Sakakikala This is creepy! I'm going off the grid if such a thing could be made mandatory! Then it's a freegan life for me! :O But yeah, my mom really wants to get the microchip for her dog this coming year, in case hes ever lost. Does anyone know if it ******** with dog's bodies too? there's no GPS in animal microchips, but they have been proven to cause cancer at the location of the microchip. chips are also known to occasionally travel under the skin to other parts of the body. really, a collar with a name tag will do just as much good for your dog. Hoshioni - no idea. michael noire - exactly, they are conditioning the students of schools, colleges and universities to accept this "big brother" mentality, so when it goes into everyday life, they have no problems with it, they are used to it.

the best use for RFID technology I've heard so far:
Surgical sponges.
you put an RFID tag on the sponges used during surgery, then when the surgery is complete, you scan scan the patient for the sponges. The idea is that sponges are constantly left in patients and then the patients are stitched up causing a variety of problems. By sticking these things on the sponges, (and possibly on the various tools and tidbits that end up inside someone's chest), you can know that they are still there and remove them before further problems set in. It's kind of like the reverse of Big Brother - you chip stuff so it DOESN'T end up inside the human body.

@Michael Noire: At my old job we would "punch the timeclock" with our thumb or fingerprint. It made me uncomfortable at first but you really didn't have a choice unless *none* of your fingerprints would work with the scanner.
Also, I agree with the RFID technology for surgical instruments. When I heard how many surgical instruments are left in patients I felt a little sick. Then got paranoid. rofl

The world is becoming the personal battlefield nowadays. So do we fight or do we theorize from here?

Cain Elite The world is becoming the personal battlefield nowadays. So do we fight or do we theorize from here? support state initiatives opposing it, relocate your job to areas where they don't use such technology, vote for people who don't like it, point out the critical flaws such as what happens in a CAT scanner or Identity Theft, and generally do what you can to become Grid-Lite.

Personally, I am against it for the fact it causes cancer. RFID is a novel technology, but easily enough stopped, and one has to actually send to receive.
If there were not reports of cancer appearing in animals microchipped on the level of about one in four in britain, as of wikipedia, I would be annoyed with the failure to microchip criminals who have commited violent crimes. The current methods of tagging these criminals are able to be circumvented with minimal effort, and it would be marginally more difficult to block or remove the tag then a GPS tracking bracelet.
Obviously though, the FDA really ******** dropped the ball on the RFID tag.
On the other hand, mice genetically are more susceptible to cancer.
California is banning RFID implants

I don't know how you guys plan on defending yourselves from s**t like this but... I have a couple guns, and loadouts of ammunition. If they chip me, I'm a dead man walking. So why not go down guns blastin'? We have to kill them before they kill us, thats the way life is when you look at the world revolutionarly.
Maybe I'm just a psychopath, but I don't like my body being ******** with undercover. The world is ******** up nowadays thanks to these Government/Corperation asshats. Maybe it's up to the people to overthrow these dirty pricks like the Patriots did in the 1700's.

The mark of the beast is already here. It's called money. Also take for example credit cards and debit cards. What hand do you have to swipe the card with in stores? It's posistioned so you have to swipe with your right hand.

Either way the swiping machine is forcing lefties to use their right hand. Just a simple observation I made when my partner had to swipe with her right hand though she was a lefty.

I'm left handed too. We're forced to cope and do lots with our right hands. Not only swiping cards, but working a mouse. Ever seen a mouse on the left side of the computer? gonk I also cut using my right hand. I can never find left handed scissors. -end rant of lefthandedess-
