iNk_mAy Potion Problems In exploring the Castle you come across a storage room of various bottles filled with different liquids and objects, nearby is a spell book. Unable to resist you proced to add ingredients together. Will you prove to be a potions whizz or blow yourself to smitherenes? Using series of dice rolls certain number combos yield certain outcomes. More or less a yahtzee like approach. Yahtzee! -potion explodes- Cough...Cough...Or not. I think this one really has a ton of potential, but I wouldn't use dice for them. We could have a list of ingredients available, and each guest may try combining them once each day. Certain combinations will yield failed results, but other ingredients will yield prizes. If they manage to get an extra special combination (from a list of winning combinations that we've already put together), they'll get a super special prize. The catch is that once something has been successfully made, the combination will be listed and that particular prize will no longer be available. That will keep people from cheating and telling each other winning combinations via PM. What do you think?

iNk_mAy Finish the Fairy Tale All good Fairy Tales need an equally good ending, right? Help finish the story of the crafty peddler and the old wizard. Will the wishes be granted of the peddler or will he be turned into a toad? Only you can tell. Players continue on the story through posts. Last person to post when the game closes or who writes the ending essentially wins a prize. This game would be mostly participant driven and simple to manage. This could so be our writing contest. eek whee heart There was a book in the library, but part of the pages were missing, so the person reading it (Mayura perhaps?) is devastated that she can't read the ending. So, the writing contest will be having the guests write their own versions of the ending. I can write the beginning, no problem, so that won't be an issue. Inky, you're on fire! xd

iNk_mAy Guess the Mythical Creature! Gizelle's books are full of interesting information but it seems some ink spilled over the pages and has made the pictures and names of some of the monsters and beings in it undecipherable. With all the chaos going on she doesn't have time to figure out what monster is being described. Based on descriptions its up to players to figure out the creature. There will be a couple of them and some sections might need to be filled in regarding information. For example ....dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings
Depending on the region from which accounts of they stem, their appearance varies greatly; may be ugly and slow-witted or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them. Sometimes associated with particular landmarks, which at times may be explained as formed from one of theese creatures being exposed to sunlight.
The equivalent being in Shetland and Orkney folklore is known as a "trow". The anwser would be a troll. I figured likely ten creatures/beings. All would need to be guessed correctly in order to win the game. I think this would make a perfect mini-game to find one of those hidden masks of power! xd

Our room just received our funds. We're going to have 2.3 million gold to spend on prizes and possibly tips. We can start looking at good prizes we can give out. I think that Broken is doing the actual buying, but it doesn't hurt to make suggestions.
We still need at least two small mini-games to use in our scavenger hunt. Post something if you think of it. I'm going to see if I can start getting the text together for the thread. Harmonic said we'd be getting our banners soon, so that will really help. biggrin

Chibi, what was that website that helps you build crossword puzzles? I'm going to try to work on that next time I'm off (I have today and Friday off this week, unless I get called in to work, which hopefully won't happen).

I just had an idea for another game! There is a strange creature that doesn't have an identity that is hiding a mask. The creature agrees to give you the mask if you give him an identity. From there, three random images will be posted. Each participant must write a short paragraph describing how each of these images relates to his personality, and then tell exactly who he is. Whichever entry we like best will wins. biggrin

It's one that all of the teachers use in the schools where I sub. I hope this one will prove easier than the other link I showed you before. biggrin Puzzle MakerAfter you make it, send it to me, and I'll take a screenie of it and edit the fonts and junk. biggrin *In case you can't save it, press "prt sc" or "print screen" on the keyboard of your computer. Then open up Paint, and press Ctrl V. Then save it! That will be a screen shot of what your computer sees, and I can edit it for you from there. heart

I didn't check to see if this game rule was already in place but can we put under the item tree that you CANNOT exchange your item? Or do we even need to? I just don't want some dunce asking to give theirs back for another one. AND NO bitching to me if their item is crappy.
We need to make it clear that the tree items can range anywhere from 100g to 3000g and it is completely random with how they get picked. Also they might get a bonus item. I have some that go better together and so two items might fall out of the tree.
FINALLY, did we decide to go with the timed/controlled tree giving times, instead of all the time? that way I have more control of it? And are they shaking or watering the tree? (not that I care, just curious smile )

It's such a help having someone else to help me troubleshoot things. xd I'd prefer to go with the ones that I control, just so they will come in all at once and I can immediately deal with them, rather then having them come in mid-event/good conversation. Plus it will reduce the time it takes for people to wait. Should we add that in the rules that we giving out a limited number at a time? (25) Which we will be doing two times a day. So a giveaway of 50 per day. I will grab a tree graphic from somewhere...
