I'm kind of with Hydro on this. We don't want to do anything that people like the D-Party will be doing because we don't want to step on Hassli's toes. Role-playing during the event is fine as it's always encouraged during every event where we have a thread. However, let's not make it the main focus of the thread because there's already a lot going on.
Here's what we have going on so far:
✖ Best Dressed Human Base: Prizes will be a July 2014 letter and a Black G9 Laptop
✖ Best Dressed Animal Base: Prizes will be a July 2014 letter and an original Animal OMG Hat
✖ Door Prizes: To be determined but we can either hand out letters or a letter and the Red Horns of the Demon (unless you think we should save those for Halloween)
✖ Goldfish "Scooping": Simple random number contest handing out Fan of Fish Sweaters or if I can do it a little doodle of a fish in a bag.
✖ Charms: If Hydro thinks she can work up some small line art of a charm Meushi would like to sell or hand them out.
✖ Freebie Art: Hydro's going to be handing out three freebie head shots during the event.
I think this will be more than enough for us to do for the event. We're going to hold off on having a raffle as it didn't go very well last time. I might throw out some random anonymous gifts to people using the Caches we have way too many of as a sign of good will. If there's anything you think we shouldn't do or if you have any ideas on prizes and how we can run what we do have on the list let me know. I would like to start working on the actual thread by this weekend in the test forum so people who are running little "booths" can have their own post and everything can be uniform in look.

Do you have a look going for the thread so far, Chibi? I do have the same basic look we had going for the last event going for this one. I like to keep the body of the event threads the same with the text colors changing from event to event and the header graphics being custom done for each event. Once I decide on a pallet for this event I'll shoot over the code for body of each individual post I use in a PM so we can keep everything cohesive.

Stop Dont Believin I think I want to run a food booth. While I'd be all for this, I've seen the D-Party thread they have worked up so far in the Test Forum and the major focus of their whole RPing is a food booth using the Japanese food items you can buy from Rina. They always have some kind of bar or quickie food stand during events as their role-play focus. Maybe instead of "selling" the foods on a stick like Hassli's group will be doing you could focus on the Bubble Teas from Rina's shop. While it's not traditional Japanese festival food they are a Japanese specialty.
You could also do fried noodle dishes if you really want to have a food stand since the way I worked up the setting for our festival thread Fong's Noodle Palace and Diner will be having a fried noodles stand.

Okay guys from the Email Gaia sent out tonight the event will be kicking off next week. We do need to buckle down and get the thread going. I'm going to finish up what I've been working on and send off PMs to those of you who are volunteering to run things with the basic code for the body of the posts so you can work up what you're doing for your part of the thread. I'll let you guys know when it's okay to post up in your thread. Hopefully, we'll be able to get this done by Sunday at the latest.
How about we run with the Bubble Teas to keep it to things people can get on Gaia? Pretty much what the D-Party does is post up what people can order based on either things that can be purchased from Rina or real world versions and then role-play people ordering them. We can have a small way to get your attention during the event when they want to order a drink. This will help with the light role-playing we'll have during the event. Would you be up for that?

I hope everyone doesn't mind a very bright and colorful and somewhat overly cute look to the thread graphics. I'm basing things off of the colors from the Bubble Teas since I really couldn't find a decent pallet I liked to begin with.
