Hey everyone, how about you stop hating on America? Not everybody in the country is bad and I am sure there are people who don't want this to go down. That there is a group fighting it should be evidence enough. Can't we all just be internet users defending something instead of turning this into some kind of war against the gubment and America? I am sure there are secretly gubment officials who download music and look up weird s**t too, they will think of some excuse to stop this from going down. XD

See? I told you guys that there's no point in signing a petition against something we don't even know about. :I That bill got passed. It targets pirates, and pirates only. They deserve it. I would know, I pirate things too, it sucks, but it doesn't directly and negatively affect anyone. The U.S court system will just try to shut down the site. It's the freaking internet though. s**t will get out if people want it badly enough. Not just regular pirating sites, like with torrents. Websites that sell fake brand stuff too, like, pirated items, not just media. Of course, there is this as well, but most certainly from the backlash of the internet. :U Quote: The bill was modified to address some concerns that critics raised. One provision was struck out that would have allowed the Justice Department to publish a "blacklist" of domain names that provide access to websites touting counterfeit or pirated goods, even if it did not seek a court order against them. 
EDIT: I love how using the quote button ******** my post up like this, so I'm gonna leave it, although this isn't me being smug or anything. This really does suck. I don't like having to pay for old movies.

Well, true.
When you got Disney behind your bill, it's gonna get passed.
Anyways, a country leader will act accordingly to how and what he/she thinks is best. So, I doubt this will last long after Obama anyways. But like I said, this doesn't affect Canada, but i don't think we have any piracy sites anyways.
And any president would be impeached if they tried to ban the legal areas of the internet.
Like how Stephen Harper was/is trying to illegalize gay marriage or something like that.
