& This is a Private RP ‘It has been a long time coming.’ Gaddok reassured himself as he stood at the edge of Yera, ‘you’ll be fine.’ Taking in a deep breath of chilly night air he coughed, “Yeah, Fine… Right,” as he stepped forward. This was the farthest west he has ever been; not even his father has traded this far west for trade. ‘Probably make more money if he did…’ Gaddok thought as he watched his feet shuffle across the earthy path.
His father was a successful businessman and Gaddok had complete faith in his business sense, but he never saw eye to eye with his father. He was constantly butting heads with the man, usually over family matters, often resulting in Gaddok leaving for extended periods of time. This would be one of those times.
Slapping a ‘Work Wanted’ poster on the trunk of a large twisted structure, a tree surprisingly, that held the sign of an inn. Intrigued by this, Gaddok stepped through the doors. It was a building with a tree intertwined with it, looking nearly like it was trying to wrestle the building to the ground. Despite the inns' fascinating appearance the inner workings were bare bones. There were a few tables, six or so booths and a bar with a couple stools. There was a burly, gruff sort of man eyeballing him from the doorway as Gaddok strode over to the bar. The barkeep approached and set a glass in front of him, “What’ll it be?”
Gaddok looked at him with a boyish smile, “A room please.”
“How long you stayin’?” He grumbled as he placed the mug under the bar and went for the keys hanging on the wall by the cashbox.
“Well, That’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” Gaddok began, “I’m in town temporarily; just looking for temp work. I have enough coin for…” He murmured to himself while riffling through his coin purse, “Maybe a day and a half, but I’m dependable and hard-working. I could help you fix up this place, maybe drum up some business… What do you say?” The hesitation was clear in the barkeeps’ eye, “what’s the worst that could happen? Just throw me out if it doesn’t work.”
~A Few Days Later~
Gaddok helped repair the chairs, stools, and tables in the dining area, as well as some night stands, and dressers in the rooms. He was useless as a cook, but had good hands for doing dishes and the height to put things away. The agreement he made with the owners has paid off for them, and people were even starting to “rediscover” the quaint inn at the edge of town.
However, Gaddok’s work wanted posters weren’t getting much attention, despite being posted in high traffic parts of the town. He’s had two minor jobs that were maybe three hours of work. The pay was minimal and has long since been spent, but Gaddok knew something was coming. He just had to stay at the inn and wait for it to arrive…kaname423 If you come up with a title before I do let me know! D: I hate coming up with titles...

Sathe had left her house what seemed like hours ago while she had scouted out in the forests for some new mess to play with. She was aching to get her fingers into something, and she had enough energy to be at it for a while. Her biggest issue, as sad as it was, was that she couldn't really haul it all out herself. She couldn't work on sight, not in Tale at least, there wasn't enough water for her to use any clay she found. It all had to be hauled to her, and while normally she would beg her dad to go out, with the upcoming war there just wasn't enough of his time to go around. Sathe swore up and down that no matter how good his intentions were, he was too old to be fighting in a war. But that wouldn't stop him.
Now she was back in town, and had spotted something that looked promising, but for the life of her wasn't finding anyone to help. But she knew something was coming, and if she just looked hard enough and had enough patience, she would be rewarded.
It almost hit her like a brick to the face it was so clear. Sathe looked up at the poster she had found plastered onto a nearby tree. Well, there you go! Someone who was looking for something to do! Sathe nearly jumped in place at the news, letting out a ridiculous squeal before settling down, now realizing that there were people watching. She took a breath and approached the closest person to her. "Excuse me sir, do you know where I can find the owner of these posters?" After a little bit of prodding, she finally found her way to the inn and braced herself for what she was sure would be wonderful news ahead of her.
She stepped into the slightly cooler air of the inn, the fans spinning slowly with the light breeze and looked around, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the change in light, clutching the poster she had ripped off the tree to her chest.

Gaddok had just finished cleaning out the last mug and placing it on its shelf, as he began wiping down the bar he looked up; there she stood in the light of the open door. It may have only been for a second, but it was forever seared into Gaddoks’ mind. The light danced on her skin catching her crystals and sending the fragmented light shattering rainbows around the room. Her hair floated on the gust of the opening door, pale silver eyes scanning the room.
He held his gaze, held the memory, got lost in the moment, and then felt oddly uncomfortable with the pair of piercing silver eyes looking up at him from the bar. He stared down at her, his glazed over stare melted into an awkward smile, “Hi there,” Gaddok began as he shifted from leaning to standing up and wiped the smudge from his arm, “I- See you have my poster there…” finally rebounding from his daydream, Gaddok put on his most suave smile, “Is there something I can help you with, Miss-” He paused in wait of a name with his hand outstretched for a shake.

Sathe scanned the room before her eyes fell on the boy behind the bar. He seemed to be around her age, though maybe a couple of years older - he already had a little bit of stubble and a pronounced chin - and she beamed out at him, closing the gap between them.
She grabbed a hold of his rather rough hand and shook it with enthusiasm. "Sathe." She piped up. "And I was hoping that there was. Are you still looking for work?" Sathe held onto the guy's hand a little longer than she thought she should have, a little overwhelmed with his looks and demeanor. He sure was cute, that was for sure. Sathe wasn't the type to gush, but something about him had her chest feeling just a little tighter. Just as she thought, today was a good day.
"And your name is...?" Sathe asked, still trying to get herself under control. She came here for a purpose, and he could help, it shouldn't make any difference that he also happened to be cuter than most hired help.

Despite the fact she took her hand back, he could still feel her warmth of her delicate fingers. Even now she was all he could think about. He had been around women his age in the past, even had fleeting emotional encounters, but nothing serious, and in all of those encounters he had never felt this way. Gaddok was baffled by how instantly infatuated he had become with her and he had only just learned her name.
Name...
Gaddok came back to with a smile, "Gaddok," he replied simply, "Yeah, I've been looking for work, but it’s been surprisingly scarce." He gestured to a stool, "Though I am hoping my luck is changing. Care to take a seat, Sathe, and tell me what it is that brings you to the Warped Wood Inn to find me?"

Gaddok. It was a cute name to go along with the cute face. Or at least that's about the only thing she could think while the man was talking. She accepted his offer to take a seat and leaned in towards him once comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as it would get on a stool. She almost preferred the ground.
She liked the feel of his calloused hands and almost wished she had an excuse to hold them some more. Though she would have to keep her hands to herself, there was work to do and she didn't even know the guy. Honestly, she didn't really know where that came from, but she couldn't shake the feeling of his warm large hands. She coughed lightly to clear her throat. "I'm hoping your luck is changing too." She laughed out before getting to the more serious end of this meeting. She put the flyer she held onto the table they were sitting at. "See. I'm looking for someone who can help with a little... heavy lifting?" It was probably good to start with the general and work into the specifics. "I can compensate of course." She added quickly. She wanted to make it known right off the bat that she wasn't looking for a hand out. That's not how this worked, right?

Gaddok couldn't help but chuckle at her attempt at serious business manor. He could manage some heavy lifting, but honestly, despite the fact he needed coin he could care less if he was paid for this job. "Some heavy lifting, huh?" Gaddok placed a hand on his hip while tossing the towel across his shoulder, "Just what will I be lifting?" he did his best to keep a straight face, but the smirk shown through.
He was curious what lied beneath her delicately worded description. What could a lass like her need with some heavy lifting? She was too young to have a home of her own which she would need furniture moved, or some sort of landscaping assistance. Tale was a new place, maybe they had some interesting hobbies here too; Rock throwing?

Sathe let out a small sigh in relief. She had him interested at least. That was good. Alright, this was getting better then. Cute boy, interested in working for her. Now all she had to do was let him in on the job. "Mhm... heavy lifting. See... I need dirt. Well, not dirt, but clay specifically. And a lot of it." She moved the hair out of her face and huffed. "Usually I can find spots nearby and get what I need home by myself. But it's been so dry lately that I can't get anything from around here to cooperate."
She crossed her arms. "It's just such a bother when I can't get anything done around here. And-" She held up her arms and feigned a flex, "- I'm not exactly the right kind of person to be moving large amounts of earth." She laughed out. "I was hoping you would be able to maybe get me a cart-full from Jauhar?" She was more than willing to renegotiate any part of this, even if he didn't want to go all the way out to Jauhar.

Gaddok stretched his hand back behind his head and mulled over what was being asked of him. Of all the things to dig it had to be clay, didn't it; a dense soil that will suction onto anything you stick into it. Then she mentioned traveling to Jauhar. As thrilled as he was to be approached for employment, especially by such a fine young lady, Jauhar was completely foreign to him; though one day he would love to go there.
"Tell you what," he began while rubbing his scruffy chin as he thought about what to say, "I have a map upstairs... Since I'm unfamiliar with the area, you circle me a few spots where I can get you some clay, and I will get it done."
He made his way around the side of the bar, "My room's just up the stairs to the right. I'll be back in a moment." he took the steps three at a time, and was back down to the bar before long with a book bound in leather. Undoing the leather ties, Gaddok flipped to the back of the book and sifted through some papers tucked in the fold. Finding what he was looking for, he closed and retied the book.
"Wouldn't be able to do much travel without this," he unfolded the map and pulled a pencil from his satchel, "Alright then, Ready when you are."

Sathe waited while Gaddok disappeared out of view. Blowing a piece of hair out of her eyes, she looked around the inn a couple times over, noticing the dust filtering in through the shards of light leaning back in her seat, waiting. This was going well: it was nearly the only thought that continued to play on repeat in her mind. Though it was randomly interrupted with thoughts of this boy's eyes. They were a lovely green...
Sathe shook her head as if trying to get the thought out when Gaddok came back. He was fast, that was for sure. Sathe smiled to her new friend and leaned onto her elbows, ready when he was to get started. "Okay! Good. Ummm..." She looked over the map and focused in on the Jauhar area. She didn't usually use a map when she went hunting for clay. Or for anything really. She tried to make any sort of sense for it, trying to feel what was about the right spot before pointing her finger down. "Um... here? I think. Or maybe here." She moved her finger sheepishly to the right. "Yeah... This looks about right. There are more spots around there... or at least there should be." Her face turned red with embarrassment at not being able to use a map. "Maybe I should come with you?"
She wasn't all too sure with her points on the map, but she knew the way there by heart. But she would understand if Gaddok didn't want her to go with. She would probably be a drag and no help at all besides with the direction.

Gaddok was hanging on her every word, marking where she pointed and making notes as he went; with a smirk at her each bout of indecisiveness. Sathe looked adorable when she got flustered, and he just happened to be looking into her eyes when the words came.
“Maybe I should come with you?”
They were timid words, and though he thought he was going to puke out his heart for how hard it leapt into his chest, He was worried that her… presence might distract him. His mouth hung open in thought, which he quickly pushed closed as he rubbed the scruff from his face to chin and then tucked his hand behind his head, “Umm… That… Could work.”
His words were a bit unsure, so clearing his throat; he sat up straight, “I don’t normally do this, but…” Gaddok tucked the pencil behind his ear, “would you happen to have a wagon or some sort of method of transporting this earth back to your abode?” Being so far from home he had limited supplies, and whatever he needed and wasn’t provided he had to come up with on the spot. Granted he could most likely come up with something when he sees what he’s up against at this clay pit, but if something were provided it would definitely be easier.
“You know we’ll most likely be out there for quite a while.” He folded his map and slipped it in his pants pocket, “It will most likely get a bit messy, working with clay and all. You should probably slip into something you don’t mind getting dirty.” Gaddok moved across the inn, holding the door for her to exit.
“Art! I’m stepping out on a job… I’m borrowing your shovel too. Be back tonight.” He called to the Innkeep back in the kitchen.
Paola peeked around the corner and waved to gaddok as they left, “Be careful dear! You kids have fun~!”

Sathe grinned up to Gaddok. Well that settled it now, didn't it? Sathe was going to Jauhar. With this cute boy to boot. She had to force her smile down, chewing on her lip to get it to go away completely. She hoped more so that he would think that she was thinking of something to move the clay, but really she was just focused on not looking like an idiot.
She stood up from her seat, ready with an idea. "Well, I think my sister should have a cart that will work." She rolled her wrists before tugging on them in a stretch, though as he spoke her face seemed to be more than a little confused. "Don't mind...?" She looked down at her clothes before realizing what it was he was saying. "Oh. Yeah! I don't actually own any clothes that I mind getting dirty. I practically live in the dirt." She laughed out.
She followed him out the door and pointed in the general direction of Aminah's garden. "Aminah's house is almost right on the way to Jauhar. Do you need to grab anything before we go?" She smiled to Gaddok, ready to get this show on the road.

Gaddok thought for a moment then nodded, “I think I will grab something quick,” He opened the door only to be met with Paola’s smiling face.
“You need your pack, Dear?” She asked sweetly, offering the pre-packed travel bag Gaddok usually towed with him on his adventures.
He hoisted his pack onto his shoulders and smiled, “I was just coming in for that… Never know what you’ll need right? Better to just be prepared for everything.” Never know, he may be able to drag out this project into an all-day kind of job.
“You two be safe now~” She chimed before bustling back behind the bar, to the kitchen.
Gaddok walked around the side of the inn and grabbed the shovel. Returning to Sathe’s side he held out his hand for her to proceed, “So Aminah is your sister then?” He believed he got that right from what she said.

Sathe nodded her head. "You got it." She winked. "Older sister, by a few years. You might have heard of her gardens around here." She smiled broadly to Gaddok. She was more than a little proud about her sister's garden, though it had seen better days before the fire. She was still getting it back together.
Sathe took the initiative to lead the way, nearly bouncing as she went. Her small body was building with excitement at the idea of this adventure with Gaddok. She would constantly look back, checking to see if he was still there, and stealing looks at the rest of him on the way. When they finally reached Aminah's home, she knocked on the door, but without getting an answer she opened and entered, returning just a few seconds later. "She's out on a trip right now. Looks like we'll just grab it and go." She motioned for him to follow and lead him around to the back where the garden was. "It should be around here somewhere."

Gaddok was impressed by the amount of work put into the gardens, though he couldn't say he had ever heard of Aminah or Aminah's gardens. Considering it was his first time venturing this far away from Sauti, it didn't exactly surprise him. He was under the assumption that she was a local grower, of course.
It was miraculous that she could leave gardens like this do to traveling... His mother had gardens half this size and she was out in them for hours a day, weeding, pruning the plants, watering. She might have a stroke if she needed to leave for more than a day. Of course, Sauti wasn't nearly as humid, the soil isn't so great. It's a wonder it takes so much to grow there; especially the plants she grows. His mother had a naturally gifted green thumb; she could take a twig and grow a tree.
Coming around the side of the house just behind Sathe, he pointed to a wooden cart parked just behind the house, “That… Could work. Assuming your sister doesn’t mind me unloading it first.” The cart’s contents consisted of some left over dirt, gardening tools and the likes. It wouldn’t be too hard to unload, and he would certainly put everything back once the job was finished.
