, her mother and brother especially, if they were to see her posing with Vince they tidal wave of teasing would be endless. With this in mind Olivia turned the camera to her, making sure she had a good portion of the Distortion World behind her as the background, before she flashed a grin and snapped a photo. Afterwards she drew her XTransceiver close enough to peer down at the picture she’d taken of herself, nodding in satisfaction once she’d deemed it presentable.
The serenity that’d fallen onto the duo was violently broken down when several screams filled the air, forcing Olivia to tear her attention away from her camera and towards the direction of the frightened humans. Once she found them, it was rather easy to find the reason behind their fear. Although originally hard to recognize, Olivia eventually identified the bright giant as Giritina, a legendary that the group had somehow managed to anger. It only took the realization that the group was in desperate need of rescuing before she took off running, calling out to Vince to help aid her in her rescue attempt. Her mind raced with half-assed ideas of how to save the group as she ran, though she momentarily stopped all thoughts when Vince shot past her and stopped to put his hands on her shoulder. It was obvious he wasn’t interested in helping her, but rather stopping her from making a horrible mistake that was poor in judgment. Even if he was helping her, however, in her anger and budding frustration she didn’t see as much and instead simply lashed out at the male, her frustration only building when she was greeted with a look of indifference and carefully controlled expression. Olivia snapped her head back to the group and watched as their situation turned more bleak, a Tyrantrum was struck down before the Giritina turned its wrath onto an airborne trainer and knocked it to the ground-- only more proof that they needed help, but by then it was too late as Vince’s logic had finally sunk in. There wasn’t any foreseen path to get down to them, and she didn’t have any pokemon close to strong enough to combat the ghost. She yielded, much to her chagrin, but was quick to pull herself away from Vince and began moving forward, preventing herself from looking back at the group. It was no use in torturing herself by watching and knowing she was unable to prevent any of it from happening.
Things were quiet from then on as Olivia more or less led the way, her head held high even if she kept her firmly on the path ahead. After a few minutes had been allowed to pass, and her immediate anger had died down, all that she was left to feel was frustration and embarrassment. This was the second time that she’d been forced to stand on the sidelines and be a spectator, only this time the stakes were higher. But, she was also embarrassed with herself for letting her emotions get in the way of rational thinking, not to mention the fact that she’d even gone as far as to try and vent her frustration out on the person who was simply trying to keep herself from getting hurt. Vince hadn’t deserved that, and yet she couldn’t bring herself to apologize, not yet at least. Olivia turned back to look at Vince when he called out to her, reluctantly stopping when he suggested they stop in one of the many houses to recover. It was a good idea, and it would at least help her clear her mind. The neutral expression that she’d been careful to keep softened and she nodded, turning around fully so that she could walk inside the house.
Wary at first, it soon became apparent that the house was completely empty, though it was left in a perfectly preserved state. It was rather impressive, if not disturbing. “Who could’ve lived here?” she wondered aloud, her wanderings eventually leading her into the kitchen. Just like the first room, it was empty without any signs of life, and yet time had yet to leave its mark here. There was a good chance that, whatever food they found here, would be edible, but as to what selections they had was yet to be seen. “What are the chances of there being a four-star meal waiting for us in the fridge?” she joked, trying to ease the tension she had unintentionally caused.

Vince couldn't help but grimace when his actions backfired, and Olivia correctly guessed from his lack of an answer that she was right, she was growing on him. She was practically rubbing it in his face with her singsong tone and assuring pats as she insisted he was growing on her too. Keeping his arms crossed and his mouth shut, Vince simply remained silent. It wasn't like he could deny it, though he wanted to. Well, he could, but it wouldn't be very convincing. So he stewed there as they walked, ignoring the heat in his cheeks until her attention went to his noibat, congratulating her on her new name and crooning over her cuteness until she grew tired and curled up for a nap, at which point Vince returned the noibat to her ball, now that she would actually stay there comfortably. It was a good thing too, considering all the craziness between gravity and an outraged tyrunt to follow soon after. It was likely the noibat would get a better rest in her ball than clinging for dear life at Olivia's shoulder. Afterwards though they seemed to have earned a reprieve, focusing their attention on the world around them and taking pictures. Vince was glad the pinkette had suggested it, because he certainly wanted to capture his time here. It would be quite the story to tell after all.
Though, when Olivia suggested they take a picture together, Vince politely excluded himself from the notion, explaining that his parents would get the wrong idea, not to mention his grandparents too. When Olivia teased him about it though, Vince's jaw clenched. "Don't make such ridiculous suggestions..." Vince mumbled, shaking his head. She said that like they were something to show off in the first place. They had just met that day. Vince closed his eyes and sighed, watching as Olivia nevertheless heeded his wishes and took a selfie without Vince in the picture. After she was done, Vince was about to suggest they continue to walk, however as screams rang out, it seemed their reprieve had ended with a crashing halt. It took a lot of convincing on Vince's part to make sure Olivia didn't do anything reckless and get herself killed or trapped floating through space. It earned him some rather sharp words in return, but it was worth the fight. Vince could handle her accusations, they weren't wrong after all, but he couldn't let her go until she conceded, even if she did it begrudgingly and stormed off. Vince simply followed in silence, giving her some space and time to cool off. It wasn't until they came across a few houses that Vince finally broke the ice and insisted they go inside to search for food. Honestly though, it wasn't the food he was concerned with. He just wanted to take Olivia's mind off of the scene they had witnessed. Honestly Vince was surprised the house was even unlocked, but he still insisted that they go inside and check it out, feeling a bit relieved as Olivia stepped inside. Vince and Huang Chen followed in after her, Vince closing the door softly behind him. He heard Olivia wonder aloud who could have lived in the small house, and Vince gave a shrug. "It's hard to say." He glanced around as he made his way inside.
The landing gave way into a small living space with a fire place, couch, and coffee table, but they continued forwards until they'd found the kitchen. Olivia jokingly asked what the chance were of finding a four star meal in the fridge were. Vince could tell she was forcing her joke, possibly to ease the tension, but he humored her with a soft chuckle. "Probably close to one percent." He suggested, opening the fridge to see what their options were. The light inside wasn't turning on, possibly due to the lack of electricity in the house, but the contents were still somehow cold, and appeared fresh. Vince grabbed a carton of gogoat cheese and inspected the vegetable and fruit bins to find some fuji apples, lemons, and lettuce, an idea forming into his mind as he brought the ingredients out and closed the fridge back up and made for the pantry instead. "There's no pre-made four star meal in there, but... If you'll slice up those apples and toss them in a bowl with that lettuce and gogoat cheese, I'l see if I can make something eatable." He suggested, opening the pantry up and taking a look around. There was some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, more ingredients for the homemade salad dressing he had in mind. The pantry also contained a selection of canned soups, and while he doubted the stove was working, he happened to have a fire type handy to remedy that. Sliding in next to Olivia at the counter, he held up three cans of soup. "What do you think? Cream of tomato, chicken and dumpling, or split pea and ham to go with a grilled cheese?" He offered her the choice, setting the cans down on the counter before digging a pot for the soup and a pan for the grilled cheeses out from the cabinets below. He also grabbed a small bowl, whisk, and small strainer so that he could start mixing together the vinaigrette for the salad. He sliced his lemon in half, and after squeezing them out of the strainer, he whisked together a bit of the balsamic vinegar and olive oil together in the bowl he had gathered, still waiting for Olivia's opinion on her soup preference.
With a Cheshire-like grin, Olivia soaked in the moment, unsure of what she was more content with, the fact that she was growing on Vince, or that, despite his lack of an answer, she knew this to be true, and he knew that she knew. On the one hand, she was glad to know that they were getting along so well together and that the feeling was mutual, she said as much to Vince too, but on the other she got to relish in the fact that she knew something Vince didn’t want to outright say, being the stubborn man that he was. Eventually Olivia backed off, giving Vince the chance to recover and regain his composure while she fawned over his Noibat, the perfect distraction for her, until the little one grew tired and had to be returned to her pokeball. It was the right decision, in the long run, as it not gave her a safer place to rest but it gave Olivia one less thing to worry about. It was hard to give your full focus on climbing up walls and watching katana-wielding men fight dinosaurs when you stopped every minute or so to check and make sure that your shoulder companion was still where you’d last left her.
It was a shame little Olivia hadn’t managed to stay awake for another few minutes or so, at least then she would’ve had someone else to appear in a photo with her, seeing as how Vince was unwilling. She respected that he wasn’t too crazy about having his picture taken, and she could certainly sympathize with having automatically assuming parents, but she just couldn’t help but to tease him, claiming that he just wasn’t ready to introduce her. Of course, there was nothing really to ‘introduce to’, besides the very basics: ‘this is my acquaintance, Olive’. In the end, she took a picture by herself, and after checking its quality decided it’d be the one she sent to her family once they returned to the real world, part of her ‘first day summary’. Unfortunately, the peace that had settled upon them couldn’t last forever, and although it wasn’t another charging pokemon it was something much more frightening. In all honesty, Olivia had been acting on pure instinct when she’d began to run towards the group of troubled trainers, but when forced to stop and actually think she saw the errors in her way, and just how irrational she was being. But, before that enlightenment was anger, all of which was unfairly unleashed onto Vince; he was given credit to just how calmly he responded, however, and eventually, once faced with the facts, much like the Tyrunt from before, Olivia submitted. With irritation etched into her features and body language she tore herself away from Vince and the fight, distancing herself from both as she tried to clear her head.
She was well aware that she’d been in the wrong, but within her turmoil of emotions, although humility was one of them, she couldn’t find it within herself to turn around and both apologize and thank Vince; she wasn’t angry with him, but rather herself and until she’d managed to fully calm herself down she wouldn’t be able to utter an apology. Finding a temporary ‘safe house’ and stopping just long enough to recollect themselves was a good start, and was exactly what Vince did when he stopped them both and suggested they find food and take some time to rest inside one of the twisted world’s many odd houses. Olivia agreed then walked through the door Vince held open, surprised that they didn’t have to kick one of the doors down to enter-- a bit of luck on their part. Much like the world upon their initial arrival, the house was empty but it didn’t hold a sense of foreboding, rather… it was quaint, there was a fireplace and everything. They didn’t dawdle for long and soon the two found themselves in the kitchen where, after a quick scan of the room, Olivia made a joke about the quality of food that could be found here. It was obvious that she was trying a bit too hard but, nevertheless, Vince humored her, something she appreciated, and gave a response that caused her to chuckle lightly. “Well, at least there’s still a chance, as small as it is,” she mused, going the optimistic route.
After a bit of scrounging, Vince managed to locate a few fresh ingredients from the fridge, fresh despite the fact that the electricity in the house was nonexistent, then gave her a task to do. "Alrighty.” Olivia moved about the kitchen, and after a few minutes of searching returned to the counter with a bowl, cutting board, and knife, the latter to which she held with precaution. She began chopping the apples, doing her best not to make the slices too thick and to remove the few seeds she found. Once that was complete, she turned her attention to the lettuce, removing a few leaves to cut into before she tossed the lettuce and apples into the bowl, sprinkling in the Gogoat cheese on top. Now finished with her job, Olivia looked up when three cans of soap were placed in front of her, eyes briefly lifting up to look at Vince before she returned her attention to the cans. Thinking of her choices, the pinkette’s stomach growled when she began deliberating over the chicken and dumplings or the tomato soup, a reminder of when the last she’d eaten and further proof that Vince’s idea had been a good one. “Tomato,” she finally decided and then picked up the can to peer at its expiration date; so far everything else had looked fresh, but you could never be too careful. Once it’d checked out Olivia returned the can to the counter before she looked at Vince, who was busy whisking his concoction of olive oil, vinegar, and lemon together. “How many years do you have in the kitchen?” she asked suddenly, both curious and eager to try and start up a light conversation, it’d help build up to her inevitable apology.

As the healing energy washed over him, Zero quieted down for a moment, his body healing rapidly before the eyes of his companions. His breathing stabilized, and he regained the ability to move more freely. He balled his fist and flexed his arm a few times as Isis held him close, making sure he still had feeling in it. There was a… very real possibility of this all turning out too much for his heart, and that was something that worried him greatly. More for Isis though, than anything else. She understandably never took his having a heart attack well, and in a situation where they were thrust back into another hell, that was the last thing that either of them needed. After the glow faded however, everything was working fine, and Zero stood up with his strength renewed. Raja filled him in on what was going on, and after taking a shot in the dark that type effectiveness was reversed, he stepped out of the barrier, ready to fight.
Nova put up a barrier around the girls; however the toll of everything going on and the constant strain on her mind was becoming more and more apparent. She’d already healed Zero twice now, and did what she could to improve what minor injuries the girls had sustained, but putting that together with the teleportation a moment ago, and she barely even had the power to stand. She kept herself up on psychic supports, and tried her best to keep the girls safe behind the translucent barrier, but it flickered visibly as her strength started to decay. Just… just a little longer…she thought, grimacing as they all watched Rex go down with a heavy blow. Zero himself took a deep breath, trying to keep himself composed as he released his two fire-types, and opened his mouth to speak, shout a command or even challenge the Giratina himself, but nothing came out. Right over his heady, a pair of murky tendrils shot over his head, and shot towards the group behind him. Nova realized it before he did, the fading barrier unlikely to sustain itself if the tendrils collided. In one, brief instant, she dropped the barrier, and with whatever strength she had left moved in front of Isis, hoping to block the attack or at least divert it from the blond.
It was to no avail though, the tendril merely punching right into her, colliding with her directly in the psychic’s chest. Her vision blurred, her mind shook, and the Gardevoir was thrown back, collapsed outside the ward as the ghost-type grabbed the girls she was supposed to keep safe. Things just happened so fast, by the time Zero had turned around, the girls were already gone, and all he had to focus his vision on was the collapsed frame of his pokemon. He felt something click, or perhaps grind to a halt, as time reflected the latter in his mind. He couldn’t describe it, but he felt cold, unable to look away from the pokemon but also unable to even emote, stunned shock the only expression on his face. She wasn’t dead, he was certain somehow, but, suddenly he felt something new envelope him, yet somehow… familiar. A weight he forgot upon his shoulders.
He’d pushed Nova to her limits, and yet she continued to serve him loyally, now bringing herself to collapse because of it. Even if he felt she was still there, the reality of the situation was not lost on him, her limp figure almost resembling that of… a corpse. Time resumed for only the briefest of instants, to view the two girls held in the Giratina’s grip, the beast squeezing around them as they couldn’t do anything. For an instant he thought to chastise himself again, blame himself more for being unable to stop it, then he let a level of helplessness hit him as well, causing him to internally fight himself over his inability to protect. Protect… A single voice rang out in his head, distinct from all others fighting for room. To protect… It was getting louder. You fight… Time resumed, and Zero’s entire perception changed. You fight to protect.
That swirling vortex of emotions that Zero bottled up suddenly came uncorked, erupting to ignite his presence. He was almost comparable to Atona in this instance, who’d just now landed, giving the legendary a single warning. To the Lucario, there were likely now three beacons of aura burning around the massive beast. Without a word, he ran ahead, his body moving on its own as the sliver-haired trainer found himself in a strange sense of clarity. His anger, his joy, even his sorrow, each part was equalizing; directed and focused, instead of the wild, unchecked mess that he’d demonstrated at Mt. Pyre. Don’t think, just fight. That voice was the loudest now, every other thought in Zero’s head peacefully silent. Fight, and protect. Fight. Protect. If you fall, get back up. Ashen rushed forward, gliding low to the ground to keep him from being thrown off by the unnatural gravity. More tendrils shot down trying to strike him, but he evaded them with surprising ease, an orb of false sunlight high above everyone’s heads casting distinct and telling shadows. He reached around to the back, quickly flying beneath the tail when Zero gave the command. “Solar Beam.” Before the Charizard completed his pass, his maw opened wide, and a beam of sunlight struck the Legendary’s underbelly. He flew right back around, getting away from the creature before he could counterattack. If you fail, continue, grow stronger. Learn and proceed, do not linger.
Zero was unsure where this voice came from within him. It was undoubtedly his own, that he was certain of, but sensed a hint of something else there too. Something that was not his own, but he seemed to welcome it openly. It was… nice, somehow, that such simple words had such an effect, like they were something that he needed to hear. He rushed to make sure Isis was okay the moment Atona brought her down, a genuine smile on his face to find that she was alright. Agi meanwhile had jumped into the fray, as Fynx moved to free Rose. While the Giratina was busy dealing with the blow Ashen dealt, he’d leapt up high into the air, gravity fortunately being correct in the one instance as he plummeted towards the creature, his leg crashing down onto the tendril. It released the redhead before throwing the Blaziken back, leaving Fynx to have to catch her trainer.

Rose squirmed helplessly in Giratina’s grasp, crying. She could not reach her bag or her belt. Rex was down for the count, and Rye… Poor Rye. He tried his best to save her, but was easily swatted aside. Her throat hurt from screaming and crying at this point. She wanted Fynx to come save her. She wanted none of her friends to get hurt. This was all her fault, was it not? It felt horrible knowing that her friends could get hurt because she had somehow angered this Giratina. Rose squeezed her eyes shut, as if that would make this all go away.
Giratina snarled as the whispard attacked. It hardly did any damage at all to it, but the burn… well, it was irritating to say the least. But as it was in this realm, the flames fizzled out after a moment. Not that it had stopped hurting a bit. The legendary scoffed at the newcomers – a delphox and a lucario, demanding the trainers be released. If Giratina was not locked in battle mode, it would have possibly wavered at the sight of their burning auras. However, it did not matter. And to sass them further, it gave the trainers a good little squeeze, causing the red head to squeakily screech.
Shortly after, the lucario seemed to disappear for a moment, then reappeared closer and struck out with an aura sphere, hitting the giratina pretty hard. It ‘stumbled’, forced to drop Isis. If that was not enough, the annoying fly boy had attacked Giratina from behind with a solar beam, causing the beast to lunge forward. Fynx was about ready to launch a fire attack at Giratina, but in the legend’s flailing, she took a tendril to the gut, knocking her back. It did not stop there, as a mega blaziken joined in, trying to free the red head, kicking the tendril that had held her. With a very annoyed roar, Giratina let go of Rose, turning it’s head to glare at the rest of them.
Rose could not believe it when she eventually realized that Fynx was here. Luckily, when she was released from the beast’s hold, her Delphox caught her, pulling her into the warm fluff. “F-fynx!” Rose sobbed, clinging to her starter weakly. The silvery fox nuzzled her trainer as she leapt backwards, out of the way of the legendary. “It will all be alright Rose. I am here now.” The fox cooed gently to her trainer, petting her. The delphox’s tail wagged uncontrollably. While consoling her trainer, Fynx’s blue eyes looked at the situation. It… really did not look good at all. Giratina was absolutely livid. She was not even an aura reader, but she could sense an overbearing energy all around. It was bad news.
Giratina had had enough. How dare these pathetic whelps intervene on the battle! They were not the one the orb chose! “ENOUGH.” It snarled. Time for some payback. The neon colored beast whipped its body around, slamming its tail against the charizard, while a tendril swatted the blaziken away much like a fly. A large, glowing orb formed in its mouth, and it shot an aura sphere at the whispard, charging up another rather quickly before launching it in Zero’s direction. How dare they how dare they how dare they! Giratina was so enraged at this point, that it was lashing out at whatever was nearby. With an echoing roar, it slammed its tail on the platform, cracks appearing, causing everything to shake. Some of the ground started to seem to start to crumble from the action.
“Atona, we need to find a way to leave.” Fynx telepathed to the dog. Over the ruckus, there was no other way she could communicate with the lucario. She was still holding Rose, and keeping her distance from the rampaging legend. This was really starting to look worse and worse. Glancing around, she knew that there was no clear route away from this platform. And no way could that she, even with Atona’s help, get everyone to safety. Not to mention the Giratina would likely follow.
Rose flinched, squeezing Fynx as the Giratina raged. It was all so scary. The large ghost was even more upset than before, and now it was being directed towards her friends. And she was useless to it. Even with Fynx, she was not strong enough. She was terrified to send out anything else to fight against Giratina. Even with her friends attacking it, it still seemed to be holding strong. What should she do? What can she do?
While fynx was distracted slightly, Rose managed to gather up enough courage to break away from her, running towards the giratina. Even though fear was coursing through her veins, her mind and body screaming ‘NO!’ at the action, she brought herself before the raging beast. Fynx tried to stop her, but was starting to feel the physics around her shifting slightly, causing her to have to focus on her psychic powers instead to keep from being flung off of the platform. Reaching into her bag, Rose grabbed the first thing her fingers found. “S-s-s-stop being such a meanie!” she shouted, throwing a round object at the Giratina.
Rose tensed up as the beast was suddenly swallowed up in a beam of light. Oh. No. It was an ultra ball. Rose trembled more with each shake of the ball, scared stiff by the time the ball clicked. She was now the owner of this nightmare. Sure, the battle was over but… now she had to live with this. The red head was too stunned to go retrieve the ball. What should she do? Release it? There was no way she trusted that thing. It might try to attack again if she let it out. Heck, she was even too afraid to even touch the ball.
Fynx was relieved of the pressure that had been upon her, able to make it to Rose just as the ball gave a solid click. Oh Arceus… Fynx could already sense the dread her trainer felt right now.

The situation at hand was already bad. Vince and Olivia were sucked into an alternate dimension with no known means of getting home. It was amazing they had managed to keep any shred of sanity and amusement thus far, joking about picture taking and what they could do with the photos, as if there were any guarantee they would be getting back any time soon. Vince had learned to keep calm and grounded in these sorts of situations, but as far as he knew, Olivia was just really optimistic, or really good at not showing how terrified she was. Her true face had shown through however when she saw others in danger in the distance, their screams echoing through the vast empty space. By some miracle, Vince had managed to convince her not to go after the group, albeit at the cost of Olivia's harsh judgement. Her anger and frustration made it clear that maybe she wasn't handling the situation as well as she would have liked to portray, particularly knowing that others were in danger. She was certainly the selfless type. Vince would bet money on the fact that if Olivia, and only Olivia, had been pulled into this place, she would have loads of fun with it without a care in the world, but the moment others got involved, that was when she got serious. In that case, Vince had to be selfish for her, and stop her from doing anything rash, like throwing her life away trying to aid a lost cause. If that made her angry with him, then so be it. He wouldn't take it personally, he knew that it was the right thing to do. She probably knew it somewhere deep down too.
For now though the silence between them was deafening as they walked through the Distortion World. Olivia was probably still trying to wrap her head around things, and cope with the likely loss of life that they had witnessed and done nothing for. Vince felt bad. Sure, it was the right decision, but that didn't make it an easy one. He hated seeing her so distraught, and so when they passed through some houses, Vince got an idea, and offered to Olivia that they go inside to stock up on food. After all, who knew when they'd get the chance again? Really though, Vince wanted to use the cosy looking homes as a way to de-stress. They could sit, eat, talk, and be surrounded by a more familiar environment that might help distract them. Vince didn't expect Olivia to be so agreeable, or even open to the idea, but he was grateful that she was. They entered the house, admired the interior, and then quickly made their way to the kitchen, where Olivia made an attempt to lighten the mood again. It was a shoddy attempt, not quite in the same spirit as things had been before, but given the circumstances, Vince understood and humored her, which Olivia seemed to appreciate. After that though, he got down to business, digging ingredients out of the strangely cold but inoperable refrigerator, giving Olivia a task to help out while he continued searching for other ingredients. Just as Olivia finished putting together the salad, Vince stepped over to toss it in the dressing he'd made while Olivia debated the soup options, eventually deciding on tomato. "Tomato it is then. Huang Chen, can I borrow your tail?" Vince couldn't help but chuckle a bit at how ridiculous that sounded, but nevertheless the small fire lizard hopped up onto the stove so that Vince could use her tail fire to heat the soup pot. "Here," Vince handed Olivia a can opener that he'd dug out of the near by drawer. "I'll let you do the honors." He suggested with a small smirk, taking the other two soup cans and putting them back in the pantry.
Huang Chen was surprisingly rather content to be used as a cooking fire. Other pokemon might have found the notion humiliating and degrading, but Huang Chen knew the importance of being able to cook food, and if nothing was working in this house to function as a heating mechanism, then she would happily serve that purpose so that they could eat. Well, y'know, as long as she got some of that food too! Olivia then continued to make light conversation, asking how many years he had in the kitchen. "Hm.... Well..." He had to think about it. "About ten? I mean... Actually more than ten but.... Ten if you're looking for actual substantial cooking experience, since I don't think things like handing my grandmother sugar when I was four, count." He chuckled sheepishly. "My family is.... Traditional, to say the least. Big surprise there, I know, but...." Vince set the salad down and turned back to the fridge to pull out the butter, bread, and cheese. "My grandmother likes for us to sit down every sunday and eat a meal together as a family, my mom, dad, myself, my brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins.... It gets pretty big, and she insists on cooking the meal, so we like to try and help.... You know." He shrugged. "You pick up on a few things." he chuckled. It seemed that was his mantra today, he'd been saying it about everything he knew. That was what knowledge was though really, just learning from watching others and picking up on what seems to work, what not to do. Word of mouth was unreliable, it was always action and effect that made Vince want to learn. Eventually, they had a nice hot pot of tomato soup, a few grilled cheese sandwiches, and a salad on the table. Vince helped the pinkette set the table with plates, bowls, spoons, forks, and napkins. "Honestly, I'm surprised we were able to find something in this little place.... I figured even if there was food, surely it would be bad but.... Well.... Given where we are, I guess I shouldn't be." Vince gave a tired smile, watching Huang Chen take a bite out of her grilled cheese and soup. She would never forgive Vince if he didn't let her have any. Frankly Vince was certain that this kind of meal wasn't the best thing for a growing dragon to eat, but it was better than nothing.
