Arri laughed quietly, and smiled at her. "Honey, I'm just fine. It's the tail end of a chest-cold, and I'm already taking medication for it. You see, I'm not from here, and I haven't quite yet built up an immunity to your little bugs yet. I'm just fine."
"Dad, she's right. You should rest..." Sebastian said, giving his father the 'I think I know what I'm talking about' eyes. The look that passed between father and son was almost audible, and priceless. Seb was worried for him, and Arri didn't think there was any cause for concern.
"Oh, Alison. You said you're about to try and teach Sebby how to swim, hmm?"
"Daaaaaad..." Sebastian inwardly winced at the nickname. "Not in front of Alison..."
The man laughed a bit. "Alright. You said you were going to teach Sebastian how to swim? I'd like to pay you for that. How does fifty per session sound? It's not as much as a professional gets... but we can negotiate on the price if you feel it's unfair. I won't make you go through all that work for nothing."

"If you insist. But still I cannot help but worry." Since her brother the slightest sneeze worried her. She knew her brother didn't catch a common cold. Her brother got infected by the nightmare virus. It was totally different and she was sure that her brother suffered more than anyone who had a common cold. But she wasn't going to go there. Sick was sick.
Alison grinned. Sebby was a cute nickname. But noticing that it was an embarrassing thing she didn't dwell on it. Still she thought a nickname was cute. She herself didn't have one.
"Sir I don't need to be payed to teach him. And if anything you taking me on this trip is payment enough." Alison would not feel right taking money to teach someone after not getting anything at all for teaching someone else. She was wanting to teach him. "I want to go through the work." She squeaked. There were reasons she wanted to teach him. One was she looked forward to being close to him. It was about spending time with him.

Arri nodded a bit as she explained, then widely grinned. "If you say so. But he can be hard to teach." He chuckled, and then pushed off the wall, and walked into the room, putting a few dollars down on Sebastian's desk. "Here you go, kiddo. Your allowance for this week."
Sebastian scrambled over to the desk, and put the money in his wallet, sticking that back into his pocket.
"Take a jacket, you two. It's going to be windy out tonight. Alison, I might have something for you.... one moment." He disappeared from the doorway to reappear a moment later with a windbreaker in black and red. "This is mine, but it should fit you alright. Bring it back in one piece, please?" He chuckled again. "And Sebastian?... Don't do anything your uncle Shane would do, okay?"
The boy flushed deep red. He remembered stories of Uncle Shane, although he'd never actually met the man.

Alison was sure that he couldn't be that hard to teach. Unless of course they distracted one another. Now that was a good possibility. In any case she liked a challenge.
She ignored the exchange of money. That was not her business.
At the mention of Arri having something for her she held her breath. She wasn't sure what he was going after. When he returned with a coat she was relieved. "Thank you," she smiled. She went ahead and slid it over her shoulders.
After they left she would have to inquire about this uncle. She couldn't help but wonder if he was anything like her uncle. Her uncle was a true romantic. There was not anything or any lengths he wouldn't go to for his wife.
She found herself blushing. She wanted to do romantic things with Sebastian. She was finally starting to put together these fluttery feelings she had felt for hours now.
"Thank you again. I think though that we need to go. We don't want to be so late that the pool closes." She grinned.

"You two be safe." Arri said, before pushing off the doorway again, and headed back out into the hall. "I'm going back to sleep. Sebastian, you have your cellphone in case you need me. If you two eat out, all I ask is that you keep the cost within reason, and... bring me something to eat too." He chuckled, and headed into a door on the other side of the hall.
Sebastian let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding, and immediately got up to snag a book from one of his shelves. It was old, but still in pretty good condition. Brown cover with a gear on the front, and a happy-face inside the gear. It was the book he'd wanted to give her.
He turned, and presented it to her, lengthwise. "Here... It's a book about the basics of robotics and AI... If you.. have any questions, you can always... erm... call me, or come over or whatever you like..."

With Arri out of the room Alison felt more at ease. That felt like a mini interrogation. She was sure that all of that would change during the trip. She was really looking forward to the trip. His dad was nice but something about that. Maye it was being caught.
She looked the book over. "Thank you." This would certainly help her be more knowledgeable about things. She looked forward to reading it and being able to talk to him about the things he liked. She tucked it into her purse. "I'm going to start reading it first thing when I get home. We don't have a phone so I'd have to come over." She actually was glad she didn't have a phone. That would mean that she would have to come over. She would be able to see Sebastian.
She stood up and brushed the wrinkles out of her dress. "Shall we?" She motioned to the door. She didn't want to hang around too much longer in case his dad came back. She wanted to spent the rest of the day with him not him and his dad. Family time and dinners could happen another time.

Sebastian smiled a bit, and nodded, going to grab his own coat from the ample closet in the room. He also snagged a pen and notebook from the desk, and put it in a backpack near the desk - which he then put his wallet in, and pulled the backpack on. He wanted to bring it to store his clothes... as well as to snag anything he could afford that might be useful.
"Umm.... Yeah, we should get going. That store you were talking about. What is it? I can't say I've ever been the real shopping district near the pool... So I'll follow your lead."
He took a brush to his hair by ducking into the bathroom real quick, and scrubbing one through it. He checked his teeth, his face, his eyes, his clothes, brushing out the wrinkles. He'd never really cared what he looked like before - but somehow, he did now.
"Okay!" he said to himself, giving himself a brief thumbs-up, taking a deep breath, and headed back out into the room to tell Alison. "Alright, I'm ready to go when you are." he said, tying his coat around his waist to keep it out of the way.

Alison felt the heat in her cheeks once more. She felt the flutters once again. She felt extremely special that he straightened himself up just for her. She wasn't entirely sure how she knew it was just for her but she knew.
"You look very nice." She hooked their arms together so that they could walk out of the house together. She was extremely giddy.
"I honestly never paid attention to the name of the store. I just saw it one day on my way to the pool."

He took a deep and shaky breath. When she hooked her arm around his, his heart skipped a couple of beats, and he felt almost giddy. He even giggled... before he clamped his mouth shut. Shifting a bit, he adjusted his grip on the straps of the backpack, and started out the door and down the stairs, out of the house.
Once they exited the house, he had no idea where to go, so he sort of let Alison steer them to wherever the store was.

"Please don't hold back your laughter. It is adorable." She leaned into him.
She lead them to the store. It was not all that far. About a ten minute walk at most. Long enough for them to teeter on the edge of comfortable due to being in good company and nervous because of the extra closeness. Alison had an unnoticeable sway about her float to the average eye. However, it could be felt from the closeness. It was something that she did without thought and thought nothing about it.
Never before had she enjoyed walking someone where as much as she had now. Sure she had, had an amazing time with Eidel but this walk with Sebastian was different. Different in a really, really good way.
Alison remembered reading something about characters feeling flutters and fondness in her romance novels. She was sure of it now that that was what she was feeling. She had put her finger on it earlier but now she was even more positive.
"Here we are," she let go of him to open the door. Even not knowing the name you could not miss it. The windows were filled with displays of manikins in swimwear.

"Oh NEAT. I never looked in this place before. Dad's not real big on water." He stopped, bowed, and held the door for Alison as they both went inside.
Once there, Seb was a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of swimsuits. Slim-fit, wide-leg, tight-fight, Speedos, patterned, plain, soft-weave, wave-shorts... All sorts of styles, colors, and fits. Not to mention brand-names.
He stood there standing and looking around, and completely didn't notice a male salesclerk come up beside the two, smiling a salesperson smile. Only, he did really look into it, and not fake. He just could have been a really good actor.
"Welcome to SplashWear! It's a bit late in the season, but indoor-swimming is popular this time of year. What can I do for you two today?"

Alison wanted to tell the salesperson that it was never to late to swim. But didn't because she was after all part mermaid. She loved water. She gave the clerk the once over. "We need a pair of swim-trunks for my boyfriend." She thought nothing about the later word she had said. After all Sebastian was Sebastian was a boy and he was a friend. She really did not think that Sebastian would look good in skintight swimwear and she also knew that she could not look at him with a straight face if he wore a speedo.
They could find her a top in a minute.

When Seb heard the word out of Alison's lips, he sort of went into a state of semi-shock. Sounds faded out for a moment, then back in, with the salesperson apparently having been talking to him for a moment or two prior.
"Hello? Sir, I'm sorry if you didn't hear me. What were you looking for in particular?"
Startled, he answered quickly. "Oh, just... anything good to swim in that isn't tight, and.. erm... nothing too skimpy. I'm a beginner..."
The salesperson chuckled, and nodded, headed over to a side of the store, bringing Sebastian along with him.
"Over here, we have the latest styles for casual swimmers. People seem to enjoy the slimming effect our Black Accent trunks have. But there's also those who seem to enjoy our Silhouette line, which aims to hug the body without being too tight around the crotch. If I might make a recommendation..."
He reached forward to pull one of the trunks off the rack. This particular pair was all black, but had a fish-scale motif in a slightly lighter gray, along with gold-and-white trim along the legs, and up the seams.
"This is our Waterscale line. Meant to look stylish, and perfect for casual swimming. It has two extra pockets for waterproof items such as watches and pens, and closes with a drawstring and snaps. They come in this color, our Goldenrod, then Red-and-Black, Pure Crimson, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Blue. They're currently on sale for 49.99, but we can take an additional ten dollars off if you join our SwimStyle Monthly club."

Alison tried not to hover to much as the salesperson did his thing. She did not know much about swimwear when it came to males. She just knew swim trunks. Neither her or her brother had to worry about covering the bottom half when it came to swimming.
Her eyes wondered from the Waterscale line samples to Sebastian. Her mind was picturing things it had no business picturing. She mentally smacked herself. She nailed her thoughts down and finally pictured him in those particular swim trunks. "If you like that style I'd say go with the blue. The blue would compliment your hair." She smiled.

"I do like this style... " Sebastian said. "I'll take this one... In blue, like she said." He turned to look at Alison. "That's okay, right? I mean, it's not too much?"
The salesperson chuckled again. "Ah, the young lady's paying for you both, I take it?"
"Y-yeah." Sebastian didn't know that it was any of the man's business who was paying for what, but he let it slide.
"Can I interest you in something too, young miss?"
While the salesperson turned his attention to Alison, Sebastian took the liberty to get a blue-lined one from the rack, and went to try it on in the dressing room in the back. He didn't take the tags off or anything.
