[ Lindy | Animal Booth -> Tour Sign-Up ]Speaking of distractions, Lindy found her focus wandering as more campers and students trickled into the hall. She was still paying Doolittle a fair amount of attention, but her stare drifted toward vacancy as she strained to listen to the other conversations going on around her as well. Every so often she would think back to what the dog and the girl had said and she would nod at the interesting bits, but there was so much more to see and do now and something about a tour and...
She did it. She turned, just for a second. And she felt rather guilty about it too. Lindy faced Juniper and Doolittle again moments after she had looked away, a rare sheepishness in her eyes.
"That's the coolest!" she said, holding her pamphlet against her chest and bouncing once on the balls of her feet. "I've never even had a pet, let alone a psychic one, but I'm glad they're looked out for here. And trained! It must be so neat to watch an animal class..." She looked at the instructor-turned-tour guide again, then back at the dog and the camper.
"Be right back."
Lindy crossed to where Mona was standing at a polite little jog, waving at the woman when she got close.
"Hi! I'd like to come on the tour, if that's okay?"
She already knew the school... kind of... but there was surely much more to learn.

(Juniper | Animal Booth)
"Oh, that's really wonderful!" sighed Juniper with relief, her smile shining true behind her pamphlet. "I'm so glad to know they'll be okay together..."
She turned and waved goodbye to Lindy. "Oh, uhm, have fun!" She called in the girl's wake, unsure of what else she was meant to say to 'be right back'.
As she looked over, she spotted... someone. Some glorious someone. No, not someone. Some-witch. There was a witch!
There was a witch.
Juniper's eyes became wide. She turned back to the puppy professor, her palms sweating. "Oh, uhm, thank you again -- I should -- I should -- uhm, if I find a pet I'll definitely send him or her to you! You're very kind. T-Thank you again."
She took a step back. She took off her hat and put it back on. Could she go talk to the witch? The witch. The beautiful gorgeous amazing beautiful wonderous beautiful witch.

(( Toffee | Buffet -> Animal booth ))
Toffee watched with mild fascination as Hugh dropped the coin into the jar, making the clearest cling as it hit the glass at the bottom. Walking up to it, she tipped the jar sideways with one hand, and pick up the coin that was just dropped. Putting the jar upright once more, she dropped it in herself, making the same sound again. Her eye lit up with this, it was kind of fun! Perhaps, even if she doesn't quite grasp the concept of paying for food yet, this is a first step for her to slowly learn how.
The girl only mimicked Hugh once though, before turning back to the man again, both hands now back on the burger as she chewed hungrily. When he spoke to her again, it was in a pleasant tone with a smile. That made Toffee beamed too. Hugh was nice, his voice was friendly and he smiles a lot, unlike the other tall man with light colored hair.
Speaking of which... Toffee's green eyes darted around the room curiously, looking for Kaspar Faust. It took her a minute but she finally saw him, seated at a table all by his lonesome, still not smiling. She doesn't feel like going there. There is one individual that she wanted to see though. Looking around again, she finally spotted Doolittle.
Looking up at Hugh, she pointed a slightly greasy finger at Doolittle, indicating that she will be heading over. Then she gave Hugh's apron leg another half hug before running across the room with the burger.
As she approached Doolittle's booth though, in her haste she bumped into Juniper. Being the smaller of the two, she staggered sideways a little, but managed to keep her balance. Juniper's hat however had went askew from the force. She stared at the young witch with wide saucer eyes, not sure how to apologize to a human in human tongue.

[ WuXia | Astral Booth ] WuXia blinked for a second, surprised when CiCi answered without moving her lips. WuXia knew about Telepathy, but the voice didn't sound much like CiCi's speaking voice. Or... anything like CiCi's speaking voice. Was that how it worked? Then she realized that the response had come from behind her, half-turning, half-jumping to face front, though there wasn't much trace of surprise in WuXia's face: She didn't look like one who'd been startled, anyway, as she straightened up and gave a spritely half-bow.
"Hi!" she chirped, glancing down to peer interestedly at the eye-shaped marking on the front of the purple cloth. Digging out the brochure-slash-map she'd picked up near the entrance, the handout already battered and much-abused from being folded up and stuffed into a jacket pocket, WuXia flicked through it hastily before looking up again. "Um... Instructor Nightshade?" she ventured, mostly sure that she'd gotten that right. "I'm WuXia, and this is Zajac, and this is CiCi!" WuXia gestured broadly to her new friends, remembering, just in time, to make sure her fluttering pamphlet didn't clip the shorter boy in the head. "But... I guess if you can see the future, you already knew that?" Was that how that worked? It was probably something close to it, right?
Patting herself down with her other hand, WuXia eventually came up with a quarter, setting it down on the plush purple cloth as if she were flourishing a winning hand. "Then, can you see my future?" asked WuXia, eyes bright with anticipation as she bounced on her heels, her aura thrumming with excess energy.

[ Animal Booth w/ Lindy & Juniper --> Juniper ] There was a pleasant hum in their minds, rather than a laugh. It was accentuated by the slow, rhythmic wagging of Doolittle's tail. Pet Power classes can most certainly be supervised by their humans. He dipped his snout as Lindy excused herself. It was then that Juniper's posture shifted and Doolittle's ears folded back -- just for a moment. You can go say hi, he encouraged. Miss Nightshade would like you. x [ Entrance/Tour Sign-up w/ Marcelle & Lindy ] It wasn't long after the first group left that another camper strode up. Mona raised her brows and grinned. "That's right. Can I mark you down for joining us?" Another student made their way over and the Crash Course Instructor smiled at her, too. She lifted her arm as if to check the time but there was no watch around her wrist. "We'll be heading out in an hour. You can mill around until then. Be free. Explore." x [ Astral Booth w/ WuXia, Celine, Zajac ] "Hello," Instructor Nightshade smiled, clasping her hands together upon the tabletop. "It's nice to meet all of you. I hope we'll get to know each other well."Her brows raised into her thick dark mess of hair at WuXia's questions. "Knowing your names has little to do with reading the future and more to do with reading minds," she winked, then relaxed her posture. Of course, all of the paperwork involved with these young psychics could also be to blame but that was more Instructor Faust's shtick. "I'm afraid I'm not our precognitive specialist," Nightshade curled her fingers and extended her chin to rest upon her pale knuckles, "and the one we do have is quite stuffy about such matters. I can't guarantee he'll share. Though," she smiled and held a hand out, "I'd be more than happy to read your aura. Tell you more about you." Instructor Nightshade glanced at the others in the group. "Would you all like that?"x

[ WuXia | Astral Booth ]WuXia's brow wrinkled slightly as she nodded, clearly making an attempt to internalize this new information. Who knew being a psychic was so complicated? ... Which was probably why you had to go to camp and school for it! It made perfect sense!
"I would like to know more about me, please!" she grinned, nodding as if for emphasis as she continued to use up what would be, for others, a week's worth of exclamation points or more. WuXia was always up to have people talk to her about her, especially when it was good! It occurred to WuXia, in passing, that it might not be good, since Instructor Nightshade was a teacher, buuuuut she wasn't in a classroom at the moment, right? And the Instructor seemed nice, so it would probably be fine!
"You guys wanna try too, right?" WuXia asked, turning to CiCi and then Zajac, eyes bright with interest, her momentary hesitation gone before WuXia really had a chance to register its presence.

[ Zajac | Astral Booth w/ WuXia & Celine ] At once Zajac decided that he liked WuXia. Just the fact that the girl wanted to say his name right made him like her. Like a rabbit following a carrot Zajac followed WuXia, only getting distracted once when he caught icy blue eyes. She had a soft smile and he wondered if she would be going on the tour with them later. However he was paying attention enough to learn a little but about the girl he was following. He was a little scared at the thought of her wanting her red belt, he was pretty sure that had to do with fighting, but she seemed nice enough so maybe he didn't have to worry.
When he was released Zajac stayed put, making sure to not get lost. The place wasn't that big, but there were many people about. He figured it was best to stick close to WuXia's side.
He was shocked when Instructor Nightshade spoke, not realizing that they were close enough for her to hear them. He smiled softly when he was introduced, nodding his head. At talk of reading to future he stiffened, and the word precognitive had him down right ridged. That was what he could do, even if he couldn't control it. Though at hearing that the women in front of him was not the one who would be helping him with his gift he softened.
When she offered to read their aura he didn't move right away but at WuXia's words he nodded slowly, still standing close to WuXia for safety. He was a little worried about what she would say about him, but hopefully it wouldn't be horrible.

Marcelle | Buffet The second Marcelle was sure she was on the tour list, she turned on her heel and strutted off in a new direction, leaving the gregariously-dressed blonde mid-sentence. She didn't have time to waste on something like that. The thin ginger clicked her way over to the buffet, her nose crinkling in distaste at the smell of grease and grilled meat. Behind the grill was a large hairy man that looked too friendly. Her big blue eyes scrutinized the pathetic collection of food on the table before she spotted the salad, her unimpressed frown relaxing into a bored line as she pulled a small silver purse out of her custom dog-carrier/handbag. Two thin polished fingers slipped into the bag to retrieve a 5 dollar bill to give to the man as she carefully selected the pieces of lettuce and spinach to put on her plate. "You can keep the change. Maybe then the academy can afford to cater the next event." Marcelle said cooly, her tone bored and prissy at the same time. Marcelle left with a flip of her red curls to find a seat to enjoy her salad, setting her bag down and removing an unopened bottle of spring water and a small bowl from her bag. She twisted the cap off and poured the water into the bowl for Charlemagne, who was sitting politely waiting for his beverage. She hoped the tour would start soon, she was growing tired of looking at the same four walls.

[ Cody --> Tour Sign Up ]
To say that Cody almost forgot to sign up for the tour would be an understatement.
The teen stopped bite in the burger he had picked up a little while earlier, a thoughtful look crossing his face. There'd been something he'd meant to do after getting his food. Something... helpful. He chewed a bit slower, continuing to run the thought through his head. Helpful, helpful - Oh!
Wait, no, academic advising wasn't it.
Swallowing the current bite he stewed on it a bit longer, before the lightbulb finally hit.
Tour. DUH.
Cody went on up to Mona, the remainder of the burger still held in one hand. "Hey, I'm not too late to sign up for the tour am I?"

Juniper started slightly as Doolittle spoke to her again, swallowing hard. "Sh--she would?" she squeaked, straightening her skirt. "Well, I -- I guess I'll do and s--- OH!!"
The final word was yelped out as suddenly another -- a younger -- girl went barreling into her. Juniper went off-balance for just one moment before she caught herself, her hat tipping on her head. She held her arms out instinctively, trying to brace the other person.
It was a redheaded child, full of curls and wide eyes and an unspoken sort of apology on her face. Juniper took a step back as she made sure the girl was fine, and smoothed her hat.
"A--are you okay? You took a tumble!" she said.

[ Animal Booth w/ Juniper & Toffee ] Doolittle nodded amiably -- or at least gave one direct dip of his snout and raised his nose again. He was about to respond again when poor Toffee careened into the unsuspecting witch. The mutt flinched, ears back and eyes closed, before he hopped down from his perch and trotted over. She doesn't speak English, yet, dear, Doolittle prefaced to Juniper as he gave both of them both a gentle sniff. They didn't seem to have any major scrapes. In a language Toffee was more used to, the language of a canine, Doolittle expressed to Toffee that Juniper was concerned for her well being. And how are you? he asked the witchling, doggy brows raised slightly over his glasses. x [ Cafeteria Buffet w/ Marcelle ] When Marcelle approached, Hugh smiled as pleasantly as ever at her. His grin was still large and warm from Toffee's kind departure not long ago, as well as a student's patronage earlier. His brows raised at the girl's overpayment, smile growing, and despite her tone it didn't falter with her next comment. "That's very generous of you," Hugh said genuinely, "I'm sure we'll get there in no time." As she left, he gave her dog a quick smile as well, though his brows curved a little. "Hope you both enjoy." x [ Entrance/Tour Sign-up w/ Marcelle (briefly) & Cody ] The younger girl's quick dismissal of further info didn't stop Mona from finishing what she was saying. No, instead she stood on her tip-toes and raised her voice to follow after Marcelle as she walked away. She even went so far as to cup her hands around her mouth to project as much as possible. Once she was out of earshot, Mona shook her head and was about to settle down when a red hooded sweatshirt came into view. "Hey, slacker," she teased with a grin, "Almost! I got you, though. I'm gonna call everyone together in a few minutes and we'll head out." Mona folded her arms and smiled up at the taller teen. x [ Astral Booth w/ WuXia, Celine, Zajac ] Nightshade wove her fingers between each other and tucked her hands beneath her chin. Her pert lips were in a tight smile but it was warm and curious -- particularly at timid little Zajac. "Let's see, then," she started, leaning forward on her elbows to get a good look at WuXia, "Your aura's a very strong red. You're a person of action. There's some yellow, too. You're a hard worker. Goal oriented." Nightshade's smile broadened, her eyes flickering across the hall to Instructor Faust. "I know someone in particular who'll like that."Next up was Zajac. Instructor Nightshade folded her hands atop one another and lowered herself towards the tabletop to not be so imposingly tall to the timid boy. "Ooh, purple... like me," she winked, "and such a soft pink. How subtle." There was a slight pause before she leaned back. "You're a compassionate person. I think you'll make a lot of friends." Finally, it was Celine's turn. Nightshade rested a palm upon her own pale cheek and lifted her chin. "You said you live in a community with aura readers?" Her tone was absolutely delighted. "What did they tell you?" x x

[ Cody --> Bulletin Booth --> Astral Booth ]
Cody shot Mona a quick thumbs up. "Alright, thanks!" A few minutes... which meant he needed to hurry if he wanted to see any of the other stuff beforehand.
This is what he got for getting distracted and being late.
Quickly eating the rest of his burger to the point that it made him look chipmunk cheeked Cody first went over to meet Gabe - though honestly it was a bit more of a drive by than a proper meeting. He rapidly looked over the materials on the table. A free copy of True Psychic Tales? Sweet! "Cool stuff you have here," he said, voice slightly muffled until he swallowed the last of his food. The teen quickly scribbled down his name on the different sign up sheets. "Thanks, gotta run!"
Not sure how much time he was going to have other wise, Cody went over to see Nightshade next, once again tearing through reading the material on the table. He was about to ask if he could take a copy with him when he noticed the 'fortune telling' sign. He dug a quarter out of his pocket. "Would it- can you-" Cody waited a moment for his mouth to catch up with his brain. "Would you be okay telling my fortune?"
A brief wave and a "Hey!" was given to the others currently at the booth - not much of an introduction, but it was still something with how Cody was in the current moment.

[ Zajac | Astral Booth w/ WuXia, Cody & Celine ] Paiently he waited his turn, knowing she could tell the others that he was a coward, someone not worthy of friendship. She could say all sorts of bad things, and there was nothing he could do to stand there. As she read WuXia he looked at the girl. By the sounds of it she was someone he would do good to stick by.
As it became his turn he began to twiddle his thumbs. At her first words he instantly perked up. Like her? That was awesome! The more and more she talked the more his nerves calmed, and by the end of it he felt much better. The fact that she said he was going to make friends, that was something that he liked.
He waited for Celine's reading when Cody showed up, asking for his as well. His curiosity got the best of him and he looked forward to hearing what these new people were all about.

[ Astral Booth w/ WuXia, Celine, Zajac, Cody ] The gloomy instructor's brows rose with a smile at the new addition to the booth. She tucked her hands together and scooted her chair a bit closer. Nightshade briefly glanced at Mona, who appeared to be getting ready near the entrance following the hooded student's visit. "You all signed up for the tour, didn't you?" Nightshade looked between the four of them, though she looked to Celine next, "We can talk more after."Her nails thrummed against the tablecloth as she looked Cody over. "But you... another red. Darker. You're a daredevil. Somewhat reckless." She pursed her lips and looked closer. "Blue. Well-meaning. You have difficulty finding a balance between your opposing points." Nightshade leaned back, making an airy gesture with her hand at the rest of the hall and booths therin, "We can help with that." x [ Entrance / TOUR START ] With a flip of her long hair, Mona brought a finger to her temple and closed her eyes. Everyone who signed up for the tour then heard her voice, clear as if she were standing right next to them, ripple through their minds. Meet me at the entrance, guys. Let's get this show on the road!TOUR STARTS HERE x x x
