Okay. Maybe it had been a good idea to be friendly. At least he had replied, instead of giving him a dark look and trying to kill him-- why was he even having these thoughts? Erebus' hands were shaking, and even as he clasped them behind his back, the tremors seemed to spread to every inch of his body. Were his teeth chattering too? Why couldn't he calm down?!
..........."Eep." Oh Jack dammit Hades help him, the Hunter had a knife!
In normal circumstances, he would have tried to calm the other down with gentle words. He was no threat to them; Erebus was no fighter, and only wished to make friends, but for some reason, the sight of the sharp glint of the dagger spooked him enough. "D-don't hurt me!"
He ran.

" Drink the water of four four and then you may enter." The writing became words read out in his mind. " If you do not drink, you will perish.'" The words below it read in his mind then. "Oh a challenge~ Let's try the yellow one." He drank from the pool but it didn't taste like lemon sour just tasteless like water. "Nothing happened. Well, let's try another one." "NOPE. AJ! Your hair! They are suddenly so short." The boil fiddled at his back but couldn't catch his long ponytail. "Hm? That's interesting. I guess it took away some of my age. Haha." If coupled with the pool of age, it resets your age and then subtracts it by three. If you hit 1 year somehow, you stay at that.

A sip from the pool of red, and she found herself back to her older self. Edel wondered, if she had made the same mistake again of growing up too fast, as she did during her time in Amityville. She wished that her younger self had found more joy, made more friends, and perhaps, experienced more love.
The frost demon wandered over to the other pools she had not drunk of yet. There was danger to be faced, she knew, but this too was merely a trial.

Bravely, she drew from the pool of blue and took a sip. All feelings of bravery were now lost. She could hear her heart starting to pound, her limbs starting to freeze. Edel knew that this was Fear she was experiencing. It was not new, but it never did get old.
Her eyes darted anxiously around her, startling at the shadows and the knowledge that there were others around.
Quickly, her mind willed herself along. From one last pool she had to drink, and it would be over soon.

[ Roll 4 || 2: POOL OF AGE ]He hadn't heard Cee before, and he didn't see her now: just saw the monster roar something at him, saw it twist in place and take off toward a door in the distance. He took two steps after it and then whirled at the sound of something like his name. Another monster at another pool: he took a step that way, wobbled, and spun again. // I shouldn't be the sane one //. The voice was a sibilant hissing in his ear, like this, and Ever didn't have the wits to realize it was Amory. His weapon spoke more, but the words turned to gibberish, except for one: // Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink. // It went on and on, fading in and out, and he'd reel in place a few more times before settling at another pool. Weapon set at the edge, he took a shaky sip, the voice driving him to do so. It didn't send away the fear, or the panic, but it did age him: fine lines returning to his face, experience settling back into his memory. It steeled his spine some, against the sensations. And he remembered, all at once, why he'd been doing this. Drink the water. Go through the door. Kill the monsters. Erebus had gone that way. And without even noticing Cee, he'd follow, steps wobbly, shaky, and uncertain. iloveyoudie crazy hunters are crazy, he's heading out!

Quickly, she urged herself. A shaking hand dipped the bowl into the pool of purple, bringing it to her lips where she drank. The world started to spin, her vision distorting. The bowl of ice was dropped and it shattered on the ground, and the ghoul betrayed a small scream.
The door.
Tripping on her steps, the frost demon made her way to the door and pushed. The columns started to rumble, and she could see them falling, falling, falling...
The door opened, and the ghoul stumbled out.

[ POOL 2 - POOL OF AGE ]
Cee felt like she was a child again, not physically, but because she'd never been afraid like this since she'd first seen shadows as a young girl. When she'd cling to her covers and grip on her teddy bear and her parents told her it was nothing and she was just young and it would pass. When she realized that praying to jesus wasn't going to do anything about it. Before she'd decided to try and so something about it herself.
She gripped onto one of the pillars, moving from the room to find another when Ever ran past her looking young? His knife was out and he was chasing someone with dog ears. DOG EARS?
"MONSTERRRSSS!!!!!" She screamed, a blood curdling cry that echoed through the hall, and ran for another doorway.
She found herself beside a red pool now but her hand was shaking as she scooped the water out of necessity. She didn't feel much of anything really though when she looked into the water at her reflection she seemed... older. Thankfully she aged well.

The yellow pool seemed like it would be a good choice to go for next. Certainly the bright colour in contrast to the lavender one that he drank from earlier would hint at its waters giving rise to an effect that could possibly counteract his current half asleep self. Yves rationalised with himself, shuffling over and wasting no time in helping himself to some of the water from said pool.
He took a sip then another then simply waited for something to happen in him. Nothing. He gave an irate growl when he realised that he had assumed wrong and what he had just drank was doing absolutely nothing in relieving him of the effect from the previous pool. He had half a mind to strip here and take a soak in the pools to see if that would result in his rebirth. Might as well save himself the trouble of ascending the tower in order to reach where Medea currently was.
He blinked at that particular chain of thought. He did not just contemplate all of that crazy now, did he?

Noemi clenched Melusine tight to her chest, the trident acting as a barrier and source of comfort as she was ushered into the tower. She had lost Shu, Milo and Cee in the hustle of hunters and had ended up wandering around alone and lost.
But...But she was a big girl and she could handle anything that came her way if she needed.
Mel's voice soothed, washing over the girl. Noemi nodded, remembering that she wasn't really alone even when she thought she was.
She stopped in front of such pool of water, bending down to look at it's surface. It had it's own calming allure calling out to her, relaxing her. She reached her hand in, cupping the water and bringing it up to her mouth for a sip, tipping her hand back until all the water was gone.
At first, as she stood to move to another pool, she didn't feel any different. But the effects slowly came too and she felt like a cloud. Drifting to the next pool. Shapes became blurry and soft and she brought her hand up to stifle a yawn.
"So...sleepy." Noemi said.

Not seeing any initial change, Cee sipped from the pool again. This time her face seemed to get slightly older. This didn't mesh well with the already suffocating fear she was feeling. She grabbed her face and screamed again.

Her limbs felt heavy, tired. Maybe she should take a nap here.
Mel went from being a trident clenched to her chest, to the only support keeping her up, using it as a walking stick of sorts. She didn't have to walk far to get to the second pool, sliding down the trident to hit the floor hard. She dipped her hand in roughly, ripples quivering over the top and brought the new pool's water to drink again.
Again it took a minute for the effect to settle in, but once they had, she knew this feeling...and she knew it well. Fear. Why was she doing this? This was scary! She was in a tower facing creatures of their worse nightmares and....
The room spun as the scenary shifted, everything became bright, vibrant. The light hurt her eyes. Oh god....She could feel the fear rushing through her veins, through her blood, through her head. Her heart...her heart was too loud, they'd hear it.
She couldn't hear Mel anymore, holding the trident out and swinging it back and forth.
"Stop, Stop stop." The color started to change into little beings, ones she couldn't describe, taunting her. She made a small scream in her throat before turning to run.

You arrive at what looks like an expansive palace coloured in ornate pools. Each one reflects a different facet of colour, though the entire palace is extravagant and detailed. In the center of each pool is a statue of varying shape and size. There is flora rampant around the edges of the pool, giving it a forbidden garden look. The columns that support the room are gilded in gold and ornate marble carvings, displaying the wealth of the gods. At the center of the palace there is sealed door surrounded by two stone pillars. There are words engraved in it that are not in any language you know, but as you stare at it, they suddenly become clear. 'Drink the water of four four and then you may enter'. The gods are cruel however, and below it are four other words. ' If you do not drink, you will perish.' "Drink the water of four four and then you may enter. If you do not drink, you will perish," Uru mused as he looked to the engraving, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket. Huffing, he turned to go through the first of the pools and looked down to it. With one hand, he cupped the liquid into his maw. Suddenly, his eyes shot open in their solid gold and blue. Glaring at his hands, he noticed right away that they were not as big... well, obviously because his jacket was hanging off of those twigs he called arms. Uru let out an exasperated growl, hanging his head back because of course this'd happen. Something like this always happens! Shrugging off his jacket, tying around his neck, he huffed at himself. He was small, he was thirteen again before he hit his growth spurt, before he put on all those pounds of muscle, he was lean, fit, but lean. He better keep his oversized pants and shirt on because this is gonna be ridiculous. Pools: [ youth]

Cee was scared of her own reflection, her face aging right in front of her. What if it kept going? WHAT WOULD SHE DO?
The young woman fled the pool to another and threw herself down to gulp the green liquid. She gasped for breath, once more touching her face. Thankfully it soon seemed to tighten and narrow, returning almost perfectly to normal.
"Oh thank god.. thank ******** god.."

Uru knelt before another pool that sat between two pools; one blue, the other red, and thus the pool before him was a shade of violet. Cupping both hands into the water, he raised it to his waiting lips. As soon as the water was swallowed, the effect was immediate as was his regret. His head became airy, his eyes heavy, his vision blurred. Crap. he mentally murmured. He knew this sensation; he went through it everyday and he hated it. His sister had once said that he had dysania, but it was just the times he did not get his coffee fixes in the morning. There was no coffee here and his thirteen year old body probably would not handle it all that well either. Struggling to his feet, he needed to find a way to stop this... that was if he was able to see where he was going. Ugh. Pools: [ youth] [ Sleep]

This looks right... This pool looks right. Instead of cupping water like before, this time he dunked his head into the water and drank. Pulling his head up, he felt a sensation that ran down his back. Looking over his shoulder with a hazy gaze he understood what it was. It was his jacket that had became larger and slid off his small - smaller back. SMALLER!? "Whaaaaa-" he mumbled as he fell to his side. He was younger again! How many years does he have left if he kept drinking from this damn pool!? ... It was at this age that he lost his father... It was this time in his life that he had enjoyed life, been happy to be home and outside, it was this time in his life that he actually smiled. Uru growled at the memory that sounded more like a mewl. "Why..." Pools: [ youth] [ Sleep]
