Welcome to the Moonpool!

This beautiful pool lies a little under 1 day's journey from the Clans in the cool rocks of the higher terrain. The stars are reflected perfectly in the cool water, and as medicine cat, you dip your nose in the water to recieve a dream from StarClan.

[ooc:] *isbeingabravelittletoaster* =P

[Rabbitfoot limped into the clearing that was surrounded by trees about a foxlength behind the BreezeClan and SeaClan medicine cats. He hissed at each step for another bolt of pain shot up his paw. Ever since he had fell on it in Lavenderstar's den, it had been hurting like crazy. He muttered obscenities under his breath. Curse Puresun for knocking him over like that. His lip drew back at the memory of the 'simply wonderful' day that he had experienced before leaving the camp. He snorted. If he saw Lavenderstar in his dreams tonight, he would definitely give her a piece of his mind. He stared hard at the ground below him. Simply ridiculous.

Rabbitfoot sat down about a foxlength away from the moonpool, staring down at the shimmering pool. The moon had just begun to rise, so its shape sat off-center as it was redisplayed on the shimmering water. They still had some time before moonhigh. There was definitely enough time for StormClan's medicine cats to show up. He nodded slightly, snorting lightly. The medicine cats of StormClan would be late for such an occasion; how irritating. The Clan had also been late for the battle with the Star Slayers too. He snorted.

Foolish pansies, the lot of 'em.

[oocsquared: After posting that last thought, I am SO TEMPTED to create a villain-type character that thinks that he alone is invincible... So I could make his trademark saying, "Foolish mortals." So. Tempting. Dx

Painted souls that streak the sky

StarClan

[Voices whispered out from the pool, resonating softly amongst the shadows. The sound of pittering and pattering of pawsteps could be heard echoing across the rocks, out of sight yet clearly audible.
The voices pulled at Rabbitfoot urgently, a low murmur growing in the small area.
Closer, closer.
Time was drifting away.

StarClan had many things to tell that night. Especially for NighClan...
Swampstar shifted on his feet, brown eyes glimmering with worry and anxiety. Lavenderstar stood behind him, watching with calm eyes.
"Why are they taking so long?" he growled temperamentally, pacing as he spoke. "Medicine cats always take their sweet time!"
"Be calm," Lavenderstar murmured, glancing behind her where Ravenstar was padding away. "We cannot control everything. You know that very well."
"Don't take their side, mouse-brain! They wouldn't even sit vigil for you. What a pathetic way to claim to serve StarClan! One cat commits the ultimate betrayal right under her clanmate's noses, and the other follows in her footsteps as a rude galoot who blames his leader for her own death! Maybe if he had been a better medicine cat-"
"Enough," Lavenderstar said sharply, violet eyes glimmering with a warning glare. "We both know what lies in store for Hauntedheart! She made her mistakes knowingly and willingly. All we can do is watch over her and try to warn her when we can. We have no more control over her than the tides have against the moon, and she likewise! And Rabbitfoot has been suffering as well. It is not easy when you suspect your former mentor of something so...and to fear that it is true."
[She looked away, narrowing her eyes. Swampstar grunted at her, turning back around.]
"Tch, you pity them. Well, at least you understand Hauntedheart is driving herself into her own hole. I just hope Foxfur-or, rather, star- will do the right thing when the time comes.
I'm more worried about that worm that's wiggled his way back into the Clan. What a curse! We warned them of it. Even when he became leader, I was against it! But they thought he could do no harm. Maybe the healing light will burn him. Hah! He made away with the lives like a fox snatches a fish from a bear. And look at him, he's back for more. Even if his goal is not our destruction, he is harming our Clanmates, and we have to warn them! We could banish him from the other cats, but that one has allowed him to latch on. We must get his grip loosened if we can ever hope to get him away again! Leopardstorm did well by banishing him back to his hole of a home, but he worms his way out time after time. Pah!"

"We have made our mistakes with it," Lavenderstar agreed, "but we finally have it right. As soon as we dispatch him from the host, he can't get back out again. He might even leave us alone. Psyche did us a great favor-that herb she used left us with one last chance. Perhaps we can defeat him once and for all and rid the blood of the curse."
"Demons!" a white she-cat hissed, emerging from the starry grounds with a hateful glint in her eyes. "They should not exist, but so much evil pools like tar and bubbles to the surface. What with the Order meddling in Forsaken and Blood coming from that murderer...and to think they both stuck to NightClan like bees to honey! NightClan must have the worst luck."
"Shut it, Snowstar," Swampstar hissed, lashing his tail. "Forsaken is only here because of that she-cat, Puresun. Otherwise he'd likely leave on his own to wander somewhere else, especially after the truth was revealed to him. He has no more purpose here except for her. He's not even a legitimate demon, just some experiment gone wrong. Meddling with the spirit world. His very existence proves what we fear! At least NightClan still survives despite the two vermin. StormClan would crumble after dealing with half of either of them!"
Snowstar spat at him, fur rising, and he hissed in response, eyes glowing.
"Stop it this instance!" a voice rang over them as a she-cat walked up to them. "Fighting amongst ourselves will do nothing. You should not let such earthly emotions reach you here. We are in StarClan, remember that. Our only duty is to guide those who live. And guide them we shall. Now, our top priority is seeing what we can do about the demons. We ALL know what is coming for Forsaken. The situation will resolve itself without our intervention, so arguing about him is useless. Instead, we must rid the dirty leech from our home and defeat him once and for all."
Swampstar sniffed, growling, Wise words, Willowstar. So be it. NightClan cannot help being given the darkest lands yet again! Riddled with disease and dark creatures...NightClan has proven over and over that it is stronger than any other Clan..."

"Quit your mumbling, they are coming," Lavenderstar warned, standing. "We mustn't allow them to see us like this. No more arguing-it gets us nowhere. We need, now more than ever, to work together! We are StarClan, and regardless of previous Clan orientation, we know what happens to all the Clans and we will guide them as a whole! On top of it all, there is that great ominous prophecy to come. We must, above all, prepare them for THAT."
[The leaders nodded, agreeing silently, and split off, some remaining where they were and others traveling forward to meet the medicine cats.]

(( btw, no med cat can see/hear this...)]

Greetings Rabbitfoot. How is Nightclan?" [I tilted my head to the side as I took a seat a mouse-length away from him, my tail wrapping over my paws for comfort. My head constantly turned behind me for Fadinghorizon to appear. She was being slow, which irritated me little. The moon shone brightly in the sky, mirrored by the shimmering crystal pool in front of the cats, stars reflected in shimmering celestial shapes. My heart and soul felt at peace amongst the special grounds that Starclan used to communicate with them. ]

[Rabbitfoot's naturally bristling pelt prickled slightly the longer he sat in the clearing. It almost felt as if the whole place was alive and he were among a crowd of cats. He blinked. A vague thought crossed his mind, saying that it could very possibly well be StarClan. He shrugged slightly though, not particularly caring.

The soft voice of a she-cat made Rabbitfoot look up, staring stoicly at the new appearance. He nodded curtly, only half-listening to Moonblaze's excuse. His ears twitched slightly. Kits.... His eyes narrowed tiredly at just the word. He blinked, shaking his head slightly.]
"Kits....don't say that word,"
[he grumbled, closing his eyes for a long moment. He continued, not opening his eyes.]
"I have had to deal with quite enough deliveries these past three moons,"
[the medicine cat sighed. There had been four new litters within the past three moons alone. Wailing, squealing, troublesome kits; if he hadn't liked them before, he definitely didn't now. The impatient apprentice had long grown annoyed with kits.

Rabbitfoot opened his eyes when the StormClan medicine cat asked how NightClan had been faring. He was half-tempted not to answer; sharing such information with anyone could be dangerous. Their leader had just died for StarClan's sake; any smart leader would seize the opportunity to fight over land near borders that probably had little to no value to any Clan. Yes, very dangerous. Despite those thoughts, Rabbitfoot decided to reply anyway, a nauseated sigh hissing through his teeth. Even he knew there were limits.]
"I've had ta tend to a greencough patient for almost a moon 'n a half, so I probably won't be able to get the stench out of my pelt for a moon now,"
[he growled. The claws in his good paw unsheathed and resheathed themselves as he sat there for a moment broodingly. It was true; Hauntedheart had made him of all cats tend to her almost the whole time the leader had been sick. He scoffed.]

No wonder she died,

[he thought bitterly. Who would trust their apprentice to take care of such an important cat? Wasn't it kind of irresponsible? He shook his head slightly, looking at Moonblaze as he continued.]
"Lavenderstar joined StarClan this morning, and so did Tigerfang's newborn kit, but we don't know what happened to her kit; it he just died,"
[he meowed, looking down at his paws for a moment. After a few moments of shuffling his paws, he stood up, beginning to pad toward the Moonpool. He turned his head around to look back at the white medicine cat.]
"I wouldn't slip that morsel of information to ol' Silverstar if I were you though; keep it in the back of your mind that NightClan is strong as ever,"
[he warned with obvious distrust before he flashed her a grin, his expression dark. He turned around once more, limping away with a flick of his tail. He stopped about a foxlength away from the pool, staring at the reflection of the moon once more. He didn't care that a medicine cat's opinions weren't supposed to be influenced by Clan conflict, it just wasn't safe to spill that information to just anybody. One had to remember that they were still apart of enemy Clans. He stared at the moon's pale reflection intently, his bristly tail twitching behind him as he waited for StormClan's other medicine cat to arrive so they could start.]

Kits are a blessing and will be troublesome. But it's something every medicine cat must deal with. What did you suspect from being a medicine cat? It isn't as easy as a stroll through camp Rabbitfoot." [I angled my snowy ears towards him while listening to the young medicine cat continue with some... dreadful news. With understanding warm eyes, I waited for the Nightclan tom to finish before putting my input.] "I'm so sorry for your losses. The parents must be devastated.. and Lavenderstar... A great leader when I was a new medicine cat.... her kits must feel great sorrow... she was quite the leader and mother.... They are truly of the ranks of Starclan, at peace and watching your clan. Besides, our leader will find out anyways in the next gathering. Rabbitfoot, I never doubted Nightclan's strength.... Foxfur will be a great leader for all to envy." [I finished, my gaze travelling to where medicine cats usually entered into the clearing of the Moonpool... I hoped Fadinghorizon would arrive soon. I hissed softly with frustration, tail twitching with white emphasis.] "Ugggh... where is Fadinghorizon?"

[The NightClan she-cat padded slowly up to Moonpool and dipped her head at Moonblaze before gazing up at the stars. It was good to be out of camp and outside. She flicked her tail and turned her head as a familiar scent met her nose. Fadinghorizon trotted over to the group, her head lowered slightly. She couldn't believe she was late, she must have made Moonblaze look like a fool. She caught sight of Hauntedheart and smiled warmly at her friend. Over the past nine moons she had devloped a strong friendship with the NightClan medicine cat and looked forward to seeing her at the medicine cat gatherings. She turned toward her mentor and smiled shyly.]
"I'm sorry I'm late," she mewed and flicked her tail.

[Hauntedheart stared at her daughter fondly but was careful to hide her emotions. No one could know how much she cared for the StormClan she-cat, not even Fadinghorizon. To everyone else, they were simply friends and that was okay with Hauntedheart. Noticing that everyone was here now, the she-cat coughed, trying to get the others' attention.]
"I believe we are all here so let us begin," she mewed calmly, her eyes glancing around at the other medicine cats and lingering on Fadinghorizon.

[Hauntedheart nodded and padded over to the pool, she glanced to her side as Fadinghorizon came to a stop between her and Moonblaze. The NightClan medicine cat nodded to her daughter before touching he rnose to the clear water and settling down. she let out a sigh and closed her eyes, waiting for sleep to overcome her. She hoped to see Foxclaw and Whitekit since she hadn't heard from them since the Gathering. However, StarClan probably had other ideas in mind. The medicine cat relaxed as she soon fell asleep beside the pool.

Fadinghorizon glanced at her mentor and smiled. She had loved having Moonblaze as a mentor and valued her wisdom and strength. She wasn't sure what StormClan would do if something ever happened to the white she-cat. Though the young she-cat still knew that her fellow medicine cat still had many, many moons of life left. She crouched down beside the pool and touched the water softly. She kept her blue eyes open for a few seconds before closing them and allowing herself to drift off into sleep.]

Moonblaze

Medicine Cat of Stormclan

[With a final nod, I padded gracefully next to my former apprentice, eyes locked with the still star kissed pool before me. I slowly crouched down into a somewhat comfortable position... my lowered my head as my pink tongue touched icy cold water. I began to fall into a deep sleep... ready to speak with my precious ancestors. My eyes slowly closed, the last thing I saw in reality was the ripple of crystal water meeting my presence with a serene sparkle.]

[The corner of the dark brown tabby's eye twitched at what the StormClan cat medicine cat said. He still stared out at the reflection of the moon playing across the lightly rippling pool of water. He closed his eyes quietly, feeling his fur rise. Tension buzzed in the air in a way much like the air outside at the start of a thunderstorm; a sense of urgency. He blinked, looking up at the sky. What did they want to say? What was it?

Rabbitfoot blinked, turning around when Fadinghorizon entered. He narrowed his eyes, giving a snort of contempt. It was about time. Rather than waste his breath with giving the she-cat a snarky reply, he bent forward, quickly lapping up some of the mystical pool water. A somewhat mysterious feeling surged through him as the slightly lukewarm water went down his throat. The water itself didn't taste exactly wonderful, but somehow it still managed to make his eyelids droop. He sighed, laying down quietly about a tail length away from the pool, in case he accidentally moved around in his sleep and fell in. He was already out even before he finished curling up.]

Painted souls that streak the sky

StarClan

[Sleep engulfed the medicine cats quickly, dragging them down with rushed speed. The Clans had much more time before everything befell them, but still, StarClan was anxious.
If things were as the starry cats suspected, this could rival the disastrous potency of the Slayers, if not exceed it.
Time was not of the essence, per say, but something was. Something the spirits could not define, but they knew it was extremely important. This very important thing was on the line, laying on the brink of a cliff. They felt the desperation of what would happen if this very important thing fell beyond their grasp, forever lost in the unknown oblivion of chaos.
Perhaps they were overreacting, but it was a simple truth-

the unknown is feared.

In Moonblaze and Fadinghorizon's dreams, they were plunged into inky darkness. They could not yet see one another for the darkness was thick and pressed upon their fur like a heavy fog, smothering their eyes in silence and nothingness. But scent was there, and they could smell one another, the only two creatures in the darkness.
There was a smell of dew and fresh grass growing.
All at once, a light could be seen above them, dimly glowing through the harsh darkness..
The shining thing slowly approached them, sinking downards towards them as bubbles flowed from under it and fled towards the surface as if it was immersed in water, but they could see now they were on dry land.
As the shining thing approached, it resembled a glittering star, swirling and sparkling with a thousand colors at once, an iridescent glow about it that was breathtaking. It levitated as it reached the ground, almost hesitating, before gently touching the ground and resting there.
The glow faded, revealing a shiny white stone, slightly translucent and looking as if it was made of glass.
"What is it you seek?" a voice whispered to the two medicine cats. "Touch me and do speak."

[It almost sounded as if the voice came from the stone.
A feeling came over the two cats of desperate desire, stronger than any feeling they'd known before.]

(( Basically, it's asking them to make a wish. So...make a wish upon the stone concerning your character's deepest and secret desires. :3 ))

[In Hauntedheart's mind, she was in a swamp, the swamplands of her home. NightClan.
The air was crisp and clear, chilly at best. But there was an air of tension that crackled vibrantly.
Suddenly, a calico she-cat padded straight through Hauntedheart, phasing through her as if she was made of smoke. The she-cat was instantly recognizable with her flattened ears and stubby legs as she scuttled along the swamp, gasping. Her belly was bulging and trembling.
She finally collapsed at a dry patch, hissing in pain but holding her cries down so she would not be found. Wind blew viciously across Hauntedheart's vision, forcing her to turn away for a moment. When she looked back, the she-cat was surrounded by tiny bundles of fur.
And there was a black shadow next to her, its crimson eyes looking down worriedly at her.
"Promise me, Forsaken," she whispered, pain caught in her throat. "Promise me they'll be safe."
"I promise," he whispered, then stood, urging the kittens forward. They cried in protest, turning to try and follow their mother, but she stood and turned away, pain etched into her flat face.
"Go on, loves. You will find a better place. Live and be happy. Be happy..."
The darkly shaded cat left with the she-cat's kittens. She stood there, transfixed to the spot and trembling.
Hauntedheart was suddenly exposed to the raw emotion coming from the she-cat, pain radiating off of her in waves. She stood there for a long time, quivering and shattered, before slowly padding back to camp.
"She gave up her children for her Clan," a voice said sharply behind Hauntedheart. "Gave up everything for her Clan. What happened to her could have been avoided, but it was not her fault. It was not in her paws."
It was Lavenderstar, late leader of NightClan. She stared at Hauntedheart with glittering purple eyes, an unreadable expression on her face. "She knew she could not endanger herself, her Clan, or her kittens in order to be with them. So she sacrificed her happiness for theirs. I regret that I never knew the pain she felt. My daughter...so alone. Without anyone who could possibly understand."
Lavenderstar gave Hauntedheart a hard look and continued abruptly, "I do not care what you think of me. This is not about you and me. It is about you and Cinderwing. You know what you are doing and you know well that it is wrong. You have proven to StarClan to whom your real loyalties lie.
But you must know whose safety is at stake here. Not just yours-your kittens.
Take Puresun as an example, Hauntedheart. Remember the pain, the agony. The guilt. You will know these for many more moons to come. When it comes time to make the right decision, you must make it. Even StarClan cannot help you there.
You are hardly a true medicine cat anymore, and it is such a shame. Your own bitterness drove you into more sorrow."
Lavenderstar looked at her with true compassion and worry before lowering her head. "I cannot help you. None of us can. Make the right choice."
Then she began to walk away, stars glittering in her paws as she left.]

[In Rabbitfoot's mind, he was in the NightClan camp, which was bustling with activity. Warriors phased through him as if he was a ghost. Orders were being spoken by Foxfur, who flicked his tail and quickly padded away with a patrol. Cats were entering with prey, apprentices training, the normal whirlwind of Clan life.
However, a kitten was sitting in the middle of camp, seemingly as unseen by the other warriors as Rabbitfoot was. All other noise hummed into a soft, distant thrum, almost lowering as all attention was focused on the kitten, whose back was to Rabbitfoot.
"Who are you?" the kitten seemed to ask someone in front of him, whom Rabbitfoot could not see.
"I am an angel." a voice hissed.
"What's that?"
"Are you the greatest warrior in all the Clans?"
The kitten jumped to his feed, exclaiming, "Yes! Yes I am!"
"Then I am your angel. I can help you become everything you've ever wanted. Just...let me inside."
"Inside where?"
"Insiiiideee...do I have your permission to come inside?"
"Yah, sure!"
"Excellent."
Then the kitten froze, his fur sticking up. There was a sharp hissing sound, and after a while the kitten relaxed and exclaimed, "That hurt!"
"It only hurt for a while, my friend. Now it will not hurt. Never hurt again."
"Oh, okay. What did you do?"
"I'm inside you now."
"What? Where?"
"In your head."
"Really? Why?"
"We are closer that way. I can help you better this way."
"Oh, cool! Say, what kind of angel are you, anyway?"
There was silence now, a silence filled with something very bad. Then the kit finally turned, facing Rabbitfoot. His face was smeared with blood, and blood dripped down his muzzle and onto his chest. He looked as if he had just ripped someone's throat out.
It was Sacredkit.
"Angel of death. Cool."
The kit slowly walked forward, eyes locked on Rabbitfoot, who was rooted to the ground, unable to move. As the kit walked, the camp around them whirled at an impossible speed, silhouettes of cats racing by in mere seconds. The sun above them dipped away, replaced by the moon, which then was replaced by the sun in a matter of moments. Then the sun and moon swirled so fast they were a ring of blurred movement, flying through the sky like fire.
Sacredkit walked towards Rabbitfoot as this happened, swiftly growing at the same pace of the time flying by around them. He grew into an aprentice and then a warrior, his bones and muscles shifting quickly to accommodate the pace of change. As he moved, his claws became smeared with blood, and then his flanks, and then his legs. Scars began to rip themselves into his fur, momentos of bloody battles.
"I am the strongest warrior in all the Clans," Sacredkit, now full warrior, breathed. "Stronger than you. Stronger than StarClan! Nobody can defeat me!"
The swirling movement around them stopped abruptly, nighttime peeking down upon them. There was a stench of blood in the air.
He lunged forward, pinning Rabbitfoot to the ground. All around them, bodies were laying, their throats ripped out of them. Foxfur. Puresun. Sungaze. Rainblast. Even cats from other Clans-Siegefury, Traplflight, Firerain, Dragonfire, Ravenwing, Dawnsky, Burrpelt.
Before Rabbitfoot could react, warrior-Sacredkit roared, "I am the angel of death!" before sinking his fangs into Rabbitfoot's throat, ripping mercilessly at it as blood flowed freely.
And then suddenly Rabbitfoot was sitting in a clearing in the sunlight, a peaceful clearing that smelled of flowers and sunshine.
As if nothing happened.
In front of him was a jet black tom with smoking brown eyes who watched him with almost an arrogant look. He twitched his tail, stars sparkling softly in his pelt, but said nothing, as if waiting for him to speak.]

((Sorry for OOC, I'll delete this later.
@Timber: It's 10:30 at night, I'm alone in a dark hotel room, the whole floor is ominously quiet...and Sacredkit just scared the crap out of me ;A;
