"I will not leave my home and friends to face an enemy they know nothing about. I will not leave them to wander around in the unknown as the enemy closes in around them. I may not have the power of forsight but I do know that though they will fight bravely and heroicly. I know that they cannot confront Reaper without guidence and wisdom, though Jake can provide this, not even he knows Reaper as I do. He will ravage across all lands not sparing any in his path and he will come swift and cruel. Like a thunder storm on the plains. No. I'm staying. Thank you Fenrir. As always it is a pleasure to have a good talk. Feel free to help if you wish but until then good day Fenrir." Strider nodded at Fenrir. "And good bye my lady." Strider bowed and then dissappeared. His astral projection went back to his body and he woke up from his trance as Demios came up behind him. "Ah, Hello Demios. I was just asking some advice of Fenrir. Now come on we gotta go stop Reaper."

"Sorry to tell ya but Jake and Rore aren't fit to go anywhere old friend. They drank to much and I put them to sleep." Demios had the smeel of ale on his breath.

"Hmmm. That is disheartening but not much we can do. Your sleeps can take quite some time to come out of." Strider got up and went with Demios back into town.

Silvia smiled at her daughter proud that she was such a caring and forgiving person and a verse of poetry came back to her. "'A past I am not proud of, A present I did not choose, and A future that is set in stone. Because that is how it was fore told.' A nice verse that I was told as a child. Though I don't who wrote it I think it's quite appropriate for the situation don't you think?"

Jake slept soundly and dreamt of running through a field of flowers with his sister. They were laughing happily as they smelt the fragrence of the flowers.

Reaper laughed and smiled at Crow. "Because you've never seen explosives like mine. Now tell your men that we move out after dark. We're going raiding and i'll show you my explosives." Reaper walked away with George and Marie following. Oni had stopped a moment and sneered at Crow. He didn't like Crow.

((*Gasp* I watched this awesome Western the other day! XD))

Elistral opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again, thinking better of it. It would be hard to explain. "Mm-hm. A good friend wrote it, but that's about all that I know." She felt a breeze start to pick up and looked in the direction it came from. The sky was starting to darken, thunderclouds hanging low in the distance. They were fast closing the miles of the forests, and soon the plains. "It's going to rain soon, would you like to go inside instead?" She smiled at Silvia.

Rore saw himself try to calm down his horse, who was getting more frightened and whinny fearfully. "What is it?" He heard the words float out in the peaceful air. It suddenly pushed past him, making him stumble back a few steps. "What--" He started to ask again, but his breath caught in his throat and he coughed. An acrid smell took the place of the springtime flowers, and smoke burned at his eyes. He rubbed them confusedly, then staggered, coughing, after his horse further into the dream.

Crow acted like he ignored Oni and called out to the gathering of Ravagers. "Start making preparations. As soon as the sun sets, we're moving out for some fun and excitement." They let out yells of delight and began to exit through multiple openings in the cave sides. Crow went with some of the crowd going the way Reaper was going, still feigning ignorance. When he began to push past him though, he used the crowd as cover and tripped Oni, watching him fall flat on his face. He paused for a moment to return the sneer and continued to follow Reaper, Marie, and George. He didn't like Oni much either.

"I wouldn't either." Fenrir muttered quietly, and felt the ghost woman turn around to look at the now empty chair where Strider had been before. "Well, he was polite." She said, drying off the dripping wet plants. He nodded and yawned tiredly. "Too polite, sometimes, if you ask me. He should loosen up his speech." The ghost woman smiled and shook her head ruefully. "Sounds like someone I know, huh?" Fenrir felt heat rise to his face and poked moodily at one of the vegetables. "That was when I was younger, Sel..." He saw the look on her face out of the corner of his eyes and grinned. "Okay, you're right. But I should be going soon. I wish you could come with me to meet everyone else." The woman turned to put the plants in the fridge silently. "I do too, but you see how I am..." "Oh, why did I have to fall in love with such a sarcastic, dead woman?" Fenrir groaned dramatically, taking Selena into a big hug. "I wasn't always dead, if you remember right, you senile, old joker." She mumbled back at him humorously. Fenrir nodded and smiled at her.

"It would be a good idea. That cloud looks menacing indeed." Silvia got up to follow Elistral to their destination.

Strider didn't talk the entire time they were walking. He was to lost in his thoughts. They would have to stay here for a night but he doubted Reaper would wait. He would use some evil force of any kind and would attack soon. Perhaps not Salim. It was heavily gaurded and fortified. No horde would break it's defenses easily. No he would attack villages at first and gain as much ground as he could. Then once he had a force to be reckoned with he would unleash all that he had. Strider and Demios had made it to Silvia and Elistral.

Demios felt the wind and looked towards the sky as well. "Hmmm. Elistral have anywhere dry from this storm? I may like wind but lightning is not my friend. You know metal scales and all."

Jake had went ahead of his sister and looked back to see his sister with a pale look on her face and she was pointing towards the distance. When Jake turned to look he didn't see any flowers around him anymore. All he saw was soot and ash and in the distance on four tall crucifics were his friends. Strider was on the fore most with Silvia kneeling beside it in rags crying. Beside him were Elistral and Rore. On the side of Elistral was Demios but to the other side of Rore was himself. Then he was looking at himself closer on his knees and he looked away. When he looked back Jake was looking at himself say words. He couldn't hear the sound but he could tell that he was saying 'He's coming. He's close now.' Jake turned around to see a tall dark figure grab him and Jake woke with a start. He breathed deeply for a few seconds feeling that he was still all there and sighed. "Wooo. That was an ominous dream."

Reaper walked to the hole and went out. He found Gorash and went to him. "I want you to go with George to gather camping material. We'll be staying around here for some time."

"Metal scales? I didn't think dragon scales were made of metal." Elistral said, looking at Demios curiously. She shrugged and pointed to a couple of places. "We could go to a few. There's small library here, a church, a bakery, or the Protector's little base." She'd left the Protectors to their own devices nowadays. Even though they still thought of her as their leader. "The bakery is a nice place to spend a rainy day in."

Rore rubbed at his eyes a long time until he noticed that his horse, who he'd been following, had disappeared. He stopped and looked around in the thick smoke, waving it away. When it cleared, he found that he was on a blood soaked battlefield. Bonfires were spread here and there, and bodies littered the ground. Plenty of them he recognized, from Salim, but others were from when he was a boy. He heard something above him and looked up, immediately wishing he hadn't. Pikes had been placed in the ground, and the heads of his friends were stuck on them. Hearing a noise to the side of him, he glanced over to see his wife and daughter standing there, injured. "Ellie! Maria!" He heard himself call out and rushed towards them, grateful they were there. They dissolved into nothingness as a massive blade sliced through them, and he jumped back. A black armored man only half an inch shorter than him was staring at him. "Doom awaits you if you don't flee, my friend." He intoned darkly, sounding oddly familiar, then swept his weapon at him again. Rore woke up then, sober, and rolled off the bed, still imagining the blade coming after him. "Ah, s**t that hurt!" He cried out when he hit the wooden floor. Then he covered his mouth after his outburst and sat up, seeing Jake wide awake.

Gorash stopped his blade's momentum by angling downward into the ground. He breathed lightly for a moment, eying Reaper cautiously, then tore the great sword out of the earth, taking a fair sized chunk with it. He calmed himself and nodded, directing his gaze to a thicket of trees not too far off. "That would be the best place to get materials, or make a campsite." He said, standing up straight and wiping his blade off on the tall grass.

"Hmmm. Bakery fresh bread. That sounds like an endearing prospect. So to the Bakery." Strider began to walk towards the small building.

"Well not completely metal but enough to attract lightning." Demios followed Strider.

"Hey sleepy head. I guess he put you to sleep as well? I hate it when he does that to me. Usually he does it when i'm mad at him or when he's mad at me." Jake looked out a window. "Hmmm. A storms coming. Lets go find the others shall we?"

Silvia smiled and went with Strider holding onto his arm as they went.

"Right sounds good. Though you may have to rain proof it with a barrier George. Looks like it'll rain any second." Reaper looked up seeing very dark clouds over head.

"Gotcha." He went over to Gorash and touched his armor just before he teleported taking both him and Gorash to where they wer going to make their camp. "Ok i'll be back with the tents and food. It'd be nice if you went and got some fire wood and started a fire." George was polite towards Gorash. He kind of liked him. George dissappeared to their cave hideout and began gathering supplies.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 07, 2010 3:09 pm

"Interesting. I would guess that if they were completely made out of metal, it would be hard trying to fly with the weight." Elistral said, going after the three ahead of her at the back of the group.

"Or when you're drunk." Rore said jokingly. He stood and went to the window next to Jake, lowering his hands. "Sure does. Pretty big one at that." He rubbed his sore back from hitting the floor too hard and bent back to stretch. "Sounds like a good idea. I have to go back to the square first though. Ellen'll kill me if I don't get the glass I left there back."

Gorash allowed himself a small smile. Out of Reaper's little group, excluding the man himself, he liked George the best. Oni was too self-involved and Marie was...was too intolerant of any race but hers. George's silences were oddly comforting, he concluded. Gorash shook his head and went to find a suitable fallen tree, hooking his helmet to his belt. When he found a big enough log he swapped his great sword for his halberd, thinking with grim satisfaction that the axe-like blade made a great woodcutter. He brought it over his head and swung it down, a loud cracking sound echoing as it split the dry tree.

Fenrir let Selena go so she could return to the garden outside. He gazed blankly out the window to the plain landscape. The lack of color always seemed to give a bright affect to everything. Even the sun, or could it be called that?, he wondered briefly, didn't make much of a difference. "Well, atleast it's not black, huh?" He mumbled amusedly to himself. "White's the true color of death, after all."

"And grey is the color of life. Because all through life you go around with a viel in your eyes not allowing you to see the truth. Hello Fenrir it is time to go back to work soon. Your break ends in an hour." Fate had appeared infront of Fenrir in the shape of a grey shadow. "Unless you plan on breaking your promise of exactly ten years of peace? In that case i'll have to hand you over to Death and see what he does with you. Oh and yes I have been counting. 59 more minutes by the way."

"Very good. I shall have to give you a book on Dragon anatomy next time we have some peace. I think you'll find it very interesting." Demios stepped into the bakery behind Silvia and Strider.

Jake thought he saw Strider walk into a building. "Ok found the others. They just went into a building. Hold on i'll take you back to the square." Jake touched Rore on the shoulder and the both dissappeared to where Strider had appeared. "Ok get your cup I know where the others are."

George returned with everything needed and began to put up a barrier. He didn't like having to put them up. They were a bother and took so long.

Reaper, Marie, and Oni looked across the plains and saw the town they were to attack. It was some ways away but under the cover of a storm they would be invisible. Nothing would be known until it was over.

"So now what? We just wait up here for the rain?" Marie began to walk towards the camp. until she stopped. "Well come on you idiots!" Oni gave her a crude look and she just put her nose into the air and walked off.

"Insolent demon. She should remember who her superiors are." Oni didn't exactly hate marie but he thought she was to proud.

"Don't worry about her. She knows her place. She's just being fimiliar with us. She is a demon and you must remember demons are quit rude to each other ya know?" Reaper looked at Oni and began to walk towards the camp himself with Oni behind.

((Ouch, Strider, that burns my eyes, lol. Try using , it's easier to see. It looks like this.))

"I'd be honored." Elistral said, then took an appreciative sniff of the bakery's air. The place wasn't crowded, but it wasn't empty either. She gestured to some of the empty tables. "Find a table, I'll go and get something to eat. It's hard to come into here and not buy something."

Rore nodded and went off back to the fountain in the square. It was still sitting on the edge where he'd left it. A gust of wind started to knock it off, but he grabbed it before it fell and shattered. Then he retraced his steps to where Jake was, looking up at the swinging sign.

Crow had stopped down by the ladder and was talking to Grollu's watch post replacement, Taki, about the level of their supplies. He found out that they were running low on pine-resin torches, which made excellent firestarters. They also needed more rations for the Ravagers. Then he climbed up the ladder and left the trapdoor open, holding it with his foot so that the wind wouldn't blow it off until it was closed and locked.

Gorash finished hacking away at the tree, leaving slightly uneven logs. He glanced up at the approaching storm. He'd have to move them to a dry, sheltered place so that they didn't get too wet to set fire to. He noticed that George had reappered and was creating barriers. He went over to him and took an extra canvas that would be used as a tent and went back to the wood. After placing them on the canvas, he dragged them slowly to the other materials.

Fenrir repressed a shiver at the mention of being handed over to Death. "Ugh, he's such a morose being. But I think I prefer that then to him being provoked." He said, supporting his cheek in one hand and looking at the gray shadow form of Fate. It was more like a cloud of smoke than a shadow, he thought. "Of course I haven't forgotten my promise. I was actually getting bored lately. Lazing around is fun for a while, but I don't like to be still when I know there's something I need to do soon. I get so antsy." He gave a sigh, then chuckled ironically. "Just tell me when I should be going, and I'll leave." He went over to the fridge and started to rummage through it again, pulling out a small chunk of cooked steak. Then he made a sandwich out of two pieces of bread and began to eat, still hungry.

((lol srry I was working fast sweatdrop ))

Strider and Silvia sat down at the nearest table followed by Demios. "I hve to say we seem a little out of place don't you think Demios. I mean i'm in a red trench coat and your in blue royal attire." Strider gave a small chuckle as he noticed a few people eying them strangely.

"Well we are quit old so staying with the trendy outfits and new fashions is beyond me." Demios chuckled as well. Then they began to talk of normal things. Silvia would give her own words here and there.

"Got your cup? Good. Come on." Jake entered the bakery to find Strider, Demios, and Silvia sitting at a table talking amoungst themselves. Elistral was at a counter speaking with the baker. "Ahh there you all are."

"Hmm? Well it's about time you two woke up. I was starting to think I used to powerful a sleeping spell." Demios laughed and motioned for them to come over.

Reaper, Marie, and Oni had just made it to the camp site when it began to pour down and thunder and lightning. "Wow. We just made it I suppose." George had just got the barrier up.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 09, 2010 11:21 am

((It's okay, lol. The brightness of the color just kind of popped out at me. *pats you on the shoulder*))

Elistral had tried to buy only enough for the smallish group to eat, including Jake and Rore when she heard the bakery's door bell tinkle. But the baker who owned the shop was a close friend, and she ended up getting more than she intended. Then when she went to pay extra, the other woman feigned an angry tone and pretended to shoo her off. She chuckled and thanked her, turning back to make her way to the table, hearing the baker call after her that the food included drinks. Elistral put the load on the table and took a seat down, smiling a little.

Rore went with Jake to the table that Strider, Demios, and Silvia were sitting at, and now Elistral was. He pulled up an extra chair from an emtpy table nearby and turned it around so that he could sit and rest his arms on the back of it. "I'm kind of glad that you didn't use a powerful one..." He set the glass on the table and gave a shudder as a chill passed through him. Thunder boomed loudly outside, the storm closer now, and he apprecaited the fact that he was inside with his friends. And not in the dream world.

Crow had decided to stay with the Ravagers, hopping back down the hole and letting Taki close the trapdoor above. If Reaper needed him, he could get George to come and get him. Ezekiel took off from his shoulder, stretching it's wings in the wide cave that subsituted for a sky. Crow supervised the raiding supplies being placed near the bottom of the ladder so that they didn't get in the way. They'd be taking a few torches and lighting them under cover. The rain wouldn't allow them to set fire to the town, they would only be used for light purposes only.

Gorash took it upon himself to make the campfire. He placed a few logs in a cleared out spot lined with large rocks and using the tinder he'd gathered to start the fire. He rummaged in his pocket, slipping his hand under a section of his armor, and pulled out a matchbox. He was about to strike the match and light the tinder under the firewood when he glanced suspiciously to the materials George had brought back. "Is there any of that black powder over there, Reaper?" He indicated the pile with a nod of his head.

Strider took one thanking Elistral and took a bite. "Ahh. Now this is some good bread." Strider looks out the window as it began to pitter, patter rain. "Looks like it may not end for some time. Now hows about a song Ms. Bard?" Strider smiled at her.

"Oh a song? I don't think i've ever heard you sing before Elistral. Come on please?" Jakeput his ears down and gave her a sad big eyed look.

Demios didn't speak and just sat eating bread. He was hungry after all his drinking.

"Why yes it is. Though we won't be able to use it. Black Powder can't be used when wet. Instead were going to use something much more potent. George did you bring it with you?" Reaper gave him a sinister look.

"No but it is back at the base ready for me. I wanted to make the barrier. I also didn't wnt them to get wet." George finished the last of the barrier. "Ok we're water proof. You can go in and out but water can't come in. Even the water on you."

Marie and Oni began to put up the tents and Reaper found a stump to sit on. He began to wonder what his enemy was doing.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:41 pm

((Lol, sorry, no inspiration whatsoever right now. XD))

Elistral was struck silent. "I, uh, have not done so in public too often. It's something I'm still getting used to." She said, averting her attention from Jake's innocent look to a pastry. "I've also left my lute with the Protectors."

Rore reached for a piece of pie, sliding it onto a plate and grabbing a fork. He felt ravenous and it smelled great. "Your singing can't be that bad." He chuckled. "Atleast better than mine. Plus it'll help pass the time."

Elistral nodded reluctantly, her face growing warm. "I suppose you're right there."

Gorash struck the match, glad that he could light a fire without having to worry about it exploding something. The powder tickled his nose and made him sneeze whenever he smelled it. Holding a match near it, and possibly dropping it, wouldn't be a good thing. He nudged it into the tinder and let it catch on the dry grass and leaves. After a minute of blowing on the small flicker of flame, it grew bigger, smoke floating upwards. Soon the fire was crackling nicely in the already dismal day.

"Soooo," Fenrir addressed Fate after what seemed like a long pause. "What's up with you?" He looked over at the gray smoke/cloud. "How's it been having your errand boy take a time off? I'd guess it would bug you, no being able to do these things yourself. Unless you like manipulating people, of course."

Fate's gasiuous body shook as if it had just woken up. "I'm sorry this form takes alot out of me. Um, no, it hasn't been to bad. Because of Mal's destruction peace has made my job easy. It would have been easier with you but I made due. Now you have about 30 min. and in that time I would say do what you have forgotten to do. Once you break is over then you won't have time. Good day." Fate dissappeared.

"Well then here." Strider summoned his staff and it became a lute. "Though if you want a piece of music would be fine. I just want to see how much you've improved since last I heard you play when you were younger." Strider smiled at her.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 11:36 am

Elistral couldn't help but let a smile come across her face too. "I said that I can try. If boredom will not kill you first." She reached over and took the lute-turned staff from Strider. It had been a long time since he, or Silvia, had heard her play the instrument. The strings let out a soft sound as she started to play. I just hope I still remember the tune, she thought more to herself, not quite sure if Strider had retained his mind-reading ability from when he wasn't mortal. She chose an easy tale that went with the lute's music. First it started with a hermit and his apprentice in the mountains, but as she sang, it went on that that the hermit was killed by an assassin and the apprentice went to find him for revenge. The assassin told the apprentice that a great beast had hired him to kill the old man, and the closets link was on the sea. So the apprentice found a captain who had knowledge of the beast, called a kraken. The kraken had once been a wizard until jealousy of the hermit's sweetheart had tunred him to cast a spell. It had backfired on the wizard, turning him into the sea beast who now terrorized ships and coast towns. The apprentice went with the sympathizing captain to where the beast lived, valiantly killing him. The apprentice went back to where the hermit's grave and hut was, glad his quest was over, and lived peacefully there. Years later, though, he simply disappeared into thin air, never seen again.

"Modest." Fenrir chuckled, shaking his head, done eating again. His hunger had went down to a reasonable level for now. He took out his pocket watch and flipped it open, yellow eyes following the second hand as he thought. "What have I forgotten to do...?" He asked himself. "What have--Oh!" A gleam came into his eyes and he went over to a drawer in one of the counters. Opening it, he started to rummage through what looked like junk or odd knick knacks. Shiny colored marbles, round acorns, different forms of currency including a silver coin with a man's face on one side and a bird of prey on the other, blackened volcanic rocks, even a sea shell or two could be found. Finally he found what he was looking for, a thin rectangle, box-like electronic. A strap was attached to one end, and the backside of the device had a darkened plastic screen. He held it up, pressed a button until a green light flashed briefly, and waited for the screen to take an image of the counter in front of him. He moved the device around, the screen's picture changing as the surroundings changed. "Ah, good ol' Sony. Always reliable when you need 'em!" He focused on Selena outside and zoomed in, pressing another button to freeze the picture before saving it. "I think this about sums up what I forgot to do."

Strider and everyone else in the bakery clapped. It was a good song. Don't worry you did fine. Strider winked at her to show he still had his powers of telepathy. "Now. lets talk of graver things. Reaper has returned and our path to him is being watched by many eyes. We cannot just walk up to him and face him like we did Mal. Unlike Mal he would run to fight another day. Instead we must make him come to us. Does anyone here have any suggestions?"

"Well what if we sit and wait for him to come with his army? We can build our own forces out of the closet towns and villages. I'm also sure that Demios here could lend us some military help." She gestured at Demios.

"I'm sorry to saw but that is quit untrue. I have my own uprising in my own lands to quell. My people have been lulled into Reaper's words and are on the brink of rebellion." Demios said with a grave look on his face. "I could spare some but not many i'm sorry to say."

"We won't find a force strong enough to fight him from these small towns and villages i'm afraid. Reaper has already to been to all of the towns in the area recruiting. Though no one has decided on the side yet. When Reaper comes swooping down to destroy a town all those swayed by his words will join him. Though not out of choice but out of fear." Jake had a saddened look on his face. "There is only one force left on this planet that Reaper has not touched. Though Strider hates to admit it." Jake looked at Strider. "Tell me how long have you been searching for them?"

"I know what you speak of and we shall not find any help from them. They disappeared for a reason and to answer your question i've been searching for over two thousand years for the Elves of the Old Alliance. Though we have one of them here I doubt she can remember far enough back to when her kin fled into shadow." Strider looked at Silvia.

"I'm sorry to say that it's true. My people went into hiding after the last war of the elves and I was supposed to be dead so they did that without me. The only place I can think of where they went is to the North mountain Imladris' peaks. Though where on the peaks still escapes my memory." Silvia looked out towards the North towards Imladris.

"Hmmm. I ask you Strider. Do we have any choice? If we cannot find the elves will we die?" Demios eyed him with a cold glance not being able to se his thoughts on his face.

Strider didn't look at Demios directly. He wasn't looking at any of them really. He was deep in his memory and it took some time for him to speak. He drew his cup to his mouth but didn't drink. "Yes." He said gravely and took a large gulp of his drink.

"Ahh. Fire it is beautiful. Don't you agree Oni?" Reaper smiled at him as he was putting up a tent.

Oni grunted. "Sure. Though not a fire so tamed. I'd prefer a good wild fire myself." He finished setting up a tent.

"What about you Gorash? What do you think of fire?" Reaper glanced at Gorash.
