Fidgeting a bit, he pulled out his gloves, looking them over and tugging them on with his cigarette still hanging from his mouth. He glanced down at the Fennekin after he had them on, pulling the join out and tilting his head to the side a bit. "We're just going back to the train station. You wanna go back in your pokeball for a bit?" he asked. Fritz seemed to consider it a moment, then gave a sharp little yip of confirmation. Kail nodded, returning the fire pokemon and letting Oshawott and Totodile out, walking ahead and ignoring them both.
"Osh....?" the little water pokemon eked out, looking uncertainly up at his trainer as he walked away. For a second, he thought he was being abandoned-- then he noticed the Totodile grinning menacingly at him. Were its teeth... red? Oshawott quickly turned his gaze forward, gathered himself up, and went into a very fast walk-run to catch up with his trainer. No way he was getting left behind with that thing!

Oshawott quickly ran up to Kail, but the trainer stepped over him, not even glancing back as the Totodile promptly tackled the other water pokemon. He only came to a stop when he reached the edge of town, watching the two wrestle and roll around, Totodile trying to bite down on Oshawott, with the little otter pokemon desperately trying to fight him off. He raised his eyebrows as the pokemon finally took the shell from its belly and began promptly bashing it into totodile's head, raising an eyebrow and watching as he successfully beat him off him, and stood, huffing.
"Huh..." Kail pulled out his pokeball, returning the dizzied totodile as it got to its feet and stumbled around, then shrugged dismissively and turned. "Well, you probably are a higher level than him, for now. It would be pretty sad if you lost in such a stupid brawl," he remarked, making his way towards Twinleaf.

With his hands in his pockets Apollo meandered into Sandgem, blue gaze flickering about the small town he could just barely make out the sea that lay to the south. Another 'quaint' town really, though unlike Twinleaf this town had its own place of interest: a pokemon lab. The musician neither stalled nor took any more time thinking his plan over, there wasn't much of a plan anyway: present the candy bar, ask for a pokemon. It was simple, the only thing he needed from the professor was for the man to be in good spirits and approve his request.
Apollo pushed open the wide doors to laboratory, home to the esteemed Professor Rowan, and entered slowly, Eris by his side. Their entrance was noticed almost instantly, not by the professor himself but one of the many aides that ran about the lab-- the entire building was about as active as a Durant nest-- who stopped in his tracks, quickly fixed the crooked glasses askew over the bridge of his nose, and pointed the male in the right direction before hurrying about his way. "Professor Rowan?" he approached the older gentleman, his hand already hovering above the space in his bag he'd stored the Ragecandybar away. "I'd like a Piplup if you have one." the man quirked a bushy brow, his mustache wrinkling as his lips parted. Rowan was about to speak before the sound of plastic crinkling unintentionally cut him off. Curiosity embedded itself in his expression and he waited expectantly for Apollo to return his full attention back to him, the Ragecandybar now in his hand.
"Of course, I'd be more than happy to sweeten the deal." he told the man, a smirk finally appearing on his face as his hand, palm up, extended out. Professor Rowan snorted, obviously unamused by the pun-- none of his current company seemed to lately-- but quickly turned on his heels and held up a finger to indicate for Apollo to wait. He returned not a minute later with a pokeball, which he placed firmly into Apollo's hand before swiping the candy away. Despite the man's crass demeanor and the silent, almost shady nature of their trade, he was more than pleased and with a silent nod turned to leave. "Pleasure doing business with you, Professor."

Apollo stepped back into the sunlight, his feet sinking down into the sand before he lifted one foot into the air, absently shaking the grainy particles from the sole of his shoe, and began walking. The exchange had gone about as smooth as he could've hoped, which was always good. From the unwavering glance Eris threw his way, however, he could tell that she didn't understand exactly what she'd just witnessed. "We've got ourselves a new teammate." the bright-haired male summed up, unwillingly to go into depth about how he'd managed to trade a single candy bar for a starter. As if to prove his point, Eris nodded and dropped her gaze, satisfied with her answer.

Apollo had gotten everything he'd needed from Sandgem Town, and the region as a whole, really. Which meant it was time to head back to Twinleaf and take a trip on the train, which was exactly what the musician did. He whistled a random tune as he walked back down to the town, his thoughts bouncing from one subject to the other. He'd have to start training soon, actually training, he also needed to figure out what exactly he wanted to accomplish during this journey of his. Fortunately for him, he was almost positive that an answer would present itself to him, in due time. Until then, he'd just go about aimlessly until a plan was properly formulated.

It took a bit of time before Zakhav had everything packed up, but by then it was bordering on late morning. He quickly got everything together, making sure his chair was folded securely and strapping it to his backpack. He carefully nested the egg back inside it's back, hoisting the box over his shoulder again, and returning Totodile and Lillipup. "You two can stay out eef you vant," he drawled to Deys and Sotnik, already heading for the path out of the area. He was pretty sure it was a good walk to Sandgem, and, indeed, it took a while before they were really on the path leading there, but soon they were on their way, meandering through the routes.

After a bit of walking they were able to near the town, Zakhav raising his gaze, still holding the egg box over his shoulder, his fingers loosely gripping the handle. He'd considered carrying it himself, but honestly, he didn't want anything happening to it-- being stolen, knocked out of his hands, or anything-- and it was safer and more obscure in its box. Wandering through the town, he kept an eye out for the pokecenter, eyes immediately locking on when it came into view. He strode in, requesting where he could wash up and such, and following the nurse's directions to the housing area. Thank goodness for pokecenters... A reliable and generous staple of civilization.

Setting his things down and gathering up the egg and some clean clothes, Zakhav let Deys and Sotnik hang back while he went into the bathroom. Both pokemon glanced briefly at each other as the door closed behind their trainer. Zak placed the stopper in the sink once he got the water going at a warm temperature, filling it and nestling the egg in the warm water so it would stay heated. Meanwhile, he got into a hot shower to wash off, scrubbing his hair to get the dirt out, and changing into a pair of clean clothes once he was done. He gently dried the egg off, after, tucking it into his arm and coming out, only to find both of his pokemon staring at him. "Vhat?" he asked, frowning. Scarlett hid herself among the trees at the edge of Sandgem Town, glancing around for any sign of her pursuers. The sky scouts had long since flown overhead and onward, now Scarlett just had to worry about any ground sweepers. So far neither Koga nor Cypher had raised any alarm, and Scarlett didn't see anything from her position, so for now, she walked out calmly from the tree line and into the small town, glancing around with leisure. Keep a low profile, don't stand out as suspicious. She melted easily into the town. Though she made sure to appear relaxed however, she kept a sharp eye out. "Pick up on anything?" Scarlett asked Cypher smoothly. "Negative." Cypher insisted, though it was clearly still nervous.
Unlike Cypher, Koga was keeping his distance, continuing to hide in the bushes and keep a sharper watch. Though, as he did so, he picked up a small blue box, an odd device to be sure, but Scarlett knew more about these things than he did. He would hold on to it for now and bring it up later when they weren't being pursued. Besides, he needed to focus on the task at hand; watching for anyone chasing after Scarlett. His eye caught his trainer's, and the Scizor nodded, a signal that all was clear from where he stood. Scarlett returned the subtle nod, quickly and calmly making her way through the town. Poseidon pranced up to the rustling grass to find a wild Starly plucking at the foliage, probably collecting loose twigs and leaves to make a nest. Too bad it was making such a ruckus, because Scarlett had noticed and selected it to be the target of his training. Now... How could he use this new mysterious power he felt? It was as if he had an endless amount of water at his disposal, all he had to do was open his beak and-- "Pluuububububup!!!" Poseidon shot a torrent of water at the poor unsuspecting Starly and sent it flying. Scarlett's eyes twinkled. Such power! She knew she'd made the right choice in selecting a Piplup as her new crew member. "Starting analysis.... By my calculations, 27% of that Hydro Pump's power was needed to knock out the target Starly. This left 73% of the Hydro Pump's power unused. Conclusion; We should look for stronger opponents." Cypher computed.
Scarlett rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Hm... Agreed. Takin' out these weak pokemon won't be servin' our newest crew member any use. What's some of the other pokemon in the area?" She asked curiously. "Sandgem Town is inhabited by a number of various species, though they are fairly common throughout the Sinnoh region and quite weak. They seek shelter here due to the peace kept by humans in the area and absence of most predatory and or violent pokemon. Due to the weak nature of the inhabitants, if you would like to find a pokemon who would best pose at the very least, a challenge to Poseidon, I would suggest finding a Shinx, due to it's type advantage, and resistance to water type attacks." Scarlett nodded. "I see, and where, prey tell, might we find one?" Scarlett inquired with a wry smile. "Shinx are found often near the outskirts of town, both in Sandgem and Jubilife City, though stronger Shinx are found closer to Jubilife." Scarlett nodded. "Alright, 's lookin' like all signs be pointin' to Jubilife then." She turned her gaze down the path. "Let's get ourselves goin', no need to deal with this rabble. It'd be a waste of our time." With that, they headed for Jubilife City.

Well, that had not only been useful, but it had actually been rather enjoyable. The woman was... interesting, in a unique way. When she said they had a few things in common, she wasn't kidding; it was almost bizarre. He had a feeling that she wasn't exactly the most law abiding citizen, given some of the shady-sounding aliases on her contacts, and, of course, those people that had been chasing her. There was something sharp, intelligent, quick-witted and sly about her; he had a feeling that if circumstances had been otherwise, they might have actually gotten along, at least in some way.
He wasn't putting his money into making a friendship with her, though. He didn't do friendship, really. He did acquaintances, perhaps close acquaintances, but he only had a few he'd consider 'friends'. At best, from her, he was hoping for 'generally cooperative and not too quick to stabbing him in the back and getting revenge'. And... maybe some more of that flirting. He still couldn't quite tell just how serious that taunting 'consideration' had been, but it certainly continued the trend of her being a curious individual.
Zak caught Deys' sideways stare from the corner of his eye, and glanced over at him. Right... he needed to focus on work. He shifted, pulling out his computer to make sure it was still running the program-- it was. It was almost into the system, too, at this point. Well... that was one way to kill time. He put the electronic device away, and pulled out his communication system, which he'd been continuing to work on. It was almost done, and as he tweaked some of the tiny chips and wiring, he placed it onto his wrist, adapting the form to be exchangeable from a hand-held to watch-like. The screen was build of five panels: a center one, and one on each of its borders. They all folded up when he made it a watch, piling one on the other, but they were thin enough that it didn't get irritatingly or stupidly thick. The back of the top one, when they were all folded in as a watch, turned into screen, so he could still use it when it was 'compacted'. Clearly, not as well, but it was good enough for him to draw a stylus and start testing out the systems once he had it set up.

Once he was sure everything was working properly, he began putting it through his usual systems; downloading software, putting up defenses, doing tests, etc. He would let it run, for now, and turned off the screen for the time being, tucking the stylus away. He wanted to put a request in for Lillipup's replacement, so that he could get it before they returned to the pokemon's 'hometown', so to speak, but he had to make sure everything was running smoothly and safely secured, first. Rubbing his temples, he considered training in the meantime, but honestly... the pokemon were just far too weak here. There would be no point. Sotnik could pretty much kick one and that would be the end of it; Zak couldn't imagine much experience being gained from that. And consequently, he was fairly sure that there wouldn't be many decent trainers, either.
His best bet was to try and make his way, quickly as possible, to Unova, so he could start battling the gyms.
