Ⓢuffering a loss is... The child suffered in silence at the right hand of her Captain as he shook his head with a sigh. Upon his clarification of why the documents were needed, Noriko came as close to dying as she thought she could possibly without croaking literally. Her endeavor was to remain composed throughout all of this emotional anguish. She was succeeding so far with only one bead of sweat to betray her. Before more could join it visibly, Noriko fixed her hood over her neat bun of jet black hair while shifting the mask over the bottom half of her face once again. Suddenly, the Covert Ops seemed so much better and less intimidating than this, but she had made her decision. If there was one thing for which she would not mind being known, it was that she stuck with a task and followed it through till the end. As she stood there, bearing the painstakingly long silence of her Captain while he did something in his sleeves, the lieutenant stretched her arms inconspicuously behind her back. She had not been sleeping well with the anticipation of her approval fueling her insomnia night after night. Thankfully, she had quite the collection of novels from the World of the Living to keep her company during those lonely nights. Doubt crept into her mind about the possibility of continuing such habits under this new leadership. Her eyes sized up her Captain once more, all the while calming her spirit. If she could keep up with the Commander of the Covert Ops, then this man should not be a problem. Finished with her minute stretch, Noriko cracked her neck for fun in time to see Captain retrieve a bundle of pages from the sleeves of his haori.
‘How did this stay in there for so long without bulging or ripping a hole?’ she wondered randomly as he instructed her to read through it thoroughly. Apparently, it was his personal copy of the case file. That meant that there were personal notes. In spite of herself, Noriko was grinning from ear to ear as he slipped the package into her awaiting arms. Reading was her preferred pastime, and non-fiction had a special place in her heart.
“Yes, sir,” she gushed unwittingly, scanning the immediate area already for an appropriate space to delve into the white pages of knowledge. Everything seemed too far or at least, it would if she was not standing at five feet four inches with everyone else being markedly taller than she was. She hated her height for this reason and others. Knowing that it would be highly inappropriate to read the file in the presence of lower-ranked officers as well as other Captains especially if they were connected to the case, the lieutenant held it to her chest securely as she approached the circumference of the inner circle. They seemed to be a bit braver now, knowing that she was only their Lieutenant, not a member of the Executive Militia. With a slight movement of her head to the right, Noriko eyed them curiously, which made some of them flinch involuntarily. Wordlessly, she kicked off the ground hard enough to propel her safely into the rafters of the dojo. She reached out to one once she was on the same level and swung herself onto it. They had been constructed stable and wide enough for sitting and she could not be happier about that. Upon settling herself there, above the crowd and her Captain, Noriko flipped to the first page to begin her reading.
She was a notoriously fast reader, but classified documents such as this one required attentive reading skills so that nothing was missed even on the first try. That did not deter her speed by much. As she continued her journey through the written word, her knowledge increased steadily about the situation at hand and why it was here that he had come to first. On some points, she did not agree with him at all. For others, it seemed that they were in sync. The whole investigation seemed to be one, big game that would not have a winner until the truth was realized and even then, one could not be sure. Her heart went out to the ex-Captain Nananshi Yamamoto even though she did not know the woman personally. Even with her reputation, this could not be an easy turn of events to swallow. This was being classified as her betrayal against the Seireitei, but she could only see it as the other way around. From her reading, she recognized the blue-eyed lady with pink hair as the Captain of the Third Division. Was she really as innocent as she seemed to be, based on the little evidence found? Noriko flipped through the pages some more, taking in all that her Captain had written on the matter. She would try her best to lend her skills in strategy and tactics to him. In a case like this, a clouded vision could leave everyone blind. After her first reading, she scanned the pages again, memorizing faces and the necessary facts such as locations, evidence, and testimonies. She knew how competent she was, even if she had planted a seed of potential doubt in the mind of her new Captain already. She knew of what she was capable.
With that in mind, the Tenth Division Lieutenant sighed before standing atop the rafter. She eyed the long distance down, seemingly nervous about dropping from that height. What a joke that thought would be as unexpectedly, she would allow herself to freefall, landing with her body perched close to the floor effortlessly. In seconds, she composed herself in a kneeling position and an arm clutched the extensive file to her chest. It had taken her roughly three minutes to complete the task that she had been granted. She smirked under her mask at her Captain’s back.

Jubaku paused at the thought of giving her his own personal copy of the case file, but instead let her have it freely without any regrets in his mind. It was at this moment his new lieutenant gleefully took the report and immediately made off to a secluded area above in order to read it. Was she... happy? Was it just the chance to read that made her this enthusiastic or maybe it was simply the fact that he put a bit of trust in her in giving her his case file. Whatever the case, she was definitely more energetic than she had previously been before.
He took a deep breath and turned his attention back towards the situation. Jubaku knew of the procedures of the Seireitei, especially when it came to the criminal justice laws, but the expedited trial of Ex-Captain Nanashi along with an immediate verdict of high treason was indeed suspicious to him. What set off an even bigger red flag was that despite this being an obvious breach of security within the Seireitei, and therefore an internal investigation matter, Jubaku was never give any sort of notice on the incident in question until it was far too late and the trail was well since over. Someone else had been hire to make their own investigation into the matter and seemingly turned up evidence against the the former Captain. And further more, where was all this incriminating evidence? Where was the hair and fingerprints? Where was this so-called-drill device that was used for the break in? Jubaku had seen the trial videos and listened to the testimonies. Somethings just didn't add up and Jubaku was going to find the truth. There was so much unaccounted for and so many unanswered questions. Was Nanashi innocent? Was she guilty? Did she have any enemies? And if so, why was this allowed to happen? Jubaku's gut feeling was telling him that if anyone had more answers, it was Captain Jack Mallory.
As Jubaku snapped back into focus his Lieutenant had seemingly finished reading his report and dropped down behind him. She seemed far more confident than before, as if she had finally gotten some more backbone to her disposition. Jubaku liked that change. He turned to the side a moment and offered out his hand to take his bundle of papers back.

This was ridiculous. Did any pause to think that she might not be available for questioning when she wasn’t in her office. No! They didn’t! They just assumed that since she was always so accommodating about sex she was accommodating about everything! Well she wasn’t. She was more than slightly ticked off about this! In addition Jinsin didn’t seem to realize that Jack hadn’t wanted him to stop training just because of the interruptions. Still she couldn’t really find fault with him. This was important. She held out the box of goodies for him to take.
Jack smiled at her fellow Captains, “You are right in time Captain Jubaku . But I must remark that you did not need to bring half of your Division with you.” Jack moved away to watch everybody and, waved Jinsin to follow her, “I will say this once so pay attention.” Jack was still smiling but, her ire could be detected, “Nanashi Yamamoto and I were lovers. That should not be much of a surprise to anyone nor, under ordinary circumstances, should it be important. However it is my belief that someone wishing to frame either Yamamoto or myself collected samples from either my Red Door Room or Yamamoto’s room. They inadvertently collected samples of the other in their quest to frame merely the one of us.” Jack dropped the smile, “I believe that whoever the true culprit was, was attempting to frame Yamamoto given the fact that it was indeed proven that I was framed.” Jack had not yet sheathed her Zanpakuto and, was pacing to observe the layout of the Division Ten people, “I find it odd that Central 46 didn’t even pause to consider the fact that if I had been framed it was very likely that Nanashi had been framed as well.”
Jack noted that members of her division were carefully moving into strategic positions. If it came to a fight Division Three would have the advantage. Jack felt relief at that. She did not like the fact that Captain’s seemed to think that it was okay to waltz in her to demand things of her at their convenience instead of hers. She had a division to run! Did these people not know that.

Ⓢuffering a loss is... From her willingly subservient position, Noriko listened intently to the words of the Third Division’s Captain while keeping an ear out for her movements. She kept her eyes focused on a minute area of the hardwood floor. She had not dismissed her Captain’s request for her opinion; only letting the stage set itself before she spoke her mind. The lieutenant understood that Captain Mallory was evaluating the situation because in her mind, they had approached her quite tactlessly and impolitely, to say the least. When the older woman had finished her speech, her contemptuous tone for the situation never wavering, Noriko squinted slightly before speaking her mind. Her head remained motionless.
“Captain Mallory, you say that it should not be a surprise to any of us that there was a personal relationship of sorts between the ex-Captain and yourself. Due to the inconsistent nature of this investigation and what has resulted in so far, why you assume that we are here on behalf of the Central 46? We are here to hear your side of the story if you will allow it, not to condemn, but to learn.” At this statement, Noriko rose in a swirling fashion until she was facing the direction of the Captain of the Third Division. “I cannot and I will not speak on behalf of my Captain on this matter, but I want to apologize for upsetting you during this time of uncertainty.” Her eyes were the only visible facial feature at the time so she allowed them to soften briefly so that the Captain would feel the genuine feeling behind these last words.
With a flick of her ankle, the young woman would turn herself around completely to face to the posterior view of her own Captain, slipping his personal notes into his possession simultaneously. “Sir, my thoughts are only that we should try to find out the truth as soon as possible as well as to secure the return of ex-Captain Yamamoto Nanashi for further questioning and her protection.” Admittedly, she did not understand much of what was happening and she was hoping that she had not spoken severely out of turn during the past few seconds of her life. However, Noriko could not help thinking that someone, especially Captain Jack Mallory, needed to know that not everyone was against ex-Captain Yamamoto and herself. There is someone fighting for the objectivity of it all.
“As for the enclosure created by members of my division, Captain Mallory, I assume that it was to secure the area even more than it is already as evidenced by your own members lending a hand around the perimeter. That is why they are here, correct? To assist in security as you help us to clear the name of Yamamoto Nanashi, your acclaimed lover?” Noriko turned her head slightly, folding her arms behind her back. She glanced in the general direction of Captain Jack, keeping her hearing and other senses sharp as the situation unfolded. ...Gaining a new Ⓛife. Jubaku obviously noticed the Captain's less-than-subtle discomfort with the situation. As she subtly scowled at him, he felt as if he had maybe gotten off on the wrong foot with his investigation, but he could not afford to stand on ceremony as much as Captain Mallory may have wished it to be so. Time was of the essence in these matters and Jubaku could not afford to waste any more of it chasing loose ends and essentially grasping at smoke with his bare hands. He couldn't help but smile ever so slightly however as she made a remark at having brought half his squad with him. Half. Half. Ha.
He then listened to her was again spouting out all the facts that even the lowest seated Shinigami of any squad would be able to tell him about Captain Mallory and Nanashi. He then sighed as he noticed that several members of Captain Mallory's position were gathering all across the perimeter of the area. Jubaku then sighed as he ever so gently lifted up his cane off the ground. It was then that his new Lieutenant stepped up and began to speak. He surprised at her new found spirit and her taking the initiative in speaking ahead of him. He now listened to her speak, as his Lieutenant went on, he slowly walked up beside her, continuing to listen as she spoke for herself in these matters, stating explicitly that she would not speak for himself. He was starting to like her more and more as she went on.
She then turned and handed him his case file as she spoke her opinion on the subject of the case itself. He slowly spirited away the case file back into his sleeves as his hands disappeared only to reappear moments later with the bundle of papers seemingly gone without a trace. His lieutenant than made the comment about all of the Squad 3 members he had noticed earlier. Perhaps the situation was getting far too heated. It was time for a small compromise. He faced Captain Mallory with the most sincere expression he could muster.
"Captain Mallory, I can tell that my presence has irked you far more than I had intended, but this situation is very time-sensitive and every second counts. If you truly cared for Nanashi Yamamoto, the please: help me to understand the truth. But I see how hard it must seem right now to trust others so allow me to give you this small concession."
He then faced the exit he came from and made a small hand gesture as well as thumping his cane on the ground twice.
"Everyone, stand down and return to the Squad headquarters."
With that every Squad 10 member in the hall saluted but then suddenly the sound of several dozens of armed shinigami could be heard from outside picking up their gearing and moving out. A soft rumble could be felt through the ground as all of his shinigami he had brought with him saluted and moved back to headquarters. The situation was always well in hand should Captain Mallory have become violent upon her questioning. Jubaku, of course, always had a plan well in advance. Information and secrets were his weapons and he wielded them masterfully. He then walked back to his Lieutenant before starting to speak to her with a stern, harsh voice.
"Lieutenant Noriko!... Well said. And stay with me for the moment."
Turning back to Captain Mallory with another sincere expression, he refocused back onto the situation at hand.
"Now, again. Captain Mallory, please I beseech you. Help me to understand. I just need you to answer my questions and I will help to reveal the truth of these matters to everyone. Please..."
It was at this point that Jubaku began to bow, going as low as he could possibly be to be as respectful as possible. He needed his answers, even if that meant having to swallow his pride a little. This was what was demanded of him in his position.

With the speculation of Nanashi and her being lovers, Mai's eyebrow raised again and she nodded. She found it quite ironic that Jack was flirting with her just a few moments ago with that declaration made earlier.
With the investigation division head and his squad here himself, Mai had felt, at the very least, that she was pushed from the errand she had wished to carry out. She shuffled a bit in haori, taking out a pocket watch as Jubaku had mentioned that every second counted.
Giving it a stern look, she looked up to see that Jubaku had bowed down before Jack, with the rest of his squad leaving.
"Good call, Ju-san" she scoffed slightly, stuffing the pocket watch back into her haori. She had known that for anyone, bringing any amount of a squad to another division's grounds on investigative notion would put anyone in an intimidated state. Hence why she came by herself. She had thought it'd be best to wait it out and see what Jack had anything else to say.

╔═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Location: Division Three Training Grounds * Company: Jinsen Octus * Mood: Serious*Stamina: Full * Health: Fresh * Zanpakuto: Sealed ╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Jack nodded to the bowing Captain Jubaku as his Division cleared out. He had made a poor call and, seemed willing to do what was necessary to fix it. Jack smirked. She liked him; she liked him a lot. She just didn’t like him waltzing in her with no invitation. Then Jack considered Lieutenant Iba. She was slightly outspoken but, she was earnest in her apology. That should, and did, count for something. However Jack was under the impression that she either didn’t know the rumors concerning the Captain of Division Three or brushed them off because they couldn’t possibly be true.
Jack was going to remedy that quickly, “Lieutenant Iba I may be a slut but, I am not a liar so I will be frank with you.” Jack paused for a moment to let those words sink in, “My people are not in position to secure to area in partnership with yours. They are here to secure the area against all intruders.” Jack’s blue eyes were sharp, “Tell me Lieutenant; where you invited?” Jack then turned to her fellow Captains, “I have no idea what crime we were accused of. Something about stolen Zanpakutō from Division Ten. All I know is that evidence was found at the scene implicating both me and Yamamoto. It was quickly discovered that I was framed but, Central 46 did not pause for a moment to consider that we both had been framed.” Jack paused for a moment to consider the wisdom of say the next bit, “I think someone wanted to frame only one of us but accidently collected samples for the both of us.” Jack looked Captain Jubaku straight in the eye, “Ask your questions Captain. I will answer to the best of my ability.”
Jack really wished that Division Ten hadn’t shown up. She was doing so well flirting with Mai and, was looking forward to lulling her fellow female Captain to her bed. What could Jack say? Everybody in the Seireitei knew that Jack would flirt with someone with the express purpose of getting them to her bed. It didn’t matter their gender or their looks or their kinks or their whatever. All Jack cared about was consent; which was why she wouldn’t flirt with someone under the effects of mind altering drugs. She was a slut with morals. Did such a thing exist?

"A TRUE WARRIOR IS CALCULATING AND STRIKES WHEN IT'S NEEDED. BUT A TRUE MAN NEVER GOES DOWN FROM A BATTLE." Jinsin took place beside his captain as everything began going on. The arrival of Mai has ticked him off but he had gotten past that quickly, but since the arrival of Division 10's Captain, Jubaku, and lieutenant Iba they'd been rubbing Jinsin the wrong way. It was getting harder and harder for him to hold his tongue as he watched Division 10 parade around like they owned the place even though it was they who were the uninvited guests. Iba especially, but alas Jack was in hot water already, him opening his mouth to vent his feelings wouldn't help anything, so he chose to remain silent and instead stay by his captain's side should anything further transpire.
And transpire it did as Division 10's men closed it but Jubaku was smart enough to call them off. No one wanted a fight but Jinsin would not hesitate should one have erupted. Then as Jack began once again addressing them, telling the same story of framing he'd heard three times in the day alone, Jinsin couldn't help but stare down Iba. Such an outspoken one she was, he'd keep an eye on her he decided. There are bounds that everyone even captains had but she had seemingly forgotten hers.

Without much interest in the activity, Noriko listened as the multitude of her division members left the premises. Despite her spine straightening upon her name being called, the lieutenant's lips curled into a small smile at her Captain's words. She bowed her head to hide this from him as she lowered herself to sit on the ground at his feet. She was not find of standing and people, even small groups, made her nervous. When she was addressed by Captain Mallory, the girl focused her gaze on the patterns in the hardwood floor. She did not bother to respond until the woman had said her piece. At least, she was giving them some level of co-operation now. It comes down to feeling comfortable. As for the question, Noriko closed her eyes before stating her response. "Your sexual activity has nothing to do with me. I don't care. Fine, they're not here to help us, but I still think that your manpower is misplaced." Her eyelids parted as she continued, "Wherever my Captain is, I shall be at his side. You do not have to worry about my invitation." With that, she closed her eyes once more, waiting for her Captain to begin his interrogation officially. Boredom was sneaking it's way into her overall view of the situation. Jubaku swiftly nodded his head in agreement as Jack invited him to ask his questions. Ignoring the scoffs and stern looks from both Jack's own Lieutenant and Captain Kimura, he slowly stepped forward to come face to face with Jack. He seemingly chose to ignore Jack's quip about being a slut because she didn't have to tell him anything. From his information network, he knew how... explicit Jack could get behind her Red Room door. It was enough to make anyone unseasoned in such things blush. As he proceeded to walk forward, he seemingly noticed out of the corner of his eye that Jack's Lieutenant was now sternly staring down his own, an act that he did not take lightly, but he knew that his Lieutenant could more than take care of herself in this situation. As he stopped finally, he came face to face with Jack, standing no more than a foot in front of her.
"Before we begin, I would like to say one thing: I apologize for the scene earlier, but I needed to provoke a reaction out of you. If your reaction was genuine, I would know I could trust you. If it wasn't, you would have simply continued your facade while you protected your friend. Most people do and should feel genuinely angry when they have to talk to me or my squad. I needed to know for sure that you wouldn't lie to me to protect her. I do trust you Captain Mallory. Do you have somewhere quiet we could go for this interview?"
He shifted and reached his arms into his sleeves once again, taking a few seconds as he seemingly searched for something. After a few seconds or so of seemingly no movement, Jubaku pulled out a small, silver box with what looked like buttons on it. He then held it out for Jack to see and examine at her leisure. He wanted her to trust him, he needed the trust if was to ever find out the truth behind the foul events that have been set in motion.
"I will be recording this interview for the archives later. Do you have a problem with that?"

Jack laughed, “Ask your questions Captain. You are right. We do not have much time to waste. You can ask them here.” Jack waved her men away, “There! Just Captains and Officers. I hope that meets with your satisfaction.”
Jack was not moving. She hoped that once this interview was over that she and Jinsin could get back to training. She hated interruptions and was trying to minimize them. She eyed her three guests. It was too bad that none of them would want to sleep with her later. That depressed her greatly. She had just received news that her closest friend had finally passed. "A TRUE WARRIOR IS CALCULATING AND STRIKES WHEN IT'S NEEDED. BUT A TRUE MAN NEVER GOES DOWN FROM A BATTLE." Jinsin held his ground by Jack. Jubaku wished to speak to her alone, but Jinsin wasn't going to leave her side. However Jack had decided she wasn't going to leave with him either, a relief in Jinsin's mind. Just then a hell butterfly appeared. It made it's way to Jack and immediately Jinsin could see a change in Jack's face. She turned to Jack and informed him long time Lieutenant Bazyli had passed and that Jinsin would be taking over. She ended it with congratulations, but Jinsin knew how bad it hurt. She had called him here in the first place to train him just in case, but they had both hoped he made a recovery. The position meant a lot to him but he didn't want it at the cost of another's life.
He watched as Jack then turned to the others and put back on her smile. He'd learned to see through it a long time ago. There was also underlying pain in her voice, something else she'd learned to cover well but Jinsin through time had learned to hear through. Right now there were other matters at hand, but he wondered after just how she'd deal with this loss.

Jubaku watched silently with stoic look on his face as the majority of Jack's squad members retreated back to whence they came. This was satisfying to Jubaku as it was a clear demonstration that he had finally truly earned her trust. He smiled and then paused as a hell butterfly flew in informing Jack of the passing of her former lieutenant. Jubaku's smile suddenly disappeared as he heard what she had then told to her now new lieutenant. He shifted forward and took a few steps towards Jack to be within recording distance of her.
"Before we begin, please. My condolences for your loss. As I realize this must be a very trying time for you I will do my best to be as expeditious as possible. Now.. let us begin. Silence please."
Jubaku then seemingly pressed the button on his recording device.
"This is Captain Jubaku Hogosho conducting an interview for case file #2,357 to be filed under Index A, Subsection 1. Now please state for the records your name and relationship to the previous Captain, one Nanashi Yamamoto."OOC: These questions will be very "rapid fire", so we can get to the end as soon as possible and get the the interesting event that I have planned.

The Archer of Death did not do romance. When people became romantically attached to her Jack did her best to politely turn them down. She was one hell of a lover when it came to sex but, when it came to actually lover Jack would be the first to say that she was defective in that area. She didn’t know how to love and, wouldn’t hurt anyone by tying. The closest she had come to love was with Sephiroph and that relationship was definitely one of a kind. Jack didn’t let her emotion at her loss show as she waited for the next question. She was very good at showing the world a cheerful demeanor. Jubaku nodded at her answer and held the recorder ever closer to her trying to not make any unnecessary noise except for his asking of questions. He then made up his list of proceeding questions to ask Jack as so to not waste too much of her time. Jubaku always thought it was good to have a plan or three well in advance to take care of any unwanted or unnecessary factors that might come about."Now, where were you during the time of the alleged incident that you were accused of during your trial with the Central 46?" Jubaku knew of the attempt to steal Zanpakuto from the Squad grounds. He had thoroughly reviewed the tapes of the trial and said incident involving Nanashi. It was better to hear the answers from the horse's mouth as it were. Having Jack's testimony would be invaluable in piecing together the rest of the puzzle that shrouded this incident with Nanashi. He was the only one in the position to either prove her innocence or verify her guilt.
