Sterling's ears pricked upwards at the sight of her smile, and his eyes flashed.

"Lose? Ha! I'm Sterling! I can't lose."

She's going to woop my hind end.

"We'll do it your way." He slowed his trot to a slow gait and looked with wonder out at the scenery around them. "It's really pretty up here," he said with truth in his voice, "I like it alot."

"It looks pretty and then suddenly it begins to rain." She shook her head and released a chuckle before dodging around a rather withered looking tree, "Then it isn't quite so nice." She added before flicking her ears forward at the sound of the rustling of evergreen spines shivering against one another.

"Ah, we're here." She murmured as the mist around them began to thicken and she gave a little shake of her mane, "Stay close." She advised although she knew it wouldn't difficult to spot her due to the colour of her coat.

"And don't follow any interesting sounds." She added as the pathway became significantly more rocky and the mist so thick that it was hard to see ahead...it was definately pot luck that she knew precisely where she was going and thus she didn't struggle quite as much as most people would on the ascent.

"Because it's usually spirits." She explained.

"Sp... spirits?"

Don't chicken out! Come on, stay strong. Don't get afraid.

"Umm, oh, ok." Sterling nudged closer to Yei, and he could feel her mane brushing softly against his fur. He cheeks flushed a violent red again, so he lowered his head, hoping she couldn't see it in the mist.

"I'll follow..." In mid sentence, Sterling tripped on a loose rock. "Aiee!" Not-so-gracefully catching himself before falling, Sterling sighed a sigh of relief. "That was close..."

"If it helps you can bite my mane?" Yei offered although she didn't glance round and seemed focused on navigating through the thick mists which appeared to have no intentions of lightening up so that she would be able to see her way towards the mountain trails which were suitably more clear than the slope itself.

"Achak always preferred grasping hold of my mane so he wouldn't lose me." She explained, her tone fond as she recalled her master who had otherwise vanished to collect herbs or do something that she didn't quite understand particularly well at all.

"And be careful of the rocks, it usually helps to keep your head down slightly."

.yei, wapi.

.yei umeko.
    Clip, Clop, Clip, Clop.

Her hooves beat rythmically against the dried soils as she made her way through the forests and towards the clearing under instructions of her beloved companion who now sat upon her back with his arms wrapped round a rather battered looking bag - needless to say she didn't know what was in the bag but whatever it was had caused Achak to be sure that he wanted to visit the Kawani village, all she needed to do was leave him on the outskirts.

Alas, as she stepped out into the clearing she gave a whicker of appreciation as the sun lapped at her red coat and soon turned in the direction of the village while she savoured the sensation of the long grasses that tickled at her long legs.

"Here will do." Achak murmured in such a tone that the Soquili mare could understand him and thus she drew to a halt and waited patiently for him to dismount before providing another whicker of departure as he kissed her muzzle and made his way into the village - it was only when he was out of sight that she flashed an equine grin, gave a delighted buck and barreled across the clearing once more to explore.

.wapi.
Wapi chewed on the fresh green grass lazily as he enjoyed the warm sun shining on his fair colored fur. He has missed the clear blue sky after long rainy days, rain made him feel melancholic.

He rolled on the moist grass and got back on his feel. The celaring was calm today, maybe a little too calm.. He tilted his head.. did he miss something again? Like a gathering of soquilis or something?? Why wasn't anyone around? How curious...
He trotted around in the direction of the village and it was then he heard the soft muffled sound hooves made on the grass approaching him. He raised his head and flickered his hears.. now who could that be? He looked to far end of the clearing to see one of his kind approaching him--one with a hue of red painted on her fur.

.yei umeko.
A click of her hocks here, a flick of her tail there - she flashed another equine smile as she savoured the warmth of the sunlight upon her fur. It had been a while since she had basked in the sunlight and with it's warmth she was also given the opportunity to look very well - too say the least Achak had groomed her that morning and thus the delicate braid tumbling down her tail as well as the sleek and soft mane looked all the better to her.

Nevertheless, she soon slowed her gait after a few moments and gave a loose shake of her head, her mane of gold, red and black shimmering like flames within the sunlight which always seemed to highlight or even brighten the colour of her coat - it was only in this shake that she caught the stallion out of the corner of her eye and stopped abruptly.

    Now she didn't recognise him...

"Hello there!" She chirped across the clearing, failing to approach him until she was given the permission to do so.

.wapi.
Wapi raised his head... No, he had not seen this soquili before... If he did, he would surely remember for her color was unique which somehow radiated warmth around her. Being a rather monochromatic soquili himself, he never thought he would live to see the day when soquili came in all shapes and colors!
"Hi!" he called back, wondering why the female soquili failed to approach closer. Maybe she was shy?.. He trotted closer with a rather curious look on his face "I am Wapi.. and you are?.."

.yei umeko.
"Yei Umeko." The mare replied automatically and offered a small smile to show that she wasn't shy, she was simply waiting for his permission to come closer given previous experiences with apparently skittish males (and there were quite a few of them around), "But most call me Yei." She added after a few moments and gave a light chuckle.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." She murmured at last before glancing him up and down. Her expression didn't faulter but she noted with mild disappointment that he was of natural colours as well, she really was beginning to feel very out of place in this society for she had yet to run into another of such eccentric colours as she.

"What brings you to the meadows these days?" She asked after a few moments as she recovered her composure.

.wapi.
Wapi nodded happily "No, no... The pleasure is mine entirely Yei. I was just about to go crazy because of boredom here!" He took a few steps away from the red soquili to inspect her a little more "My, my! What lovely colors you have! truly unique..." he said, rather silently to himself.
"I am here besically because I have nothing better to do.. What about you?"
He wondered if Yei ever got bored of being so red? He surely knew he wouldn't... He liked his monochromaic fur, and probably would never trade it for any other color but this new soquili looked good in red...

.yei umeko.
"Unique's one word for it." She muttered to herself before flashing a smile at his compliment, she was sure he hadn't meant it to be malicious and thus she didn't take it as such despite the observation being one that was made frequently before an indirect - 'but it's not my type' comment or look just to make sure she was clear of where she stood.

"As for why I'm here..." She gave a shrug and bobbed her head towards the village a bit away from them, "Achak needed to visit the village so I gave him a ride down, that and I'm well aware that the Clearing always holds at least one Soquili -" She grinned as she pointed out the fact that this was the most sociable area she knew.

"And surely you can't be bored, there's plenty to do!"

.wapi.
"Naah, you look good in red, little one!" Wapi flashed a smile back as he walked slowly towards the centre of the clearing. With the mention of a foreign name he turned abrubtly to face Yei "Achak? What is an achak?" he tilted his head curiously... Was this achak a brother? Maybe a son? Wapi never liked little ones too much, he surely did not want a little crybaby to spoil the lovely afternoon they were having.
"Well, I'm bored! I dare you to declare something fun to do here!" he smiled as he challenged the female. Either way he would win, if she found something fun to do, that was ok and if not, well then he had to make smething up to keep Yei around right? He did not want to return to his lonely boredom again now that he had a playmate. He smiled as he thought of Yei as a playmate.. No, she was still a stranger more than a playmate...

.yei umeko.
"Achak is a two legger..." Yei explained with a delicate giggle, it was then that she stretched out her neck briefly to n** teasingly at his mane before glancing around as if in answer to the challenge - she was in fact trying to think of something of suitable interest to do, something fun and yet challenging all at once.

"Well let me see." She mused as she stalked passed him and made her way slowly towards the lake that she very rarely took the pleasure of lurking around - she was particularly acquatic but the reflective and mirror-like surface had given her an idea.

"How are you at fishing?" She cooed silkily.

.wapi.
Oh it was clear to him then.. Two-legger... Like the ones who now and then looked after him? Naah, he preffered soquili companion to that for sure!
He nieghed happily as she nipped his mane "If you are planning to race me to lake, beware, I will beat you! Noone has ever beat me before!" he gave out a fake malicious laughter which clearly did not fit him. However, he realized her intention was not racing but something else, He was intrugied "Ok, what do you suggest we do then?Swim?" Although swimming was fun it was not his favorite hobby to do. He however, folloed Yei as she took him to god knows where.

.yei umeko.
Well swimming had something to do with it, she gave a devilish smile as she broke into a trot and headed towards the mirror-like entity in the distance. Granted swiming was only a part of it but it would certainly test his endurance, balance and skills...three things in which she excelled at for speed was not everything when finishing.

Eventually she did reach the lake however and with a whicker she plunged into it and waded out until she was up to her shoulders, that done she glanced round towards the stallion gave a smile and waited patiently until -

    WOOSH!

She reared up onto her hindlegs and using a surprising amount of strength, propelled herself into the air with her legs the tiny silver fish flying upwards briefly before plummeting back into the leg.

    "Fishing!" She announced delightedly.

.wapi.
Wapi blinked as water dripped from his face, droplet by droplet.. did such a tiny thing splashed all that water?? She was strong, even stronger than he expected!!
"You like... fishing??" he asked in surprise. He had never eaten any fish before, he preferred eating stuff thatw as easier to catch.. like grass.. grass doesnt swim away when you walked closer to it now does it?..
he smiled after a brief moment of shock "well, i accept your challange on the conditions of first you will teach me how to do that!" he gave out a soft laughter.

.yei umeko.
"Teach you?" She looked thoughtful for a time as she slipped back into the water and gazed towards him, she had never been asked such a thing before but alas, she gave a nod and a delighted grin at the prospect of being able to teach someone a skill - granted she didn't eat the fish but being able to lift them out of the water without hands was a skill in itself.

"Alright, I'll teach you." She promised as she gazed down into the water again and then motioned for him to join her with a cant of her head, "First things first you need to get in until you're shoulder deep and then you have to stand really still and let the water settle around you." She began in her clearest voice.

.wapi.
Wapi smiled happily and wathed Yei with full attention--well. more attention than he had given to any another soquili for a brief time at least!
"How can you grap the?? It seems hard" he whined in a rather playful mood "Ok, shoulder length, i get it...." he walked into the lake and swam a little further from the shore, just until the water hit his shoulders "is this ok?" he asked and winked. this was getting more and more fun with every minute and he knew he really was having better time than he expected he would have with a female. he used to consider them dull but this little red one had set her mind to prove him wrong

.yei umeko.
"Ah, that's where skill comes in." She smiled devillishly and glanced down at his forelegs before shaking her head, "You need to keep your hind legs tensed so that you can move fast but you need to keep your forelegs quite close together." She continued and took a breath as she watched the silver fish appear around her legs again.

"Now, see how they begin to congregate when you're still? What you need to do is reare upwards with your forelegs together while one is in front of you." She grinned, her eyes sparkling with the challenge as she caught one directly beside her knees and gave a whinny, her entire form lifting into the air once more as she threw herself upwards.

The tiny silver fish flew from the 'crevace' between her legs, somersaulted in the air and splashed into the water a distance away as she splashed into the water once more.

"When you see one really close to your chest you rear and leap upwards - the force will make your fish fllllly!" She cried dramatically and grinned once more...if he could do this first time she would be astounded.

.yei, thel.

.thel.
Thelerian snorted and stomped his hoof. Eversince he last saw Yei and Hotaru, the situation left him with a bitter taste in his mouth. Flicking his ears towards the sky Thelerian let out a small whinny to his friend Elan.

Upon hearing his friend, Elan turned sharply and landed on a tree branch overhead. "What's the matter?" Elan asked looking over at Thel.

"Flowers," Thelerian said walking off towards the mountains. "You coming?"

"Errr...sure, whatever dude," Elan said hopping off a branch and landing on Thelerian's back. "But yo know that flowers isn't your favourite type of food...,"

"It's...not for me....," replied the painted stallion as he began trotting.

.yei umeko.
She hadn't gone far, in fact her pace was very set as she picked her way down the mountainside with the rather drowsy human upon her back. He'd woken up and with a mild grunt of what seemed like displeasure he had given her a pat and had pulled himself onto his back - she'd known he'd wanted to go to the forests instantly and she could only assume that his feather of a brain had forgotten something.

Needless to say, as she tossed her head and continued to navigate her way down the slope she couldn't help but observe that humans were not particularly conversational - or at least they weren't to her because when Achak spoke it sounded like rough babble and she had to admit he was a little tone deaf.

"Maybe he wanted some more moss to heal his throat." She murmured thoughtfully, her ears pricking and eyes twinkling through amusement.

.thel.
Slipping over a rather steep part of the mountains made Thelerian flattened his ears in frustration. How do other soquilis climb such a dangerous and slippery route? There must be a certain skill in doing so that Thelerian wasn't aware about. Giving another grunt the painted stallion made a small leap and managed to secure a footing on a ledge above.

"Umm...Thel...perhaps you might not have noticed but....Yei's home is the other way...," Elan said as he waited while the the stallion hauled himself up yet another ledge.

"Yes, but the flowers I'm searching for is...up there," Thelerian replied.
"I've heard rumours saying that...if one obtains a flower from the top of this mountain, one is...sincere in apology...,"

"Want me to help?" Elan asked. "I can fly up there and get some for you,"

"No...that would be cheating," Thelerian said as he painfully made his way up step by step.

When he finally reached the top, the stallion was suprised to see a small but beautiful field of flowers. Being so high up, not many grazing animals took the trouble to reach it when food can be easily obtained elsewhere.

"Wow...," Elan remarked as he too took in the scenery. "It's amazing!"

"Well Elan, shall we start?" Thelerian asked and began nipping off a few choice flowers and sprouts.

.yei umeko.
Mountain life was not particularly difficult if one was familiar with the territory and had the necessary physique to survive. On the contrary it was incredibly easy and having lived her entire life in the mountains, Yei was built and had grown in such a way to be lithe and yet to contain many hidden strengths that her body otherwise kept well hidden.

In fact, had she been able to speak Achak's language she would have discovered that he was under the suspicion that her rather startling height was due to her dwelling in the mountains...the taller she was, the easier it was for her to cover more ground and thus she didn't have to strain as she made her way up and down the slopes.

"Just nudge me whenever you see the place." She whickered to the human on her back although she was well aware that he couldn't understand her and thus he wouldn't respond, instead...he only gave her a brief pat on the neck.

.thel.
After a while, a small bunch of flowers lay on the ground on top of each other. Satisfied Thelerian was about to pick them up when Elan cut in.
"Aren't you going to make a boquet?"

"How do I do it? "Thelerian asked looking from Elan to the flowers. "I don't actually have the materials for one you know....,"

"Heh, that is why you've got me," the hawk said and without asking Thel's consent the hawk plucked out a few strands of hair from the stallion's long tail.

Thelerian jerked slightly when he felt his tail being pulled and glared at Elan. "What was...that about?"

"To tie up the flowers," Elan said as he began to maneuver the strands of hair around the delicate stems. "Give me a hand okay? My talons and beak aren't exactly designed for this,"

.yei umeko.
Had Yei known the trouble he was going to in order to quell her anger (which had long since dispersed) then she would have simply laughed and pointed out that the gesture was unnecessary and that the thought was enough for her - unfortunately she couldn't though and as she glanced briefly up at the peaks upon the mountainside she was completely unaware of who lay up there.

"Nearly there." She whickered again as she drew near one of the tiny streams belting down the mountain slopes at top speed towards the rivers below. Alas, she received no reply but was content enough to accept the gentle stroking provided to her by her rider who, although drowsy, seemed to understand that showing his gratitude put her in very good spirits.

.thel.
After a good few minutes and a mouthful of rather hurtful exchange later, the two friends observed their end product. "No bad," Elan said proudly pffing out his chest. "I bet humans couldn't do a better job,"

"I guess," Thelerian admitted looking at their boquet.

"And for the finall touch....," Elan said dramatically plucking out one of his tail feathers and fastening it to the flowers. "There. Now we head down to Yei's place yes?"

"Right," Thelerian said glacing over the edge and gulped. "Well...it'll be faster going downhill no doubt,"

And so the stallion began his painfully slow journey downwards...

.yei umeko.
Hang on...Catching a glimpse of the rockfaces once more that led to the exquisite field of flowers upon the top, Yei noticed that something was moving and at a rather surprising speed. It caused her to pause and in confusion she gazed up at the thing she had never seen before in her life - in fact, if she were honest she hadn't known that anyone else was aware of that field except her.

    "Huh?"

Perking her ears, she squinted up onto the rock face in an attempt to discern exactly what had caused the movement and every now and then she could have sworn that she had seen flecks of white...

    Was that another Soquili?

.thel.
Reaching the bottom of the mountain (at last) Thelerian heaved a sigh of relief for being able to plant his feet on firm ground once more.

"She's over there. Talk about coincidence," Elan remarked his sharp eyes noticing Yei from a distance. "Shall we go meet her?"

"Hmmm," Thelerian nodded as he carefully carried the the boquet towards the mare's direction.

When he finally reached her, Thelerian placed the flowers onto the ground before the firey mare and took a few steps back unsure of the mare's reaction and also because she had a human with her (Thel was never very fond of them). Whatever would come next, Thelerian at least was prepared to leave should she feel like chasing him off.
    User Image

"I'm sorry Yei; for the previous encounter...," Thelerian said in a soft tone.

.yei umeko.
"I..." She paused, evidently astonished by the gift provided to her by Thel and bowed her head in gratitude as she admired the delicate flowers that had been so carefully picked from the fields - she had never anticipated that one who was petrified of her would go to such lengths for her!

"They're beautiful." She murmured, feeling the weight disappear from her back as Achak came round to her side, picked up the flowers and admired them himself before eyeing Thel in astonishment as though the concept of a horse giving another a boquet seemed rather out of sorts - nevertheless, he recovered fairly quickly and with a warm smile he very carefully slipped them into the small pack on her back.

"But I must confess, I had all but forgotten our previous encounter." She smiled warmly and gave a small chuckle, "You are therefore very easily forgiven."

.thel.
"Thank you," Thelerian replied dipping his head and smiling as he did so. " It has weighed...rather heavily on my conscience and I'm glad that it is fine now...
We're still friends then?," Thelerian added tentatively.

"Yep! Now he will at least stop being moody; not that he isn't in the first place!" cackled Elan.

.yei umeko.
"We never stopped being friends." Yei replied warmly and shook her head, glancing briefly at her human who had evidently gotten the message and was equipping himself with bags to make his own way down - he really was very skilled at understanding her in some forms even if he confused her.

"I guess that sometimes it's just difficult for a female like myself to admit when she's jealous. I have never had much luck with the stallions and it is a kick to the teeth when another female waltzes in while you are being sociable." She confessed and gave a loose shrug, "I hope I caused no trouble?"

.thel.
"Hotaru and I...are still friends," Thelerian replied nodding. "And I will... certainly keep that in mind,"

Elan looked from one soquili to the next and began preening his wings.
" Now that that is done, how about a day by the lake or something? The sun is getting hotter by the minute; or would Thel prefer going up into the mountains again?" Elan asked smirking.

.yei umeko.
"A day at the lake would be lovely." Yei agreed, glad to see that Achak had taken her boquet to keep it safe for if she did enjoy herself it would probably be ruined - hey, she hoped that he might even do that strange thing where he dried and preserved them, then she could keep them forever!

"A spot of fishing perhaps." She mused and perked her ears as she began to descend the slopes with ease although her pace was slow and easy to match for anyone (including foals).

"I take it by the manner in which you said 'friends', that you desire something more?"

.thel.
"Well...it's really up to Hotaru I suppose," Thelerian said hesistantly.
"She should have a right to choose someone else who is better if she...so wishes...,"

"In other words, he has not dared to ask her directly yet!" Elan said grinning.

Thelerian scowled at the avian on his back and had half a mind to buck him off when Elan took to the air and started flying in circles; his eyes peering at something far ahead.

Suddenly the hawk swooped down and after a few minutes returned with a dead mouse clutched in his talons. "An appetizer before I fish," Elan explained before proceeding to tear away at the rodent.

.yei umeko.
"You really should address the situation directly." Yei advised in as neutral a tone as she coul before glancing disapprovingly towards Elan and his rather immoral and brutal way of dealing with his prey - each to their own she supposed.

"If you do not act decisively and provide her with mixed signals then she will be terribly confused and it will make matters worse." She pointed out calmly and gave a soft whicker of delight as her azure gaze caught sight of the rippling, mirror like surface o the lake below her.

"And what would happen if she became so confused that you lost your chance?"

.thel.
Thelerian listened attentively to Yei advice and nodded. "Yes, that seems like a sound advice...perhaps I will tell Hotaru that the next time we meet, thank you Yei,"

Seeing that the two equines were nearing the lake, Elan flared his wings and carried his half eaten meal towards it. "Last one there is a rotten fish!" the hawk called out.

Hearing Elan's words Thelerian smiled and looked at Yei before cantering after the hawk "Shall we?"

.yei umeko.
Granted, she wasn't prepared to gallop the entire way to the leg but she did break into a leisurely trot towards it with her neck arching and hooves flicking as though she were attempting to master the art of looking regal as she moved forward - she wasn't doing it to give herself the illusion of being higher than everyone else but she was curious as to whether she could do it.

"You know, I really don't desire to get my mane and tail wet but I will definately join you by the side." She confirmed and gave a whicker as she extended her trot slightly to make her way across the clearing with a lot more ease.

"Maybe I'll even beat Elan at fishing..."

.thel.
"Oh, okay," Thelerian said slowing himself down to a trot too. "Elan can wait by the lake a litlle longer then,"

"You?! Beat me at fishing?" Elan screech almost hysterical with laughter. " No way a plant eating soquili like you can beat me! A predator build to hunt!"

Thelerian rolled his eyes at Elan's remark. "Pride comes before a fall Elan...,"

.yei umeko.
"I don't eat the fish Elan, I simply catch and then release them!" Yei retaliated with a bemused glint in her eyes as she slowed to a walk and soon to a halt by the lake, her gaze flitting after each speck of silver that shot about beneath the water's surface so quickly that she found it rather difficult to keep up with them so close to the shore.

"Just because I release them doesn't mean I'm not good at catching them." She pointed out smoothly and shook her head, "Probably better than you to say the least, which wouldn't be hard!" She chirped merely and flashed an equine smile.

.thel.
"W-wouldn't be hard?!" Elan replied in a horrified tone. " Lady! You have no idea!"

Puffing out his chest the hawked then swooped over the water's edge and neatly scooped up a fish. "Hah! See you beat that!"

.yei, chu, makya.

.yei umeko.
Both had picked their way down the mountainside in the early hours of the morning and the trek through the forests had been somewhat uninteresting due to the hours that many creatures kept - thus, it was no surprise that both beings were glad when the owl desisted it's hooting and the sun began to rise over the mountain peaks towards them.

It's going to be a nice day... Yei observed, her ears flicking forward as she readjusted her pace to match that of her two-legger who was toying absentmindedly with the jewelled band around his wrist that had been given to him by another...it was quite pretty.

Alas, eventually both caught sight of the Clearing and with a small smile her two-legger quickened his pace and darted through the trees to reach it, his fingertips brushing against the tips of the long grass as Yei followed up behind him - this was one of the rare occasions when she had become a pack horse and carried his bags, she didn't mind though as he rarely did this to her.

"Alright, we can stop here." Achak chirped, spinning on his heel to look at Yei who had absolutely no idea what he had just said, but he had risen his hand and therefore she was certain he had meant stop (she was right) and after a few moments he began to pull the bags from her back and gave her a polite stroke on the neck.

"Go and have some fun." He advised although she couldn't understand him and then, breaking into a hum again he pulled the bags up onto his own back and made his way steadily towards the Kawani Village leaving Yei to observe the Clearing which seemed to be empty at such an early hour in the morning.

"Now what do I do?" She mused thoughtfully.

Chu'mana flickered her eyes open and blinked a few times. Peering around at the new day that had begun without her being able to play in the dim light before the sun rose. The quiet always intreagued her when she woke. It made her wonder if This was how everything was going to always be, quiet, calm, and peaceful through out everything.

She unfolded her legs and stood, wobbling in the slightest manner, and took a few steps forward. Her legs were sore from the way she had slept on them and by the rocks that had chosen to use her to warm thier lifeless selfs. She tossed her mane and a few leaves fond their way out.

She drew a weary breath and contined forward. It seemed like a day to play.

Had clocks actually been in existance, Yei would have expected them to tick very loudly as she gazed out across the clearing. Alas, they didn't exist and she had no idea of what they were so she could only wait for the minutes and possibly hours to draw themselves out very slowly - this was why she often spent the morning in the mountains, that way by the time she descended others were awake.

"Helloooooo!" She called out curiously across the Clearing, her ears perking in the hope of a reply as she began to walk forward. Well, sometimes you couldn't just wait for someone to appear, you had to keep moving in the hope that they would emerge from a place that you wouldn't have seen if you had remained in the same palce.

"Maybe if I screamed they would wake up." She mused thoughtfully.

.chu.
With every step her muscles became less and less tense. The morning was a glorious one that reflected the glimmer of silver on her hooves on the ground where she kept her eyes staring. The ground absorbed all of the noise she was making and held them quietly and reflected back very little.

Her ears twiitched as she heard something. And in confusion she repeated them. "Helloo?" She tilted her gaze upwards and looked around. What could of said that? She asked herself in a still sleepy Daze. She knew it had to be something she could understand. A soquili maybe? Or maybe it was Mingan messing with her mind.

.makya.
The winged stallion made his way forward at a slow, dragging pace. He was tired and bored, and quite miserable feeling. This is what being by himself did to him, he had not seen friend or foe, or especially his family. He'd missed all of these things, not that he had a real foe.. But he thought it might be nice to run into someone.

His tail flicked and he let out a little nicker, ears curving to face forward. Then one twitched, he'd heard the 'heeelloo' quite faintly. Snuffing he turned and headed slightly east, a small hope flickering in his mind.

.yei umeko.
It really was rather a shame that she wasn't in the middle of a valley because had she been she would have proceeded to play repeatedly with her voice so that she could hear itecho back to her and she would feel quite so alone - nevertheless as her ears pricked again she took note of a very faint whisper that crept towards her with the aid of the soft breeze, the voice it belonged to most certainly wasn't hers.

"Ho there!" She called again loudly, her eyes flicking towards the direction of the voice as her nostrils flared, she could only just pick up the scent but there was most certainly someone there. This in mind, she came to a halt so that she would be easier to find and kept her eyes open for any sign of the being...

.chu.
With another toss of her man and another call from somthing else she just decided this was the easiest way to find them. "I'M RIGHT HERE!" She spoke as loudly as she possibly could. Where ever ther were she wanted to find them. Her eyes drifteded from place to place searching for what ever it was.

Her steady hoove beats became faster as she searched. She wanted to know what it was and she wanted to kno now

.makya.
Makya picked up his pace more, as the words were becoming more audible. He let out a little chuckle, as much as a horse could, and flicked his tail. They were having a shouting match!

This was just the thing he needed to brighten his spirits, really. Hard to put down, but easy to get back up. His wings stretched out and he began to race the wind, galloping with his hooves thundering against the ground. The shouts were split between him, neither of the voices moved toward the other. Interesting!

Once he was far enough along he dropped back into a canter and then a walk. "What are you both doing?" He yelled out, slowly walking in a circle. He wondered why they did not just meet up and speak normally?

.yei umeko.
Another voice replied, this time it was male and Yei was rather confused as to why they just wouldn't come towards her. Nevertheless she released a sigh and after a few moments she gave a flick of her fiery mane and broke into a trot, the malevoice seemed closer so if she made her way towards him and then located the other female voice then she could make things easier.

Perking her ears forward, she proceededd after the voice until slowly but surely the blue coat and wings came into view...granted she found that his trotting in circles was rather odd but she did give a whicker of greeting as she dropped to a walk and then lifted her head again to release another yell in the hopes of locating the female this time.

    "Where exactly is 'here'?!"

.chu.
As she still walked along, looking for the things that were speaking to her, or well yelling at her, she let out a sigh and peered through the trees and such. Her eyes felll apon two soquili. A red one and a blue one. She wondered it is was fate that there were all abnormaly colored.

"Here." She spoke loudly "Is Behind you."

.makya.
Makya grinned at the red female, stopping in his circles. There hadn't been any real reason for doing so, he'd just been waiting. His gaze flickered over her, quite a pretty mare and a color he'd never seen. He was about to answer when another did for him, and he turned his head. He'd seen black horses, but never with such green markings! Almost as if they glowed.

He whickered a greeting back to both of them. "Perhaps here is surrounding you, not just behind you." He stated with a grin. If he'd been down a few moments ago there were no traces of it left. "I'm Makya, were you two having fun shouting?"

.yei umeko.
"I was only trying to discover if there was any other life except for me around here." Yei replied, although his grin was infectious and she was soon smiling herself as she whickered a warm greeting to the mare who had appeared behind her - it was nice to know that she had been found herself although shouting really wasn't the most fond activity she could think of.

"And apparently there was." She added with an air of satisfaction as she admired the male's wings appreciatively before parting her lips in wonder at the mare's colour, she felt rather plain against this pair!

"I'm Yei Umeko, but most refer to me as Yei."

.chu.
She kept her pace forward until she was face to face with the two. They, in her opoinion were lovely. The Male was a shimmering blue with wings protruding from his side. They intreaged her and she wanted to touch them to se that they were. And the Female was one of the prettiest she'd ever seen. If not the only. The Red swirls the eenclouded her were amasing. They swirled into an abyss of dark and light reds.

She snapped back into speaking but her words were quiet. "Hello."She baegan "I'm Chu'mana but most refrer to me as Chu." And , as habbit, She tossed her brilliant black and silver hair so the sun could reflect on it.

.makya.
He supposed beauty and those types of things really were in the eyes of the beholder then, for each of them was beautiful in their own way. "Yei and Chu, hmm? You two have lovely names... And yes, it appears more life was about." He chuckled, wings flicking.

"But the question is... now that you've found life, what will you do?" He glanced to Yei before looking back to Chu, nodding his head at her.

.yei umeko.
What an odd question, what was she going to do now that she had found life? Well the obvious answer to that would be that she was going to be sociable and enjoy their company for they were two soquili she had never met before in her life and every new Soquili was of interest to her, particularly if they could dodge her view each time she came down here (which was frequently).

"I thought that answer would have been obvious." She confessed in a polite manner, her smile growing as she backed up slightly so that she could keep both in her line of sight, that way she wouldn't keep having to turn her head this way and that.

"Seeing as I've never seen either of you before I was going to simply enquire as to who you were and what you would prefer to do - I rather like fishing but that's a hobby that only appeals to some." She confessed.

.chu.
Her face went blank and she thought. She didn't know what to do. She was more of a follower than a leader if anything.

She blinked and looked at the ground kicking a hoof slightly and looking at the grass as it swayed beneath it. "I don't know what to do. I just enjoy others company." She inhaled and puffed it out quickly. "Anything as long as I'm with Others."

She raised her head to look at the two, still eyeing The odd wings on the male and still wanting to touch them.

.makya.
He offered Yei a playful smile, almost childish. "Ah but it is not obvious, many mares have different reasons for seeking out new life, as to stallions." His brows rose, if to ask if she agreed or not.

"Fishing! How does a horse go about fishing?" He sounded rather curious about it, he might even try and prod her into fishing. He looked over to Chu and whinnied. "Ah a social little thing, yeah? Me too, Being with others is what keeps me going." And talking, apparently. "But I really like flying and tag." He nodded slowly.

.yei umeko.
"Oh!" Yei looked smug as she leaned in closer as if to tell a secret that only those two should hear, "It's all about timin it's an art and you have to be very patient." She gave a nod and glanced at both soquili thoughtfully as if assessing their physical strengthsn and weaknesses based upon appearance - if they wanted to try fishing then she would have to know how they should adjust their weight.

"Your wings would make things a little more difficult." She murmured to the male and shook her head, "But you look strong so you shouldn't have a problem," She glanced at Chu and gave a nod of satisfaction, "And your lithe frame would be perfect for fishing - the green on your coat would even attract the fish!" She chirped excitedly and gave a giggle.

[**some soquili are very odd**]
.yei gets a friend.

Had she known that such odd Soquili existed in the world then she would have probably nudged Achak to within an inch of his life so that she could have what they did. True, she wanted wings, a horn and an odd tail every now and again but she knew that in time she would become horrendously bored with her appearance and would want to change back to her normal, pretty red coat.

This was the type of thing that often went through Yei's head as she wandered through the mountains and towards the Clearings and Meadows in search of company however today was quite an odd day as Achak was with her and for some obscure reason he had painted a number to her backside...he still hadn't told her what it was for.

But as they slipped through the forest and towards the Kawani village she noticed that a number of Soquili had been assembled (eight in all) and each had numbers or garlands revealing their number - he was going to race her!

Initially the thought horrified her and yet after a few moments of thought she simply gave a small snort and a nod, she could do this...she was fast, fiery, she could take them all on and even if she lost then she would still look better than them all.

...She was so vain.

...So very, very vain.

She didn't really care though and thus, with a whicker of delight she waited her turn for her races.

The first, she barely won and it was up to the organiser to decide who had won that it was that close but her second attempt was dismal and she lost to a young won (how very insulting). Even so, she was pleased to see Orchu and Akiya in the final, both of which raced well but it was to her pleasure that the handsome black wind soquili won.

"Wooo!" She whickered pleasantly as she nudged at the ground lightly with her hoof, "Congratulations!" She whickered, turning her gaze to Achak as he gave her a hug of congratulations herself for she had won a race as well (even if she hadn't been very good) and after that he drifted off to congratulate the others.

"You stumble at the start." An unfamiliar voice interrupted her celebration and with a confused expression on her equine face she turned her gaze towards the equu who had spoken to her and to her astonishment he had clothes on.

"Pardon?" She enquired, failing to take her gaze away from his odd clothes and the design upon his shoulder.

"You stumble, that is why you are so slow." The Soquili continued and shook his blond mane as he motioned to her hooves, "You cannot pick up the lost ground and therefore you lose."

"You were watching?"

"Obviously." The male replied bluntly before releasing a chuckle and glancing towards Achak who was admiring the winner, a winged Soquili no less, "Well done though." He mused after a short while and gave a nod.

"How come you have clothes on?" She enquired curiously, unable to restrain herself as she peered at the wolf on his shoulder, "Can I have some?"

"I would have expected you to want wings." He mused, evading the question as he glanced at Orchu.

"Overrated." Yei murmured dismissively before flashing and equine smile, "I want clothes!" She chirped before shaking her head and canting her head to the side, "Who are you anyway?"

"They call me, Cloud."

"They?"

"...The um -" He paused and shook his head as he gazed towards the deserts hidden by the mountainside, "Various creatures." He murmured at last before quirking a brow, "And you are?"

"Yei Umeko - now can I have your clothes?"

"Pleasure and no."

"Why not?"

"Because they're mine."

"They'd suit me better."

"No, they wouldn't..."

"Are you hungry?"

"Yes, but that doesn't mean you're going to get my clothes in exchange for food."

"Damnit." Yei snorted and then gave a soft whicker of greeting as Achak approached once more and gazed increduously at the now named Stallion, he had seen a lot of things in his time but this was definately something that evaded him - the stallion had clothes on.

"Oh, this is Achak by the way - he's my two legger and makes very tasty drinks." Yei introduced her two-legger (who was still gawking) and smiled, "Want some? Promise I won't take your clothes..."

"That would be nice, yes."
