Puppet on a String Theory

Odd. I've never really drawn a connection from Spock's Beard to Dream Theater. Maybe the Dramatic Turn of Events album.

xxx It may just be that I haven't fully explored Spock's Beard, but it's a connection that I draw more from progression and technicalities, nonetheless. I was thinking a bit of Octavarium, myself.

Ah, that explains it. I've listened to hardly any of the Octavium album. What I've heard from it, though, was very nice. Very Pink Floyd-esque.

xxx Octavarium is amongst my favourite of Dream Theater's albums, actually. Some of its pieces are exceptional in terms of musicianship, though Dream Theater is generally capable of displaying that.

Yeah, I'm seeing what you mean with the similarities in progression. Especially with the "Never Enough" track.
When it comes to Dream Theater, their best attribute has to be how different all of their albums sound from one another.
My personal favorite is Systematic Chaos.
