Val saw to making sure the survivors had a wagon of sorts to carry supplies and and the worst of the wounded. She set up pull shifts and they were going to be ready to head out.... soon as she new which way to go. Diana wasn't talking to her, she was occupying some of the children with magic. A shadow play of sorts in her hands. Val watched a moment, a pang of homesickness weasled it's way into her mind despite having only left the tattered lands earlier that day. Diana was easier to get a long with. She was always more social, so Val let Diana get to know the people. She would glean the information from her later. For now, they needed to get moving. She found her way to Nell.
"Do you know where this.... North is?" she asked, almost exactly the same question as her sister. There was a reason they didn't know the direction. "It would appear we will need your assistance." she said without a hint of shame. She squatted near him to poke at a plan with a yellow flower on it. A Dandolion, she raised a brow as the milky juice seeped out of the broken stem. That was entirely gross. She stood up again quickly.

The journal, after being blank for an hour or more would return to it's written state. Continuing it's reading of Koneko's years. Sometimes the book would stay written for days, sometimes it would fade out to blank pages as if it were confused. The journal contained more than it physically should.

Nell blinked, "it's a direction. And yes I made a map to help us out." He stood up from his spot and held up the rolled up paper, "I'll be happy to help." He pointed in a direction, "we will head that way for starters, but a mountain will be in the way after a while. So we'll either have to swim across a river, or go through the forest to get around that mountain. There's no way the carts will make it up, it's too steep." He looked to her unsure she understood what he meant, "thank you for helping everyone." He looked down, "it sounds like this could be a burden for you and your sister. Just arriving and all, but the worlds under attack, it started only a few hours ago.

Fu blinked and leaned forward, that was strange. He tried to look through the pages to see how the book worked. Sadly though he couldn't only to the conclusion it must have been some sort of spell Koneko left on the book. "still have a few tricks it seems," he whispered to himself as he went back to the page that had appeared close to where he last stopped. He's already learned something he didn't know, now the book reviled more, and who knew how long it would continue to show the written text. He wouldn't take the chance of waiting, so he read what more he could...

Val blinked. A Direction? Like Starboard or Port? Val didn't know it but Starboard was the equivalent of this planets East more or less. Of course, their home hadn't been the roundest thing in the universe... Nautical terms worked fine for her home, but it would take a while to get used to the idea of a round planet.... just... circulating around a sun as if it was an owned thing. Preposterous. None of that mattered.

She wanted to sidestep the sympathy she felt from him. This was a burden? The boy had little idea of the armies she had stood for in years past... "The only Burden so far is the air and light quality here. Without a purpose, why should I exist? My purpose now is it make sure you humans are safe and then...." she cut herself off. She had been cast out of her own world as it was dying to prevent another world from collapsing... only to be stuck on baby-sitting duty. She grimaced, changing the subject back to their travels. "They don't have the strength to push carts up a mountain even if they could, but these won't float very easily either. Do you know of any local Bahamut in that area? If not, we may have to chance the forest." She had no idea if the flora and Fauna here were as deadly as the ones at her home world... There, if you pee'd on the wrong tree, it might piss right back on you and then wedge you into it's roots for fertilizer.
It was true, she saw it happen once. Diana said it was a Hallucination from overcharging her solar panels.

Null blinked and started walking, "I have no idea what that is." He shrugged, "guess we'll find out." He thought I might be some sort of flower or something, maybe a type of bad bug. he wasn't sure, he just knew it was time to get moving. He took lead as the people started to get up and get to the carts. It seems they were egar to go still. As they walked however Null looked back to Val, "I thought a warriors purpose was to protect the weak?" He blinked with a confused expression, was he correct?

Diana danced between people and carts, helping where she could and flittering about like a social butterfly, albeit a dark one as she helped the move along.
Val scrunched her nose up a bit. He didn't know what a Bahamut was? "Big, wet, kinda scaly.... has six fins... You don't have those here?" she shook it off, "Nevermind." she added cracking a wry smile at his comment about a warriors purpose.
"That depends on the Warrior I suppose.... Sometimes a Warrior becomes blinded and unable to see." Val scooped up a kid that tripped at their feet, almost as soon as the child started falling. The little one darted off back to their parents. "Some warriors don't fight to protect."
"And sometimes they can't see their purpose because their helm is too small for their big head." chirruped Diana, who appeared suddenly draping her arm around Nells shoulders as if he were an old friend. She stuck her tongue out at the lighter sibling. "Are you a warrior Nell? Do you know your purpose~?"

*Nell pulsed. He... he didn't know. He looked down in thought. Then looked back up to the people ahead of him, "I'm... not a warrior. I cant fight, I'm weak. Lack the ability to hurt anyone even if I could." He looked to daina, "I guess after this trip I really don't have a purpose. What purpose I did have was all back in that village." He shrugged, "guess... i'll just have to find a new purpose." He said the last few words almost instantly, before he realized how he was being and sounding. He snapped out of it and looked to Val, "if a warrior isn't there to protect, then what would they right for?" He wasn't sure, but he was rather interested to find her answer.

Val leveled a strong look at the young man. "They may fight to destroy. To conquer... Warriors aren't always fighting the good war." She snapped and with that, she stalked off, leaving Diana with the boy. Diana watched her sister nearly trample over a tree before she shifted her direction back to the path.
"Don't take it personal if she seems a little testy... She had someone close defect to the other side in one of our wars." Diana grinned and licked the boys cheek.

Nell jumped in reaction to the lick, he hadn't been expecting that. He was trying to wipe it off, "what was that for!" he almost yelled, almost. He understood these girls came from a different world, but why the hell would she like him in the middle of a warrior talk. He didn't understand, and he now walked a step further from her, just in case she did it again. He tried to continue the conversation though to make it less awkward, if that was even possible, "okay I guess I didn't think of both sides of the coin so to speak but, most of the time people think of true warriors as the good kind..." He shrugged, "at least that's how this country sees things. Like Miss Eve Yokai, she's one of the greatest warriors of the nation. She's probably out there right now, fighting to save whatever people are left, and looking for a way to stop the invasion." He hoped a example would show what he knew to them, maybe help them think more about it too, then again who knows how there brains worked. They were female looking, android like, licking aliens... right?

Diana tilted her head. "Your people have strange greeting customs." she commented when he asked what the lick was for. She had just seen a small child run up to another and lick them on the face. The receiving end of the child's lick reacted much like Nell just did. She shrugged. "Where we come from, there is good and bad... but this concept of absolute evil is new to us. A small child tried to explain it to me as a man who steals all of your cookies...." Diana folded her hands out awkwardly. "But the analogy was lost on me. I don't know what a cookie is." She smiled. "Val used to be one of our strongest Valkyries. She doesn't want me to say much about certain things where we come from, so other than that... that's classified." she chuckled. "This Invasion isn't the first of it's kind. Or maybe it is... I don't know what sort of rift we came through when we arrived, I only followed my sister." She danced ahead to catch up with him. "Does this Eve of yours take peoples cookies?"
She was confusing Eve and Evil together.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 23, 2015 6:09 pm

Nell looked to her, "o.... oh... okay..." so she was trying to say hello by doing what she saw others doing. I guess if you were... like them in a new world, it would make sense to watch and interact. "Cookies... is a type of food... there are all different types. Kids really like them, but too many of them are bad for you." He chuckled. "yea we didn't know true evil here until these things showed up and started killing everything, angels, demons, devils, humans, Yokai, animals, anything even trees in most places." He shrugged, "this is the only invasion I've ever lived through, and I never heard of one like this before in history class." He was rather supprized to see her now asking about Eve, but it was a topic most of the countrys citizans knew well, everyone loved eve. "No she's a good Warrior. Eve Yokai is the first doughter of the king Yuji, well when he was a king. Now his son is king, Donte Yokai. But anwyas, Eve is a warrior that belives in honer and protecting the weak. She brings streigth to anyone around her, and razes the spirts of anyone that needs to defend themselves. She was queen for a small time, and she only defends people, she never takes offence. She has four sisters on one little brother..." he thought about it, "ummm I don't know what else I may have missed..." he thought more on it, "she's vary desirable to most men too. I'll even ammit she's kinda hot..." he shrugged. "There may be more, but I don't know her personally. She saved the village from a group of thevies once while passing through though." He chuckled and gace a smerk, "and when we get to safty, i'll find you a cookie, just so you know what one tastes like."

Diana sighed wistfully, practically drooling. Food. When had she last consumed actual food? She couldn't remember the last time... actual consumption was the quickest and simplest way to gain energy, even if it seemed primal to her father back in their world. Energy Conversion was the best way to obtain sustenance when fighting a war, or so he always said. Before her sister was reborn, they used to sneak food, often being fed sweetmeats by the elder-mothers of the human tribes who didn't know any better and thought the two children were human just like the rest of the hungry mouths they fed. Even long after that, they ate what was put before them. Each of the Nine Realms had different ways to greet there Valkyries. Diana liked the ones who greeted them with food the best. Valfreyja always called her a bottomless pit, though if she were honest Val could just keep eating. Probably forever.
"I find it strange that you consider your desirable women to be.... hot." she admitted, "Where I come from they are simply treasures, neither hot or cold though..." She shook her head in wonder, stooping a short ways ahead of him and turning to walk backwards, throwing her long black hair back out of her way. She crossed her heart with her fist and gave a half bow over it. "I'll hold you to your word on that cookie sir." she declared, giving him a grin before bouncing off through the shade.

He blushed, "no I didn't mean it like that, she's just good looking. And by hot I mean, she's litarly a lava elimental." He chuckled, "they call her a Reciver. But it doesn't really matter right now." He pointed to the forest appearing the head, "there." He checked his map, "it's a big set of woods and..." he pulsed as they got closer and the people were now slowing down. The forrest looked... dead. Burn, bare, like a dryed up field of empty sticks. He stared as if broken for a moment. This was a place the villagers loved to go to and do a camp event each year. Now... it was barly even recognizable. "it's... all gone..." he replied sadly as the people turned to see if this was really a good idea.

Diana called over her shoulder before they arrived in reply to Nells Explanation to his use of the word 'hot'.... "Glad to know you're not a cannibal Nelly~" she chirruped.

When they reached the wrecked remains of the forest. Death surrounded them. Val glanced back to the people and Nell. So the Forest wasn't normally like this... She blinked before scanning the area visually, letting tiny green text scroll information to her through her retina scanners. She found herself cringing and stepping forward, motioning for everyone to wait. She strode into the remains a short distance and squat, placing the hand with her gauntlet/bracelet onto the ground and closing her eyes. She was at a far enough distance from the humans that she hoped to garner no interest in her doings. Val cast her senses out in hopes of finding life's light somewhere in the ground. Her brow furrowed in concentration until warning signs flickered behind her eyelids. When she opened her eyes her vision was splotched with dark spots. Alarmed, Val stood up too fast and stumbled backwards and onto her backside. She blinked and tried to rub the spotty vision away but it didn't help. While this was alarming to herself, it would do no good to panic the humans. She stood, turning her vision sensors down. She strode back to the people as if nothing had happened. She quirked a small smile at them. "The absence of life is alarming. Does anyone know what may have happened here?" She had a guess as to what just happened, but she would tell Diana later rather than now, even though the sibling was trying to glare a hole into the side of her head. It was sad, but they would have to push on. In the meantime she discarded most of her armor and placed it into one of the carts. She needed to conserve on her energy supply, so it made no sense to remain plugged into it.
Diana said nothing at her sisters actions, but she wore her heart on her sleeve. Night was fast approaching most likely, she could feel it in her bones. The days on this planet must be short, hadn't they just arrived hours ago? She stopped glaring at her sister and turned her glare on the map in Nells hands so no one thought she was going to murder her.

Nell was rather confused when Diana said he wasn't a cannibal, but decided to drop it. Nell noticed Daina soon looking at the map over his shoulder. He held it out better for her to see, unsure if she could read it. "It's a big forrest, or was... at least a nights walk. We should reach the other side sometime by morning, according to this there will be a lake just of to the west, and a river that sprouts from it across the way. BUt I know theres a bridge there, and what was a city. Hopefully it's still standing and that's where we are ment to go." He looked up. The people looked worried, unsure if all hope was to be lost yet or not. THey knew what killed that forrest, the same thing that turned the sky colors, the same thing that destroyed there home and friends, those Golem creatures from that other demention that's what. But they started moving forword anyways. Nell cought up beside Val, "we can use everyones eyes to scout around, if they see danger, they should call out. Then you too can take care of it. I'll be out front to lead I guess." He looked to her input.

Val turned her face towards him to mimic glancing at him though her eyes didn't focus on him. That was actually a very good idea. She didn't think the people were capable of basic scouting, but obviously if a young one would bring it up... "Alright, you know the people better than I do as to who would be best to send out on the fringes and you know the way. I cannot argue as it is a good system." she said, nodding slightly. Diana bounced on the balls of her feet, "I'll go with you up front. If something happens, at least one of us should be able to get back to the group. Everyone should probably go out in pairs."
