Nodding and sighing thoughtfully, Scar didn't want to admit that she thought he was lying, there was just that guilty look in his eyes. Turning her own away from him, because her eyes betrayed her emotions as well, she said, "Well that's okay then..." She trailed off as the one guy she couldn't stand walked up to them.
Jason's pissed expression caused a smile to curve her lips, the girl on his arm was beautiful. Possibly one of the few she might go lesbian with, yeah she was that hot! Frowning she bit her lip and turned to face Brad. "Like I said earlier. I don't take pity dates besides its obvious you're busy." She was thinking of snooping around later with some of her friends and possibly anything about him. Where could she go? The library! Wait, what would that have that she could use? "Thanks though. I'll go alone. I'm still hungry." Scar told him with a light smile, though the hurt in her eyes was obvious. "Catch you around then?" She asked softly, her eyes averting from looking at him.

Things did tend to get mixed up at these functions, but really, his excuse was lame. He had wanted to know where she'd be because whether she liked it or not, he was gonna show up.
Brad hated seeing people sad. He hadn't helped, or saved Ellie, but he was definatly ttrying to make up for that with helping every single person he could.

Brad nodded. "Okay, well yeah.. Jacks is good." Jacks? Maybe he'd just follow Scarlette. And seem like a total creeper? Screw it, he didn't need food.
He'd just happen to be at the library or something..
"Oh, speaking of the library, I do need to get some books from there for psycology.." Brads biggest dream was becoming a social worker, or therapist. He wanted to make a difference.
A big one.
"Right yeah," Brad watched as she walked off and he closed up the back of his truck before getting in the drivers side. He turned on the truck and headed towards the library at a slower pace.
Why, everytime, he looked Scar in the eye, did his heart skip a beat? Why was she always flirting with him? Not that it was bad, but she could just do so much better. He was bad news.
Too horded up in his own little shell.
She deserved much better.
And since Brad was so caught up in his thoughts he had nearly crashed into the car in front of him as they slammed to a skidding stop at a red light.

Brad actually did need to get some books for a research paper. So, once he caught sight of the car that Scar drove, he parked right next to it before grabbing his notes and locking up the truck.
He dashed into the library, knowing full-well he should have dropped everything at home first. But he didn't. He was going to be a little reckless for an hour or so.
Its not like it was a bad town, who would want the stuff in the back of his truck anyway?
He wasn't paying attention and clumsily tripped over his foot, nearly knocking into Scar.
And, whereas, a lot of guys would do this on purpose as a lame pick up joke..he wasn't. It was an honest mistake.
Brad had been too caught up in thinking of something to say that wasn't cheesy when he tripped and almost sent her flying too.
"Sorry," He mumbled, feeling like a fool.
Especially when he realized who it was.
"Crap, Scar. Really, I am sorry."

Brads cheeks burned a dark auburn when she turned and smiled at him. When she beant over, he avoided his eyes from lingering on her perfect body and scratched the back of his neck.
"Oh," He merely sputtered when he said she liked it.
"Oh, uhm. I.. I can find them surely." He shrugged. "Just got here.. So I haven't really uh, looked yet." He was stuttering!
He never had this problem! Okay.. so that was just because he never talked to girls that he wanted to take out but couldn't.
The only people he really socialized with were people he worked with on charities and such.
Well, Scar was one of those people but it was different. Because? It just was!

Yeah, being a therapist was in the works. Or a doctor.

Brad was reaching for the books when Scarlette started flying forward. Just as she smacked his shoulder he grabbed her around the waist and hoisted her upright.
The books were across the floor, his hands still on her hips and their eyes locked. He felt the blood rush to his cheeks, barely even noticing hers. "I..." He mumbled as he beant over to pick up the books.
"Thanks.. ya know, for the help." He held them in one arm, scratched the back of his neck with his free hand.
