Mist covered the ground as Rabbitfoot padded to the Moonpool. Oddly enough, it began to get misty closest to the Moonpool. The Clans were clear from the condensation, but the path he traveled was eerily blanketed with thick mist.
Rabbitfoot glanced behind him. The other cats were late- presumably because of the injured that they had to treat- so he had started the journey on his own.
Leaving yourself open to ambush isn't safe, he thought. Then again, I have my faith in StarClan to protect me, don't I? Well, Lavenderstar? Are you protecting me like you protected Puresun? He snorted, chuckling, but at that moment a sharp rock stabbed his paw. He hissed in pain and quickly brought his pawpad to his muzzle, licking at the stinging wound.
Testy tonight, aren't we?

He sighed and limped up to the pool. Its glassy surface was so mesmerizing. He vaguely remembered his first visit, and how excited he was to meet with StarClan. However, he also remembered Hauntedheart's snarky comments and angry demeanour.
I don't miss you, traitor, he thought to himself bitterly. Truthfully, though, he felt a pang of longing for his old mentor. She was troubled at times, but she was good at heart.
Or, so he had thought.

Shaking his head, he glanced behind him and thought he could make out shapes approaching out of the mist.
"Who's there?" he called cautiously, squinting in an effort to make out the shapes.

O.O.C I don't think Ocean is going to show up for the roleplay, we'll probably need a replacement.

Serenepaw approached the Moonpool, she was excited, it would be her second time being there. Despite her excitement she kept her clam and cool composure, she didn't want to seem like an annoying Apprentice, that would seem terrible.

She took note that it was misty in the darkness of the night, only the moon to provide her light. She felt the rocks beneath her paw pads prickle at her, trying to hurt her, though that only made her tread more carefully to avoid any type of injury. Even the smallest of injuries can be deadly. Serenepaw told herself this quite a few times, she didn't want to forget it. Oceanmist had taught her that, and anything Oceanmist taught her, or even told her, she would believe.

Some cat was up ahead, her fur prickled; she couldn't smell him. Her tail tip twitched, she squinted, her green eyes narrowing while she approachedm ore closely, Oceanmist following in step next to her. She seemed to be calm too, way too calm... too calm for what had been happening amongst the clan, perhaps she was silently thinking to herself.

"Rabbitfoot...?" Serenepaw questioned, drawing closer to the brown tom, he seemed to be defensive and uneasy, she hoped he wasn't too harsh. Oceanmist had told her about the traitor Hauntedheart, how could she ever do such a thing! Abandon her clan for some stupid tom! Serenepaw thought back to Sandstripe at camp. How would he be right now? Sleeping? That's what she hoped for, because that's what she told him to do.

"It's nice to meet you, Rabbitfoot." Serenepaw kept a calm composure, she sat down a little ways off from him, her head moved to the side, she peered into the depths of the Moonpool. She was sleepy, so sleepy, but she needed answers from StarClan, they would guide her, tell her everything... so she hoped.

"If gods the game that You're playing, well we must be more acquainted,"

[Oceanmist rushed into the moonpool, completely excited for her visit with Starclan. This might have been the most emotion she had shown since her last visit. It just brought out the happy side of her. Looking around, she already saw Serenapaw and Rabbitfoot speaking with each other. Grinning, she padded over to the two cats. "Hello, Rabbitfoot, Serenepaw." [She began, before turning over to face Rabbitfoot.] "How is everything fairing in Nightclan?" [The blue-gray she-cat waited patiently for the tom to reply. She didn't want to get personal, but just wanted a small conversation to spark. The she-cat happened to be really bad with a large conversation. She honestly just didn't know where to place herself when it came to a large conversation. small talk was just enough for her. Anyways, Oceanmist was getting anxious to talk to Starclan. After the previous disasters, Seaclan's fate, every clan's fate rested on this simple message. And the fact the her den had been barricaded by a giant boulder made everything ten time worse. And injures had to be healed with whatever they could find in the forest. The past moon has been dreadful, basically. Salvaging herb the best she could, the stress of having to use a makeshift den and such. It put a large strain on her and her work. However, the she-cat tried her best to stay calm and collected for the sake of her clan, or the injured. If she freaks out, her clanmates that were under her care would freak out too. It's natural, if you see one person freak out, especially on in a high command, the ones under her paw will most likely panic as well. Shaking her head a little, she escaped from her thoughts and returned to her conversation with her apprentice, Serenepaw, and Rabbitfoot.]

"Because it must be so lonely, to be the only one who's holy."

Rabbitfoot blinked as Serenepaw emerged from the mist, followed by her mentor. "Uh, greetings Serenepaw," he said awkwardly, adding, "And greetings to you too, Oceanmist."
He flicked his tail at the mention of NightClan, and remembered what Foxstar had told him. Don't give anything away that would make NightClan look weak.
To be honest, he was glad Foxstar was getting ambitious about NightClan. So many other leaders had run it nearly into the ground. It was refreshing to see a cat who was passionate about the Clan actually in charge of the Clan.
He said gruffly, "NightClan is faring well. Although...we suffered two casualties. Dark-kit and Puresun were killed during the groundshake. Puresun died saving two other kits. I will see her in StarClan today."
He bowed his head momentarily before continuing, "Other than that, we are fine. Our Clan is inspired by her sacrifice, and we are more determined than ever to survive."
He flicked his ears, hoping he hadn't spoken too much, and quickly changed the subject. "How is SeaClan faring?" he asked politely, although he really couldn't care less. He had a lot on his mind, and SeaClan was the least of his worries.

                COMPANY: Rabbitfoot, Oceanmist, Serenepaw
OOC: Does Fadinghorizon know about Hauntedheart being her mother?

Although the ginger she-cat kept up a cheerful facade while in Stormclan, her demeanor quickly vanished when she set off on her journey towards Moonpool. This was going to be the first Moonpool journey she would make without anyone accompanying her, not even her old mentor Moonblaze. Moonblaze had been sent off to mentor Mosspaw in Breezeclan, leaving Fadinghorizon the burden of being the sole carer of all the Stormclan cats. Although she had confidently reassured her friend that she would manage without any problems, she couldn't shake away the nagging feeling of doubt that clawed at her chest. What if she wasn't good enough? What if she couldn't save a cat when it counted? What if she just wasn't as good as Moonblaze, and that sending Moonblaze over had been a mistake?

In the midst of her pondering, she barely noticed when she finally made her way to Moonpool, her hunger being sated by the various travelling herbs she had eaten beforehand. It seemed that she was not the last to arrive, although not the earliest. Rabbitfoot, Oceanmist and Serenepaw had all arrived, leaving only Moonblaze and Mosspaw to arrive. Had her friend run into any problems? Did Breezeclan welcome her warmly? Would she manage alright without Fadinghorizon's help in Breezeclan? While a million questions raced through her head, Fadinghorizon purred in greeting as she approached the three cats. "Rabbitfoot, Serenepaw, Oceanmist, it's good to see that you're all still well." She purred as she went up to each of them and gave them each a quick rub on the cheek as a warm greeting.

"How's the paw, Rabbitfoot? Still painful?" Being kind and naive to a fault, Fadinghorizon didn't seem to take Rabbitfoot's grumpy temperament to heart. "And Serenepaw...it is Serenepaw right? You've grown much larger, I could hardly recognise you!" She gave the apprentice a friendly lick on the ear, while giving her mentor Oceanmist a polite nod. While she seemed friendly and carefree, inside she was both excited and slightly scared about what Starclan's premonitions would be tonight.

User Image”We’ve finally arrived, Mosspaw, welcome to the Moonpool, a sacred place our warrior ancestors and the cats of the living have deemed as the “passageway” between our world and StarClan’s world.”

Moonblaze announced calmly as she led her newcomer up to the small clearing that surrounded a beautiful star-kissed pool of crystal waters; untouched like a fragile glass which reflected the sky above onto its heavenly body. The temporary BreezeClan medicine cat could feel a nostalgic spark ignite itself within her heart as she watched her apprentice take in the beauty that was the Moonpool. The main attraction was the starry pond nestled within a glorious stone hollow that surrounded the medicine cats; the great points reaching towards the heavens above. But, an eye-catching cliff proudly trickled a stream of starlit water from a hidden cleft which nourished the pool. There was also the flat yet smooth stone that served as a “beach” and a place of rest for any cat who wished to share tongues with StarClan. Although…the most peculiar wonder of the “sanctuary” was the peculiar passageway that led to the stone beach…while it may seem plain compared to all the Moonpool had to offer, if one offered a keen eye to it, they could notice the faint pawprints possibly left by their very starry ancestors…or…perhaps…some ancient cat that was much greater than anyone could’ve imagined… The she-cat’s eyes glazed over ever so slightly as she began to reminisce…recollecting a special memory that seemed as if it happened a moonrise ago…

”Come Moonpaw, there are several cats here who wish to meet you. Do not fear.” A beautiful slender she-cat with a pelt mirroring Silverpelt upon a black night sky had whispered tenderly, her glowing blue gaze travelling towards something behind her. The she-cat who had spoken moved a pawstep to the side, revealing a tiny fluffy she-cat with fur as pure as snow, Moonpaw. She looked nothing more than a vulnerable she-kit. Trembling, Moonpaw shot behind the black she-cat with the dappled pelt’s hind leg once more, not daring to move in the fear of being exposed. ”I-I don’t wanna Starpelt…don’t make me…” The young apprentice whimpered pitifully, scrunching her eyes tight as she buried her head in her mentor’s fur. Starpelt chuckled softly as she rounded on her apprentice so she could face the she-cat properly as she spoke. ”Come now, Moonpaw, there is nothing to fear here. We’re all friends here. Don’t you want to meet StarClan?” A barely audible “no” answered her. Sighing, Starpelt continued. ”Don’t you want to be my apprentice” After a bit of silence, a muffled yes, louder then before, replied. Smiling, Starpelt spun behind the cowardly she-cat and nudged her forward and out of the safety of the medicine cat’s shape. ”You’re going to have to meet StarClan and the other medicine cats if you want to be my apprentice then!” Starpelt meowed lightheartedly as Moonpaw squealed in surprise from the abrupt force, tumbling into the clearing.

Moonpaw couldn’t find the right words...no...she couldn't find any words...to describe the beauty before her. From the mirror-like pool of stars to the strange ancient pawprints upon a narrow stretch leading to a stone “beach” of sorts, Moonpaw was swallowed by the sheer awe of it all. Still reveling in the scenery, Starpelt stepped beside her apprentice and rested her tail upon the younger cat’s shoulders, a glimmer of amusement in her eyes. ”Now, the she-cat over there with the smaller long-haired she-cat next to her is NightClan’s medicine cat, Yellowdew, and her apprentice, Hauntedpaw.” Tearing her awe-struck gaze from the pool, Moonpaw acknowledged the newly introduced she-cats warily, a tinge of fear in her expression as she caught the intimidating eye of Hauntedpaw and the cold silence of Yellowdew. Moonpaw never did like NightClan. Starpelt sighed, shooting the NightClan cats a pointed glare before directing her apprentice’s attention down the line of cats before them. ”The wiry tabby tom besides them is Berryblaze, the white she-cat besides him is his apprentice, Icepaw.” Courage swelled within the StormClan apprentice’s heart as Icepaw gave her a sweet smile, her mentor nodding kindly in her direction as well. They seemed like nice cats. She felt as if her and Icepaw would get along very well. ”Besides them is SeaClan’s medicine cat, the brown tom, Birchcrest, accompanied by his apprentice, Cloudpaw.” Moonpaw nodded to them politely and they copied her, though Moonpaw didn’t miss the cheerful grin of Birchcrest’s or the wide grin from Cloudpaw. They were definitely nice cats, she could tell.

After the introduction, Starpelt padded towards the other medicine cats, who, of which, were all seated on the stony beach besides the Moonpool. The pretty medicine cat beckoned her apprentice with her tail, her eyes dead serious as she meowed eerily.

”Moonpaw. Is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?”

Reaching her mentor’s side, Moonpaw faced the medicine cat bravely, her eyes betraying nothing as she firmly replied…

”It is.”

The pretty white medicine cat regained her composure, blinking the far away look from her crystal blue gaze as she introduced her apprentice to the surrounding medicine cats. They displayed shared looks of curiosity and shock from the StormClan medicine cat arriving late with an unfamiliar she-cat who looked no older then an apprentice…sans Fadinghorizon, who knew the truth behind this strange appearance.

”Pardon our delay, an injured clanmate kept us busy. Now, this is Mosspaw, BreezeClan’s medicine cat apprentice...”

Moonblaze mentally prepared herself for the barrage of questions that were sure to come from the other medicine cats as she rested her plumy tail upon Mosspaw's shoulders soothingly.

StarClan help us...

If you can't feed a l o t of cats, then feed just o n e.

Mosspaw scampered after Moonblaze, the small she-cat becoming more and more curious the closer they got to the Moonpool. Green eyes wide with wonder; she nodded eagerly at her Stormclan-mentor's explanation of the Moonpool. We're here! She thought excitedly. They were finally there. She'd been waiting for the moment that she could go to the Moonpool ever since Wolfspirit agreed that she could be his apprentice. Mosspaw moved her suddenly dulled gaze to her paws. She'd been excited for the day Wolfspirit would show her the Moonpool, not some random Medicine Cat from another clan. A soft whimper left her mouth, but she quickly shook her head as the other Medicine Cats entered their view. She wouldn't seem weak. Of course not! She refused. She would keep it inside.

Approaching the group of cats, Mosspaw did not miss the looks on their faces as she padded beside Moonblaze. She glanced around at the group of unfamiliar cats. She knew no one except for Moonblaze; and she'd only met her earlier that same day. The black and white Breezeclan apprentice gave a small nod to the cats.

"Hi..." She meowed softly after Moonblaze had introduced her. Mosspaw glanced up at Moonblaze, she felt like her insides would explode from the nerves she was feeling. Taking a silent breath, she leaned into Moonblaze's touch. Despite the fact that she was not Wolfspirit; her presence was no doubt comforting for the young apprentice.

"If gods the game that You're playing, well we must be more acquainted,"

[Oceanmist began to feel tense as more cats flooded the moonpool. It wasn't even that many, actually. Maybe even less than ten cats were there at the moment, yet she was beginning to shy away from the rest of the medicine cats. Taking a deep breath, the she-cat set back her fears to try to converse with the rest of the medicine cats.] "Oh, Rabbitfoot. Puresun was an honorable warrior. She's an inspiration to us all, and may she be fairing well in Starclan." [she exclaimed, meaning what came through her mouth. Oceanmist had met Puresun only a few times, yet had heard good stories about the Nightclan she-cat. Zoning out a little, the she-cat barely caught Rabbitfoot's question. How was Seaclan? "How am I forgetting this? It's like everything went straight through my head." [she scolded herself for forgetting almost everything that had happened in her own clan. Maybe since she was so caught up in her work and the fact that her den was blocked off, everything flew past her. Quickly reviewing, Oceanmist came up with a few minor events that wouldn't make Seaclan look so vulnerable.] "Nothing much has been going on in Seaclan. That whole Earth shaking event threw us off track a bit, and there have been a few injuries here and there. However, we were able to recover and everything is running smoothly!" [Oceanmist explained, hoping her brief summary of her clans well being would suffice as enough. She wouldn't dare mention anything about that rogue, or anything too tragic. No cat probably wanted to know about the well being of the other cats clan. The past few event are probably what all cats had on their mind these days. Oceanmist barely even caught a word Rabbitfoot spoke, besides Puresun's death. But that was basically all she heard.]

"Because it must be so lonely, to be the only one who's holy."

Rabbitfoot flicked his ears in acknowledgement of Oceanmist's condolences. "Sure she was," he muttered as Oceanmist commented on Puresun being an inspiration. Most of the other Clans are unaware of her betrayal. They asked about her kits, because pretty much everyone suspected she was pregnant, but NightClan never spoke a word. If anything, rumors of her having a rogue's kittens are considered simple rumors. No cat knows how many secrets NightClan is hiding.
Rabbitfoot nodded in greeting to Fadinghorizon as she entered. He responded flatly, "It's fine."

Then Moonblaze entered with a small apprentice, and Rabbitfoot's fur prickled.
What?! he thought furiously. Has StormClan taken another medicine cat apprentice? How could they? They already have two full medicine cats!
Oh, but that was just the honey on top of the thornbush. He gaped at Moonblaze as she introduced the young apprentice as...BreezeClan's medicine cat apprentice.

"Would you mind explaining what in StarClan's name is going on here?" Rabbitfoot growled indignantly. "Why is a StormClan medicine cat bringing a BreezeClan apprentice to the Moonpool? Where's Wolfspirit?"

He glared at Moonblaze and Mosspaw suspiciously, narrowing his eyes.

I watched the cats come into the Gathering, Fadinghorizon cooed over me, how I had grown so much. I simply squirmed uncomfortably as I looked at the orange she-cat. She was beautiful, with bright orange fur that looked a little silvery in the half light. She had one of the bluest eyes I had ever seen and I was almost star struck to see them, they closely compared to Sky's and Griffonsea's eyes, how I loved the blue color. I lifted my head to Rabbitfoot's words... Puresun.. Dark-kit.. how tragic. I knew nothing of this kit, besides some faint gossiping I thought I heard a long time ago, though it was nothing of importance. Puresun though, I had met her at the last Gathering and I now thought of her with a pain in my chest. Would there come a day I wouldn't be able to save my clanmates? I knew Rabbitfoot wasn't able to do anything, if he had lost two of them there couldn't have been anything to do.

Oceanmist gave her mourns to Rabbitfoot and my ears perked up at her. How kind of Oceanmist, to mourn the loss of some cat who wasn't even in our clan, but the others seemed to mourn it too. "Tragic" I said to the tom, turning my head to find another bright blue pair of eyes coming through the mist, a white body snaking behind these blue eyes and then a set of vibrant green to follow.

Where was that male cat of BreezeClan? What was his name..? Foxspirit? No, that wasn't it, but it was close enough. I smiled warmly to the BreezeClan apprentice, she looked nervous and I didn't want her to feel worse.

My ears flattened back and the smile faded from my masked face, I looked over at Rabbitfoot who now had an attitude, he was some type of angry and his fur prickled. "Just calm down, NightClan Medicine cat.." I said to Rabbitfoot, I'd likely end up calling him Prickly Rabbit by the way he was acting. "They must have a good reason, for ah, BreezeClan Medicine cat to be gone." Was he dead? Had something happened to Wolfspirit? I now had memories of the brown tom swirling through my head. He wasn't exactly the youngest cat around.

User ImageThere was no time for proper greetings as a certain tabby tom was set on ruining the white healer's peace with heated questions and concerns, voicing what the other medicine cats haden't in a harsh manner.

Sensing the sudden tension wafting throughout the midnight air, Moonblaze deftly shifted towards Mosspaw protectively, brushing her pelt against the young she-cat in comfort as she stepped forward diminutively. She stroked the black and white BreezeClan apprentice to keep calm with a stroke of her feathery white tail, giving the apprentice a sympathetic flash from the corner of her eye. No matter what happens…a promise is a promise…I will protect this cat with all my power and follow the will of StarClan Despite the obvious hostility NightClan’s conceited medicine cat, Rabbitfoot, proposed, Moonblaze showed no signs of trepidation or repugnance as she met the tabby tom’s piercing gray gaze, brimmed with accusation and suspicion, with a clearly emotionless and unwavering icy blue one; a shimmer of defiance laced deeply within their incandescent depths. This tom may deny it, but he's more like Hauntedheart then he thinks...and that's not a good thing...

The eerie atmosphere of the mist-coated night seemed to add an appropriate emphasis to the silent showdown between gray and blue. But, a single soft gentle mew reassured her prickling nerves.

"Just calm down, NightClan medicine cat…They must have a good reason, for ah, BreezeClan’s medicine cat to be gone."

Moonblaze nodded indignantly in agreement with Oceanmist’s own apprentice as she attempted to soothe the conflicted burly tabby. The beautiful snowy she-cat shot Serenepaw an appreciative look before giving Rabbitfoot a narrowed icy gaze that only presented wisdom and diligence of strength beyond her years as she looked up to the larger medicine cat with a, more or less, emotionlessly calm and collected expression. StormClan and NightClan had never waded in peaceful waters with one another, and neither did there medicine cats, no matter how much Moonblaze made an effort to change this approximate fate. Clan rivalries sometimes proved too powerful for even the medicine cat bonds to over come…especially with recent events only adding fuel to the menacing fire…

”I fully intend on explaining why I’ve arrived here with BreezeClan’s chosen medicine cat apprentice. So if you would be so kind as to calm yourself and halt from jumping to any further conclusions, I will willingly inform my fellow medicine cats on what has occurred, the reasons, and of Wolfspirit’s whereabouts.”

The pretty medicine cat concluded firmly, her tone giving nothing but a strange but inspiring serenity that could be considered anomalous for the current scene taking place. But, before disclosing the truth to the other medicine cats, Moonblaze took advantage of the pause that followed to study her supposed colleagues. Her first specimen was Rabbitfoot, whom she regarded with a look of composure and untroubled calm. Something unfortunate must’ve struck NightClan previously…as Rabbitfoot appears rather tense and distant…and especially quick to point a claw as well…hmmm… Pale blue orbs traveled to the pair of SeaClan she-cats who served their clan well with the guidance of StarClan, a thoughtfulness shimmering upon her gaze as she looked to the small creamy brown she-cat beside her gorgeous blue-gray mentor. SeaClan must be faring relatively…well…though I feel that they too have suffered difficulty within their clan…but they’re resolute and refuse to look feeble…alas…Oceanmist is lucky to have such a prudent apprentice such as Serenepaw…their clan will need the unwavering diligence and wisdom for the troubled times to come… Moonblaze felt a nostalgic and involuntary wince in her side as her eyes now rested upon her former apprentice and precious friend, a cat she considered a daughter, Fadinghorizon. A flash of well hidden pain flickered beneath her striking blues as they bore into the orange tabby’s vibrant ones. Oh Fadinghorizon…how hard must it be for you to carry the clan upon your shoulders…alone…for the first time. I relentlessly reprimand myself for leaving you at such a crucial standpoint during such disconcerting events threatening our beloved clan. I hope you’ve forgiven me and prove to the clan that you’re a wonderful, promising, strong, and amazing medicine cat…and…that you’re not just “Moonblaze’s shadow”…my dear Fadinghorizon…I believe in you…don’t forget that… The slender silk-furred she-cat fiercely believed in her apprentice’s abilities and trusted that her gaze would voice her unspoken thoughts to the brilliant ginger cat. She momentarily allowed her gaze to wander towards the undoubtedly nervous apprentice at her side, a tender but tragic smile crossing her muzzle as she studied the she-cat thoughtfully. Young Mosspaw, you’ll require the most strength, both spiritually and physically, in order to conquer your fated tribulations. I will do all that I can to aid you and protect you…as Wolfspirit would’ve done…but…in the end…it must be you who shines like a star in the end…but I will make sure I am there to guide you to that point…as I promised your mentor…your clan…and StarClan… Knowing that StarClan approved of StormClan’s choice, and her own, of supporting BreezeClan in dire times with herself to teach the new apprentice only increased the courage and determination Moonblaze felt in helping another clan, more specifically their medicine cat apprentice. It was StarClan’s will and she knew she had to follow through for the fate and future of the clans of storm and wind. This is why she would most certainly not back down now, especially to Rabbitfoot.

With a final fleeting look, flickering between her new and former apprentices, Moonblaze began to answer the questions that swirled within everyone present’s minds with a salient and strengthened voice, feeling as if StarClan were with her, supporting her, as she spoke.

”To answer your many questions, I will begin with our fellow medicine cat, Wolfspirit’s, state of being. As many of you have come to witness and endure, there was a merciless earthquake that scarred the earth and unleashed unforgiving disaster upon the clans of the lake. From what BreezeClan’s informed me...within that disaster, Mosspaw,” Moonblaze’s wispy white tail directed everyone’s attention to the adolescent beside her, ”The future medicine cat of BreezeClan, selected by Wolfspirit himself only a few sunrises prior to the catastrophic event, was sure to meet her end as the ground broke beneath her and threatened to swallow her whole. Moonblaze was thankful for the detailed information given by Valiantstride, BreezeClan's newest deputy, as she would have certainly failed to give a better explanation for the fateful happenings. The beautiful she-cat glanced at the apprentice, encouraging her to stay strong with a soothing press to the side with her own body. She also inhaled a much needed breath before proceeding, her mew soft and on the border of melancholic. Wolfspirit refused to allow the death of the future and allowed the past to…meet destiny…when he leapt in and saved young Mosspaw from her most definite fate…and…met his own end instead as he suffocated and was buried alive by the earth’s wrath…" There was a faint pause and a shallow, shaky breath from the speaker. "With this knowledge…BreezeClan’s medicine cat…who had served faithfully under his clan with StarClan’s promised assistance…is dead.”

...

Moonblaze stopped herself from continuing in order to allow the news of the BreezeClan medicine cat’s death to sink in for the other medicine cats…besides Fadinghorizon, who knew all too well of what had happened and its…consequences in turn. The fair healer insisted on remaining cool and composed as grief began to stain the air, mourning evident for the late gray tom-cat with such a noble and kind heart. The Moonpool and mist around them seemed to ripple with shared grief, faint droplets falling from the clear sky to show StarClan's sadness. But, willing herself to continue without collapsing from sorrow, Moonblaze prayed for StarClan’s strength as she mewed once more, her muse now compassionate and gentle, like a queen consoling an upset kit. "His death is, no doubt, a loss for all the clans as such a kindhearted and valiant medicine cat had sacrificed his life in order to preserve the future of BreezeClan, and, simply, as an act any true warrior cat would perform. My prayers go out to his clan and that he was received safely with open paws to StarClan's heavenly ranks, as he deserves to be at the highest for the noble deeds he has delivered. He was a great, compassionate, and wonderful cat, in all, and will always be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, loyalty, and heroism he's carried out until his last breath. May he be watching us from Silverpelt, protecting and heeding us of the dangers to come. You'll always be honored by the clans, Wolfspirit." Moonblaze finished her heart felt eulogy for the fallen medicine cat with a gracious bow of her head as a grief-stricken silence filled the hollow, the mist curling growing slightly thicker around the six cats as she finished. The she-cat swept her sympathetic gaze across the clearing before returning her attention to the awaiting crowd around the starry pool, seemingly gazing at nothing in particular as she opened and closed her slightly glazed eyes; beginning her muse once more with a hefty sigh. ”While the death of this fallen hero hit BreezeClan hard, and painfully so, they had to remain strong and consider the future of the clan which was now at stake after the quake ceased. Mentorless and literally just beginning her training, Mosspaw was without a cat to guide her paws on the mysterious but necessary path of StarClan’s ways…as BreezeClan now lost its medicine cat. Knowing this, BreezeClan knew that there was only so much the young medicine cat apprentice could do with such little she received before the horrendous disaster that had befallen us all. So, they looked to the clans for assistance, as StarClan would’ve wanted. Despite our rivalries, there have always been these four clans by the lake and it must be kept that way, as you all know. Thus, BreezeClan went to the only clan that had a medicine cat to spare, knowing full well that there must be a fully-trained medicine cat to mentor their apprentice who was devoid of one. StormClan. Our clan leaders had met and came to a conclusion that I would be sent to BreezeClan as their temporary medicine cat so I could pass on my knowledge to Mosspaw until she’s ready to take on the title of the medicine cat and care for her clan by herself. In return, on par with the agreement, BreezeClan's promised to share their herbs with us, as StormClan suffered a substantial loss in supply from the destruction of the earthquake, what, with our territory filled with the most threatening obstacles. Not only did our clans compromise with one another for my mentorship to Mosspaw for medicinal herbs needed for my clan...this is also StarClan’s wish. To support this claim, I had received a dream from StarClan before BreezeClan’s deputy arrived in StormClan to talk of negotiations, telling me of the duty I must fulfill, and that was training Mosspaw here.

You’ve all known me for quite some time and recognize me so that surely you believe neither am I a traitor nor a liar, and I intend on living up to my good name.

Our Clans are far from plotting anything devious or problematic of the sort, only seeking survival by offering help as guided by StarClan. As medicine cats, if you doubt my word and challenge me, my new apprentice, or our clan’s promise with one another, you are surely challenging the will of StarClan and have proclaimed yourself a heretic to the way of which we medicine cats must follow with diligence and complete faith in. I heed that you believe I only speak the truth and that StarClan approves of my mentorship over Mosspaw. I appreciate your support in my new task and, from now on, I will serve as BreezeClan's medicine cat for the time being...but my loyalties will always lie with StormClan, like any of you in my place. And, I won’t refuse the wishes of our warrior ancestors, no matter what trouble may befall me from my choices. Thank you, and, I apologize for the inconvenience and apprehension I’ve certainly carried to this sacred place. But, I know I am to at least inform my colleagues of these misgivings and promise that I will always stay true to StarClan, as will BreezeClan and StormClan, whom only wish, just as I do, that our clans may all continue under the code and prosper just as we’ve done for many seasons before us and after us.”
Moonblaze closed with a passionate glow within her frosty pools, her lips set in an appreciative smile as she dipped her head respectfully under Silverpelt’s twinkling swath of stars.

A beam of radiant moonlight, like a spot light upon a stage, rested upon Moonblaze and Mosspaw’s figures, causing them to shine as if StarClan bestowed their blessings and consent upon the clan’s decisions concerning the medicine cats and the futures of their clans.

Even StarClan agrees with what I’ve said…the stars are on our side…and with this support, I will fulfill my duty to Mosspaw, the clans, and StarClan. Just as I’ve stated many times over. Moonblaze confirmed silently with great confidence as she relaxed herself within a comfortable position as she awaited the responses of the other medicine cats. She mentally and physically prepared herself for what was to come, determined to at least protect Mosspaw, whatever it was.

I know I am doing right…surely StarClan does as well…no matter what any cat says…this is their will…and as a medicine cat dedicated to the faith…I will do as they wish…
