Actually part of your statement isn't completely true. There are many animals and insects that wage war on each other. The only difference between us and them is that we KILL EVERYTHING in our way while they only attack/defeat the opponents.

You have the bucks, mountain rams, wolf packs, and ants. Ants are considered to be one of the closest life forms to humans when it comes to waging war.

it's still depressing to think about.

Indeed it is, but it's a way of life now. Too many problems, not enough true solutions. Peace isn't always the answer.

And you felt this was a revelation to the people of this guild because?

Hey now, look at it this way. Members of this guild are probably going to already know 2 or 3 things, they might even know 10 or 20, but not everyone will know most of their history is total crap, primarily because even the most corrupt history books like to demonize at least one group the reader will dislike.

Why thankyou everyone mrgreen I'm gonna print these out so I have leisure reading material.
Heres this .. its not exactly history. It was written in 1882 and its about the ethics/role of legislation. He call it science, but you could consider is philosophy. I really enjoyed it.
