Izzayne rolled her eyes, her lips twitching at his tone. He was a bit of an idiot, an entertaining one at that. She chewed on more of her steak, savouring the tender meat. She swallowed and sat back, picking up her wine to sip it. Then she cradled it with both hands, apparently done with her meal.
"Good, I don't like being rushed." She answered quietly, raising the glass to her lips to drink some wine again. Her eyes fell about the room again, casting to her half empty plate before flicking up to Phraktos when he started choking. What? What had she done now? Or what had he eaten? She sat up straighter and set the glass down. "Phraktos?" She asked, aiming an amused yet disgruntled look at him. Choking himself over what? What had she said?
"Don't...get any ideas. It's just a lot more secure there." Afterthoughts were horrid at times.

Phraktos grinned at her rolling eyes. He went quiet, watching her sip her wine, savoring the taste. His eyes flitted to her plate, seeing that though she had left half of the steak there she was apparently done with it. So..she took care not to eat much..huh? Well she must not need to eat much. Phraktos shrugged, and continued with his meal, enjoying it. He could always take her bit of steak with him once they left. He'd probably get hungry enough to eat it later on, despite it being cooked a bit over what he normally liked.
"I'll have to keep that in mind." He replied cheerfully to her comment about not caring to be rushed. Most females usually didn't. They liked to think for themselves and not be forced into situations they hadn't carefully considered before hand. Males..were never given the same respect in most regards. Then again..in their society males were looked down upon and regarded as lesser beings, despite the fact that they were relied upon so much.
"I'm fine." Phraktos gasped in reply, then cleared his throat a bit. "I realize that. It's just my mind tends to go away from me too easily. Sorry." He added in a much clearer and contrite tone.

Izzayne kept her eyes on Phraktos, watching him study her plate with a cocked eyebrow. She wasn't exactly big and only ate what she needed. She never over-stuffed herself. Running on a full stomach was a hectic ordeal. He was looking slightly thoughtful as he eyed her food. She reached out and pushed the plate nearer to him in a surrendering of food motion. She wasn't going to touch it again.
He listened well. She examined her nails briefly, before looking to him again with a slight smile. She automatically viewed him as inept, as she was taught. But he was surprising her because of her low views of him. They had heightened, but old habits were hard to break completely. A glimmer of it remained.
" I suppose if the temptation is there then there's no helping it." She murmured, resting her arm on the back of the chair when she turnt her body slightly, propping a foot up on a bar between the legs of the chair. "Though if this comes from me just sitting here, You're going to die of over-excitement if we ever get that far." Scary things, she was careful to pull back from that too-far territory a little.

Phraktos eyed the plate that Izzayne had pushed towards him and pondered over whether or not he should indulge in more, at such a late time of night. He shrugged his shoulders as he submitted to the inner voice of his stomach, and pulled the plate in front of him and began to devour the rest of Izzayne's food with much gusto. He didn't eat noisily, or messily, but the air in which he ate was almost exaggerated, the sighs, the groans of delight and the small burp the erupted from his mouth at the end. "Excuse me." he told Izzayne, as he wiped the corners of his mouth and then leaned back in his chair to allow his full stomach more room to settle down.
When she spoke next, he was rather surprised by her words. "No, no helping it in the least bit." He interjected, and then was rather taken aback by her next words. "That's probably not far from the truth, seeing how I've reacted so far. I'll have to work on increasing my stamina so something like that doesn't happen when we do..go further in our relationship."
He was getting rather uncomfortable where the conversation was going, so Phraktos decided to get on with finishing the job they had begun. He stood up, stretched a little and then asked. "Would you like to get to work on copying the parchments then? If we can get it done within the next few hours, if we both work on it then we could be in bed..separately before it gets too much later."

Izzayne watched him with an air of observation, not even phased by it. She had brothers, this had been commonplace at the dinner table of her house, especially when her parent's were absent. She nodded when he apologised and smiled a little, petting her skirt down a little more in distraction. She was full, the meal was surprisingly good and Phraktos seemed to enjoy it. Admittedly, she had never eaten here.
"Mmm..Yes." She answered in a distracted manner, her eyes down on the table as she crossed her arms over her chest, her leg crossed over the other resting, the foot kicking forward a small amount in a rhythm. Her cheeks darkened. "Being realistic here, but it's still an if, Tos. I like you, yes. But...I could get scared and run." She answered, her eyes casting to the door in thought.
She snapped her gaze over to him when he talked about the recipes, nodding and unfolded her arms, rose to her feet. "Yes, let's get going then, please." She answered, going to the door and unlocking it, pulling it open. "My home is about a ten minute walk away."

Phraktos reveled in her watchful gaze, but made sure not to make any outward signs of it. He couldn't help but notice the habit she had of patting her skirt down when she was trying not to show how nervous she was. It rather amused him. Nervous habits people possessed were something he enjoyed watching.
"Uh...right. I'll try and tone it down a bit. I do tend to get a bit ahead of myself. If you get scared..just put me in my place and tell me to lay off. Walloping me over the head usually suffices." he told her with a shrug..noticing her sudden glance at the door. He really did not want to scare her into running..that would not work for him in the least bit..not when he felt the way he did about her.
"By all means, mistress Izzayne please lead the way." he replied, getting up from the table and following her to the door.
They made their way up the stairs and into the backroom that the proprietor had lead them into before, and then out into the now nearly empty bar. There were a few lone drunken individuals still in a few stools by the bar, and a few scowling bar wenches grumbling in the corner of the establishment apparently complaining about the tips they had received for the night. Phraktos and Izzayne were met by the proprietor as they neared the entrance of the building, and Phraktos left a few choice words with the man about his choice of atmosphere before they exited the building.

" You don't scare me, Phraktos." Izzayne answered simply, shrugging her shoulders once as she got up. He just confused her and made her nervous to a tiny degree, nothing like fear. She was scared of the feelings, just not him in general. She sent him an amused look as his choice of words as he rose and followed.
"Of coarse, Lord Phraktos." She joked, walking up the stairs and into the main tavern area. She cast a look around before heading to the door, walking ahead of Phraktos when the proprietor met them. She smirked when she overheard their conversation. Oh dear, she wasn't that skittish. Stupid Oaf. She shook her head a little and walked out of the tavern, making sure he followed as she walked left and down the street. She passed down a couple of alleyways before coming to a halt in front of a building. He was following was all she assumed as she pushed open the main door and stepped into the warm hallway.
"Shut the door behind you, Tos." Izzayne called back to him, leaving it standing open so he could enter. Walking across the hallway and past the staircase she walked under it and stopped in front of a door, taking out a key and unlocking the door. She lived in small dwellings on her own. It was cosy and she loved the freedom. Her family checked in on her repeatedly. The room she entered was the main one, a few squishy seats set in a corner, a desk along a wall with an unlit candle and a wooden-backed chair set infront of it. The room had trinket after trinket stacked in it. Glittering ornaments and jewellry lay around, a few chests containing more so were set around in a decorative manner. Izzayne was a pack rat when it came to the pretties. two doors set along the left wall and the wall by the desk. One led to her bedroom.
"Make yourself at home, but keep your hands off of my trinkets. Please." She warned. He was the first outsider to enter her home in a long while.

Phraktos was rather relieved when Izz told him she wasn't afraid of him. Well..that was a relief. Though..it got him to thinking. Why had she said she was scared? Perhaps it was the strange, new and exciting feelings that she was experiencing that she was afraid of. Things had gotten pretty intense too soon. Phraktos figured that he'd better slow things down and not express too many heartfelt feelings too soon. That would probably be too much too soon for her. Ah..it was soo much work figuring out who to act around females! Maybe he should just try and forget the feelings and just act like he normally did around her..that way she'd get to know him for who he was. ANd..things wouldn't get too intense. That was one good thing about being a goofball..one could make light of situations without revealing too much too soon.
He was rather happy to hear her joke as she walked up the stairs. A goofy grin spread across his face and he couldn't help but chuckle a little at her words.
He felt almost like a pet monkey as he followed after her down the street, walking in a slow amble after her. Having such long legs made it easy to follow after her and not have to increase his pace at all. He was rather glad that her place wasn't too far away..he was starting to get rather sleepy and in need of rest. Hopefully they would be able to copy the recipe without too much work and then he'd be able to head off to get some much needed sleep.
He zoned out a bit..though his eyes stayed on her and his body followed after her. It was sort of..what some called an out of body experience. Phraktos referred to it as zombie mode. He had actually seen an army of them before..and they had been rather amusing to watch; at least from a distance. No one ever wanted to get close to a zombie mob. He shuddered at the thought.
"As you wish Madame," He automatically replied hearing Izz's next words. Then he was pulled out of his zombie state with a start. He turned and shut the door behind him and followed her over to the doorway underneath the staircase. He peered up at it waiting patiently as she got her key out and unlocked the door. He followed her in and was immediately struck by the layout of the room he walked into.
It was rather simple, with a few comfortable seats in a corner, a desk and trinkets and treasures stacked everywhere. Truly this was what a thief's residence looked like. Phraktos eyed the many ornaments and jewellry laying about...trying to get an idea of what type of stuff Izzayne might like. It was certainly a great way of getting inside the mind of a picky female's taste.
"As you wish Mistress Izz," Phraktos replied in a low voice, gazing around the room taking in the massive collection she had. "This is nice..much like my own place. Though...most of my jewelry is safely tucked away in a safe box." He added with a gesture towards the finery laying out all over the room.

Izzayne shifted some of the gold jewellry near a chest aside, then second guessed and picked it up, stuffing the pile inside and locking it. She simply had too much to lock away. She needed to sell some but...they were her pretties. She had to have something at least feminine lying around. Even if that something was too much and spanned over eight big chest fulls. She had more in her bedroom, though that was locked away in a cupboard alongside her more intricate clothing. She unclipped her belt and set it down on the desk, winding down for the day.
"I have yet to buy another couple of safes to put them in. I have a bit too much." She answered, looking a bit sheepish as she pulled the recipe out and set it down on the seats. "Sit, I'll get some paper and things so we can copy the recipe down." She said with a smile, unlocking and opening a drawer on her desk. She reached in and rifled about, pulling out two sheets of paper and writing equipment. He was...well. She turned and observed him. With his clothing he fit in with her treasure-splattered dwellings. She stood there, staring for a few minutes before slowly pulling herself out of it. Damn. She was slipping, the kiss had gotten to her. She remembered it, maybe even lamented the fact she hadn't responded. A part of her had wanted to.
She walked over to the seats and sat down, making herself comfortable. She was comfortable around him and so quickly. It was an odd feeling. She trusted him and that scared her, these feelings scared her. She didn't want to give in so quickly and regret it, or get scared of it. Things like this shouldn't be rushed, just in case. Her gaze turned to him again and she found herself watched him again, still gripping the paper and writing things in her hands. Damn, how was she meant to concentrate?
"Right..." Her voice trembled a little in her indecisiveness. She cleared her throat and set the paper and writing things down on the small, square table set near the seats. "Let's get this done then." There, that sounded better. Her voice was steady. She patted the seat next to her, inviting him to sit.

Phraktos watched her shift some jewelry around, amusement dancing in his eyes. She definitely liked the pretty stuff..she had gads of them! So she was a hoarder. He bet she had a lot more in her sleeping quarters as well. He couldn't help if she just collected them because she liked having them around her or if she actually wore any of the jewelry in her possession. Maybe now she would.
"Ah..I see. I get that way too sometimes. I hoard sometimes until the clutter gets to be too much and then I sell some of them off..or move them to a more secure place." he replied with a knowing grin.
He watched her her go through her desk retrieving the items they would need to copy the recipe down. She was so beautiful...the whiteness of her outfit contrasting sharply against her dark skin. He smiled at her when she turned to observe him...wondering what she was thinking. He waited patiently as she continued to stare at him, feeling the exertions of the day slowly creep up on him as his body began to grow tired.
She stopped staring a strange look passing over her face..maybe she had gone off into a trance? Phraktos figured that if she wanted him to know she would share it with him. She made her way over to the seats and sat down. he was rather surprised when she patted the seat next to her and invited him to join her. Phraktos closed his eyes momentarily and rubbed his face before he replied.
"Actually..I think I can get more work done over here. No offense or anything Izz..I'm getting pretty tired from my chase." He walked over to the chair opposite of her and bounced a little to test it out. It definitely was comfortable. "though..with how comfortable this chair is..I might end up passing out before we finish copying the recipe down." He added with a slight laugh.

Izzayne looked at Phraktos when he spoke. He was looking pretty worn out. She nodded and smiled as she watched him take a seat opposite her. "They are comfy." She agreed, spreading the papers containing the recipe across the table. "If anything, we can do it tomorrow?" She asked absently, getting to work on copying the recipe down.
Luckily with him across from her she could focus on working and was half way through in no time, completely silent. Her gaze flicked up to him again, fighting off distraction. He was intriguing. His personality could be funny cute, she supposed. He was amusing. She stifled a yawn with one hand, feeling the day catch up with her all at once. Emotional and Physical exhaustion combined was always a surefire way to a good nights sleep. She liked this.
"You'll be fine...getting to where you're staying? Or are you going back home?" She asked absently, rubbing an eye with the back of her hand before lowering her hand back to the paper to keep writing.

Phraktos blinked..his eyelids were getting kind of heavy. But he figured it would be smarter to finish the job now than to wait another day. He fought back the sleepy feeling that washed over him and widened his eyes and then rubbed them with his fingers to wake himself up a bit. "That they are, but it would be better to get this done now. That way..the next time we see each other it won't have to be focused on the job. It can be something a lot more personal and fun." he replied with a light smile, as he picked up a pen and pulled a piece of paper over to him, and glanced over her to read the recipe at an angle. If he hadn't been so much taller it probably would have been harder to read over her shoulder.
His left hand flew over the page, as his eyes flickered over the recipe taking it in as quickly as he could. He paused to yawn in response to her own, placing his right hand over his mouth to stifle it. Gods..he was barely holding on to wakefulness. If he didn't finish it soon, he'd be camped out in her quarters sleeping the night away..and that would not be a good idea. He didn't want to darken her reputation in any manner..and sleeping over would definitely do that.
"Uh ye--aaahwn---s." He replied..yawning again in the middle of his reply. "I should be fine..You wouldn't happen to have any herbs that could help me stay awake for a little while longer would you?" He asked, as his hand flew across the page at a slightly slower pace as tiredness started to catch up with him. "I probably won't be able to get back to House iv'Ress without something to wake me up a bit. I won't be returning to Gaullidurth for another couple of days."

Izzayne's pen stilled on the paper when Phraktos spoke, she receded into thought at his words. Fun time together. Nice. Personal time together. Maybe nice? She wasn't sure. She flicked her gaze up to his sleepy face and smiled a little nodding. "I'd like that." She said quietly in a light tone, her hand flying across the paper again as she copied the recipe down. it as a pretty thoughtless task, not requiring some manic brain power which was nice in their current drowsy state.
She had no clue on what to do if he fell asleep here. Locking her room would be one, because Izzayne was irrational like that. Inventory another. Again, an irrational response. But what would her landlord say? He was used to her being a reclusive little thing. She didn't bring friends over because she did not have any she wanted to invite over. Her eyes rose to peer at Phraktos when he yawned. She needed to stop this, especially if he was that close to crashing.
"Yes, I have some." She answered, getting up and wandering over to one of the many chests tucked away in the room. She opened it and rifled around a little, pulling out a smaller chest and opening it. She pulled out the herbs needed and set everything back in it's place before going back over to him, holding the herbs out while still standing. He wasn't going back straight away? "Because of the recipe sales?" She asked, still denying that she played any part in him wanting to stay. She couldn't believe that just yet.

Phraktos turned to give her a sleepy happy grin...his eyes small slits and barely showing. "Then we shall have to make plans for a time and place to meet after this." He replied, pausing his writing. Then he picked it up again once he turned his eyes back to the page.
Though Phraktos was starting to crash as was Izzayne, he could see the wheels in her head start to turn about him ending up falling asleep at her place of residence. He held back a laugh, when she immediately went to get some herbs for him. Of course..she would be a little embarrassed thinking about having a such a male sleeping under her roof! After all..he she really didn't know him all that well...yet. Phraktos figured that would be a good thing to do the next time they got together.
He gratefully took the herbs from her and chewed them slowly, waiting for them to kick in. It didn't take long. In moments, he was as alert as he had been that morning. Maybe he had taken too much. He shrugged it off, and stuck the quill pen back into the inkpot and began writing again..his hand flying across the page with ease and quickness he hadn't had before. "Uh partly because of that..but because of other things as well." Phraktos answered, shooting a glance over at her head which bent over her paper as she copied.
Ah..finally! He was finished! He laid the quill down a few moments later and blew on the paper to dry the ink so it wouldn't smear.
"Do you have any writing dust? It will age the ink and keep it from smearing or...running should anything get spilled on it. If you don't I'll just do it at the House."

Izzayne nodded to his reply, finishing off her writing. There, done. She left it laid out on the table so the ink could dry as she potted the quill in the ink pot for now. She'd clear up properly later. When things had settled down and she wasn't feeling so sleepy.
Izzayne chewed on a small wad of herbs herself, just enough to keep her awake for a few more hours. She needed to actually sleep tonight. Depending on things tomorrow could be a lazy day she supposed. She felt awfully accomplished today. She was indeed embarrassed about the prospect of him staying over, thus when he regained energy she let relief sweep over her for a few moments. Nothing to have to explain away now, she supposed.
She kept chewing on the herbs, feeling a lot more energised as they kicked in. She loved these herbs for the fast working, they didn't taste too bad either. A smile settled on her lips as she watched Phraktos, one leg crossing over the other. "I see." She answered, having bent her head over her work to see if it had dried yet. It needed a little while longer.
She looked up when he spoke, a thoughtful expression on her face. She didn't think she did, actually. "No, I don't really have a need for it as it is." She apologised, looking mildly annoyed at her lack of writing dust. Great.
