I'm just using that as an add-on. I know pastors are not always right. Regardless, people don't rely on themselves for approval, nor their own interpretation either. If everyone did do that, there would be tons of confusion, sinning, and abandoning of Christ - not that such a fact justifies allowing the pastor to manipulate your mind as you let your Bible collect dust. Nonetheless, I do read my Bible; and from what I've read and what I believe to know, the Bible does not oppose pokemon.

btw, I'm not sure reading or watching Harry Potter will send people to Hell. This is where it appears your drifting into the "works" zone. If they practice witchcraft, they should watch themselves. Do I approve of Harry Potter? Personally, no. But don't know much of it, so I do not run into arguments with others. I leave it to their convictions. It's like the food sacrificed to idols thing in a sense. Now if you mean that Harry Potter results in people becoming witches and refusing the gospel, then yes; Harry Potter does result in a number of people being in danger of the flames.

Pokemon portrays good values and bad. It shows Brock (who is no longer in the pokemon series) flirting with girls. However, he has friends who pull him back. Thus, they actually portray such flirting to be bad. It also shows requirement for resolve. There have been several fights between legendaries which Ash quickly sought to bring an end to them. Ash always puts his loved ones first, and, though reckless, sacrifices his life for them consistently. Are these bad values? Is there not no greater love than one who lays down his life for his friends? Given: Ash only "died" once and nearly died another time (with what I've seen...which is certainly not all the episodes) and the other times he only was willing to give up his life but came out alive through the trial. However, he still sacrifices for love. Again I go back to money. Money can be used for bad reasons and good. The same is with pokemon. And pokemon is not calling upon Satan's power to use "spells" or anything of the sort. It's merely a game where imaginary animals battle - they don't even kill each other. I understand I Corinthians 10:31, but I think sometimes people take it too literally. Given: people should do everything to God's glory, but some things cannot be done in such a way. I cannot walk to the playground to God's glory, nor can I dishonor God by walking to the playground. I cannot honor God by putting on a coat, nor can I dishonor God by taking off a coat. The list goes on. The verse can be applied to numerous, but not every situation. Anyway, I'm done with this. It's starting to seem silly. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says in WHATSOEVER you do, not in certain things, and yes you can do it in whatever your doing, so long as you don't do anything bad and out of Elohim's will it's all good, you can give Elohim glory by walking through the play ground, thanks be to him you can walk through the play ground! You know, I was meditating on that today. I would actually class Pokemon on the same level as Harry Potter. It that is not just assumption, but out of personal experience. I used to play Pokemon, well..... Kind of. I used to watch it more than played it. That and also Yu-Gi-Oh, which I played a lot more, even in the early stage of my conversion. But the Lord really shook me and really showed me on how that is a bondage in my life that I need to break it. And when I did repent of that, just like that, I felt so free in Christ. And after that, I have no desire to watch or play it. It is not just personal opinion, but out of experience. It is like this: You can tell me that the stove is hot, I might not believe you. But when I touched the stove, I went out of personal belief to personal experience. That is the same way with Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. It is not personal belief, but through experience did I repent of it. Like I said, I am not asking you to believe me. But what I am asking you to keep an open mind to the Word and allow God to show you. Remember: If you are defending something that is not Godly or Holy, you are not willing to give it up.
