"I've dug myself in deep this time" the strange pattered stallion began, his surroundings once again were completely unfamiliar to him. He began to wonder if he was still even in the very lands he called his home. The place was dark and hollow. He whinnied to see if anyone was around. A shiver befell him when all he could hear in reply was his own echo in the emptyness.

"You see, there's an art to this." The feminine voice would be unrecognisable to the young stallion, so too would the hoofbeats upon the uneven rock floor of the cave and yet it was evident she didn't come alone for another pair (although somewhat slower) could be heard beneath her magnified voice.

"You just have to keep an eye out for unstable surfaces and move round them!" She announced delicately, her hoofbeats jolting as she dodged an 'unstable' surface and continued through one of the tunnels of the cave in which Oathkeeper now found himself rather lost in - then again it was a horrible Labyrinth if you had no idea where you were going.

"I trust you know where you are going?" The stallion's voice echoed despite it's evident lack of volume, somehow it was easy to distinguish that he wasn't shy but he seemed only to humour the mare as he trailed after her, his hoof beats followed by the unusual 'shhhh' as whatever rested on his legs brushed against the rock.

"Of course I do!" Yei pointed out stubbornly as she rounded the corner and -

"Oh, hello!" She chirped merrily, her blue eyes fixing on Oathkeeper as she came to a halt and caught sight of the stallion despite the fading and vitually non-existant light, "See? I told you we woul find something!" She announced merrily.

"How invigorating." The stallion pointed out coolly as he ducked the low spike on the cave ceiling and flicked his gaze towards the stallion opposite him, shifting his right hoof slightly as if to adjust the odd leg band about his knee - on closer inspection, despite the dark it was clear that he was wearing...clothes!

Oathkeeper gave a jump. He hadn't even heard them coming. He blinked thrice, not sure of what he was seeing. Was the darkness playing tricks on his mind, or was there actually a wildly red colored mare and a strangely clothed stallion standing before him. "Erm, why hello!" Oathkeeper managed to nearly chirp equally as cheerily back to the unique mare, "Imagine meeting others here...even though, I haven't the slightest clue where here is." He twitched his ear, "And I'm sorry, but I just have to ask...is...is your company wearing clothing?!" he addressed the mare, raising an eyebrow at the most unique stallion he'd ever seen.

"No, it is a figment of your imagination." The Stallion replied, fairly exasperated by a subject that seemed to becoming up somewhat frequently as a topic of conversation, especially with the young mare who now kept her gaze fixed on Oathkeeper as though her companion didn't exist (well it wasn't quite as severe as that, but it was only polite to look at someone while they were talking).

"Oh, yes he is...but I can't figure out how he got them on!" She chirped, glancing at Cloud briefly as she admired the garb he seemed to carry surprisingly well, she had thought it would hinder his legs but he seemed to be moving somewhat swiftly despite the folds of material.

"That's Cloud, he's very quiet and very grumpy..." She pulled a face as if to mimic Cloud's smile before her equine smile returned, "And I'm Yei - you're lost?"

"No, apparently he is found." Cloud corrected as Yei gave him a scathing look.

"Oh ho ho ho! Aren't you a witty one!" She chirped back.

Oathkeeper gave a hearty laugh, "Good one" he exclaimed, reffering to the clothed stallion's comment. He smiled a honest sparkling smile at the two soquili before him and politely bowed his head, 1st to the mare, then to the sarcastic stallion. "My name is Oathkeeper" he began, "Very pleased to make your aquiantance, Yei, as well as you, Cloud." Oath gave another chuckle, "What brings you both to wander here? I'll have to admit, my curiosity of this strange place caused me to wander in and get lost here."

"Oh, well Mister Grumpy-guts here is new to the area so I was showing him the sights." Yei explained, adjusting her weight as she gazed at the stallion and then back to Cloud who seemed rather unimpressed by his current surroundings...apparently she had promised him more than just grey rocks.

"See, this labyrinth leads into this huge cavern where the walls sparkle really brightly, it's like they glow!" She cooed and shook her head, "So we entered here and we've been walking through the Labyrinth for a little while, shouldn't be long until we get there." She added and quirked a brow.

"And how'd you get lost? Didn't you bring anything with you or memorise any features to help you get back?"

Oathkeeper lowered he head and chuckled. "No, can't say I did come prepaired to get lost. However, usually I have an innate sense of direction" he exclaimed, "However, it's only when I follow my heart and let me tell you, when you're lost and alone, it is rather hard to find your way again." He gave a nod at Yei and then to Cloud, "Let me guess...you both came prepaired, right? Knowing where you're going and how to get there, I assume. Er---any chance I might be able to travel with you to see this destination of yours? It sounds quite wonderous. I have quite a love for natural wonders."

"I did not prepare." Cloud stated flatly as Yei seemed to 'squee' delightedly at the prospect of more company. The fact that he had asked made it all the more special as usuall she had to ask to come along, "She is the guide, she is the one who must be prepared." He added cooly, although he did raise a brow as she puffed out her chest.

"I'll have you know I did prepare!" She chirped stubbornly before giving a nod and offering a delicate smile to Oathkeeper who had such unusual markings, "Of course you can travel with us, but I have to warn you he doesn't say very much unless he's trying to be smart."

Oathkeeper nickered at the mare's nature, she was something else alright. "I'm glad at least there was one of you who prepared. It doesn't surprize me one bit, however, that the only one who had the common sense to prepare was a mare. Mares I guess just have some sort of superior intellegence over us stallions now don't they?" Oathkeeper glanced at Yei and chuckled again, "Isn't that right Yei? Your the brains and he's the brawn in this little expedition?" he exclaimed after some thoughtful accessing about the both of their personalities. Oath smiled once more, "And thank you for your hospitality. I'd have to say, I don't know what I would have done if you both hadn't shown up. Consider yourself heroes in my eyes."

"I'm a hero?" Yei cooed as Oathkeeper flattered her a number of times and seemed to warm to him instantly. Apparently it was true that compliments were definately one way to a mare's heart and she seemed less inclined to backchat him in this circumstance - as Cloud observed this he made a mental note for later use.

Note to self: 'Compliment Vain One'

Even so, the opportunity to nick at Cloud again when Oathkeeper mentioned 'brawn' was something she couldn't resist and she gave a delicate laugh.

"I could win in a spar any day!" She squealed merrily before shaking her head, unsurprisingly though, Cloud held his tongue.

"Shall we go?" He enquired at last.

"You certainly seem feiry enoughy to win a fair fight. But would it be wise? We all aren't equally gifted, some who have great strength lack intellgence, or those who have severe intellegence lack heart..." Oath began, but at the clothed stallion comment of heading onward he nodded, "Sounds good to me. Lead the way, Yei."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 20, 2006 1:19 pm

"Boy, if you're saying I lack a heart I'll smack you upside the muzzle with my hind hoof." Yei snapped defiantly as she lifted her head high and proceeded to strut into the next stretch of the labyrinth, her long mane rippling with each step and her tail swinging from side to side.

"She, is more than just insane." Cloud murmured into Oathkeeper's ear as he began to follow after the female whose coat was surprisingly easy to follow despite the dim light, either that or it was the loud 'clop' of her hooves that did.

Nevertheless, he was lucky enough in the sense that Yei was at a suitable distance so as not to hear his comment and thus she continued on, unaware of what the stallion might have been saying.

Oath had shouted quickly after Yei, "No, no! I wasn't talking about you lacking heart! I mearly said some intellectuals do. The statement was nowhere near directed at you." When Cloud came up beside him, he mearly sighed, "I don't think she's insane. She just took that comment wrong...hope I didn't hurt her feelings in any way." He followed alongside Cloud and after Yei.

(Can go? XD;; )

Surely a dark forboding cave has plenty of appeal on its own, but when an already dark forboding cave echos with voices and hoofbeats of a most curious nature, who, other than perhaps an unfortunately cowardly soul, could resist investigating? As Kadaj was not one of the aformentioned cowards, he certianly couldn't resist.

With a low head, he made his way through the tunnels, flicking an ear here and there as he listened to the voices. It was a conveniant thing that he was alone, he could hear his own sounds and ignore them, if he'd had someone else with him no doubt he'd have a much more difficult time figuring out from which way the echoes traveled. Kadaj would bet that had whomever was in the tunnels tried to find him, instead of the other way around, it would be next to impossible with all the noise they were making.

"She really is not that easily insulted." Cloud continued in a low voice as he continued to watch the young mare strut ahead of them. He really thought the manner in which she did such a thing was not only adorable but incredibly funny to watch, she thought she was being 'intimidating' but apparently that wasn't the case.

"She just acts as if she is." He continued, shaking his head as he rounded the corner after the red mare who had broken into a loud song which to his surprise, was actually in tune much to both Oathkeeper's and his luck.

"You do know...If there are any predators in this labyrinth, we will be the first Soquili they find?" He contemplated, his tone one of amusement at the prospect of Yei trying to talk her way out of being a meal.
