Gaddok smirked and got up from the fire, 'Charitable and Beautiful~' He mused to himself as he returned to his shovel, "Well, with a cause so noble I had best get back to it... Would hate for all them folks to not get their starter tableware." It wasn't what he wanted to say, but getting up and getting back to work was a good way to remind himself why he was out here... in the forest... with an attractive young woman. Barely getting his footing and already his hands were sweating too much to get a good hold on the shovel. Chi have mercy this was going to be difficult.

"It's getting pretty late. I'll probably get a few more shovels full in and then turn in... You should get some rest. Best to be at your best to navigate us out of this tangled mess of trees." He chuckled at the thought of navigating by landmarks... must take some focus; what happens if you miss one?

With the mention of getting back to work Sathe looked down at her second bowl, still mostly untouched and getting cold. She hated wasting food, but she could feel her stomach protesting any more. She hadn't realized it, but she was getting sleepy; she could feel her limbs getting heavier the longer she sat so she set the bowl to the side of the fire. "Are you sure? I can stay up with you." She ended her sentence with an involuntary yawn and then a sheepish smile. Maybe she should just get some sleep. She had no doubt that Gaddok was capable of deciding whether he could stay up alone or not.

"You don't have to keep going if you're tired you know. It will still be there tomorrow, I promise." She joked, standing from her spot and moving to the tree with the hammock. "I would almost feel better if you didn't keep going while I slept. It makes me feel lazy." She lifted herself into the tree and onto the hammock. It was cozy, and was just her size. She thought about a hammock built for two for just a split second before feeling a blush coming on. That wouldn't do. She turned her attention back to Gaddok, yawning once more and rubbing her eyes as if that would rub away the thoughts she shouldn't have.

Giving a soft smile Gaddok stuck the shovel into the muck, "Its fine, really. Just a bit more and I'll be putting the flame out and crawling into my knapsack. You should get some rest."

Waiting until she crawled into bed to continue, shoveled a bit more. After he felt satisfied with his progress he returned to the campfire to polish off the soup left by Sathe, then splashed some water in the bowl to wash it out and returned it to the bag. staring into the flame he found himself struck with insomnia as the most beautiful woman he had laid eyes on slept just feet above his head.

Realizing he said he would sleep after a few shovel fulls he tried laying down, tried closing his eyes, tried to still his mind and be peaceful... but alas nothing seemed to be working, so he returned to the shovel.

Hours into his work and long after the fire turned to nothing but dulling embers he felt his body giving out, his mind slowing, his eyes getting heavy and the wagon full. Had he not worked himself to exhaustion he would have certainly thought about what Sathe had said and how horrible she may feel in the morning, but what was a man to do? he couldn't sleep and well... shoveling, though labor intensive, was a welcome distraction to the goddess like creature dangling just out of his reach.

Crawling into the his knapsack, Gaddok buried his face and fell into a deep hard sleep.

Sathe felt herself beginning to wake and rolled slightly to her side before remembering how far off the ground she was. She jerked her hand into the air as if to balance herself before letting it flop lazily onto her forehead. Right, she was in Jauhar.

It was still dark on the forest floor, as it usually was, but she felt rested enough. It was always hard to tell what time it was in Jauhar; she could have been sleeping for a few minutes or a few hours, she had no idea which. She peaked to the floor and saw the shape of Gaddok's body in the dim lighting. It looked like he was still sleeping, but she had no way to be sure. Pulling herself up and out of the hammock she stopped short when she saw the cart. It was totally full. It didn't look like it could hold any more clay at all, and the sight of it had her a little guilty. Had he stayed up all night? She bit down on her lip and furrowed her brow. He didn't have to do all that.

Sathe inched closer to Gaddok, waiting to see if he would wake soon or if she should leave him be. All that work would have had to take hours still after she had fallen asleep.

Gaddok laid so still it was questionable as to whether he was even breathing or not. He was exhausted still, but as Sathe began shuffling closer he suddenly burst into motion. Flailing his limbs in a flurry as his knapsack sprung open, freeing him from its grasp, "Ah~! Wha- huh!?" he shouted groggily then turned to see the faint outline of Sathe standing before him, "Oh, umm... Good Morning~ I think?"

Chuckling he rose to his feet and crammed his knapsack into a tight roll and tied it to his pack, "I-uh... Couldn't sleep last night... Figured I might as well be of use. I'm contracted to get you clay anyway... best I keep at it." He was backpedaling hoping she wasn't upset then murmured nervously, "You're not upset are you?"

To nervous to wait for an answer he strapped on his pack and went for the wagon handle, "Best be getting this back to your house, eh? Don't want any menzuri thinking we're a snack now."

Sathe giggled at the flailing and backpedaling of Gaddok in front of her. Was she upset? What a silly question. She didn't think that she even could be upset with Gaddok, even after only knowing him a day she knew there was something about him that she couldn't get enough of.

She returned from her thoughts with a brisk shake of her head. "Of course I'm not upset... I guess I just wish that you could have gotten more rest. You must have been up for hours." Sathe gathered what little she had brought with her while speaking, more than agreeing that they should probably get moving and return to Tale. "You know, I can't really thank you enough for all the help that you've been."

She pulled at her braid absently, trying to remember how it was that she got in and out of here last time. She was pretty sure it was that way over there. "Should I lead the way then?"

Gaddok scrubbed his hair and breathed, "I got... Enough sleep, and Its what I was hired to do... The fact that i was able to get it done faster benefits us both." he announced with confidence, then flinched as though mentally punching himself in the stomach and he quickly spat out, "I didn't- what I meant was..." brushing a hand through his hair he growled, "Chi's breath... I just-" He breathed, "Lead the way."

Sathe shook her head with a smile. She didn't really understand Gaddok's hesitation, but he was right. A job's a job, right? Though she could feel herself not wanting to move quite so fast, not wanting to have to leave Gaddok in Tale again and go about her own business.

She picked the direction she was near sure was the way back to Tale and back to home and began the trek back. The trip home seemed to be agonizingly faster than the trip there and it wasn't long before they had reached the village again, this time clay in tow. Sathe pulled on her braid once they had managed to stop in the village square. "Do you mind pulling the cart right back to my house? It isn't that much further."

Grateful to feel the daylight gracing his skin, Gaddok tipped his head skyward and soaked it in. It had been less than a day, but it felt like ages. There was a certain chill that gripped you in the land of Jauhar, it was as humid as any other place in southern Tendaji but with the lack of sunlight it seemed like the humidity just clung to you and left you damp and chilled; being out in the open air was just what he needed.

Keeping pace with Sathe, they made good time getting back to Tale and as they arrived in Yera he slowed the cart to a hault in the square.

Watching Sathe fiddle with her hair brought a warm smile to Gaddok's face, "Of course I will," he mused as he followed her through Yera to her home. Bringing the cart around back he parked it close to what appeared to the area she prepped the clay to be worked, "This place okay?" he asked as he yanked the shovel free of the clay and set it alongside the cart.

Stepping away he looked around at her place, "This is... a lovely little home you have here." waiting as she made her way toward the clay he finished unloading the items, "So... Jobs all wrapped up." He breathed as his pack dropped from his hands hitting the ground with a thump. Gaddok's eyes drifted upward and finally met hers, "Our contract is completed."

Straightening upright he walked up to her; heart pounding in his chest. He had an inkling that she felt the same; and with that knowledge he shouldn't be as nervous as he was, but despite all that he kept his cool as best he could. Reaching for her hands he cleared his throat to say, "There's been something I've been wanting to get off my chest..." The words held more truth than she would ever know, and before she had a chance to answer him he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. Every inch of his body yurned for more. It took all the strength he had to refrain from lifting her onto the edge of the wagon, kissing her with all the passion he had buried so deep over the last day. There was something blossoming between them, and despite his best efforts to keep things professional... Well, Contract's completed right?

What seemed like seconds of internal conflict turned into a gentle longing first kiss. Gaddok lifted from her lips and nuzzled her gently, "Don't... Be a stranger, Okay?" Reluctantly he stepped back, gathered his pack and shovel, and with a gentle smile he made his way back to the inn.

They had reached her house and Gaddok rested the cart against the side of the building. The job was done, and she could feel her stomach fluttering. With the job done, he could go now. He could leave... and she might not see him again.

Gaddok started to say something and Sathe had to bring herself out of her thoughts. Out of her thoughts just in time for Gaddok's lips to press onto her own surprised mouth. She could feel the desire in the kiss, the longing from both sides, though she could have been making that up for all she knew. But the spark she felt couldn't have been just her.

He pulled away and it left Sathe wanting more. As he walked away from her she put a finger to her lips, watching him move back toward the inn. She most certainly wouldn't be a stranger, not if she could help it.
