Still somewhat unimpressed as the commotion of the explosion cleared, The Green Lantern was surprised not to hear or see Nathaniel in the aftermath. Ian suddenly grew concerned at the fact the Sinestro Corpsman had seemed to just vanish and in his new state of perpetual exhilaration, moved forward to give pursuit. There was no way that Nathaniel was about to get away! Not a chance! So, Ian simply flew towards the last place he saw him, hoping that it would draw him out.

But things were rarely ever that easy and Ian was once again in a hitch as his progress was impeded when he flew into a large yellow brick wall. His eyes widened in panic and turning around, he already knew that there was only one place Nathaniel could be and what his intentions had been with this very wall: He had somehow got behind Ian. Angry at the Yellow Lantern's cowardice and his own apparent incompetence, Ian tried his best to lash out behind him with a quick whip of willpower. But even The Green Lantern had very little faith in the hastily put together attack, weakening his willpower and by result the attack.

He was exposed and with his back against a very, very dangerous wall..
s**t!

Well kicking him in the back wasn't necessary. Wasted effort right there when he ran into the wall in a desperate attempt to pursue him. Kid has certainly eaten a good serving size of self esteem or was being purposely reckless. Like he's gunning for Nathaniel. It may of taken slightly more time than usual for him to ascertain what his opponent was up to, but the pieces were finally coming together. Ian was acting this way because he wants to either defeat or kill him. Attacking his city would certainly do that, but not to this effect.

But when he turned to face Nathaniel, Nathaniel's wicked smile returned. In a vain attempt to hurt the Yellow Lantern, he tried to whip Nathaniel. But he easily slapped aside the feeble attack with a wave of his hand and in response made the yellow wall behind him shackle both his hands and feet, and three more around his entire body for good measure. Not one to leave an advantage untaken, Nathaniel swiftly moved in, punching Ian several times in the stomach, and these weren't soft punches either. No, Ian was going to get a good dose of what happens when you are one the receiving end of an Army man's fists. He aimed for the spleen, stomach, even kidney shots.

After a few moment of using the boy like his own gym punching bag, the Yellow Lantern grabbed Ian by the hair and basically forced him to look at him, "Look at you Ian. I was hoping for so much entertainment from you and you disappoint me. Again!"

After those curt words, the Yellow Lantern would painfully bash Ian's head against the brick wall he was shackled to. It's not an injury that would kill, but he would be seeing stars.

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright
Evie Sinclair

Fierce as a lion....

At first, Arturia thought that the demon was suicidal, running right up to Crimson Crusader’s broad chest. As expected, the Percheron stallion reared with a loud whinny, lashing out with his sharp hooves in an effort to hurt the demon. Now, Crimson Crusader was an impressive creature, even without his armor on. He was approximately 24 hands high, or eight feet tall, and weighed over a ton at 2,500 lbs. His hooves were about the size of Arturia’s head, his powerful, muscled legs coiled and ready to spring. He was strong and fast, durable and agile. He was the living, breathing incarnation of the ideal warhorse. If even one of those kicks had landed anywhere upon Akato’s body, his chest would have been crushed, skull obliterated, or limb shattered beyond repair. To get on Crimson’s bad side was a death sentence.

As such, Arturia was completely stunned by the demon’s action, and even more shocked when he suddenly dashed to the side and ran past her. She raised her sword and tried to wheel Crimson around before he could attack from behind, but by that time, the demon had already launched the chain weapon. She gasped in alarm, unable to do a thing as the chain wrapped itself around her body, pinning her non-sword arm to her side and pulling her off of her horse, who let out an air-splitting scream, audible to even the two Lanterns high above, as he felt his beloved rider slip from the saddle.

Arturia hit the ground hard, unable to move as she gasped for the breath that had been knocked from her lungs. The impact had loosened her grip on Excalibur, which lay weakly in her hand. She wasn’t bleeding, but there would definitely be some severe bruising that would develop later. At the moment, lying stunned on the ground and chest heaving, with the chain still tangled around her, she was nearly helpless.

....and free as the wind.

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Unable not to contain his dissatisfaction at the situation in which he found himself, Ian could only seem to sigh rather calmly as the manacles seemed to wrap themselves around his wrists and ankles and then three more sets of restraints materialised and wrapped themselves around his body. He knew he was in a world of hurt but the Green Lantern's bloodlust only made him snarl and resist as Nathaniel advanced on him but there was nothing that Ian could actually do but take the beating the man was giving him, he looked up towards his hands and his ring, which was free much to his surprise and winced as each of Nathaniel's shots seemed to reverberate through his body and cause him to clinch at a certain spot. Every punch with his right hand hurt a little bit more because of something protruding from his hand, something that seemed to put just that little bit more added pressure and pain into each blow and Ian eventually realised that, that odd sensation was in fact his very salvation....

Nathaniel's ring.

Thinking about the ring brought out Ian's more calm self, his gamer self, as he kept taking punches and waited for the opportune moment. What he was about to do was dangerous, not only for Nathaniel but for himself too as he was about to reveal one of his very own weaknesses but there wasn't much else he could do. Strapped to the wall with his hands above his head and unable to move under the barrage of punches that Nathaniel was raining down upon him, The Green Lantern was going to have to try and do something rather risky in order to escape, in order to free himself. However, he could not be afraid. For fear was the enemy of willpower and oddly enough it was about to take a helluva lot of willpower and genius to pull off this plan.

Everyone knew that Power Ring users, or Emotional Spectrum warriors were effectively nothing without their ring; it was their weapon slot, their armour slots, their accessory slots and in more JRPG terms, it was their ability slots too. Everything came from whatever ring they were wearing and without it they were just human... or alien... or whatever else they could be. Sure, the training one received on their Corps home world was somewhat of a stat boost and a minor level up but all in all it was all down to the ring, their imagination and their own ability to activate. So, Ian was treating Nathaniel as quite the boss character, a boss character with a weak point: His Qwardian Ring. And in a gamer kind of sense, as Ian took blow after blow, after blow; he waited patiently for the chance to stun and effectively silence his opponent.

Silence, when a character is silenced in most games, it usually takes away their means to use magical abilities. Sure, the rings abilities weren't really that magical and weren't in all that magical but you could cut them off. Quite easily in fact and as Nathaniel grabbed onto the Green Lantern's head, it would be this moment that Nathaniel would learn to regret. At first, Ian looked as though Ian just clenched his fist and made a bright glowing light come out of his ring in order to disorientate Nathaniel, in order to mask his escape but in actuality, once the shine of the ring faded, Ian would remain where he was, Nathaniel's hands still grasping a chunk of his soft brown hair but not only were the wall and shackles gone but so too was Nathaniel's armour... his helmet and likewise his ability to fly...

How!? How!? Ian could imagine Nathaniel clammering for explanations in his mind, a logical route, a practical route the way in which a soldier operates but in this case in point there just wasn't one. This was something that only a gamer would be able to think of. A Status Ailment. A Silence. One that in hindsight was rather easy to pull off.

It went like this: Lanterns no matter the colour need an appendage or part of their body that the ring must make contact with and therefore make the interface between the wearer, the ring and the central power batteries of their respective colours. Cutting off the connection at any of those points rendered the rings inert and obviously, Ian couldn't fly all the way to Korugar in order to mess with the Yellow Central Power Battery; right now he could only make do with what he had to hand or more precisely what he had to Nathaniel's hand: his ring. Now, the rings weren't too tight, they were easily removeable if you didn't get addicted to the power as Nathaniel had and had to easily slide on and off in case of a recruit's death and thus the selection process of a new recruit could begin. That being said it meant that there was without a doubt a minute gap between Nathaniel's finger and his ring, that if disrupted entirely would not only make the ring near impossible to remove begcause of how tight it was to his finger but also sever his connection with the ring and remove his powers. Nathaniel would be essentialy human again, no ring, no powers.

But even if The Green Lantern explained all that there was still one burning question: When?

Answer: The flash. The flash had been used to mask something but it wasn't there to mask Ian's escape, somewhat like a magic trick it was a distraction, a misdirection for something a lot smaller. Nathaniel had grabbed Ian's hair with his ring hand, Ian's hands were above his head, so it was easier for him to use the light to mask his construct. A construct that would breach the gap so quickly thanks to the speed with which light travelled and that was so small by design that unless actively looking for it; there was possibly no way Nathaniel would actually find it. Because this tiny construct was nothing more than a thin translucent Green film that fitted itself neatly in the gap between Nathaniel's ring and his finger...

Severing the connection and acting as an insulator. It would take a lot of willpower to maintain, it left Nathaniel at Ian's disposal though and just as the Yellow Lantern was about to fall, Ian gripped him by the scruff of the neck; now free that Nathaniel's constructs would dissipate with the ring's removal and looked deep into the former soldier's eyes as he turned him round and made him look at the destruction he was causing. Ian hoped that the influence of the ring being removed from him would make him see sense... here was to
Hope.

"LOOK AT IT!" Ian yelled into his ear "LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE! ARE YOU PROUD!? WILL SINESTRO GIVE YOU A NICE SPOT ON HIS LAP NOW!? HUH!? TELL ME!?"

Akato acted swiftly and leapt forward, stomping on the wrist of Arturia's sword arm. Grinding his heel on the joint, the Demon knelt down, placing his knee on her chest. Leaning in close, Akato took a deep whiff of her scent.

"You smell sooooo pure! Who are you, Holy Knight?" He practically purred like a starving lion that had just caught dinner. Her current position combined with Akato's rancid breath, would likely have the possibility of causing the woman to panic.

Fierce as a lion....

Arturia cried out in pain as Akato ground his heel into her wrist, making Excalibur fall from her grasp entirely. She tried to struggle, but she was short of breath and in pain from her fall, not to mention how the chain was still wrapped tightly around her body, pinning her left arm to her side, while the right was trapped under the demon's boot. She was pinned and weaponless. Even as the legendary sword's holy glow faded, so did the young knight's hope. She was completely at this demon's mercy, and that absolutely terrified her. The descendent of King Arthur had gone from collected and confident to helpless and hopeless in a matter of moments. It was a pitiful thing to see.

Arturia had known that there would be death on this day. People were going to die, whether they be Atlantean, Amazonian, hero, or villain, and at the moment, she almost wished that she was one of them. She had the awful feeling that this demon had something much, much worse than death in store for her. She shut her eyes tight and turned her head, a single tear slipping down her cheek as he purred out his question. She couldn't bring herself to answer.

....and free as the wind.

A blinding flash of light greeted Nathaniel as he was about to slam his head into the wall. At first, Nathaniel thought that Ian was trying to find a way to escape what Nathaniel thought was nigh inescapable. And then he suddenly felt....vulnerable. Looking down at his body, he realized he was back in his black T-shirt and camo jeans....well that shouldn't be the case. Where was his armor? His helmet? Where was the fuzzy feeling of limitless power flowing through his veins? And why does his ring suddenly feel a little bit tighter? It wasn't until he felt Ian's hand on the scruff of his neck that he realized....he was powerless. At the mercy of the boy he had shackled earlier. How did he do it? Yes Ian was right, at first Nathaniel was trying to find a logical way he could of done something like this. But his thoughts were interrupted by Ian first staring at him, then turning his head towards the havoc he was causing and yelling whether he was proud of this.

It seemed like time was stretched to hours, as he watched Atlanteans get slaughtered. Blood running into the sands of the beach or being washed into the sea. The smell of death was in the air. A rancid stink Nathaniel knew all too well. During his days of combat in Afghanistan. He had watched his entire platoon get killed by Taliban terrorists. Many who depended on his leadership to get them home to their families. Someone had to break the news to grieving widows and crying kids that their mommy or daddy was taken away from them. The Atlanteans were no different. Even now, there were families waiting for their son, fathers, mothers, or daughters, to return home to them. Many would never see their loved ones again.

The man that day in Afghanistan would of croaked out that he wasn't sure the sacrifice was worth it. That all this chaos, destruction, and anarchy was not worth it to appease a purple skinned alien extremist. That man however, was no longer with Nathaniel. He had been lost by the lust for power that the Qwardian Ring gave him. Tortured by the horrible things he had to endure to even be worthy of wielding it's power. Drowned by the blood and nightmares he forced on innocent people across thousand of planets, in hundreds of galaxies.

And all throughout this reflection, the reason for his current predicament came to him.

"The man you are trying to appeal to is long dead. He couldn't handle the nightmares the Sinestro Corps put their recruits through," Nathaniel answered, "Sinestro would see this battlefield as one of my greatest masterpieces. A portrait of the human psyche when all hope is lost. For example, that woman over there," he then pointed towards Arturia, who was on the ground, her assailant being Akkito, and he looked like he was about to deal the killing blow, "Look at her face. The stark terror as she looks at the moment of her life's ending. The feeling of being helpless. Of losing all will to fight. Of losing all hope of surviving past today. Don't you think it looks...beautiful?"

He then turned his head slightly towards Ian, one yellow eye glaring straight at him, "It is the same with you. You may have the will to fight, but deep down, you are unsure if you will even be able to survive today. Like that day in the slums, or even just a few seconds ago, when things start going bad for you, that small bit of lingering doubt festers and boils, and your will falters. And it is a really glorious sight when you do finally lose it. Even now, even though you hold the advantage, that bit of doubt remains. What if I am just playing weak? What if I'm already one step ahead of you? Don't deny those questions haven't gone through your head. They have already done so before."

He then turned his head back towards the fight and fidgeted with his finger, the one with his ring on it. He made it look like he was cracking his knuckles or flicking some dirt off his fingers, but in reality, he was tracking down the source of his current predicament. And he found it: a small green film fit in between his finger and the ring. Very clever, but he figured it out, "Now, if you would be so kind and remove the green film between my finger and my ring, I have a war to win," he said, once again looking straight at Ian. Ian might of attempted to save Nathaniel, but he was already too late. The eyes staring back at him were the eyes of a man who was horribly disturbed. They were the eyes of a sociopath.

"Hey, not bad Glowstick!" the voice of the woman commented from behind her visor. She had been silently observing when Nathaniel made his way into the picture. It was during those moments that Mira decided to simply take a back seat and observe, collecting various information that each of the people around her were doing. The Scarab was able to collect all of this, and figure out various means of dealing with each and every person that resided within the vicinity. It was simple for Mira with the abilities of the Scarab working alongside her at full capacity, and judging by the silence Mira took while everything had gone on, she gathered quite a bit. Moving her arm up, she began speaking, slowly and calmly.

"Listen, Glowstick, you did a good job dealing with this moron, so let me put this out here for ya. You keep him nice and still, and I'll make sure this punk never bothers anyone anymore. This world won't belong to him, it belongs to Reach. So, I'd say you and I get along here and now. I blow this b*****d's guts all over the sand here, and then I leave, and you don't worry about me for a few months or so, unless I feel like going out on the town with you for a few drinks. Sound like a good deal?" she giggled lightly, not waiting for his response, as her arm began to form the cannon that would end Nathaniel's life. It charged quickly, more quickly than what it would have normally took, as Mira was putting tons of energy in this blast, in order to make sure that the man couldn't break free, or dodge the attack. On top of this, Mira used the information she had obtained from Glowstick in order to fire a blast that, if the man were to refuse to listen to Mira, could penetrate through his defenses to allow Mira a clean kill on the one that was known as Nathaniel. With that, she fired the shot, only giving Ian nanoseconds to react should he wish to defend Nathaniel.

Placing his right hand on her throat, Akato leaned closer to her face. With his left hand, the Demon traced Arturia's jaw up and down a few times. Then he, in an almost imperceivably swift movement, raked his clawed fingertips across her cheek, painfully gashing her flesh. Knowing that dramatic pauses made the terror his victims felt multiply, Akato halted for just a second.

Then he did something viewed as so repulsive, so disgusting and vile, that Arturia might even feint. The Demon bent his head down and licked the wounds slowly, one by one, until his mouth was near the Knight's ear.

"I knew it! A Virgin Knight! You're blood is so pure.... And Innocent. He purred the last part with a demonic delight so unnerving, even The Joker would have had shivers up his spine. Licking her cheek again, Akato smiled, some blood dripping from his lips.

Suddenly, the Demon rolled sideways, taking the chain with him and ripping it so that Arturia would become untangled from it with a high speed spin. Wrapping the Manriki chain around his waist with evident skill, Akato would then draw his katana from it's sheath that was still attached diagonally across his back. The Katana was Tamashi no Sakenomi, The Drinker of Souls. This blade was as deadly as it was rare, for should it kill any metahuman or Hero, it would transfer their power and abilities to the wielder.

Stepping back to give Arturia room to regain her footing, Akato crouched and stuck his blade in the ground. He then spoke once more to her, with a deadpan, serious note.

" I will let you fight, as I wish to see what a pureblood Virgin can do when she thinks herself a Knight. Do not use that Holy Aura, or I will rip your heart from your breast and eat it while you watch, then I will defile your corpse in such a way that you will never see your Heaven and shall so spend the rest of eternity in Hell, tortured by my Brethren and myself, in the most debasing and vile ways, until Ragnorok, The End of Days. Your sword against mine, my skill to test yours. The Victor claims the other for whatever they see fit." He smiled then, knowing he'd likely unnerved her even more. Before he waited for her to act, Akato said one last thing.

"Or I can just kill you now...."

The masked male clad in red and yellow spandex merely smiled warmly as the other seemed to be suspicious of him.
"I have nothing to hide, ma'am."In an act of confidence, he pulled the upper part of his suit off, revealing a set of brown hair and green eyes with a few traces of freckles here and there on his cheeks; one of the few trademarks of the Allen family, though in his case, his idea of their trademarks. He took the time to dye his hair every now and then and literally find ways to cause his face to have freckles. There was probably the Plastomorph that Eobard used for his own face, but Thaddeus wanted nothing to do with that man or any other "Flash" for that matter. That meant, he went a much painful route in getting that feature to appear on his face. He placed the mask back on very quickly as to avoid suspicion of watching eyes."Not quite. All the heroes seemed to have vanish except for me and I think that has something to do with me not actually belonging to any time frame. As you can see, I'm a very fast person."

The words he spoke to her were very fast. Where it seemed like the conversation had lasted for a few seconds, he talked to her all while moving away to avoid the demon hell bent on attacking her as well bringing up his reason for existence."I'd love to stay and talk more, but I have to fix this anomaly before anymore heroes start vanishing. Now, have you seen someone else dressed in the almost exact suit as me? Him coming here is the reason why heroes are disappearing. If I don't act soon, everything else will fall apart fast."his tone was very serious and sincere. The other Flash simply could not be in this world or else more things could happen. Even worse, that certain thing that comes after not just him, but everyone affiliated with the Time Force would be hounding him down. Given the choice of two evils, he'd rather deal with the one that had the Positive Speed Force and wasn't in black spandex.

This female herself was already in a sticky situation, so his words weren't meant for her to keep lingering on as he already moved on to his next course of actions. She had a demon hounding after her from one side and the group of Atlanteans on the other. That was not also to mention the innocent bystanders that were caught in the fray from some of the heroes ill advised advice. They could not expect everyone to flee back into their homes immediately. They were not "fast" enough after all. With a quick run in an almost zig-zag pattern, Atlanteans were flying left and right as the male delivered several blows to them, yanking their weapons from them left and right as he picked up a brown bag from the ground, an item left behind by one of the civilians. The civilians that were caught in the fray were able to escape very fast. In the process, the very "fast" male was able to nab every piece of equipment he could find off the Atlanteans as they flew around like bowling pins, dropping their weapons in the bag as only a rifle like weapon remained in his arms.

"...Nah..."He simply said as he stopped to stare at the rifle, looking at the battles taking place all while causing the weapon in his hand to vibrate and fall apart. There was the weird black man he rescued from before getting ready to engage the other clad in armor. There was the demon fighting the girl still and if he looked up in the air, it seemed like the Green Lantern was getting the upper hand on the Yellow Lantern. He frowned a bit as he stared up, the girl below making herself very well apparent as the tall dark and brooding being in black armor. She was aiming an attack to the defenseless Yellow Lantern and so called leader of the event, the beam beginning to materialize, but in that mere instant, everything began to slow down."Sure hope you have a way out of that, dude cause you pulled this after all...Would be a shame for me to try and rescue you..."

His words would be trouble to anyone around him as it would reveal his real allegiance. That was if he was moving in the same time frame they were moving in. If they did manage to hear his voice, it would be complete gibberish. Everyone else around him was moving too slow to the point their movements seemed to last forever. The girl firing her beam in the air towards the two was nowhere near hitting its proposed targets yet. The two destined to clash -The male from before and the other in armor- had began to deal their blows. The girl who was by her horse had yet to fully hear the words the demon would speak to her about being a virgin. It would be quite the buzzkill for him to do something.

"Well, time to move on to the next area. He's not here...but before I do..." His conscience seemed to be eating at him. Had he actually developed such a trait after masquerading as the famed speeding hero for a while after he vanished, locking up the people who murdered him each time they tried to commit a heist? He sighed in frustration as he hefted the strap of the bag on his shoulder, a round object being tossed up and down by his hand. They oddly enough resembled grenades, the glowing blue light throbbing peacefully on the inside of the coral designed orbs. If they truly worked that way, then he could use them more so than he could with a gun. Feeling the need to test it out, he stared at the beam eager to make contact with the Lanterns above. Hefting it up in the air, he watched as the orb flew in the air, slowing down to fit in with time itself as it began to stop right in between the beam and the Lanterns. He was by no means attempting to save the Sinestro Corps. member as the explosion would still send the two rocking if the Green Lantern did not do anything. Nathaniel was the foolish one in the first place for trying to pull people together he did not know a single thing about. Maybe it was some well knit master plan the two -the woman and the Lantern of course- had put together and he just intervened on.

In his defense, he needed to "test" the weapon out and he was in no way "saving" anyone from their apparent dooms, though they were still going to get rocked by the explosion. Feeling he had more than enough, he began to take off into the streets, not wanting to crush anymore Atlanteans for their weapons. Currently the bag contained twenty-five more of the orbs. If he heard a bang during his exit, that meant it functioned like he wanted it to. After he left, time began to resume it's course, everything happening with the grenade finding itself moving in front of the beam.

His goal remained apparent: He had to find this other Flash, though in truth he was Inertia, the famed maniac that killed his other half in other to gain his speed force again only to have it reduced to nothing to where he could no longer move. Professor Zoom spared himself of that fate, though he eventually died by The Rogues. If the Flash was not here, then he had to be defending one of the other cities and since Central City was off the locations that the Sinestro member planned in his key places, that meant he was somewhere else. His next choice in mind was Gotham City.

She saw the grenade, from the corner of her eye, and knew what was about to happen. Someone was interfering with her end-all goals. A small smirk pulled up on her lips, as the blast hit the grenade. Regardless of the man intending to help or harm, he made the blast larger, but more spread out. Essentially, it had become a minor problem for Mira, but the woman was already gone, into the Bleed. She saw the grenade, and she saw what was about to come. Cloaking herself, Mira made her way out of the bleed and re-appeared behind the man who tried to stop her attempt at killing Nathaniel. Within nanoseconds, the area around them by ten feet would become inescapable, as Mira uncloaked her armor, standing in front of the man now.

"You've got a lot of nerve, stopping me... I wouldn't have cared if Glowstick tried, but you're hardly worth the oxygen you breathe. To think, you came to me at that meeting and offered me that s**t dish you found in Atlantis, running around. You're a joke, a pathetic excuse of a man. Do you even know what you fight for?" Mira boomed, her voice bouncing off of the walls of the bubble that had been generated around them, moments earlier. Mira's words seemed to get projected outside of the bubble, as well, as if it was a loud speaker. She started to laugh, as her armor slowly began making a low humming noise. On Mira's back, a large pack seemed to be generated, and was the source of the noise that was being made. "Let me explain something for you here, small-fry. This bubble we're in, there's no escaping from. No way in or out, and no way of breaking it, no matter how many of those grenades you use go off. On my back, is a little contraption I just cooked up, which is rapidly sucking out all the oxygen in this little sphere. Within... I'd say a minute, you won't have any air to breathe. Meanwhile, I've got an entire pack of it being fed into my suit here, so it looks like you're s**t out of luck!" she exclaimed, rapidly giggling like the mad-woman she was.

The man could have not interfered, but he chose his path, and now he was going to die by lack of air. "Time's ticking away, might wanna call any of your loved ones and use those last bits of precious breath you have to say goodbye."

Inertia was quite the shocked male. The lady began to dress herself up in the shiny black armor and take on the voice of the same male all over again only after she began to emit a barrier around them and jump herself right in front of him. To top it all off, she even managed to begin to create a field around them while mouthing off about how he was basically a failed man. In case she had not noticed, he was still a teenager. Young man would do just nicely for him, but he stopped paying attention to her words after he figured out how fast the barrier was moving around the two. In fact, she literally stopped moving entirely as time literally began to halt right while she was in the middle of her maniacal laugh, the kind of laugh he would now dub as the snorting pig because when he began to slow down everything, it sounded like she was seriously snorting while laughing. He quickly ran off, time slowing down a little as he headed to see what kind of angle he had to deal with. After hitting almost every wall of the bubble, none of which he could see in the first place, he made his way back quickly to the girl, the male having already wasted fifteen seconds.

"I have a lot a nerve because I can back it up doll which is more than I can say for you...."He said to her as her and everything else moved slowly in place. He glanced up, staring into the air. "Okay..." He chuckled rather sickly with a sadistic tone to it. He left her to her useless monologue as he walked behind her very fas, tapping the pack itself before looking at the suction device itself. "I'll play the game of insanity with you..." He grabbed the suction device itself with his right hand, watching as it greedily sucked up all the air in such a gluttonous matter. Emerald eyes squinted in pure insanity as a sinister smile crept in the forms of his mouth. At that point in slowed time, the male wondered just how far that suctioning device of hers went? There was no telling with a calculating person that was once called "an irredeemable sociopath with Bart's face."

"Who said anything about using them to escape when I have a rather large ticking time bomb in front of me!?"

One by one, the male dropped three of the grenades down the suction tube, his left hand faintly vibrating as he, watching as they shot towards whatever destination they were to meet in that otherwise nifty suit of hers. Inertia was by all means far from done as he placed the bag itself, emptied of all grenades as they bounced on the hard pavement itself on the road that was near the beach, inside the suction, clogging it completely. The worst part was that the fun was only beginning as time itself never truly resumed it's regular course with him. His hand remained firm on the tube as the object itself began to speed up violently. Oxygen itself was not flammable as it was a mere enabler. When said components was met with a flammable combustable force, the said enabler would amplify itself as fire needed oxygen to spread further or else it would die out. Inertia met all the conditions needed. The oxygen the female had sucked in so greedly had no form of escape as she surely had enough within that forty-five second time frame. As he dropped the three grenades in, their seals were removed, the five second timer ticking away, but he made the complications worse when he sped their molecules as they passed by his left hand, reducing the time to two seconds. As time was slowing down for him by a matter of ten seconds, the suction itself did the work as it pulled the grenades in, blocking the air way the first time. To make sure he had sealed the deal was him clogging the tube with the bag he acquired earlier to house his grenades. Lastly, he sped up the tube itself and whenever that happened, whatever molecules he vibrated fast enough was bound to explode. If everything went right, the tube would explode, hitting the grenades, causing the compressed oxygen to expand the blue explosive energy. To make matters worse, the explosion would have a high chance of hitting some of the grenades scattered about as well.

His grin remained as the tube began to expand, the blue energy from the Atlantean bombs beginning to tear through the tubes as the explosion was now imminent. The male however did not seem to move as the ten seconds were up .With her Scarab armor, the female was more than likely to survive the events, but after the explosion occurred, the only thing that seemed to remain was vague remnants of Inertia's costume while he disguised himself as Flash.

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Ian could hardly believe what he was saying, it almost made him convulse with anger. The Green Lantern kept trying to bury it as best he could; watching all the more Atlanteans being slaughtered, being beaten, being deceived and all the poor college student behind the mask could do was grind his teeth. Part of him wanted to cry, cry at the fact that it seemed to be so easy to turn people against one and other. It was almost like Nathaniel said: It's just human nature. But there was no way Ian could allow himself to believe such a thing. Keeping a firm grip on Nathaniel, looking towards the Knight writhing about on the floor Ian, was torn between two different situations. He could either keep Nathaniel in his grasps and eliminate him from the fight right there and then but condemn Arturia or he could save her and let Nathaniel go.

It would seem that Ian found himself in quite the predicament now all of a sudden and as hard as it was for him to focus clearly through the perpetual blood rush he was currently experiencing; it obvious that there was no win win scenario here. Ian would have to make sacrifices, as all heroes did but Ian couldn't. He wouldn't. He wanted to win. He wanted to finally beat Nathaniel and in style too. No casualties. Just Nathaniel curb stomped and then, him in a Sciencell. Where he belonged apparently after his psycho talk about human nature and chaos being a masterpiece. Whatever had happened to Nathaniel way back when had obviously changed him and Ian's illusion of him being like Oliver... saveable were thrown well and truly out the window.

But then a third option presented itself and it looked tempting for a second, real tempting, but that second was enough. It was enough to scare Ian back into reality...

The Green Lantern, Nathaniel in grasp, looked down towards the Black Beetle and listened intently to her proposition. And honestly, he thought about it because why not? The Guardians permitted the deaths of enemies of the Corps which included users of the other Emotional Energies and The Reach. So, he had every right to kill the Yellow Lantern for all he'd done to the world, to his city, to him personally. However, what was even better about this scenario was that Ian wouldn't be the one doing the killing. He could just wipe his hands of it, hold Nathaniel still and the Beetle would eliminate him. The blood wouldn't be on Ian's hands and after that, the villain's alliance would crumble and fall one after the other. There would be peace again, if only for a few months and Ian could go about his normal life. Put down the ring. Look towards the future. The Beetle's influence was changing him and the more he thought about it, the more selfish his motivations became. It began to look more and more appetising until he remembered something...

But I let Oliver go...

Remembering the mercy he'd shown the Red Lantern, who was nothing but a savage murderer, snapped Ian back into semi-awareness of his actions; yes, Nathaniel Grant was somewhat a monster but something had made him that way. It wasn't essentially all his fault when you thought about what it was they did to people on Korugar. That Arkillo made Killawog look like a puppy and that Nathaniel wasn't exactly sound before by the sounds of things; having seen combat in the army before. As in tumbled further and further down the rabbit hole, something began to rip at his chest and make his heart beat faster. It was guilt. He'd been so selfish and so focussed on himself and his feud with Nathaniel that he was beginning to forget the most crucial things about himself. He was Hal Jordan's legacy. He was a hero.

However, the Green Lantern had obviously taken too long to have his little epiphany. The Black Beetle had fired and Ian wasn't sure if he would be able to do anything. He'd been too distracted to gauge the power of the shot, he could make a shield but wasn't sure whether it would be strong enough and had to do something to protect Nathaniel whom was powerless until Ian decided that he wasn't. He couldn't let anyone just die. It wasn't right, so he did the only thing he knew he could do...

Duck.

Maintaining his focus on the film stopping Nathaniel rejoining the fight; the Green Lantern stopped glowing and dropped out of the sky, apparently free falling towards the sandy beach floor out of the way of the blast. It would have worked too if something else hadn't have happened...

When the grenade hit the blast, both exploded sending huge amounts of shock waves and energy through the air and down towards the beach... Down towards the two falling ring bearers. The blast took Ian by surprise and sent him flying through the air and skidding across the beaches sand, shield down and Ian himself, somewhat out thanks to the shell shock. He'd also allowed himself to lose focus of the film thus allowing Nathaniel's ring to interface with him again btu even so, Green Lantern doubted that Nathaniel escaped that explosion unharmed seeing as he was unpowered during the initial explosion.

Picking himself up from the sand, Ian held his head and looked towards the other combatants on the beach. Ringing. He could just hear a ringing. And he could hardly focus his vision...

"Mental Instability Detected: Shellshock. Ring Interface Shutting Down..."

"Well... s**t..."

The Black Scarab had a wide variety of uses, one of her favorites was that she could detect what her enemies were capable of, and inform her of exactly what was happening, and why. Her favorite, was that she could use a blast to counter any means a person would normally use to deal with her whenever she chose to release it. The Beetle informed her of what this person was capable of, what he could do, and how he could slow time around him, so the moment he began to dart around rapidly for her, the armor began to charge something. The charge wouldn't take very long, simply a few seconds, but as the man drew near her, the charge would be released, filling the whole bubble with a blast that did nothing to the terrain around them. In fact, the blast would have appeared to do simply nothing, but to Inertia, the effects would be traumatizing. The world around him would be moving at the exact same speed he was, a counter to the man. Mira's Black Beetle informed her of the man's ability to slow time, and developed a way to counteract what he was doing; by disrupting the person's ability to process things. The blast wouldn't have done anything to him, except alter some various things within his mind. Those things made it so that he could not judge the speeds of everything around him, and causing his mind and processing abilities to be that of Mira's, or anyone else around him. She would see him moving at her speed, as he approached her, walking at a normal pace, and stepped back, circling around the dome to avoid him. The blast she emitted would only be temporary, but temporary was all she needed until he began to get light-headed and unable to get to her.

"Sorry, but it appears you hold no power here... This is my world that you are in. I know what you can do, and I know how to counter you. It's a nifty little thing my suit can do. I call it 'Antagonist Adaptation', and it's what I would have used in order to be rid of that fool that believes he can own this planet, before you interrupted me." Mira spoke, her voice keeping its normal rate to the male. She was no longer slow in his eyes due to her blast, and that would remain that way for until he suffocated and died. "You're almost out of time, too. I can imagine all this moving around has made you exhausted. Little bit out of breath, perhaps?" she questioned, a small giggle escaping her lips as she kept her eyes glued to the man. There was nothing he would be able to do, Mira had a suit that could counter any abilities he had, and could adapt to the grenades exploding, keeping her nice and safe all the while.

"I could just end it for you, if you'd rather. Shoot you in the head, not let you suffer, but honestly after that little stunt you pulled earlier, I'm not going to be as lenient." she pointed out, as the pack on her back made a beeping noise; a sign that all of the oxygen within the vicinity had run dry. Smirking, Mira took a deep breath, and let out a sigh of joy. "It's times like this that I forget to stop and cherish the little things. Like air, for instance."
