Semiremis Artto xxEternallyBluexx If you can say with total and complete sincerity that you think God is a ballerina or a wizard, go for it. We can debate the point, but as long as someone's completely sincere, I don't really mind. I do mind when someone's mocks Him or belief of Him out of spite though. I'm not gonna blow up over it, but I am gonna ask that they stop. But she can sincerely say that god might be anything, because it's true. And Vadasz didn't even mention your particular god. And I hate it when people make their religions off limits to ridicule, and just start yelling at people to shut up. I think that if it upsets you so much, you aren't really firm in your belief. If someone made fun of my belief system, I wouldn't just tell them to shut up. I'd either ignore it (if it was really stupid), or explain why they are wrong. I don't know about that. EternallyBlue made it clear where she was coming from, and I can understand that. My family is a tight knit group, if you disrespect any one of them then I'm going to at the very least have some words with you. As a Christian (and Eternally can correct me if I'm wrong here) EB probably has that personal relationship with God, he is a member of the family so to speak so why shouldn't she get offended if he is mocked and how does it mean her faith isn't strong when she stands up for him? You said it exactly. biggrin Thanks Semi.

Look guys I was asked my opinion and that's what I gave. I didn't single out anyone's particular god or gods that was a misconception on some of the readers. But why tell me to shut up you didn't see me freaking out about other people's opinions. I don't care what you belive that not for me to tell you, I just said why I thought the way I do using examples that I made up myself so as to avoid a grumpy backlash from the plebs, which has seemed to of failed. I never cited God, Vishnu, The Creator, or Luna. So if you would please read it again without a biased opinion that would be nice. If you can't get over the fact that I'm an Athiest and that alone offends you so much that you can't read it at all then just ignore it all together, there's no gun to your head forceing you to do it.

No one's trying to rip your head off, though creationism only applies to certain religions (Christianity, Judiasm, maybe Islam), so you were kinda refering to a single set of beliefs. And believe me, if I wanted to blow your head off I'D TYPE LIKE THIS AND MAYBE ******* A LITTLE TO MAKE MY POINT!!!!!!!!!! rofl I didn't even address you though. We do tend to be tolerent of almost everything except stupidity in this guild, so I wouldn't worry about anyone ragging on you for being an athiest if I were you.

hiiya. i was just born into my religion, but have been having a crisis of faith. i'm really leaning toward the belief that, yes, god did create the earth, but then he left us to our own devices.

There's a name for that but I forget what it is. It was common in early America, I just can't remember the name! gonk Edit: I think it's Deism. *just went crazy on google*

Im really a mixture of things. The technical thing to call it would be agnostic( would like to believe but doesent know) i guess but really i dont agree with that i dont mean to offen anyone withthis statement but gods in my world all kind of exist together that there really is no one true god. Though i have found that i agree with so far is paganism, and buddhism which really isnt a religion but a way of life . I dont really have a religion im not religious im spiritual and when i try to explain what i believe i can never come out to clear because i dont really know myself but i have no problem with anyone elses relion as long as they dont shove it down my throat or harm anyone in the pracice of it. And im not quite sure why other people do have a problem. I mean does it really effect them in any way if another person exists that does not share their religion?

seaforestmoon I mean does it really effect them in any way if another person exists that does not share their religion? What you believe influences your actions, so yes, sometimes it does affect other people.

I have believed in a lot of different religions at one point or another.
Reason I believe in nothing at all is simple. And I quote...
"I just live life without the worries of being tied down into a religion and feeling obligated to live a certain lifestyle because my god says thats how I should live." ~ Seltzer Cole
"I have no problem with what someone believes in because I don't believe in anything." ~ Seltzer Cole

i looked for people that i admired, that i wanted to be like.
i asked them about their faith, and that led me to the mennonnites.
they are nicer than i am, but i am working on it.
intellectual assent to the propositions is a low priority for me; chopping logic seems shallow.
but i do agree with them in tath regard anyway, putting the Sermon on the Mount ahead of everything else and taking it very seriously, and putting the NT ahead of the OT. it's bad fundamentalism but it feels right for me.

Hi! Guys.. I'm confusing with cult from religions. I know a lady who believes Falun Gong which is banned in China but is allowed in those countries who againsts China. This old lady escaped from China to avoid to be persecutedand and staying aboard as asylum seeker. The problem is : she jumped from a building after practising Falun Gong half year later and it was happened for Falun Gong was banned by the authorities. FG is already become an oganization with religion to against china's communist party. So she darenot to return to China. On another hand, China's authorities never persecuted her for practising it but they really arrested some believers. This old lady is toothless and going to be blind. Who can save her or give me some suggests

I'm an Atheist. I think many people convert to a religion is because they need spiritual sustenance or this religion represent their culture. religions to them like a child needs a mother. we nned accept them. But those religions whose followers believe a charismatic leader or have extreme forms of ascetism are all evil sects. Science are still developing and we still don't understand many phenomenon in the world. especially those stuff which seem can be felt but can't be seen and touched--like ghost, reincarnation, etc...

Becaue it feels right. Not very logical I know but it is the truth. In the end, this, paired with personal experience is why most people believe whatever they believe. Yes some believe out of fear or whatevder but that makes up no part of my beliefs.
