Aodh had simply had the urge to stretch his wings tonight--he hadn't expected to stumble upon his mom's tribe. Clan. Thing. It'd been a while since he'd seen her and the clan, so it wouldn't hurt to stop in. His family wasn't expecting him back for a while yet, anyway.
He landed at the edge of the group, so the wind of his landing wouldn't bother anyone too much. He quickly spotted his mom--by far the largest fox there--with two other vixens. It took him a minute, but he finally realized that one was Aki, the mother of Sparkles, Rai's mate. And the other..."You're one of my younger sisters?" The purple matched mom, but the markings were nothing like hers, so he was a bit unsure there."Yes. Her name is Talya. Talya, this is Aodh, one of my three older sons, about whom I have told you." It was surprising to see Aodh here, for Rina knew that her son did not share her passion for wandering. But as one of her children, he, like Talya, was welcome to stay with the clan for a while, should either of them so chose.
"It would be even more foolish for you to leave now, as malnourished and exhausted as you are," Rina pointed out to Talya. She could not possibly allow her daughter to leave in such a condition.
Talya's report was about what Rina was expecting, that none of the children knew what the others were doing, but there had been no harm by asking."Talya, huh. Nice to meet you. So what're you doing around here? You gonna join the clan?" Aodh asked as he flopped down by his mother and younger sister. He was pretty sure she wasn't a part of the clan, anyway, since he couldn't see the medallion, but he could be overlooking it, too--it was dark out, after all, and he definitely wasn't any kind of night person like Uncle Ari was.

"Hey! Shut up!" Beryl hissed at her sister, tail flicking in agitation as she glanced up at the sky; crud, where was Big Daddy?
Grumbling lowly in aggravation, Beryl started walking again...which was also annoying, because her feet and legs hurt. A lot. Why wouldn't Zoicite let her make Malachite come? 'Girls only', she said. Dummy.
She shook off her annoyance, though, as they came over the crest of a hill; there was a big fox with wings down there, talking to two vixens, it looked like--that had to be Big Daddy!
"Big Daddy!" Beryl called as she started half-falling, half-running down the hill. She heard Zoicite next to her and grinned, letting herself pick up her pace.
But she screeched to a stop just in time, unlike Zoicite--who crashed right into her. "Hey! Ow!" Beryl whined, biting at Zoi's ear before untangling herself quickly.
...Oh, damn it all. That was Grandmama, it had to be! Little Daddy said she was an Elder of a Tribe and this had to be her. Aw, maaaan. Stupid Zoicite!
"Oh, um, er. Hi, Grandm-Elder...ess?" Beryl flubbed quickly, sending a pleading look to her Big Daddy--one that clearly said 'help me'.
"Woops," Zoicite said with a shrug, flicking her bit ear absently as she stood up and shook herself off. "Hi, Big Daddy," Zoicite said, preferring to leave her sister stew in her awkwardness as she leaned over to nuzzle Big Daddy's cheek.
"And hello Grandmama Elder Rina," Zoicite said with a bright smile to Rina--hey, they kinda looked alike! Except, woaaah, Grandmama had awesome tattoos. Zoi wanted those. "Sorry to...well, just sorry. We saw Big Daddy and..." Zoi trailed off, finally noticing the black and purple fox laying next to Grandmama. She looked tired, like Beryl did. Zoi, being of lots of energy (unlike both of her parents and all her siblings), didn't quite get it, but oh well.
"Hi!" Zoi greeted happily, offering a big smile to the vixen and the fox the vixen had been talking to. "I'm Zoicite, and that's my sister Beryl. That's our Big Daddy and your Elder--er, well, that Elder--" Zoicite corrected herself, noticing the lack of pretty necklace thing around the black and purple vixen's neck or tail, "is our Grandmama, 'cause she's Big Daddy's Mama," Zoicite explained quickly.
Just in case it wasn't obvious.
Beryl groaned. "Oh, my 'Dieties, stop talking," she begged of her sister, shaking her head as she dropped her head. How often she wished her sister had an OFF button.
"Sorry," Beryl mumbled after a minute, though, looking back up at her grandmother. "We didn't mean to intrude..." Even if that's exactly what they both did, at least she had the decency to apologize for it. Stupid Zoicite.

Before she could even blink, she was surrounded by yet even more strangers. Two of them were loud and...well, kind of annoying. Why today? Why any of this?
"Hi," she told them shortly, resisting the urge to get up and just leave. She was usually very social and outgoing, but she was exhausted and irritable and just plain old upset today. Mother didn't care and now she was surrounded by more family.
Tal couldn't help but notice the bitter tone in her head when she thought about family now.
Well, no reason to take it out on her...sibling...and...nieces? "Er, sorry," she apologized. "Nice to meet you, big brother," she said with a weak smile. And he was very big. "And you guys too," she added to Zoicite and Beryl.
There, she'd been nice.

Nephrite, who had been lagging behind her faster sisters, finally caught up with her family, and sat down next to Big Daddy. She and Jadeite had been close enough to hear everything, so she knew who everyone was. "Hello Aunt Talya, Grandmama Elder Rina. This is Jadeite, and I am Nephrite."
Never one much for words, Nephrite then settled in next to Big Daddy. "Hi Auntie Talya and Grandma Rina!" Nephrite had already introduced her, so it wasn't like she had much else to say.
Except then she noticed the marks on Grandma Rina's tail. Were those scars? Jadeite knew it was rude to stare, but she couldn't help it. She wanted to know what those marks were, and where Grandma Rina had gotten them. She bet that Grandma Rina had a really cool story to go with them, like, like...she'd fought off a shark, or something!Aodh was glad to see his kids, don't get him wrong, but he really wasn't sure what his mother's reaction to them would be. She was always so serious, while the girls were her complete opposite--playful and hyper.
"Where are Malachite and Kunzite?" he finally asked, when it became clear those two weren't simply lagging behind, as Jadeite and Nephrite had done."They stayed home with Little Dad," Nephrite informed Big Dad.
She also gave Jadeite a nudge, to try to make her triplet stop staring.Rina watched her granddaughters in silence for a few minutes. She had known that, in the matter of personality, Aodh had taken more after his other mother, but these girls seemed more exuberant than their father still. While Rina had never met Aodh's mate, she imagined he had to be an extremely vivacious modifox.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Beryl, Zoicite, Nephrite, and Jadeite, and I regret that I have yet to meet Malachite and Kunzite. Perhaps I will be able to meet them at some future point," Rina said pointedly at Aodh. She was curious to see what his other two children were like, if they took more from him, or from his mate. Thus far, Jadeite seemed to be the only one who took after her, rather than either Rajasai, or Aodh's mate.
"Yes, Nephrite?" she asked, noticing that the girl was staring at something on her body."UmIwasjustkindofwonderingwhatthatonyourtailisandwhereitcamefrom," Nephrite mumbled out in one long word, as the white fur of her face turned a brilliant scarlet."I beg your pardon?" Between the speed and the low tone Nephrite had used, Rina could hardly understand a word she had said."I was wondering what that on your tail is and where it came from," Nephrite mumbled again, but at a much slower pace this time."My scars came from an encounter with a mountain lion," Rina said, in a tone that said she thought that incident to be of little importance.

"Woahhh, a mountain lion!" Beryl and Zoicite said in unison, their eyes growing wide.
"Didja beat it? That's so cool! When? How old were you? Did you have help? Were you all alone? Did it hurt?" Beryl started to ask, but she quickly tried to reign herself in.
"Er...I mean, um..." Beryl started, blushing hotly. "Um...you musta been really brave is all I meant..." She glanced at Big Daddy and felt her ears droop--he didn't look happy to see them.
"Was it a big mountain lion?" Zoi asked as her sister finished rambling--Beryl liked to pretend she was better than the other two, or older or something, but Zoicite knew otherwise.
"If you want, Grandmama Elder Rina, I could run back and get the boys..." But she didn't really want to, and it was supposed to be a girl's day, but if Grandmama really wanted to meet Little Daddy and Malachite and Kunzite...

Talya looked around tiredly at all the new faces. Supposedly this was her family...but none of them felt like family. And seeing the hyper attitude of her nieces just made Tal feel old all of a sudden. She wasn't, not by a long shot, but the girls just seemed no naive allof a sudden.
This was too much for Talya right now. The vixen heaved herself back up onto her feet and gave the others a quiet "excuse me" before padding away to escape the sudden increase in noise.
Talya hated being so depressive and a partykill, but she couldn't help it anymore. It seemed like the people around her had everything. Mother had her tribe, Daddy had his wings and Uncle Tio, her nieces had parents that loved them...so what had she done so wrong to be the one in the family people forgot about?
Ugh. All she wanted to do was be happy again, and it seemed like being here wasn't going to help that at all. Annoyed at herself for being such a downer, Talya sat at the edge of the Clan and watched the trees around them, at a loss for anything else to do.

His daughters and mother seemed to be getting along fine. But Talya--his younger half sister was a stranger to him, but he was going to go out on a limb and say something was bothering her.
Excusing himself from the group as well, he followed after Talya.
"You alright?" he asked once he had caught up to her, tilting his head to one side.
Seemingly unfazed by the rapid-fire questions, Rina began to answer each of them in turn: "I escaped from it with my life, so I consider it a victory. It happened a long time ago--before I formed the Clan. No, I did not have any help, and yes, I was all by myself--I wandered alone back in those days. Yes, it did hurt rather a lot," and not even the remembered pain of the injuries severe enough to have left their marks on her body for all time was enough to break Rina's stoic character, "it was about average in height for a mountain lion, but it was very thin." It was surprising that the girls were asking so much about the incident in question--their father did not have as much curiosity as they did. That was a difference she was pleased to note.
"I would very much like to meet the rest of your family, if it would not be too much trouble to fetch them." She knew that others were not as used to traversing large distances as she, and so she would be considerate of her guests, if it so happened that the others were far away.
"Na-uh it's not a big deal at all Grandmama Elder Rina, everyone else is just over that ways a bit and it'll take Zoicite no time at all to go find them and bring them back it'll be like--ow! Nephrite, that's mean!"
"You said to stop you if you started rambling again," Nephrite calmly told her triplet.
Jadeite looked crestfallen. "But that hurt!"
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."

The seasons have turned, and life in the Clan has changed as well--most of Rina's family seem to have gone back to their homes, with one or two exceptions. Jadeite, curious about 'Grandmama Elder Rina' and her Clan, has stuck around, and, with her vivid imagination, has shown signs of possibly becoming an Entertainer for the Clan, using it to spin stories for them.
Other than the possible new member, life has continued as usual, as the Clan continue their nomadic lifestyle, wandering from place to place.
Currently, they have set up camp in foothills, in the shadow of a great mountain range. While it is becoming cold, as the seasons turn to fall, the hills provide some shelter and warmth from the coming cold.

Maylea frowned as she looked around and then up at the mountains ahead of her. She shivered once and then started moving forward again. She tried to keep rational and level headed, but she was excited. Ever since her chat with Boris she was looking forward to seeing what the world was like. The only bad thing about all of this was that Maylea had no idea which way to go. She did have enough common sense to know that she would have to find a tribe, or a place to survive the winter, or she would have to keep moving. Winter was coming and coming fast and staying in one place all winter didn’t seem all that appealing alone, so that left two options. Find a tribe and ask to stay with them for a season, or travel and hope that she could figure out how to survive alone in unfamiliar lands. She shook her head and hoped she wouldn't be spending the winter all alone. One thing Maylea didn't like was being lonely.

It had taken him much, much longer than he had ever wanted to. Really.. he'd not had any excuses other than not being able to make up his mind. His mate had been with the tribe before they'd had their kits, but he still couldn't decide back then if he wanted to join. He regretted it now, really. He hadn't seen Aki in so long, and Kaki with him was all grown up now. He didn't even remember his mother, and truly it was a shame.
It was a shame he didn't really know where to look for the wandering Clan though. he did remember snippets of where Aki had said their homeland was, but well he doubted they would be there. Perhaps it was just luck then that his wandering led him towards an area filled with the scent of other foxes. One of them ringing a familiar bell in his mind. "Come Kaki, I think we're about to find a group ahead. Perhaps they can lead us in the right way."
Kaki groaned lightly, picking up a paw to shake a small rock out from between the pads. "Are we there yet?" yes, he'd been grown up for a while not but some childish habits stayed strong. Annoying his father was just one of them. Besides, he wanted to be there now and meet his mother again. It was boring just following his dad all over the place though. There was nothing to do, and not even anybody interesting to meet! That was a crime in itself.

After so long of the tribe [being/remaining/WORDS] its current small size, one day Rina was startled to see not one, but three, new foxes approaching where the tribe had set up its camp at the base of their mountain, in the homeland.
Two of the foxes looked familiar, as though they could be family to Aki. As for the third, she appeared to be a complete stranger. She was no one Rina could remember having met before, or having heard of before. Nor did she bear any familial resemblance to anyone in the tribe, as did the two male strangers.
The two males might want to spend time with their family, but Rina did not know for what purpose the vixen came, and so it was to the vixen to whom Rina first approached.
"Hello," Rina called out, as she approached the girl. "I am Rina, Elder of the Gypsy Clan. Who might you be?"
The other female bore no signs of tribe affiliation, nor even any modification. She did appear to have wandered far, but that meant little; the Clan's homeland was far from the settlements of other foxes, and from other tribes, so it was only natural that one would have to walk a great distance to come to this place.
Beyond those two facts, there was little Rina could discern about the stranger, and so she could only simply wait for the other to speak to her.

May stopped and starred in amazement. This was an elder? She was as big as a phim! Realizing she was starring May looked down at her front paws. “I’m Maylea. I’m sorry for starring Gypsy elder.” She nodded her head with respect. She noticed others and was amazed by the males’ colors. She felt a bit nervous but she was a passionate soul and she had something she wanted out of life. Looking back up at Rina she decided to voice her thoughts. “umm Miss Elder if possible could I talk you went you aren’t busy with things? It’s not that important, but I do have something that I would like to discuss.” She was trying to figure out what was the nicest way to ask if she could stay with the tribe for a season or perhaps find a location of a tribe that she could do so. Gypsy. That tribe name sounded familiar to her. May was wracking her brain to figure out where she had heard of it before. Was that the name of the tribe her mother had told her about? May wasn’t 100% sure but if this was that tribe she would find a place in. Was gypsy the tribe that traveled or did she have that wrong?

Tybalt had been slowly catching up to the Gypsy Clan since he started tracking them. Single foxes normally moved faster than large groups as a general rule, and this situation was no different. Or at least it wouldn’t be if Tybalt hadn’t stopped to conduct his experiments. Spring and summer were the best times to work with flowers, though, so he had kept getting distracted. It was fall now, though, and he had perfected his paste for relaxation, freeing up his time for tracking the Clan.
Finally Tybalt had found them, nestled in some foothills under a large mountain. Picking his footing carefully, he headed into the gathering of foxes, spotting two brightly colored foxes just ahead of him. Music note earring tinkling lightly in his ear, Tybalt picked up his pace in order to catch up.
"Hello," he said to them, giving a small smile. "Are you part of the Clan? Or are you two hoping to join as well?"
