Arian kicked a stone, the jade-haired unicorn boy feeling bored. He had sneaked out quietly because he'd accidentally spilt ink on the book that Uncle Kori had left in the living room and wanted to find somewhere to hide before the other found out.

Uncle Kori was a grump - he always seemed to be in a bad mood and he didn't like it when Arian called him Uncle. Mummy had said that they had to be nice to him though as the place where they were staying was his place and not Mummy's.

Enikil
Aikori was sitting on a park bench alone, he'd snuck out of the house while Enikil was sleepign up in his room. He clicked his little green legs back and fourth, staring at the ground as childish fingers curled around the edge of the bench. He didn't seem very happy as he sat there, thinking over about what had happened a few minuets ago.

"Aikori... Aikori where are you? Its dinner time" Aikori heard Enikil call out to him where he sat in the livingroom. He was hiding out in there since the red head had his boyfriend over, or his hopeful boyfriend. They just seemed to be good friends right now, but he knew the the white haired guy wanted to go out with him.

"Comming!" Aikori called and got up and headed towards the kitchen. When he walked in, he frowned when he saw The white haired guy had Enikil cornered against the counter, talking in hushed tones. Enikil was blushing like crazy and Aikori growled softly. The green lanturn ran up and swiftly kicked the white haired guy in the knee shouting, "DON'T TOUCH HIM!!"

"I bet Enikil is so mad at me...." He whispered softly, his eyes sad.

kaze1981
Arian paused as he caught sight of a green little boy sitting on a park bench up ahead, emerald eyes blinking in surprise. He hadn't really expected anyone else to be here in the park at this time of day, but at least he wasn't Uncle Kori.

"Hi" he called out.

Enikil
The little green lanturn looked up fron the ground ant blinked softly. It was another lanturn... but a higher level then he was. He kind of hoped the other wouldn't try and absorb him or anything. Though he was pretty sure he was a high enough level that he couldn't. "

"Uh... hello..."

kaze1981
Arian blinked hesitantly at the less than enthusiastic-sounding response. O-kay. The unicorn boy wondered if the little boy was grumpy too, he didn't seem grumpy the way Uncle Kori was grumpy though.

"Are you bored too? Is that way you're sitting out here on your own?" Arian asked at last.

Probably not the most tactful question to ask, but talking was better than being bored - well at least as long as the boy didnt turn out to be grumpy.

Enikil
"I'm not bored.... just really upset is all..." He said softly, looking down at his hands. Aikori sounded upset and looked upset, he just wasn't in a very good mood. He twirled his finger in his gren hair and chewed on his lip softly.

" The one who takes care of me.... he's going to be so mad at me... I did something really bad... and now he's going to be angery with me.." He sniffed softly, still looking down as he wiped at his eyes. "He's probably going to want to give me away.... I'm such a bad little lanturn..."

kaze1981
"Do you mean bad like ruining something that belongs to someone else bad?" Arian peered at the boy curiously. "Or really bad like jumping on the bed or stealing cookies bad?" Arian didn't understand the boy's comment about being given away. Wasn't being given away bad too?

Enikil
"No... worse then all of those.." Aikori sniffed softly, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. He knew what he had done was wrong, but he was so mad at the white haired guy... Cloud was his name he thought. " I... I got mad and kicked Enikil's boyfriend in the knee then ran away... I was so mad.. he was going to kiss him or something and I didn't want that!"

kaze1981
Arian blinked at the boy "Why would kissing be bad? Mummy kisses me on the top of the head sometimes before I go to sleep, I don't mind though cause it feels nice." He tilted his head to the side somewhat confused.

Enikil
"becuase... I don't like the guy that was going to kiss Enikil! Cloud is bad news!" He said softly, rubbing at his eyes again, not looking up. He was glad his hair was covering his face, he didn't want the older lanturn to see his face. "

kaze1981
"Bad news sounds like not good" Arian said finally. "Is he bad news because he's scary". He knew scary - Uncle Kori's byfriend was scary - he even scared Mummy, although.. He didn't seem to scare Uncle Kori.

"Uncle Kori's friend that's a boy is scary" he said at last. "He doesn't like me, but Mummy says he doesn't like anyone."

he added "I'm hiding from Uncle Kori as he's going to be mad at me"

Enikil
"I... I don't know what it is.... I just don't like him..." Aikori said softly, wipping his eyes a bit more before wiping his nose a tiny bit. He listened to the unicorn boy and looked up at him with tear streaked cheeks. "Your in trouble too? What did you do?" He aksed softly, wipiing at his cheeks softly. It felt nice that someone understood how he was feeling sort of right now.

kaze1981
Arian ducked his head slightly. "I was bored so I was kind of making towers with some of Mummy's things, but then I accidentally knocked it over and the ink ruined Uncle Kori's books. I didn't mean too though" he looked earnestly at the boy. "Uncle Kori will sill be angry though when he finds out, so I've decided I'm going to hide.. At least until Mummy wakes up." He finished decisively.

Alex Mustang
Gokiloud walked in slowly. His ears shifted about as he could hear that there were others about. He could tell one was Aikori who he was very familiar with and then there was a different. He stood behind Aikori and said "Hello Aikori."

Enikil
"Uh oh.. well at least your mommy will make sure he doesnt get to mad at you.... Enikil is going to be mad and disappointed with me for kicking CLoud... I.. I just couldn't help it... Yours was an accident where I did mine on purpose.." He replied then sniffed sadly again.

Aikor froze when he heard his name behind him, looking to see it was Gokiloud. " Oh.. uh hi Gokiloud" He said, flushing a tinge of dark green on his cheeks as he tired to wipe the tears from his eyes and cheeks quickly. He didn't want anyone else to see him cry.

Alex Mustang
"How are you Aikori?" he said with a smile. "Sorry for sneaking up on you." Gokiloud was a bit bored and was trying to be sneaking like a Phatom. He found it a bit fun. "Has it been active at all today or umm...are we three the only ones hear."His attention then turned to the new lanturn. 'Hello I am Gokiloud."

kaze1981
"Uncle Kori won't care that it was an accident, just that I did it at all. I don't think he likes me - but Mummy says that Kori hates almost evryone and everything - even the postman hates him so we don't get any post - that or we don't get any post because his friend who's a boy scared him away."

He sighed "Uncle Kori is a big meanie some..." He blinked startled as a yellow boy appeared from behind the bench, then gave the green boy a smile "But I guess I'd better get back anyway, before Mummy starts to worry - that is if she's awake.

He gave the yellow boy a friendly smile before starting to head back home, pausing briefly he looked back at both boys "My name's Arian by the way." Then he turned back and continued on.

Enikil
Aikori looked to Arian and waved to the unicorn boy with a small smile. " I'm AIkori! Bye! Telll your mummy I say hi!" He waved and watche dhim disappear. He turned his eyes back to Gokiloud and smiled softly. " You bored too huh? Arian was too... I'm just hiding out" He said softly, leaning back on the bench. "How is Alex?" He asked the yellow boy softly.

++ [ Entry 16 - self roleplay ] ++

Arian knocked on the apartment door nervously hoping that this wouldn't be the day that Uncle Kori decided to open the door for once.

Usually he didn't, usually Mummy did - Uncle Kori didn't seem to like to talk to people much.

Personally the unicorn boy didn't think Uncle Kori liked doing anything much. He was always grumpy - always being mean... He was even mean to Mummy, although she was nice about it - she never seemed to mind any way, although she'd once told him that he wasn't so bad any more...

"Arian is that you?" Kaze blinked sleepily down at him, her feathered headwings fluttering slightly and her eyes looking slightly owlish behind her glasses. "Why didn't you just let yourself in - I know you have a..."

"Where is the brat, is he back?"

Kori's cold voice behind her made Kaze jump, the half sprite turning with a sigh to look up at the fallen angel but not before beckoning Arian in. "Yes, he just got back... Why?"

"Because." Kori's voice was calm - too calm "I'm going to kill him that's why."

Arian's dejected voice spoke behind them, the unicorn boy sounding miserable "I didn't mean to - it was an accident. I didn't mean for..."

Kori glared at him, the cold look cutting off any more words that the unicorn boy might have uttered. "I don't care you little brat" the fallen angel's voice sounded furious. "You're still dead."

Kaze found herself sighing and trying not to rub her head. I don't need this... She found herself whinging to herself silently. Looking from one to the other she asked "Just what is going on?"

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

The better part of an hour and several more death threats from Kori later Kaze felt that she had gotten the jist of the story. She also had one hell of a headache.

Arian was looking even more dejected and his ears and tail were drooping heavily whereas Kori... I'm not sure I've ever seen Kori so angry...

Obviously the book had really meant something to the fallen angel for him to be this angry, maybe been something precious to him - although with out asking Kori it was hard to tell and somehow the half sprite doubted it would be a good idea right now to ask - not with Kori in the mood he was in.

With a sigh she looked from one to the other and chose her words carefully.

"Kori, obviously I am not going to let you kill Arian" her silver eyes were chill. "You know full well he's under my protection and what that means" she raised a hand to cut the fallen angel off before he could say anything. "And no that does not mean that I will let you leave him with Mitsukune either - however..." And here she transferred a stern look to Arian "That does not mean he will go unpunished for damaging your book.. I think the rest of the day in his room, early bed and no treats will suffice... Don't you?"

Kori looked at her with a glare before gently scooping up the ruined book "It will suffice" he said at last. "Just keep the brat out of my way" he added before stalking off to his room.

Kaze gave a sigh of relief when she heard Kori's door slam. From experience she doubted that they'd see the fallen angel for the rest of the day, although she'd probably slip a plate of food by his door as a sort of peace offering later - well that and she secretly figured that Kori really ought to eat more.

Now all I need is some willowbark for my head and...

Her thoughts were interrupted by a sniffle from Arian who had been being uncharacteristically silent.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

Arian sniffled trying to stop the tears pouring down his face like some baby, his tail trailing dejectedly on the ground. He hadn't meant to hurt Uncle Kori's book - he hadn't even seen it! Well not until he'd seen black ink dripping over it and soaking into the pages and then he'd felt that he'd better make himself scarce...

But Uncle Kori had been angry.. Really angry... Scarily angry! And now Mummy was angry with him too and.. And...

"I didn't meant to!" He sniffled out loud.

Kaze couldn't cope any longer - she hated seeing people upset - especially children and something about seeing Arian look so miserable and dejected made her feel miserable too.

"I know it was an accident" Gently she folded the unicorn boy into a hug. "But you've got to be more careful - that book was precious to Kori - that's why he was so upset.. It'd be like if something happened to your" she tried to think of something and finally settled on. "If something happened to your lantern you'd be upset too wouldn't you."

Arian nodded still sniffling "Yes" he said quietly.

Kaze kept hugging Arian "Well think of Kori's book as being like your lantern" she said.

"Ok." Came the quiet response, followed by the equally quiet. "Do you hate me Mummy?"

Kaze's grey eyes widened in shock "I.. Where did..." Pulling away slightly so she could see Arian she told him "I could never hate you!" She hugged the unicorn boy fiercely. "Never."

Arian squirmed a little "But you're upset with me."

Kaze let him go "I'm more upset that you could think I hate you" she told the unicorn boy. "What made you think that anyway."

"Because I broke Uncle Kori's book and made him angry and..."

"That doesn't mean I hate you" Kaze told Arian firmly. "Disappointed yes - You know I've told you to be careful of his things.. But being disappointed or angry with someone doesn't mean that you hate them."

"Really?" Arian's voice sounded hopeful.

"Really" Kaze's voice was still firm. "However you're still going to spend the rest of the day in your room" she told the unicorn boy sternly. "And no treats either - so that means no brownies and icecream for dessert tonight."

She ignored Arian's pout at that. "But.. And this is a but - if you're good then I'll let you go down to the lantern shop in a couple of days."

"Really?"

Kaze laughed "Yes really. Now off to your room with you - I don't want to see you before dinner and remember it's early to bed for you tonight!"

Arian pouted "Ok" he said reluctantly before doing just that.

Waiting until he too was out of sight Kaze sighed again - now she really needed that willowbark tea.

KaleidoscopeGrl
Kalena finally had an evening where she was home before dinner time. It was clear outside, so she changed out of her suit and slipped into a blue jean skirt of jeans and a chunky teal sweater. It had been a couple of weeks since she brought Rhydion home, so she figured it was time to take him for a little walk.

"It's a gorgeous evening, Rhydion," Kalena said as she slipped on her black, leather boots. "Want to go get some fresh air that isn't just on the balcony?"

Rhydion flickered happily. Kalena felt horrible for not taking him out sooner, but between classes and the administrative paperwork she had beem swimming in, it couldn't be helped. Putting on her coat, she took her purse in one hand, and Rhydion in the other. Her pups, Beans & Zorro, sat at the threshold as Kalena bid them good night.

"You two are in charge!" Kalena said with a smile. "Rhyd, let's see if we can find others like you!"

Taking the map from her purse, Kalena and Rhydion set out for the shopping district where they first met. Toward the Soul Emporium.

Erina_Nobara
Eri sat on the big, comfy couch she'd been using the first time she had decided to stay in the shop where she'd first acquired 'Mocha'. She'd lounge about and wait for perhaps another 'owner' to show up. It'd be nice to meet some new people, and it was good to be getting out of the house.

Mocha rested in Erin's lap, flickering energetically while Eri pondered. "You know, I wonder if I could teach you morse code....ya know? Until you 'changed'."

The light in the lanturn grew brighter in response.

"Yes....that WOULD be interesting...."

kaze1981
The bell jangled as the door to the shop was pushed open, bright emerald eyes peering in curiously at the shop. one hand curled gently around a jade green lantern. The owner of the eyes, a jade-haired unicorn boy was holding a pale jade coloured lantern carefully in his right hand, his tail twitching somewaht as he stared in fascination at the many lanterns on display. "Oh wow..."

KaleidoscopeGrl
Kalena found the shop once again, full of new laturns looking for homes. She opened the door and looked around. There were some new faces that she hadn't seen before, and if she had seen them prior, she hadn't met them personally.

"Hello there," Kalena said, calling out to the shop customers. "How is everyone this lovely evening?"

She looked around a younger woman and a unicorn boy. 'How fantastic!' the thought.

She made her way to the couch with Rhydion. He flickered happily seeing another lanturn.

"May I sit here?" Kalena asked.

Erina_Nobara
"Oh yes of course," Eri said with a smile, patting the empty space next to her. "Be my guest."

Mocha shone brightly as he sensed two other lanturns close by.

"Oh my. Who do we have here?" Eri asked, eyeing the unicorn-being with awe. "Are you a manifested spirit? You're so handsome." <333

kaze1981
Arian blinked, emerald eyes turning to focus on the lady speaking to him. She'd come into the shop behind him and was holding a lantern too. "Hi" he said peering at the lantern she was carrying with undisguised curiosity as she made her way over to the couch where another woman was sitting. "I'm ok... I"

His attention was distracted as the lady on the couch spoke up, his eyes drawn to her brightly glowing lantern. "I'm Arian" he told the sitting lady. "And yes I'm a spirit, but I've not been out too long." he wrinkled his nose slightly "I like being out though since there's lots to see out here. Uncle Kori says I ask too many questions though."

KaleidoscopeGrl
Kalena looked at the unicorn boy with a warm smile, as she took her seat. She thanked, the young woman. Kalena was surprised to see Rhydion flickering so happily.

"My! My, Rhydion! I haven't seen you this happy in days. Have you made a new friend?" Kalena said a bit surprised. Turning her attention to the conversation, the words 'manifested spirit' caught her attention. The unicorn boy was maginificent, indeed.

"It's nice to meet you both. My name's Kalena Scope. I'm a local high school English teacher," she said with a warm, older sisterly smile. "This here, is Rhydion. From the looks of it, he's very happy to meet you, too. May I ask a question? I am little new at this. What is a manifested spirit?"

Hakari-chan
Hearing voices from the lounge in the front of the shop, Toshi poked her head in through a door marked 'Employees only' that led to the back of the shop. Her bright majenta eyes lit up in surprise at all the people there. Even another spirit as big as herself. Suddenly excited, the magenta and pink themed girl rushed out of the back and ran forward to the group of women and Arian, smiling brightly. She bowed in welcome, just the way Hakari had taught her to.
"Welcome to Soul Emporium, my name is Toshi, how may I be of assistance?" She asked with a smile as she stood up straight once more, wild magenta hair falling back into place and framing her pretty face.

Erina_Nobara
"Oh? I was told that these lanturns house the spirits of the deceased. Once manifested, they take on a 'human-like' appearence. It's amazing I must say."

Mocha seemed very excited at this, and began blinking in a crazy, almost blinding manner.

"Goodness! Calm down! I can't lose my sight just yet. I'm not that old. Heh. Anyway, it's nice to meet you Ms. Kalena. My name is Eri, and this is Mocha. I'm a gardener and errr...a wish granter of sorts."

Suddenly a flurry of pink caught Eri's attention. "Oh my another spirit I presume? Wow. Hello, nice to meet you too Toshi."

kaze1981
Arian blinked at the appearance of the pink-haired girl. She looked to be as tall as him and she looked friendly. Arian hadn't really met much people who smiled a lot, Mummy did and so did Uncle Kori's boyfriend - well he sort of smiled a lot and Arian always thought his smile was a little creepy.

The girl didn't look creepy though.

He gave her a smile back, "Hi Toshi, I'm Arian." He blinked at her "Why were you bending over?"

KaleidoscopeGrl
Kalena tried to hide to look of surprise as Eri explained what the lanturns were and what they were capable of. Her laturn, Mocha, was similar to Rydion, but the other two were fantastic! An adorable mangenta haired girl, Toshi, came bounding over from the back. It appeared that she worked here with Miss Hakari, whom Kalena regretfully had only sent a letter to since her last visit. The unicorn boy, Arian, was quite pleasant, too.

"I didn't know that this is what the lanturns were capable of?" Kalena said with a smile. "Rhyd here must think I am crazy. I've been reading fantasy stories to him, and acting them out for practice. I advise my school's drama club. It's nice to meet you, too, Toshi and Arian. Toshi, is Miss Hakari in? I want to thank her for allowing me to take Rhydion home with me."

Hakari-chan
"It's called a bow." Toshi explained to the unicorn boy. "Hakari said it's good to do that to show respect towards customers." The girl said cheerfully, waving one arm towards the ladies he sat by.
She grinned when Arian introduced himself. she already knew who the boy was of course, having watched Potato assemble his lanturn with the help of his adopted son bumby. She had only just started helping out at the shop, so for now she did alot of observing.
When the woman with the pink lanturn voiced her question, the magenta girl shook her head, sending her locks of wild hair flying again.
"It's nice to meet you all, but I'm afraid my keeper isn't in right now. She's currently in France. But Sinn is here if you'd like to talk to him." she said.

Erina_Nobara
"Well sure," Eri grinned, expertly balancing a flickering lanturn in her lap. "I think Mocha would like that too."

kaze1981
Arian tilted his head to one side slightly in interest at Toshi's words. It sounded like bowing was a useful thing to know how to do. Maybe he could..

Opening his mouth to ask Toshi whether or not bending over was all you needed to do he noticed that she was talking to the lady with the pink lantern and so he closed it again. maybe he could try bowing himself in secret - after all bending over wasn't that hard to do.

Belatedly he realised the lady with the pink lantern was speaking to him and he smiled politely at her "Pleased to meet you too Miss.." he wasn't sure what her name was so just settled on 'Miss'.

KaleidoscopeGrl
"Please call me Kalena, Arian. Or 'Lena is fine, too," she said with a broad smile. "My kids at school call me Miss Kalena. Any of them are fine really."

Kalena was jealous to hear that Miss Hakari was off in France, but relieved to hear that Sinn was taking care of the shop in her absense. She remembered the first time she met Sinn, and wondered if he actually enjoyed their first encounter together. She couldn't believe that Rhydion would one day become so lifelike. He wasn't just a fancy home accent. She was concerned, but it meant that she could finally have someone to take care of at home. She wouldn't be so lonely.

"I'd like to see Sinn again, too," Kalena said looking down at Rhydion with a hint of nostalgia. "That is, if he isn't too busy at the moment."

++ [ Entry 18 - self roleplay ] ++

Kaze knocked on the door that had been her room and was now Arian's. "Arian?" she called. "Are you awake?"

"Five more minutes..." Came the sleepy response.

"You said that five minutes ago" Kaze reminded the unicorn boy with a laugh.

"Sleepy..." The word was a slight whine.

Kaze stopped herself from laughing, her grey eyes alight with amusement and a little bit of mischief "That's ok, I guess I'll have to eat the cookies I baked all by myself" she said, before silently starting to count down from ten.

10...

9...

8...

7...

6...

"No wait!" Arian stood sleepy-eyed in the door, a pleading look in his emerald eyes. "I'm up! I'm up - I promise!" The unicorn's messy jade hair looked even more messy and tousled than usual and strands were escaping from his braid. "Where's Uncle Kori?"

Kaze couldn't help laughing at the sight he made, while making a mental note to give Arian a hand combing and rebraiding his hair "Out with Mitsukune, which is what we're going to be doing as soon as you're ready."

Arian gave her a puzzled look "We're going out with Uncle Kori and his friend who's a boy?" Arian hadn't quite got the idea that Kori and Mitsukune were dating, even though Kaze had tried to explain it to him, along with warning the curious unicorn boy to make doubly sure he kept out of Mitsukune's way.

Kaze laughed again "No. No - I meant we're going out too - I thought we could go and get some things to decorate your room." She absently reached out and tousled Arian's hair affectionately. "Kori said he didn't care if you wanted to redecorate it as long as we don't mess up the rest of the apartment."

Arian looked excited at the thought of room decorating, though he gave Kaze a dubious look at the mention of the fact that Uncle Kori had said it was ok.

Kaze sighed "Kori isn't that bad you know Arian, he's just antisocial." At Arian's puzzled look she explained "He doesn't like people much."

Arian considered it "So why's he so mean all the time then?"

Kaze sighed again and ruffled Arian's hair again, ignoring the slight squirming it caused "I don't know" she said at last. "I've never asked him and I'm not going to." She gave Arian a sharp look "Nor do I want you to ask him."

Arian looked puzzled "Why not?" He asked.

"Because there's some questions that shouldn't be asked" Kaze told him seriously. "And if Kori wants to tell us he will." She smiled "Enough of that, hurry up and get ready and then we can go." The smile turned into a grin "And bring a brush or a comb so I can help you neaten your hair a little."

That managed to distract Arian. "I can do it myself" he told Kaze stubbornly.

Kaze laughed, choosing her words carefully so as to soothe over Arian's wounded pride "I know, but two sets of hands are better than one - and if we leave quickly enough we can have a picnic in the park later."

"Really?!" Arian sounded excited.

"Yep" Kaze told him. "Now about that brush..." But Arian was already gone.

Amused the half sprite called after him, "Try the bedside table" before sitting on the sofa to wait.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

Somehow Kaze managed to awkwardly unlock the door, although overladen with packages as she was the half sprite was amazed that they had managed to make it back without dropping or spilling anything.

Not for the first time Kaze wished that she could use her magic more, wished that she wasn't on the run from the Air Court - but using air magic would be even more traceable than using ice magic and she really, really didn't want Mitsukune deciding to pay her a visit to lecture her on stupidity - especially as she had a feeling that a second chat would not go as easily as the first had done.

Instead she struggled to the table and deposited the bag with the fan, paper lanterns and furins carefully on the table along with the bag containing the groceries and finally the bag containing paint pots and painting stuff on the floor.

Arian bounced in behind her somehow juggling both his lantern and a bag with a penguin plushie he'd felt he just had to have.

Nestled carefully in the unicorn boy's hands was a floating tree giving off a strange light. Tiny butterflies already attracted to the silvery star-like flowers.

Smiling at Arian, Kaze had suggested that the unicorn boy put the stuff he was carrying in his room while she put away the groceries, which was mostly made up of raw vegetables for Arian, some baking ingredients for her and some stuff that she could cook which Kori might eat since the half sprite had noticed that the fallen angel seemed to eat more if she stuck a plate outside Kori's door when he was around.

Arian peeked his head out of his room "Done" he told Kaze proudly. "And I've watered my tree and everything so can we go to the park now?"

Kaze blinked - that had been fast.. Faster than she'd expected, still the groceries were away and the painting supplies and everything put away neatly. "Sure" she agreed as she slipped some of the cookies into a bag to take. "Let me just make up a picnic lunch and then when we get back we can decorate your room up. Ok?"

Arian gave her a bright grin in answer.

Arian carefully hung up two out of three furins that he and his his mother had bought earlier, the delicate wind chimes tinking gently as he balanced carefully from a chair.

The unicorn boy was excited to be finally decorating his room with the accesories now that the paint had finally dried, the boring yellow and white paint replaced with silvery-white and blues making his room look much more interesting in Arian's opinion.

Arian was still finding it hard to believe that Uncle Kori had just let Mummy and him redecorate his room - after all Uncle Kori hadn't wanted him here.. Had tried to make him go back into the lantern and go away and if it hadn't been for Mummy Arian felt he would have made him go back even though he never wanted to go back into the lantern ever again!

There was so much to do out here and so many people to see - he'd already met Aikori and a yellow spirit whose name he couldn't rememer. He'd also met a pink-haired spirit who was as big as him and did the funny bending over thing and two ladies when he'd gone to visit the shop.

He frowned, one of them had been called Kalene something.. Or was it Kalena? He'd only seen her the once, although he hadn't been back to the shop since that day so maybe that was why... He did remember her having a pink lantern called Rhydion though - he remembered it because Rhydion was such a pretty name and he'd wondered what it meant but hadn't gotten round to asking.

He'd thought the other lady had called herself Eri and remembered that she had a lantern too - a brown one called Mocha he thought.

Having finished with the furins he jumped down off the chair and moved it so that he could hang the fan on the wall. It was a pretty fan, although bigger than the one that Mummy owned and wouldn't let him touch.

He liked the colouring of it though with its purples, greens and black and black swirling patterning and best of all Mummy said he could touch it all he wanted although it was really for the wall.

The fan had proved too awkward for him to hang on the wall by himself though so eventually the unicorn boy put it on the bed and placed his penguin plushie over it to sit guard over it.

Next the third furin was hung up over his bed.

Finally Arian had a look at the paper lanterns. Mummy hadn't wanted to buy them, but he'd really liked them - really, really liked them and eventually Mummy had bought four, but said he couldn't have more than two and that she was going to send away whatever was leftover as gifts.

The only problem however was that he loved them all.

Eventually however after peering and peering Arian was able to finally settle on two of the paper lanterns and left them on the bed too so that Mummy could hang them on the ceiling later.

Finally finished Arian decided to go water his tree - only to notice a note and a book carefully placed by the door along with a cookie and a glass of banana milkshake. Wandering over to it he picked up the note in curiousity and read it.

Quote:
Arian,

Here's a little something from me to you. Thought you might want something to write or draw in and figured you might be hungry and thirsty after putting your stuff away.

Got to go pay Kori's landlady so will be back soon.

How about we go to the park tommorow?

I'll see you soon,

Love Mummy heart

P.S. Do not go into Kori's things!

Arian stared at the book, the note drifting forgotten to the floor - Mummy had given him one of her shiny books, one of the blank ones. This one had a star on the front, like his tree and glowed slightly too.

He grinned to himself and she'd gone out and Uncle Kori wasn't here which meant he could poke around in her dragon collection, although first...

First he had to water his tree.

++ [ Entry 20 - Private RP - Tayne, Kaze and Arian ] ++

Mizu_Taji
Ice blue eyes watched intently as the children passed, laughing and playing whatever game they were. They seemed so happy, so carefree, so unaware of how cruel the world could be.

And she envied them with every fiber of her being.

The deep violet locked girl remained idle on the park bench where she had planted herself, in need of an open thinking space. A paper orb of a silver-grey hue sat on her lap, its light dim, as it has been ever since she had recieved it. Oddly enough, she had become quite fond of the little lanturn.

It did not judge, nor mock, nor hurt in anyway.

And for the first time, she didn't find herself crazy for 'befriending' this, in her perception, unliving object. So far it was the only friend she had.

Friend. Another odd word she wasn't used to using.

She continued to watch until the children were out of sight, and an odd thought crossed her mind

What was fun like?

kaze1981
"Come on Mummy!" The voice sounded young, its owner a jade-haired boy with a silver horn his emerald eyes bright with interest and curiousity. "Do you think if I go on a swing it will feel like flying?"

"I don't know" This voice belonged to a blue-haired woman following behind at a slower pace, a jade lantern held carefully in her right hand and a bag of cookies tucked into her midnight blue sash. On either side of her head fluttered a feathered headwing and her ears were pointed in such a way as to be similar to those of an elf. "Isn't this where you met two other spirits... The day you knocked ink on Kori's sketchbook"

The unicorn boy nodded "Yep, though I didn't mean too" he looked earnestly at the blue haired woman. "It was an accident."

Mizu_Taji
"Hm?" she mused ever so slightly as the two came into view. She had seen the blue-haired... woman before in the shop where she had been given her lanturn. She now had a lanturn of her own, a different style, but a nice looking lanturn all the same.

The boy though, she hadn't seen before. She would have remembered, seeing as she didn't know many people with a horn in the center of their forehead and a tail. Whatever, or whoever he was, he seemed like a happy, carefree child.

She then found herself pondering the boy's question. She hadn't been on a swing before, though she had seen many others use them for their pleasure.

And just what did flying feel like? She decided to keep watch on them.

Just to see if her questions would become answered.

kaze1981
Kaze smiled ruefully "I know it was an accident Arian and so does Kori".

Arian stared up at Kaze, though to be honest there wasn't that much height difference between the pair. "So why was he so mean about it? He was mean about it when I accidentally flooded the bathroom or when I spilt water on the floor that day... He's always mean."

Kaze sighed "I don't know, that's just the way he is - he's always like that. He's like that with everyone, including me." She hoped that that would be an end to it.

"But..." Arian opened his mouth.

Or maybe not. "Don't you want to get the swings?" Kaze asked. "I thought you wanted to see if it'd be like flying" she teased.

That seemed to distract Arian and he took of in the direction of the swings with a 'hurry up' over his shoulder.

Looking around thoughtfully Kaze followed.

Mizu_Taji
Sitting around was becoming boring. Plucking up her lanturn, she stood up and brushed off her backside. Benches always seemed to carry dirt or dust of some kind, and this bench was no exeption. After that was finished, she began to wander aimlessly over towards the swings. Curiosity was one of her strong points, yet one of her flaws as well.

Another was being shy out the wazoo, which is why she kept her mouth shut and her steps soft. She didn't like to talk.

That is, unless it didn't talk back.

She found herself looking down thoughtfully at her lanturn. The woman had a lanturn too. Maybe she could start a convorsation about that.

Yeah, and maybe all of heck would freeze over...

kaze1981
Arian reached the swings first and sat impatiently on the first available one. "Come on Mummy! I need you to help push!" His emerald green eyes were excited - he was going to finally find out if it was like flying.

Kaze smiled "In a minute Arian, give me a minute" she said as she caught up to him. The swings seemed abandonned, people choosing to play round the sand pit, roundabout and slides. Not that it didn't suit the blue haired half sprite that way. It'd be kind of peaceful that way.

Walking behind Arian she thought she saw a woman heading over in the direction of the swings, but then again maybe she wasn't - her stride wasn't purposeful more aimless, kind of heading in a genral direction but not necessarily that direction.

"Make sure to push really high Mummy" Arian said excitedly pointing to a nearby tree. "Maybe if you push me high enough I can touch those branches up there!" The unicorn boy added.

Mizu_Taji
With a sigh Tayne sat down a few swings away. The chains felt cold to the touch, but oddly enough it felt comfortable. She lifted her legs, just to see what would happen. The swing lurched slightly, but not enough to call it a swing.

"How do you make this thing work?" she asked louder then she intended

kaze1981
Kaze smiled secretively at Arian, knowing full well from personal experience that no matter how hard she pushed the unicorn boy was never going to reach the branches he had pointed out. The great thing about swinging though was that you thought you could. To Kaze there was something almost magical about swinging, with the song of wind in your ears and the illusion if for just a little bit of flying...

"Aren't you going to push me?"

Arian was staring at her curiously, his head tilted slightly to one side and Kaze gave a start at being caught out in her thoughts like that. "Of course" she grinned pulling the swing back and giving it a shove, before giving it another push then another.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

She had just started to start to instruct Arian on how to move his legs so that he could keep swinging on his own when she heard the voice, her head turning automatically in its direction. With a friendly smile she told the girl "I'll come and help you in a minute if you want - I can give you a startup push. The secret is really in how you move your legs though."

Arian turned his head to look at the girl and let go of the swing with one hand to give her a wave forgetting he was on a swing, remembering almost after nearly overbalancing. With a sheepish smile he managed not to fall off and instead gave the girl a bright smile, his emerald eyes peering in great interest at her lantern "Hi."

Mizu_Taji
Red took place of her once pale cheeks. Her hand was already over her mouth from when she spoke too loudly, and now she was so overcome with worry that she hadn't taken it down yet. Slowly, as she brought it down, she lowered her gaze.

"He... hello..." she studdered, replying to the boy's chipper greeting.

kaze1981
Arian grinned at the girl taking his eyes briefly away from the lantern to grin at her "Do you have a name? I'm Arian and that's Mummy." His friendly response seemed to either ignore or not notice the girl's stuttering response.

Kaze gave the girl a kindly look a tinge of anxiety in her voice at her nervous-seeming behaviour "Are you ok?" She asked gently. "I won't help if you don't want me to. A startup push always helps when swinging though." She sounded like she knew from experience.

Mizu_Taji
"Tayne... My name is Tayne" she replied, fidgeting with her hands. She never had really spoken to anyone before. She had a reason to act this way.

Or at least that's what she told herself.

"I'm fine..." she said. "There's no need to bother with a push... wouldn't get me that far anyway, seeing as this is all so... strange..." her voice trailed, her mind racing.

Talking definatly wasn't one of her strong suits

kaze1981
"Tayne? I like that name, it's pretty. What does it mean?" Arian looked at Tayne curiously. "Mine means silver I think" he scrunched up his face in thought and then looked at Kaze for confirmation, "Doesn't it Mummy?"

"Pleased to meet you Tayne, my name is Kaze and I don't mind giving you a startup push" Kaze shrugged at Tayne. ""Is it your first time on a swing?"

Tilting her head slightly at Arian's question she gave the unicorn boy a bemused smile. "Yes it does mean silver."

Mizu_Taji
"Thank you..." she said at the boy's compliment. She then looked at Kaze again. Even sitting down in the low swing, she could tell that she was shorter then she, and looked to be about her age, between the late teens and early twenties.

But she also knew that looks could mislead.

"Yes, this is my first time on one of these things. Silly, I know, but when your all alone you have prioreties..." she stopped and realized that she was actually having a conversation with two living beings, and nothing bad was happening...

What the heck?

kaze1981
Kaze nodded at Tayne, although she didn't ask any questions of Tayne about her comment. The blue-haired woman's nod seemed understanding, almost as if she understood what the other was saying.

Arian looked puzzled at Tayne. All alone.. But didn't she get lonely being alone. He opened his mouth to ask her, but closed it again as Mummy gave him a look and shook her head slightly. That only made him more curious, but he figured it was one of those things Mummy had told him he shouldn't ask.

Looking around his eyes fell on Tayne's blue-grey lantern again "It's pretty" he told her.

Kaze dug in her sash and retrieved a small bag of cookies "Would you like a cookie?" she asked Tayne, trying not to laugh at the look on Arian's face as he shifted his attention to her. "And yes you can have one too Arian" she said, answering the question before the unicorn boy could even ask it. "You might want to stop swinging first though."

Mizu_Taji
Tayne smiled slightly as she looked down at her lanturn. "Thank you..." She peered up at the swinging Arian once more. "Your mummy has a nice one too. It matches your unique coloring"

She then gazed at Kaze again. Even though they just met, she felt as though she could connect with her, but then again it was only a feeling...

"A cookie? Sure... I guess... I mean if you really don't mind..."

kaze1981
Arian grinned at Tayne "Mummy doesn't mind - she gives cookies to everyone!" The unicorn boy frowned slightly in thought then added "Well not Uncle Kori's friend who's a boy since he's creepy and not Uncle Kori either because Mummy says he doesn't like cookies." Arian ignored the embarassed look on Kaze's face and continued "Personally I think it's cause he's a meanie though."

"Arian!" Kaze's voice wasn't sharp, but it caused the unicorn boy to flush slightly and duck his head slightly, especially when he caught the disappointment in her eyes. "You know it's not nice to speak badly of others" she rebuked mildly

Arian gave Kaze a slightly rebellious look, before mumbling a downcast appology. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that" he muttered quietly. Even though it's true! he added silently to himself

Kaze sighed slightly and gave Tayne a rueful smile "Please forgive Arian, our housemate is not much of a people person and can be.. A bit abrupt sometimes." She extended the bag of cookies to Tayne "And of course I don't mind if you have a cookie - help yourself."

Mizu_Taji
Hesitantly she reached into the bag that Kaze had offered and pulled out one of the edible disks. She looked at it for a few moments, then took a small bite.

"Its good, thank you," she stated after she swallowed. She then took another bite, this one a bit larger then the first. She had already eaten the breakfast that her current hosts had been kind enough to provide.

But there was always room for a cookie.

"You come around here often?" she asked with a small smile, wondering slightly if they's be like the others, just talk once then never talk again.

She didn't really mind though. It happened so much that she was used to it.

Still, it was nice to be able to talk to someone, no matter how weird it felt at first.

kaze1981
"I'm glad you liked it Tayne" Kaze said with a smile in response to the girl's compliment on her cookies. "I bake them myself.. And yes I do come here fairly often, although Arian comes here more."

Arian nodded enthusiastically "We don't live too far from here - well the place really belongs to Uncle Kori but he lets us live with him." He added "And I like it here. I've met other people like me here, although they were smaller.

Having managed to stop swinging he held out his hand for a cookie.

Laughing Kaze gave him one as she asked Tayne with a smile "And how about you Tayne - do you come here often?"

Mizu_Taji
"This is actually my first time... of what I can remember anyway" she said somewhat meekly, then finished off her cookie. She then gazed at Arian.

"Others like you? What do you mean by that?" She was confused by the boy's wording

kaze1981
Arian blinked "Other spirits like me - but smaller than me" he told Tayne. "There was a green one called Aikori and a yellow one whose name I can't remember," he frowned. "I wanted to stay longer and talk to them, but I had to get back though I didn't want to."

Kaze blinked herself and looked at Arian curiously "Aikori? As in Enikil's child?" She asked the unicorn boy curiously. She'd been planning to take Arian with her the next time she saw Enikil and introduce him to both Aikori and Enikil - she hadn't realised they'd already met.

She frowned to herself slightly Although it might not have been the same Aikori, Arian could have met someone else called Aikori....

Arian shrugged "I don't think.." He frowned "Wait! I think he said something about an Enikil... And a Cloud" he added. "I can't remember though." He looked back at Tayne "I met a spirit who was my size once too, but it wasn't here it was at the lantern shop where Mummy bought my lantern."

Mizu_Taji
Tayne tilted her head at the unicorn's words.

A spirit?

"A lantern shop, eh? I think I saw your mom there the last time I visited. You weren't there though... or at least of what I can remember..." she withdrawed her voice as she herself drew in to think for a few moments. She then looked at Arian again.

"What do you mean, spirit?" she finally had courage to ask, hoping he didn't mind.

kaze1981
Kaze blinked at Tayne "Did you?" Her voice sounded curious, the half sprite not remembering meeting the other girl before today. "I'm sorry" she sounded appologetic. "It's just I didn't recall meeting you before today."

Arian looked at Tayne "Umm I mean spirits like me." He didn't really know how to explain it. "Like when I was stuck in there" he pointed at the lantern that Kaze had placed carefully down and slightly out of the way so she could push him on the swing. "It was boring in there though - there's nothing to see.. Not like out here."

Mizu_Taji
"I really wasn't trying to be found..." she said. "This is my first time speaking to someone that I haven't really met before... so then I just observed... You spoke to a small girl in a kimono... I think..." she said, wondering if maybe she had the wrong person.

"Well, it seems like it would be rather boring in a lantern, but then again, when you're a lantern people smile at your beauty and give you a home as soon as they see you. You wouldn't have to worry about hunger or thirst, or anything like that..." She stopped and thought about what she was saying.

"Wait one moment... you came from what?"

"Wait one moment... you came from what?"

kaze1981
Kaze nodded "I think I remember. I offered her a cookie." Actually Kaze pretty much offered everyone cookies - it seemd to be just something the blue haired woman did - a part of her nature mayhaps. She smiled ruefully "I was worried I'd met you before and had been rude to you somehow."

Arian tried to roll his eyes at Kaze's last sentence - Mummy was never rude.. She was always proper... Even to Uncle Kori... She made him be proper too, even though personally the unicorn boy didn't know why he had to be proper to meanies like Uncle Kori.

Listening to Tayne speak he interrupted "But it's boring in there - there's nothing to see. You can hear things but not see them and there's nothing to do." Being in the lantern seemed a somewhat touchy subject to him.

At Tayne's second question he pointed to his lantern again wondering why she sounded so surprised. "From there."

Mizu_Taji
He came from a lantern? That just couldn't be right...

Tayne admitted the boy was small...ish, but still...

How could he fit inside a tiny lantern? It was impossible. Impractical.

But then, Arain seemed young. Perhaps it was one of those fazes that children went through. That made sence to the violet-haired girl, seeing as she had no childhood, so it was possible that she missed out having a 'pretend' origin. Still, she didn't want to ruin his day.

"Oh, that's what I thought you said..." she said with a meek smile.

kaze1981
Kaze laughed at the puzzled look on Tayne's face "Actually I was sleeping when it happened so the first person he met was Kori" the smile faded - waking up to find an irate Kori trying to throw out Arian wasn't exactly one of the best things that had ever happened to her...

And she had been serious in what she'd told Arian that night - she would have left if Kori had thrown him out. Though for some reason he hadn't and although Kaze wasn't arguing she wasn't sure why Kori had done something so out of character as to let Arian stay either - not that she was going to ask him though.

Arian sneaked another cookie out of the bag Kaze was holding while she was distracted. While Mummy was distracted was always one of the best times to do it as she always stopped him eating too many cookies.

Goal accomplished he muttered something that sounded suspiciously like "Uncle Kori is mean" before smiling at Tayne again "So do you live near here too?"

Mizu_Taji
Tayne watched Arian with rapt attention as he sucsesfully removed the cookie, then looked back at Kaze and smiled.

She didn't want to give Arian away.

"Well if that's so I can imagine that Kori's reaction wasn't a pleasant one... Of what part of his personality I know of." she stated, reffering to Arians multiple 'meanie' comments on his uncle.

"Sort of..." she said, replying to Arian's question. She looked around. Just how far away was her home from here? She never really paid any attention to it.

kaze1981
Kaze smiled ruefully "Ah Kori is well Kori" she said. "We've kind of known each other for a while and he was nice enough to give me a place to stay when I needed one, but he's not really a people person - he never has been... But he really isn't all that bad."

Arian looked interested as Kaze told Tayne about Kori until he realised that she wasn't going to say anything else, even though he'd been trying to find out how Mummy knew someone as mean as Uncle Kori - especially since she wasn't mean like he was. Besides she was wrong about him not being bad - why else was he so mean.

Tilting his head slightly as Tayne answered his question he said impulsively "Well maybe you can come and visit us sometime - Mummy and me are really close to here and you could have more of Mummy's cookies." He looked hopefully at Tayne. "That is if you want to."

Mizu_Taji
"I would enjoy that, that is, if your Mummy and Uncle Kori don't mind" she said happily.

People weren't so bad. Maybe she should try talking to people more often.

But she didn't expect a miricle.

kaze1981
Kaze blinked at Arian startled - that had been a bit sudden, especially as Arian knew that Kori wasn't exactly fond of people - which is probably why they never seemed to get any mail.. Well that or Mitsukune had terrorised the postmen. In response to Tayne's answer she said "Well, I personally don't have a problem with it but I'll have to talk to Kori about it. He probably won't care as long as you come when he's not around though." She smiled appologetically "He really isn't a people person. I'll give you our address anyway - just in case."

Arian looked crestfallen as he heard Kaze's answer - he'd forgotten about Uncle Kori - he was mean enough though that he'd probably say no just to be mean. Sometimes he wished it was just him and Mummy because things would be easier - no mean, no fun Uncle Kori.

"If Uncle Kori says no, we can always meet in the park" Arian said, less happily than before as he was sure Uncle Kori was going to say no. "I hope you can come though since I could show you my tree then - it's really pretty."

Mizu_Taji
"I had a feeling you would say that" she said with a small smile. "I wouldn't want to make Kori angry with a surprise visit. It's all right though, no harm, no foul." She looked over to Arian again.

"A tree? What makes it different then the ones here?" she asked kindly, trying to make convorsation.

kaze1981
Arian perked up a little at the mention of his tree "It's about this small" he used his hands to show Tayne. "But it's a real tree and it floats! And it has little butterflies too - it's really pretty. It's called a Star Vine."

Kaze nodded "Though I doubt he'd be angry per se, he rarely gets really angry. No it's more that he can be rude and I rather he wasn't rude to you." She smiled ruefully and then fished a cookie out of her bag of cookies and offered half of the cookie to Arian before offering Tayne the bag again. "Would you like another cookie?"

Mizu_Taji
Tayne smiled and reached into the bag again, nimbly fishing out another cookie.

"Of course. One can never have just one cookie." She then peer back at Arian. The boy had a vivid imagination. First people coming out of lanterns, now a floating tree.

But of course it didn't explain how Kaze's ears receded to a point.

Tayne shrugged off the inconsistencies. There must be a logical explaination for that. There is always one.

She was just enjoying her cookie to much to want to figure.

kaze1981
Arian nodded gleefully "True," he gave the bag a wistful look. "I just wish Mummy would let me have more of them, but she says too many are bad for you."

Kaze laughed, "Too much of anything is bad for you Arian." The half sprite said as she took the chance to fish out some paper and a pen before scribbling down an address in messy but legible handwriting before handing the paper to Tayne. "Here's our address, Kori's apartment is the last one on the top landing of the block." She smiled ruefully. "But don't bother trying to send us any mail - for some reason we don't get any mail since the mail men won't deliver to us."

Mizu_Taji
Tayne took the paper gingerly and looked at the handwriting. She thought it looked nice.

"Yes, you are right Kaze. One can always have too much of a good thing...or a bad thing for that matter..." she stuck out her tongue, finding that her own words tasted funny.

She lifted her feet in habit, forgetting that she was still on a swing. The swing moved slightly, shocking Tayne enough to send her falling backwards onto the ground, her lantern landing gently on her stomache.

kaze1981
Kaze looked startled as Tayne fell from the swing, the half sprite holding out a hand to help the other up. "Are you ok?" Concern glimmered in her eyes.

Arian blinked confused at Tayne's words "What do you.." he forgot the question he was about to ask as the girl fell from the swing. "Are you all right Tayne?" His voice was anxious "You're not hurt are you?"

Mizu_Taji
Tayne stared up at the sky, only half aware of what had just happened.

Then the sky darkened... as Kaze blocked her view of the sun. The question snapped Tayne out of whatever she was in, and she regained memory of what happened.

Pain came next.

"I'm fine... I think..." she said as she took Kaze's hand. "Just a bump on the head..."

kaze1981
"That means you have to go home and rest right?" Arian said to Tayne, his words a mixture of comment and question. "Mummy says that you need to get rest if you bump your head and that if it hurts you need to take medicine to make it go away." He looked anxiously at her. "It doesn't hurt does it?"

Kaze helped Tayne up, shooting Arian a bemused look as she did so "Slow down on the questions Arian" she told the unicorn boy. "Not everyone likes answering floods of questions." Looking back at Tayne, a flicker of concern slipped into her eyes "Are you sure you're ok?"

Mizu_Taji
"I'm fine... honest, and no, it doesn't hurt anymore" she muttered slightly as she felt her head. No bump... at least not yet.

"It doesn't seem like I got a bump after all..." she sighed, feeling bad that she had gotten the two so worried. She stooped down to pick up her lantern.

The pain of the initial fall had disapated, but she still felt iffy. Brushing off dirt and dust, she somehow managed one of her meek smiles.

"It's alright..."

kaze1981
Kaze nodded "Well that's good" she told Tayne and just like that she let the subject drop. It seemed something that the half sprite was good at - not pushing and letting things drop if she thought that people didn't want to talk about things anymore.

She tilted her head as she felt the breeze pick up, surprised to find that it was late afternoon.

Had time really passed so quickly...?

"I'm glad you're ok" Arian added. "It's no fun being hurt - it stops you from doing fun things and you're bored all the time."

He flushed slightly as he heard his stomach rumble, telling him in its own way that a bread roll for breakfast and two and a half cookies was not enough to count as any sort of meal.

Mizu_Taji
Tayne blinked as she looked up again. The sun was high up in sky now.

Time sure does fly... when having fun?

Hearing a loud grumbling sound, she turned. It wasn't loud persay, but noticable. Noting the flushed look on Arian's face, she could tell what might be going on.

"It seems that I have kept you too long... I'm very sorry" she said apologetically, giving a slight bow. The paper that Kaze had written on was still in her hand. She looked at it quickly then shoved it in her pocket for safe-keeping

kaze1981
Kaze looked at Arian amused "Looks like we'll have to get you some food, which fortunately we won't to shop for. Will something with carrots do?"

At Tayne's words the half sprite looked puzzled "Why appologise?" Her voice sounded genuinely confused. "I've enjoyed talking to you and so has Arian" she grinned. "Besides you've complimeted my cookies."

Arian looked sheepishly at his mother "I am a bit hungry" he mumbled embarassed, though he perked up at the mention of carrots. "Can I have banana milkshake too?" Emerald green eyes looked at Kaze hopefully.

Kaze nodded.

"Yay!" This was said with a wide grin. Looking at Tayne the unicorn boy gave her a wide smile "I really liked talking to you. Hopefully Uncle Kori will let you come over - I'd like that too. I really want to show you my tree since it's so pretty."

Mizu_Taji
Tayne blinked slightly. Enjoyed her company? She wasn't used to that, excluding the Sandersons for course. But then they treated her like a long lost daughter.

"I enjoyed talking to you too..." she said, withdrawing to her shy nature. So many things had happened in just the past few hours, things she really wasn't used to yet.

Yet she felt happy, for some odd reason. It felt like she had finally found something, something she had been missing...

A friend, perhaps?

"I would like to see your tree too" she said with general interest. Maybe, since it was possible for her to make a friend, there might be other things that she never thought to be in exisistance as well.

Like magic trees, or even beings that came from lanterns.

kaze1981
Arian grinned "Great!" He told Tayne, before turning a pleading look on Kaze. "You will ask Uncle Kori won't you.

Kaze nodded, her voice amused "Of course." She looked at Tayne. "Is there somewhere you'd like me to send a response to let you know if it's ok? Just" She frowned in thought. "Tell you what, I'll leave a response at the post office - the one near the grocery store. I have to go down there to collect mail anyway since no one will deliver any mail to us. I'll leave it for you under your name if that's ok with you."

Mizu_Taji
"That's fine with me," she said with a smile. "I'll be sure to keep my eye out for it."

Rubbing the back of her neck with her hand, she stood there, not knowing what else to say...

kaze1981
Kaze smiled back "Great, hopefully I'll be able to leave something at the post office soon." The half sprite offered the bag of cookies over to Tayne "You seem to enjoy eating them so please accept them." Kaze grinned "I can always bake more."

Arian looked disappointed at the loss of the cookies, although the unicorn boy perked up at the mention of the woords 'bake' and 'more'. "I hope Uncle Kori says yes" he repeated. "And I'm really glad that you're ok."

His stomach grumbled again and he gave Kaze a hopeful look. "Can I have banana milkshake before I have carrots?"

Mizu_Taji
The violet-haired girl took the bag hestitantly. It felt weird to have someone she had never truely met before be so kind. Most just glared at her, made fun of her.

But that was the past, and it seemed to Tayne that Kaze and Arian had given her something more.

A reason to keep going.

And who knew? Maybe she'd be able to find more people who would want to be her friend.

After this moment, anything seemed possible.

"Thanks Kaze. I hope we'll be able to run into each other again soon," she smiled as she looked over to Arian, "and I hope to see your tree soon too. I'll even bring my lantern next time. I'm sure it would want to see it as well"

kaze1981
Kaze looked at Arian mock-sternly "Nope" she told the unicorn boy. "It's carrot-type things first and then milkshake - it will make you like the milkshake more" she added. looking at Tayne with a smile she told the violet haired girl "Well even if Kori says no we can meet here or at the lantern shop... Arian for one is here quite a lot as we live so close." She sighed regretfully "It'd be nice to talk some more, but with it being so late and everything I think it's time Arian and I were going."

It was a goodbye and at the same time a promise to hopefully meet again.

Arian looked at Kaze confused "But I already like banana milkshake, why do I.." He tailed off as Kaze gave him a look and figured he'd bug about it later - maybe it was one of those weird Mummy-type things. Looking at Tayne the unicorn boy nodded "I'd like to know more about your lantern.. And maybe next time Mummy can play her harp - she's really good at it. Lets meet again soon!"

Kaze carefully mixed the chocolate into the mixture of chocolate brownies and poured the mixture into the pre-greased tin before carefully popping the tin into the oven.

As usual the half sprite fliched slightly from the heat of the oven despite the very thick and very heavy oven gloves, as well as the thick and not easy-to-burn cloths that she was wearing.

Fire made her nervous.

Fire had always made her a little nervous and growing up the half sprite has found that she was sensitive to getting burnt a lot easier than those of the rest of her peers in the village..

Not that she'd really interacted with her peers much as a child - it was kind of hard to interact when one's peers saw you as the village freak after all.

Kaze sighed and shook her head. The village was in her past, was not something she liked to dwell on long. Too many memories - some painful - were associated with it.

Kori was out, as was Arian - he'd wanted to go down to the lantern shop and Kaze couldn't see any reason why to deny the unicorn boy's request.

Besides it wasn't good for Arian to spend all his time round her, much as she liked his company. It was good for him to seek others out...

Even if Kori's apartment seemed suddenly very quiet with Arian gone.

Kaze just hoped he was having a good time at the shop and had found people to talk to.

The half sprite grinned to herself - and she could surprise him with brownies and icecream when he got back.

Things had certainly been livelier with Arian, Kaze mused to herself as she made up some bananas for milkshake.

Kori wasn't exactly what you'd call a great conversationalist, actually he was antisocial, rude, generally mean and sarcastic.. In fact Arian calling him a meanie wasn't too far off the mark if one was to be honest and yet the unicorn boy was wrong in a way too.

Kaze was convinced of it - after all she'd seen enough proof over the time that she'd known the fallen angel to know that he wasn't as bad as he'd like people to think..

However she also recognised some one with a secret (or as in Kori's case a lot of secrets) when she saw them and she knew when to leave well alone.

Smiling to herself Kaze went to get her harp, the half sprite feeling the sudden urge to play something. As she did so she found herself thinking about the girl she'd met at the park - Tayne.

Tayne had owned a lantern too, had said that she'd gotten it from the same shop where Kaze had found Arian. She'd seemed nice if a little quiet and Arian had certainly liked her...

Kaze still had to get round to asking Kori if it was ok for people to come round.. Well more like properly broach the subject, although if the response to it was like the response to her half hearted questions then Kaze figured she'd been right in telling Tayne that Kori wouldn't care if she turned up when he wasn't around.

Kaze smiled ruefully. All this time and she still didn't get the fallen angel.

Making the mental note to ask him whenever the fallen angel got back from Mitsukune's place Kaze went to go get her harp.

Asking Kori could wait for now...

kaze1981
Arian was bored.. Really bored... Sighing the jade-haired unicorn boy swished his tail impatiently as he kicked pebbles outside the lantern shop. "Bored. Bored. Bored!" he muttered as if by conveying his boredom something interesting would drop out of nowhere to entertain him. "Bored!" He added again for final measure.

Xenostatica
Hikari skipped her way down the street, Xenos was busy dragging that new camera of her around so she allowed Hikari to go to the shop to see what was new before going on adventure to the park. Her pigtails swang back and forth to the rythem of her humming.

Rown
Dusk was also humming away, his tune one that had no words as usual. He simply stayed where he was standing, no desire really to move or anything of that nature.

He wasn't far from where Arian was, only a block up. He could see the unicorn boy, yet he made no moves to go and speak to him. Dusk was growing too fearful of people. Far too fearful.

Yet he hummed his song loudly, not caring if that person came to him or anythign else happened. When he hummed he was happy.

kaze1981
Arian was about to kick another pebble when he heard the music - humming in fact.

Blinking the unicorn boy tilted his head to the side slightly - yes still humming.

Curiously he turned his head in the direction of the humming, noticing a boy further up. He looked rather.. purple and since he seemed to be the only person around the unicorn boy assumed he must be the one humming.

Grinning brightly Arian headed in the boy's direction - he liked meeting new people almost as much as he liked to find out about things.

Xenostatica
Hikari was coming up to the shop when she saw Dusk, if she had remember correctly and another. She had not met that lanturn before. She was surprised at how much bigger he was then her. She blinked a moment and grinned, she took a skipping start and waved her arms trying to catch soemone's attention, "Dusk, Dusk!"

Rown
Dusk's ears quickly folded as two people came at him from seperate directions, his face still set as stone and his humming stopping. He remained motionless as they both approached, though a small drop of sweat ran down his cheeks.

"Ah...ah...."

He didn't know what else to say. Maybe they'd speak more than him...and he could run away.

kaze1981
The boy stopped humming as Arian approached and the unicorn boy gave a small 'moue' of disappointment - the humming had been.. Pretty... The other boy had a nice voice.

Still maybe if he asked then he might hum again - well at least a little more.

"Hi I'm..." Arian stopped at the sound of a female voice calling out the name 'Dusk' blinking at he caught sight off a small red girl. She kind of reminded him of the other two spirits he had met - Aikori and a yellow one that he couldn't remember the name of.

Xenostatica
Hikari was out of breath as she reached the two of them, "Dusk, I love that you hum, I kind of wish you would sing more..."

Her grin appeared as she stopped talking and curtesied for Arian, "I'm Hikari, it's a pleasure to meet you..." SHe had to stop because she didn't know his name and suddenly felt that she was being quite rude.

"I'm so sorry," she quickly bowed.

Rown
Dusk's easrs folded more as he was given a compliment, something he wasn't really sure if he should take anymore. However he did give a bob of his head and took a step back so both people were in full view.

"I'm called Dusk, though....well. Just Dusk. And thank you Hikari for the compliment...."

He rubbed his head behind his head, trying to hide his nerves.

kaze1981
Arian gave Hikari and Dusk a cheerful smile. "I'm Arian" he told them "And I like your humming too" he told Dusk. "It's pretty."

Tilting his head to look at Hikari he told her "You do the bending over thing too - there was this pink haired girl in the lantern shop who did that." He scrunched his face up slightly "She said she did it because it was polite and that it's called a bow. Is that why you're doing it too?"

Xenostatica
Hikari giggled, "Yup, I'm bowing for a respectful apology. I was rude to inturrpt. It is very nice to meet you Arian." She was excited more Lanturns to make friends with.

She smiled back at Dusk, "I'm glad you like th compliment, but you compliment us by singing, you reveal yourself to us when you do that, I think." She looked as if she pondered a moment or so, "I'm glad for that though."

Rown
"Is my singing really that good? I've got no compare to the voices of the Others, but still it makes me happy to have someone tell me I sound pretty."

Dusk's ears flipped up and turned a soft shade of pink, his only form of blushing. His face would always be stone except around two people.

"Also....well...nothing."

kaze1981
Arian blinked at Hikari confused - she was bowing to say sorry whereas the pink haired girl had bowed to say hello "So you bow to say hello and to say you're sorry. Do you have to bow to say goodbye too?" Bowing was starting to sound more and more complicated to him.

Looking at Dusk he told him "Well I think it's pretty and I like listening to singing. Mummy sings sometimes when she plays her harp, but she doesn't play it very often as Uncle Kori doesn't like it." He scowled slightly. "Uncle Kori is a meanie."

Xenostatica
Hikari smiled, "Bowing is used for many situations and depending how you are raised, you may bow for certain events like saying hello or sorry... I don't think you bow for good bye but I could ask." She knodded with curiousity.

Hikari shook her head then and pouted at Dusk, "Your singing is blissful...I think that is the word, yes? Xenos can't sing but we listen to the birds and they sing wonderfully, I think that you are better then the birds and they were born to sing." With a proud stance she knodded in agreement with her own analogy of Dusk.

Quote:
Hi Enikil,

How are you doing? And how is Aikori? I'm fine myself.

As to the reason why I'm writing - well I was wondering whether you and Aikori would like to come round for a visit. My flatmate has said he's fine with it as long as it's on a day when he's at work. Tell Aikori I'll bake cookies and I might play my harp if he wants.

Part of the reason why I want to invite you over is because I'd like to introduce you and Aikori to someone...

Kaze paused at this, thinking of what to add to the letter and then continued.

Quote:
Though I think that Aikori and he may have already met as he mentioned meeting a green boy called Aikori and he mentioned you as well.

I've stuck the address on the bottom of the letter.

Hope the two of you are well

~Kaze

P.S. I'd like to tell you about why I've been away or at least part of it if it's ok

Kaze hesitated over the 'P.S.' part, half tempted to scribble it out or rewrite the letter and leave that bit out.

Eventually though she left it in, the half sprite sealing the letter and leaving it to the side to be posted in the morning.

Fortunately for her Arian was asleep as she wasn't sure she'd want to answer any of Arian's questions if he'd been awake..

Not this time. Besides it was better for him to sleep - something that she herself should be doing she reminded herself ruefully.

Yawning she went to fetch herself a cup of tea. One cup and then she'd go to sleep.

The letter to Enikil would be posted in the morning...

kaze1981
Arian pushed open the door to the shop, a large.. Well fairly large book tucked under the unicorn boy's left arm and a bright smile on his face.

It had taken a couple of days of pleading, but he'd gotten his Mummy to agree to play something on her harp for him - something happen.

His smile faded a little. Of course Uncle Kori had just had to spoil his fun and tell Mummy that she wasn't playing her harp in his place, but Mummy had said they could go down to the lantern shop and do it.

Arian turned half in the door to look at her "Come on Mummy, hurry up!" Sometimes she could be soo slow.

Kaze gave Arian an amused look as the half sprite caught up to the unicorn boy, following him into the shop. The half sprite had a small harp carefully tucked under her arm and a bag of assorted coloured pencils and pens in the other, while tucked into her sash was a bag of cookies.

"Coming" she called giving Arian a fond look.

Erina_Nobara
Eri stepped lightly down the street, humming a tune as she headed for the familiar lanturn shop. She held Mocha in her hand, and he flickered happily along to Eri's song. There was something different about the girl. Could it have been her mood, or something else.....like for instance the small something, poking out of her back, and hanging off her shoulder. What was it? It looked almost like a tiny person, with small and fragile gray wings protruding from her back.

User Image

What a strange sight....But apparently Eri didn't think so, as she finally stepped inside the shop. She looked around. There was Arian. She'd met him once before. But who was that with him?

"Hello?"

kaze1981
Arian smiled at the lady as she entered the shop, he'd met her here once before, although he wasn't sure of her name. It was Eri something.. Or was it just Eri? "Hi.. Eri" his voice was slightly hesitant as he decided on Eri.

He looked at the the small thing poking out of her back, curiousity flicking in his eyes at the what looked to be a tiny person "What's that?"

"Hello" Kaze gave the lady a friendly smile, the half sprite setting down her harp carefully on a small table before holding out the coloured pencils and pens to Arian. Grey eyes caught sight of the brown lantern "Oh you've got a lantern too."

Erina_Nobara
"Hi," Eri answered, giving them both a smile. "Oh? This is Prisma. Silent Prisma."

The name rang out in her mind as she recalled a scene from her childhoold. A bunch of children were standing around her.

'Why do you call her Prisma?' one asked. 'She's hardly colorful...'

'Well prisms work both ways and...well it's none of your business!' Eri argued.

The other kids just giggled and walked off.

Eri shook her mind clear of those thoughts. That was all in the past. These people wouldn't care anyway. "She's mute, by the way. In case she doesn't answer you. That's why," she explained, not wanting to appear rude in case she was quiet. "And yes. I purchased a 'lanturn' from here awhile back. I must say, this place is amazing...By the way, um...what's your name?" ^^

kaze1981
"Oh" Arian said - he'd been about to ask why she was called 'Silent Prisma' but mute meant not-able-to-talk so maybe that was why.

He gave Prisma a smile anyway "Hi Prisma."

Kaze laughed "Oh I'm Kaze" she indicated Arian. "And this is Arian. Pleased to meet you and Miss Prisma too." She smiled and waved the colouring pencils at Arian to remind him that she still had them.

Erina_Nobara
One couldn't help, but notice how much alike Eri and Prisma were despite their appearences. There movement, and expressions were much the same when Eri spoke. They both smiled and waved. Prisma's attention was on the colored pencils. She'd never seen those before.

Eri plopped down on a couch. The angel hovered next to her, watching Arian closely. That's when Eri noticed Kaze's harp. "Oh do you play? Well I mean, I assume you do since you're carrying it," she chuckled. "I love music. Even though Prisma can't sing, we can still perform other spells with instruments and other things."

Prisma: *cutely floats and watches* "....."

"Um would it be weird if I asked to hear you play?" she questioned, giving a smile.

kaze1981
Kaze looked amused at the lady's question "No it wouldn't.. Actually Arian has been badgering me to play him something, but we didn't want to disturb my friend - he owns the place where we live." She looked appologetically at the lady "I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, only Miss Prisma's."

Arian made a face at the reference to Kori, but (surprising) stayed silent. Noticing the coloured pencils the unicorn boy grinned, finally taking the offered bag from Kaze and selected a green pencil. "Muumy's playing is nice, but she doesn't play very often. She's promised to play something happy for me though."

Erina_Nobara
"Oh, I apologize. The name's Eri," she said grinning. "And that's wonderful. I'd love to hear you."

Prisma hovered down next to Arian, watching him, and then reaching out to poke at one of the colored pencils. "...." *blinkblink*

"Oh err...sorry, heh," Eri apologized, looking at the little unicorn boy. "If she's bothering you don't hesitate to tell me. And I'll ask her to go back inside me." She thought about what she'd said. It probably made no sense what so ever to either Kaze or Arian. "Oh lemme quick explain here, so I don't sound....completely crazy," she chuckled. "Prisma is my angel. She's a direct reflection of my soul, and so she stays.....inside of me....usually....."

Prisma jokingly stuck her tongue out when she heard Eri apologize. She just wanted to find out what those mysterious things were. They produced color when the boy moved it across the paper. Weird. Amazing even. "...."

"Anyhow, about your music?" Eri asked, adjusting Mocha in her lap. He blinked happily at the word 'music'. It was something he had shown interest in almost as soon as Eri had brought him home.

kaze1981
Arian blinked as he noticed Prisma's interest in his coloured pencils and then smiled at her and held up a few of them. "Do you want to colour too?" He asked. "There's plenty of paper in my book so I can give you a bit if you want."

Kaze had raised an eyebrow at Eri's comment about Prisma going inside her, but after Eri's explanation the half sprite had laughed. "Well I'm not considered completely normal myself" she said. "So strange things don't tend to bother me." She watched as Arian held out some coloured pencils to Prisma, before focusing on tuning the harp, her short if slender fingers gliding over the strings with the ease of long practise. "And I don't think Arian thinks she's bothering him, although" she let her voice drop slightly so Arian wouldn't overhear. "I wouldn't tell Arian what you just told me unless you want to face several questions."

Arian looked over at Kaze "Are you going to play now Mummy?" He asked excitedly, his attention caught by the silvery strings. He soo wanted to know how it worked and how his mother was able to make it make music.

Maybe if he asked her when she was done she might tell him this time.

Erina_Nobara
Prisma clapped her hands together happily, taking one of the 'colored pencils' and a piece of paper. She had begun to draw non-other than herself, but she was adding rainbows to her wings and hair.

Eri chuckled at Kaze's comment. "Alright then." Arian was obviously a curious one, so unless she had any wish to explain things to him, she had better be careful what she said.

The girl listened as Kaze began to play her beautiful music. She could tell why Arian was so eager to hear. It was very pretty. She closed her eyes and swayed back and forth slightly to the song. heart

kaze1981
Arian had asked for something cheerful, so Kaze had settled on a song about two adventurers and the incompetent songstress who had followed them around trying to record their exploits.

The tune itself was an upbeat one, one she had learnt while working for Kori.. When she and Kirith had been out on assignment.

Kaze half-closed her eyes at the thought of the sprite with the everchanging hair .. Her mother's cousin. The memory bringing a turmoil of memories - even as she sang along to the tune that her fingers picked up, her voice whispery and soft yet at the same time each word clearly heard, dropping into the mostly silent room like a soft breeze, it's only mar the scritch of coloured pencil on paper and Arian's laughter at some of the songstress' exploits.

Arian had been mostly silent - well apart from a 'Yay!' when his mother had given a nod in response to his question and having found a stool, sat on it, the harp on her lap before starting to play.

He blinked in surprise when Kaze started to sing - singing something that his mother did even less than playing her harp even though she had a nice voice - A really nice voice.

He could remember her singing back when he'd been stuck in his lantern - not very often, but sometimes. The voice making being in there less dull, if for a moment.

He giggled as Kaze reached the part about the music lady hanging out an inn window to try and spy on the adventurers and and falling out and getting caught on the inn sign - this song really was funny.

Tilting his head he caught sight of Prisma's picture, the rainbows in the wings and hair really pretty.. Much prettier than his picture of a tree in his opinion.

Erina_Nobara
Eri giggled as she listened to the exploits of the lady in the song. She applaueded once the song had ended. "You have a wonderful voice, and talented fingers I might add." She winked, and pointed toward the harp. "That's very pretty. Was it a gift?"

Prisma smiled, pointing at Arian's picture. whee <333

"I think she really likes it," Eri smiled. "She's never really been this enthusiastic about stuff before. I'll have to keep that in mind, and letter play around with colored pencils at home too. I just have to be careful what I let her color on." xD;

Prisma clapped her hands excitedly. She liked this word 'color' that Eri, Arian, and Kaze kept saying.

"I like to play my flute since I can't really sing. And Prisma here can't either. She has a little sea shell flute she likes to use sometimes. It's our alternative to singing." She smiled. "Kinda wish I had brought it now. We coulda' had a duet," she chuckled.^^

kaze1981
Kaze gave a half bow at the end of the song. "I'm glad you like it" she told Eri with a smile. "It's been a while since I've played this one." Her smile faded slightly at Eri's second question.

"Yes it was a gift" Kaze said at last. "I was given it a long time ago." The half sprite left it at that, a funny look in her eyes momentarily before she smiled and changed the subject. "Would either you or Miss Prisma like a cookie?"

Arian looked at Eri curiously "You and Prisma play the flute?" He asked interested. "Is it hard to play?" He looked at Prisma's picture "Yours is prettier than mine" he told her. "I like all the rainbowy colours" he said with a grin.

Erina_Nobara
Prisma smiled and shook her head. She disagreed.^^ <3

"Heh, she likes yours more. She has this thing for trees." Eri grinned, knowing exactly why this was. wink When she noticed Kaze's change in expression when she talked about her gift, she decided not to press the matter. She hated to see people sad. "Yes we play flute. I don't think it's really all too hard. But I always get really lost in my music. It just takes ya other places ya know?" She sighed happily, leaning back in the couch cushions and adjusting Mocha on her lap. "I forget when I first started playing...It feels like it was so long ago."

Prisma nodded excitedly, and drew a little shell on the back of her paper.

Eri leaned over and inspected it. "Yup, that's what it looks like. "Oooh, I love cookies. Of course I'll have one."

kaze1981
Smiling Kaze held out the bag of cookies. "The flute is pretty instrument" the half sprite told Eri. "I like listening to it, even though my talents lie with the harp" she smiled ruefully. "It's something I learnt to do when I was younger - something I had some talent at."

She grinned "And I know what you mean about music taking you to other places, playing always makes me feel much more peaceful." The half sprite didn't mind talking about her music - or even music in general and her expression was much more open than when Eri had asked her if the harp had been a gift.

Arian blinked at Eri "But I'm not very good at drawing and Prisma's drawing is much more colourful than mine." He smiled at Prisma "I like colours, 'specially silver and jade - those are my favourite."

The unicorn boy wondered what Prisma's thing for trees was, trying to think of a reason and failing. Eventually he couldn't help but blurt out "What sort of thing for trees?"

He knew he probably shouldn't ask - but how else would he know things?

Erina_Nobara
"Welll....." Eri began. I guess it couldn't hurt to tell them.

Prisma: *adores the fact that Arian has a shade of green on him* <3 *reaches out to try and fluff his hair*

"What if I told you....I was sort of....a tree? A wood nymph actually. But I also go by another name, though hardly anyone calls me that. It's Yggrasil. I prefer Eri though." She smiled as she watched Prisma float about. She knew if the angel could talk she'd be chatting up a storm, most likely about gardening; flowers, trees, and the like. It brought a smile to her face. "Prisma's a reflection of my soul so she likes plants too. I store and purify energy....sort of.....life energy, just like a tree if that makes any sense. "I'm a pillar, holding things together in the place I come from. As long as nothin' bad happens to me, it's all good." ^^

kaze1981
Kaze looked at Eri, her grey eyes surprised.

A... Tree?

Wood nymph?

The half sprite had read about those, although she'd never met one before. Although not strictly classed as part of the elementals per se, Kaze had always felt that they should be.. After all from what she'd read wood nymphs were sensitive to plants and growth. Just like sprites - Even half breeds like her - were sensitive to air, the element which defined them.

Not that Kaze was that sensitive to...

Arian's voice interrupted her thoughts

"That's cool. Does that mean you have to turn into a tree?" Arian's emerald eyes were sparkling with fascination. "And do you have to eat tree food too?"

The unicorn boy blinked at that sudddenly realising something "Err what does a tree eat.. Appart from water?"

Erina_Nobara
"Well, I like sunlight too. I can eat people-food though. It tastes too yummy to pass up. Like this cookie for instance" She gave a light-hearted laugh. The treat she had been handed by Kaze was wonderful. "And yes, I sometimes I have to turn into a tree." She nodded along in confirmation. "It's great feeling; to hold life in your branches. Even lil' animals come and make themselves at home." heart

Prisma grinned, and wiggled her fingers.

"Yes, and it's fantastic when it rains! Even though the lightening and harsh winds can be scary. The rain smells, tastes, and feels good. It's refreshing.....haha, and I here I am babbeling on. I'm sure this is far from interesting."

Prisma shook her head in dismay. It wasn't boring, not to her at least. She could listen to people talk about rain and wildlife for hours. (xD; )

"But enough about me. Unless of course there's someting else you'd like to know." She chuckled. "Tell me more about you then. Other then the fact that you're very good at baking cookies." <3

kaze1981
Arian's eyes were wide by this point "You eat sunlight?" He tilted his head. "What does it taste like? Does it taste really hot? Or is it crunchy?" The unicorn boy had never tasted sunlight before - not that he could.. Then again he wasn't a tree like Mis Eri was. "And Mummy likes the wind, especially when it's really windy, but she says that that's cause she's part wind and..."

Kaze's voice cut him off "Arian's right I do like windy days - I like stormy days too." She gave Arian a look having not expected the unicorn boy to blurt that out, although ruefully she acknowledged it was her own fault - Arian was just a child after all and didn't really understand the word secret. "As to about me - there's really not that much to tell - I like cookies and sweet things, look after Arian and live with a grouchy housemate."

Erina_Nobara
"Sunlight....how it tastes? hmm. I'm not sure how to describe it. But rest assured, it's delicious." xD "A grouchy housemate huh? I live with three sisters who are friends of mine. Living with them is a little crazy though. All kinds of weird things are always happening. I've met some of the most interestin peolpe because of that though." whee She smiled, leaning back against her seat.

The lanturn in her lap flickered.

"Haha. Ya know, I wonder what he's thinking when he does that, just to be random. At least Hakari told me it was a boy. How do ya tell the gender of a lanturn anyway? Hmm." Oo

Prisma watched as Arian asked all his questions when she noticed a potted plan in a corner of the room. It looked as though it were dying. Without thinking, she quickly floated over and revived the poor thing with a short song on her shell flute.

"Eh?" Eri turned to watch momentarily and then went back to the conversation at hand.^^ <3

kaze1981
Kaze blinked at Eri's question about the gender of the lantern. "Come to think about it - that's a good question." The half sprite smiled ruefully "Though to be honest I kind of wasn't expecting Arian when I first brought his lantern."

"Mummy was sleeping" Arian added his two bits in. "And Uncle Kori was going to make me go back in the lantern" the unicorn boy sounded subdued for a moment. "Because he's mean like that." He perked up a little "But Mummy wouldn't let him."

Kaze sighed "My flatmate didn't react to well to Arian's manifestation." Her voice was wry "Although in his defence he wasn't expecting Arian either and he never was very good with surprises. He's been kind enough to put the pair of us up though, even though he hasn't had to."

Arian mumbled something quietly, although the mumbles subsided after Kaze gave him a look. Instead he focused on Eri's comment about sunlight "I wish I could try sunlight - it sounds tasty."

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

((Added 10 March 2006))
Erina_Nobara
"Oh? So 'Kori' is his name? But I'm sure he didn't mean it. Why would he want to make someone so cute and green go away?" Eri questioned, more so to herself than anybody else. She wasn't really expecting an answer.

Prisma flew back over, leaving a small trail of gray feathers lying on the floor. When she arrived by Eri's side, she smiled and took the little brown lanturn from her. It appeared as though Prisma wanted her turn to hold onto it. She watched it carefully as the light's intensity changed as if it were trying to speak.

Eri chuckled when she heard about Arian's desire to 'try' sunlight. "Maybe someday you will." Hey, one never knows what the future holds. whee "That was kind of your friend to let you stay with him though."

kaze1981
Kaze laughed at Eri's question "Well Kori is the name I know him by, though it might not be his real name. He's been around a long time - he's a lot older than me." She grinned "And I'm older than I look."

Arian had been watching Prisma - well more specifically the trail of grey feathers left behind her - the unicorn boy reaching out one finger to experimentally touch one carefully before asking "Could I have a feather?"

The unicorn boy loved feathers - he liked all types although the soft ones were his favourite. Although Mummy and Uncle Kori didn't know he'd been keeping a collection of feathers under his bed from feather's he'd been able to find. "I'll look after it I promise!"

Secretly Arian wished he could have feathers of his own, could have feathers he could fly with like the birds did. He wasn't a bird though - he was a Unicorn, which was like a horse but with a horn that could do magical things according to the books he'd read - although he didn't know if he could do magical things.

Letter to Kaze
Hey Kaze,

Thats good you're doing well, Aikori and I are about the same here, though he's been sneaking off alot at night. I think he's usually out with Alex's little guy Gokiloud though, so its okay.

Aikori is really excited and, yes we'll be accepting your invitation. How could anyone say no to your cookies? He's been talking about it since we got your letter, so we'll follow the address.

Meet someone? I think I over heard Aikori talking about someone he met that was bigger then him. Though alot of the lanturns have grown bigger int he last little while. But I'm sure it will be nice to meet whoever it is, and I hope whatever Aikori told him about me were good.

So we'll see you soon!

~ Enikil

P.S. Don't worry about the bunny who brought you your letter, he's Cloud's pet. He'll make his way home when he's ready.

"What's that Mummy?"

Kaze peered at the bunny - bunny complete with letter in pure puzzlement. "I don't know" her voice was bewildered. "But.." She lowered her voice slightly so that the third person who lived there wouldn't hear. "Lets take him into your room so we can have a look shall we?"

Arian nodded eagerly "Can we feed it carrots?" He asked.

Kaze made a shusing notion with her fingers as she ushered Arian and the bunny into his room and closed the door. "Sssh not so loud" she said mishievously once there were in the relative safety of Arian's room. "I don't want Kori to hear - he's not a bunny person."

"Uncle Kori isn't an anybody person" Arian muttered. "He's just a meanie. A mean meanie."

"Kori is Kori" Kaze retorted back, her voice aoft. "Anyway shall we see what the letter says before he discovers that we seem to have a rabbit." Somehow Kaze couldn't see the fallen angel being too amused over the rabbit somehow.

Arian nodded "Then can we get the bunny some carrots?" He asked.

Kaze grinned.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

Arian bounced excitedly up and down on the bed as Kaze finished reading out the letter "Someone's coming over?" He asked as he fed.. Or tried to feed the rabbit with carrots.

Kaze nodded "Yes, a friends of mine - Enikil and someone I think you've met before - his name's Aikori" the half sprite eyed the bunny as Arian bounced up and down on his bed. "And stop that - you'll only make the bunny sick."

"M'kay" Arian looked contrite and immediately stopped bouncing. "I get to see Aikori again?! Can I show him my tree?"

Kaze nodded again as she borrowed some of Arian's plain paper to compose a note back to Enikil.

Response
Hi Enikil,

Glad you're doing well. We're both being fine here and the person I want you to meet has been pretty excited too.

Be prepared for lots of questions - as he likes to ask questions.

Currently he's busy feeding the bunny who came with your letter.

It was a nice surprise as we don't get any mail here anymore - I think the mailmen are too nervous to deliver. I actually thought I was going to have to go and pick up your response from the post office.

Kaze paused "Do you want to add anything Arian she asked?"

Arian nodded and carefully took the pen from Kaze. "Yep." Grabbing the paper he added in large and messy handwriting

Response continued
Hiyas,

People are coming! I can't wait, it'll be lots of fun - Mummy's cookies are the best and I can show you my tree. Also Mummy might play her harp - she will if you ask her, so please ask!
Hope you come soon!

Taking back the letter from Arian Kaze added

Response continued
As for a date - how about sometime next week?

My flatmate says he doesn't care as he's not around that week much anyway.

Let me know a day and we'll be there.

I hope both of you are keeping well,
~ Kaze

Finishing up, the letter was tucked into an envelope and given to the bunny. "Can you give this to Enikil when you go back?" Kaze asked it.

It'll be nice to have others over she mused to herself as she peered out of Arian's room to make sure Kori wasn't around and then let out the bunny so he could make its way back.

"What a gorgeous evening, Rhydion," Kalena said making her way down the snowy streets.

The snow was falling gently, forcing her to draw her coat higher aroung her neck. She huddled Rhydion close to her, for fear that he might catch cold. She had become more protective of him after learning what he truly was and capable of. Rhydion glowed brighter as she held him to her chest for warmth.

"I'm sorry, kiddo," she smiled. "I don't want to crush you! I hope you don't get too cold."

She wondered if it were strange that she was contemplating finding a way to dress Rhydion up for practicality purposes. Winter is still lingering, and she fears that the slight dampness of her apartment will ruin him. She arrived at the plaza with Soul Emporium nearby, stopping to take a breather and enjoy the falling snow.

kaze1981
"Are we nearly home yet?" Arian asked scrunching up his face slightly, although the unicorn boy refused to let go of the bag he was carefully holding. "Its so cold" he shivered. "And I'm hungry."

Kaze nodded, the half sprite holding a bag of her own. Personally the snow didn't particularly bother Kaze too much, but she had discovered that Arian wasn't particular fond of snow.. Besides she didn't want him to catch a cold.

"Tell you what - I'll make you some hot chocolate when we get back. Ok?"

kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena smiled as Rhydion flickered happily. She wasn't particularly fussed about the winter since Rhydion's arrival. Looking around she saw few people out, but caught a glimpse of the familiar unicorn boy, Arian.

"Shall we say hello?" she asked Rhydion, informing who she spotted.

As always, Rhyd flickered happily.

kaze1981
Arian suddenly caught sight of a face that looked familiar, the unicorn boy freeing one hand from the bag so he could wave at her "Hi Miss.. um" He tried to remember her name. "Hi Miss Kalene" he hoped that he'd remembered it right.

Kaze blinked as Arian suddenly waved to an unfamiliar woman, she was holding something close to her which was glowing, although the half sprite couldn't quite make it out. Tilting her head to Arian she looked at him curiously "Is she a friend of yours Arian?"

kaleidoscopegrl
Kalena waved and made her way over to Arian, and noticed that he was accompanied by a beautiful woman. She wondered if the woman could be his guardian, like she was Rhydion's.

"Arian, It's wonderful to see you again. It's really cold tonight, isn't it?" Kalena said, turning to the woman. "My name's Kalena Scope. It's a pleasure to meet you. This here's Rhydion. Say hello, Rhyd."

Rhydion glowed brighter than before. It was clear that he was very happy to see Arian again, and to meet his companion

kaze1981
Arian nodded in answer to Kaze's question "I met her when I went to the shop on my own, she was there with Miss Eri, although Miss Prisma wasn't there with her that day. She had a.."

He smiled at Kalena as she reached them "It's nice to see you too and it's freezing." The last word was said in the heartfelt way of the very cold. "Mummy's promised me hot chocolate though when we get back." He smiled at the lantern "And hello Rhydion."

Kaze smiled "Pleased to meet you Miss Kalena" Kaze said as the lady finished making her way over. "I notice that you have a lantern too." She looked at the pink lantern in curiousity "Did you get it from the lantern shop too?"

kaleidoscopegrl
"You mom's making how chocolate! You're a lucky boy!" She beamed cheerfully. "I have to make my own when I get home, too."

Kalena held Rhydion out for Kaze to look at. She was happy to meet another person familiar with the lanturn culture of the shop. "Yes, I received him several weeks ago. This little guy's been fantastic for making my apartment feel more homey."

Kalena reached into her pocket and took out a silver card case. Removing a card, she presented it to Kaze with a smile. It was her school business card indicating her contact information, her homeroom assignment, and club assignment. "If you'd like, Miss Kaze, let's meet for tea when the weather's a little bit warmer. Far be it for me to stand between your boy and his hot chocolate."

++ [ Entry 27 - self roleplay ] ++

Arian perched on a stool, the stool needed to give the unicorn boy the added height in order to reach his tree.

Mummy had said he was four feet tall which was confusing beause he only had two feet, when he had asked her about it - she had said something about being how tall he was.

Uncle Kori had heard them talking and had said that it meant that he was short, but the unicorn boy was still confused.

Right now he also wanted to really really water his tree, which but for the chair would have been out of reach.

The star vines bathed his room, in glowing silvery light, making his room look almost mystical... Magical like in one of his stories.

Mummy was quite good at telling stories, even if most of them were about her travels and sometimes about some of the work she did for Uncle Kori - although she didn't really talk about that!

He remembered the other day and the lady Kalena and her lantern - Rhydion. It had been snowing and cold and he'd been out with Mummy getting food. Mummy had promised him hot chocolate when they got back and he'd been about to ask her if he could have the whipped cream sort with chocolate sprinkles.

Then he'd seen Miss Kalena and he'd forgotten about asking and he'd gotten her name wrong, although she hadn't seemed to mind.. Or maybe she hadn't noticed.

Her lantern Rhydion had been with her too.. Although she was holding the lantern really close to her.

Arian wondered what sort of spirit Rhydion would be and whether when he or she would get bored of being in the lantern and come out like he had.

Would they be friends?

He wasn't sure yet - after all if Rhydion was a meanie like Uncle Kori then they wouldn't - Arian didn't like meanies and it was bad enough that they had to live with Uncle Kori who was always mean!

But he'd met other spirits as well - like Aikori - Aikori didn't seem mean at all and he was going to come over some time.. Mummy had actually invited him and his daddy Enikil over, though she'd said that it had to be a day when Uncle Kori wasn't around.

And maybe then they should leave a message for the girl he and Mummy had seen in the park - Tayne.

She had had a lantern too and she'd seemed nice - he liked her.

Tayne had wanted to see his tree too and...

"Arian are you done yet? Lunch's ready!" Kaze's voice interrupted the unicorn boy's thoughts.

"Almost done!" he called back as he added the last of the water to the tree and watched it disappear.

Maybe they could invite Tayne round soon too sometime, but for now.. Now there were chocolate brownies to munch on and icecream to beg Mummy to let him have.

Quote:
Dear Ronfy.

Hiyas Ron-Ron how are you doing. Again it's been a while, but I kind of wanted to update you on what's been happening since so much has happened. In fact - part of what I want to tell you about is peering over my shoulder and asking me to let him see.

Remember the picture of the lantern I showed you - the one you said looked spiffy?

Well it turned out held a spirit.. One little unicorn spirit in fact by the name of Arian!

I think you'd like him as he's so cute looking, although be warned he loves to ask questions and you'll probably be overwhelmed with them within moments.

And yes no need to ask - I'll send you more cookies - I know you like them!

As to what other news, well Arian's got my friend's spare room now and I'm using the couch. It's a little cramped but it works and Arian's room looks all nice and spiffy since the pair of us redecorated it.

Anyways best stop here as Arian's getting bored and I've got to go out and get food since a couple of friends are coming round in two days.

Hope this letter finds you well and enjoy the cookies
~ Kaze heart

"Are you done yet?!" Arian asked, peering at the cookies Kaze was slipping into a box.

Kaze laughed as she carefully placed the wrapped up cookies in the package and added the letter she'd just finished writing.

"Yep and yes we can go out - we need to get some stuff for me to cook since Aikori and Enikil are coming over in a couple of days."

"Cool" Arian sounded enthusiastic. "Can we go paint in the park afterwards?" He turned pleading emerald eyes on her. "I'm bored and Uncle Kori won't let me do it here."

"Only if we finish with enough time to do it before it gets dark" Kaze said. "But if we get the shopping done now then I don't see why not."

Carefully sealing the package Kaze wrote the words 'F R A G I L E, ship with care' on it along with Ronfy's address before tucking it carefully under her arm. "Oh and we have to post this too."

"Can I post it?" Arian asked. "And put the stamps on?!" He looked eagerly at Kaze, his tail swishing in excitement. "They've got those pretty bird ones."

Kaze smiled ruefully at Arian's obvious excitment "Only if you promise not to ask a million questions about the birds, flying or feathers." The half sprite had spent enough time with the unicorn boy by now to realise that the lantern spirit was almost obsessed with feathers, birds and the whole idea of flying.

"I promise" Arian said. "I'll only ask this many." The unicorn boy held up both hands for emphasis and then started counting on his fingers.

"No."

Arian pouted "Can I ask ten questions then?"

"No, I think that four at the most will be enough."

Another pout "But that won't be enough..." The words were a slight wail. "How will I find out what I want to know if I can't ask all the questions?"

Kaze smiled "Well there'll always be another time - especially if you want to get to the park and paint."

Arian thought it over, a trip to the park eventually winning over his wanting to ask as many questions to the as of yet unknown poor post clerk who was going to take their package. "M'kay, but next time I'll be able to ask more won't I?"

Kaze smiled "We'll see when that happens" she told the sprite before grabbing the apartment key from the table. "Now lets go post this and get some groceries."
