A Girls Night Out

Xai sets up a little playdate with a girl named Victoria for Evari behind her back. She was skeptical of how such a thing could turn out...until she saw where the playdate was.

Since Victoria had no idea what the two of them should do, Evari took the initiative and decided they would do back downstairs to the club and dance with the adults. If the adults can do it why can't they? Of course there's other things the adults can do that Evari gives the same logic too. What a funny drink!

DANCING THROUGH LIFE

"You're in a very perky mood today. Did you have fun last night?" Xai asked with a smile as she walked into the house with Evari. Evari's eyes were closed but she had a huge grin on her face, singing quietly as she danced through the door and into the living room area. It was nice to see her like this, especially when the girl had seemed so skeptical about that playdate in the first place! She never got an answer from Evari and merely shrugged, closing the door and heading into the kitchen. Now that she was along Evari really started to dance and sing. It was this really cool lady who sung about random stuff! Roxy had introduced her to this music...her name was um...hm...what was her name again? Evari stopped dancing and blinked, going quiet as she wandered out of the room and down the hall and into her room. She'd bought a CD of her music because she'd liked the lady and how her music sounded, now where was it...ah! Here it was! Evari grinned and held up the Lady Gaga CD with her picture on the front, walking over to a slot in the wall on the other side of the room. It was a built in entertainment system. It was Ursontaean technomumbojumbo, but Evari just called it the 'entertainment system'; there was a screen in the wall, and somehow the sound just...came out of the walls themselves. But it was only in this room so she could play it as loud as she wanted and no one would hear. Apparently the only thing that could be heard from inside the room was a loud explosion! But Evari didn't know that. She hadn't been on that side of the door when that happened.

She gently pushed the CD into the slot in the wall and put the case down, pressing a few buttons that lit up onto the wall itself and...

Hold her hand through the black light
Baby it's a forest land of trick slides
Honey just take your time
Close her eyes

Yay! It worked! This was one she hadn't heard yet...huh. Kinda slowish for her tastes but she'd give it a try! She liked this Lady Gaga lady, and she liked Roxy! Neither of them could steer her wrong. She pressed the lights off and grinned down at herself. Heeeeee! She was glowing so brightly still! She barely remembered parts of last night but she did remember dancing, and music, and a strange colored drink that tasted just awful...so she wanted to make up for not remembering it. And so she started to dance again, closing her eyes and moving this way and that around her room with the music.

"I'm scared," she whispered
As she wants to hide
Into a back room where

"She paints on a smile~. She hears a sound, she hears a sound~." Evari sang along with the music, giggling with delight. That was fun! She wanted to do it more! But this song wasn't as fun as she'd like...hm...there was another she knew she liked on here. What was it again? She stopped dancing and wandered back to the wall, pressing a hand against the wall until a list appeared with words on it. Where was it...oh! Poker Face! There it was! Evari cheered and tapped her finger against that title, cheering again when the song blared through the walls. This was more Evari's speed. "I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas plays~. Fold 'em, let 'em, raise it baby stay with meee~." She giggled. This was fun! Some of these lyrics she didn't quite understand, especially when it got to...bluffin' with her muffin? How do you bluff with a muffin? She didn't get it but...whatever. She continued to dance, deciding to put the song on repeat so she could keep singing it and try and figure out these crazy lyrics. At one point she slipped on a stray article of clothing she had left on the floor the day before, gasping and falling backwards...but she caught herself on her hands and managed to spin on her feet to face downward and then hopped back up onto her feet again all in one swift move.

...Whoa. Evari blinked and just stared down at herself, picking up the shirt she had slipped on and tossing it on her bed. How did...how did she do that? She leaned back with an arm extended behind her, falling back on it and naturally lifting one of her legs into the air as she did...and then keeping the momentum going to keep going backward with her foot over her head until she was standing on that foot again and then the other. Whoa! That was fun! She'd never danced like that before! Evari grinned and pushed herself to the side with her toes, landing on the ball of her other foot and doing a little turn, her arms moving in a circle in front of her as she spun again. This was so much more fun than just randomly flailing and jumping around! She was actually dancing! Like...real-ish dancing! Hahaha! The song stopped playing on repeat, apparently it had a limit of ten repetitive plays before the system decided it wanted to play a totally different artist entirely; that was fine with Evari as long as she got to dance and sing. She didn't recognize the words to this one so she decided to just dance some more, following along with the beat as best as she could. It had a weird beat but she eventually got the hang of it soon enough...sort of...she got it as best as any kid her age could get it. She experimented with her dancing, seeing what would happen if she did this or that or moved her arms like this while her legs did something else.

This was probably the most fun she'd ever had by herself! She just had to show Xai!

Evari didn't bother turning on her lights or pausing her music, running to the door and shoving it open so she could just run down the hall and to the living room where Xai was fiddling with a weird looking object and muttering equations to herself, her data ring whirring and spinning like a disc being scanned. She stopped for a moment to just watch the alien, blinking and tilting her head a little. Oops...maybe now was a bad time. She may have made it a 'rule' that all attention should be on her but even Evari had a natural instinct of self-preservation; that object looked like it would hurt someone if Xai messed it up. It took several minutes but Evari's glowing did catch Xai's attention without her even needing to do or say anything, so she blinked a few times and stopped what she was doing to look up and over at her charge. "Yes, Evari?" Evari giggled and clapped her hands, a few sparks shimmering around them and making little popping sounds.

"Can we dance?" She asked very excitedly, bouncing on her toes and clasping her hands together under her chin, staring at Xai with huge eyes and a pleading look. Xai blinked. Dance? Together? Them? Of Evari's own free will?

"Um...alright~." Wow! This was great! Xai loved to dance, and if Evari wanted to dance with her then that was even better! Evari cheered, throwing her arms up in the air and giggling. The pair went back to Evari's room where the music was still playing very loudly, spending the rest of the day except for when they had to eat just...dancing!

Evari is enjoying a fun day at the arcade with Xai when she sees an unfamiliar boy win the jackpot tickets in a really hard game. She...'asks' him to help her with a game, beats him at a few rounds of DDR, and then conveniently suggests he buy her a prize with some of his tickets. What a brat.

IT'S NOT FAIR!

Stupid Xai. Stupid deer girl. Stupid house. Stupid Curio shop. Stupid everything! Evari slammed the door to the house and whimpered, hiccupping and wiping at her eyes as she ran from the house and just in any random direction. She didn't know where she was going, and frankly she didn't care, all that mattered was that she was away from that house and the jerks inside. The glowing girl cried as she ran, the sleeve of her shirt getting wetter and wetter the more the wiped at her face. Any minute now she'd hear Xai's voice calling out to her and see the alien chasing after her, begging for forgiveness and apologizing for even considering abandoning her and replacing her with some stupid boring little girl with pretty blonde hair and a weird body like a deer or something who cried a lot just like Ryan. No way! There was no way she would allow someone anything like Ryan to live in her house and call themselves her 'sister'. She didn't even give permission for Xai to do something like this! It wasn't fair! What did Xai need another kid for?! It...it wasn't fair!

Evari was sobbing by the time she got to a park she didn't even recognize, leaning against it on a side that was surrounded with bushes and sliding down it with her back against the tree until she was sitting on the ground. Her natural red glow had all but faded by now until her skin only had a reddish tint to it. She hugged her knees to her chest and buried her face in them, crying none too softly. Surely, if Xai followed her (Which she totally would! She had to!) she would hear and see just what her stupidity had done to Evari.

Minutes passed...a half an hour...two hours...

"X-Xai?" Evari whimpered and slowly lifted her head for some sign of the alien woman. Xai? Where was she? Why wasn't she frantically looking for her? Did...did Xai not follow her? Her tear-filled eyes widened and her breath shook as a horrible realization hit her. Oh no...oh no! Xai hadn't followed her! Why?! Why wasn't Xai looking for her?! Could it be that...Xai...didn't want her anymore? That idea made her cry even harder, not even bothering to keep herself hushed. If someone heard her, so what? Maybe they would take her in! She...she knew she wasn't the best child to Xai sometimes. She had her moments, her tantrums. But who didn't? Evari just wanted things to be perfect, to be her way. Did Xai not want her anymore? Was that why she got another kid? Was she replacing Evari?

Evari didn't want Xai to get rid of her! She loved Xai! Xai was...Xai was hers! Her Xai! Hers first and no one could take her away! B-but the way the woman had held and coddled the frightened little girl when Evari ordered her to leave, it hurt. It hurt a lot to see. Xai had never held her that way...granted Evari feared nothing but...it...it wasn't fair! Evari didn't need a sister, why did Xai do this?! How could she betray her like this?! That crying had been so...so pathetic. But for some reason Xai didn't care! If Evari was going to have a sister there was no way she would allow any sister of hers to be a crybaby...

But Evari didn't want a sister! She just wanted Xai! Her Xai! Hers!

"It's not FAAAAAIR!" She screamed into her knees, sobbing. It's not fair, it's not fair, it's not fair!

EVERYTHING IS STUPID!

After a visit to the Curio shop with Luis Xai comes home with a statue. From this statue naturally comes a girl...a new sister for Evari. In a fit of rage and jealousy Evari screams at the frightened deer girl and runs crying from the house until she reaches a park. From there she's found by Kay...who, while being her first friend, just so happens to be the son of the owner of the very shop the new girl originated from...oh dear. Look out, Kay! Smack some sense into that girl!

I HAVE TO DO...WHAT?

Evari was sitting in her room staring at Ted, pouting yet still just staring into his black 'eyes'. They were having a staring contest and so far Ted had won every round. Ted always won these staring contests, it was kind of lame...but then it must have been hard to blink when one's eyes were painted on. She had been in here all day, just being bored. Evari didn't feel like playing with Tyyne, because Tyyne was like Ryan and didn't like to play with her the way she liked to play. Don't climb on her back and ride her like a horse, Evari. Don't tug on her ears to see if they're real, Evari. Marshmallows don't go on the points of Tyyne's antlers, Evari. No, no, no Evari. Kay had said siblings weren't so bad, but Evari was just miserable now.

Eventually Xai came in with a pen and a bright blue book in hand, peeking into the room at first to make sure Evari was in there before stepping in and clearing her throat. "Um...Evari?" Evari's mismatched eyes turned up from Ted to watch the alien in the corner of her eye.

"What?" She grumped, putting Ted on her night stand. Xai frowned.

"I uh...I got you a present." That got her attention. A present? For her? Oooh! Maybe this wasn't so bad after all! She sat up on her bed and looked Xai all over with wide eyes, waiting expectantly for something awesome. Instead, Xai held out the book and the pen. Evari blinked. The heck? A book? That...that was lame! Evari didn't want a stupid book! Sensing her agitation and disappointment Xai quickly stepped closer and held the book open, flipping through the pages. All the pages were blank, and blue with rainbow dot splatters scattered over each page. Alright so...maybe it wasn't so bad. "I hear that if you write things down it helps with your memory. And not only that it is...like therapy? It is better to let things out in a good way than to...freak out and run away from home..."

Evari frowned and swayed a little, her gaze turning down to her lap. "Said I was sorry."

"I...I know but...please? Even if you only do it once...or even if all you do is draw pictures or scribbles...you could write about things that you like." Xai looked hopeful, almost pleading. Evari looked up at Xai and sighed, taking the pen and the book with a skeptical look. She'd try it...once. Xai smiled. "Just try to have fun."

"Yeah, yeah." Evari waved dismissively as Xai's sign that she could leave, and so she left with a smile. She waited until the door was closed before she rolled onto her stomach and opened the book to the first page, chewing on the end of the pen. So...what? She just wrote stuff? Well...okay.

Xai's making me do this. Says that after my fit the
other day I gotta write stuff down. Don't no why just
gotta. I think it's dumb. I have a sister now. Her name
is Tin teen tynne tyyne she has a weird name. I still
don't want a sister but Xai says its ok. Kay said it's
ok too. I don't like it though because she's boring.
She won't PLAY with me! When I try to she gets all weird
and stuff. I don't like her.
But Xai sed said I shuld rite about things I do like.
Um I like colors? And musik musek music! I met this
girl named roksy an she told me about this relly cool
singer! And my best frend Faris. She's like ROCKS! An
kay is fun. He's bigger than me! And he's really nice.
I met this girl named Pogo! SHE COMES APART AND
STUFF! Lots of people are cool. Ecsept one. I don't
like Rian. He cried to much. And he doesn't no how to
play. And he tried to take my fireworks! Theyre mine! He
can't have them.

I dont wanna do this any more. This is stupid. I'm
gonna go play now with Ted!
Byebye!

TRUCE?

Now this was a pleasant surprise! For the past few days Evari had done nothing but mope and sigh and pout and grump about the house, getting especially testy whenever she would see Tyyne. But today she actually felt...happy. She wasn't sure why, it was just something that had happened; Evari had woken up that morning, looked out the window and seen it was a very nice day out, and just felt excited! Grinning, the girl leapt out of bed and quickly threw on some mismatched clothes. She ran out of her bedroom and nearly crashed into Tyyne who'd been also leaving her own room. The deer froze and gasped, staring at Evari with wide eyes. "Um...s-sorry, Evari...I...I was just on my way to the kitchen." Evari blinked. Oh. She was still scared of her, huh? Well that was okay! That just raised Evari's spirits, actually! She grinned and shrugged, patting the girl between her antlers on her head.

"S'cool. Byebye, Tyyney! M'goin' out." Tyyne's ears flicked and she closed her eyes and furrowed her brow as her head was pat, opening one eye to watch Evari skip down the hall toward the front door. She was going out? By herself? Without telling Xai? Ohhh...but...but Xai would be upset if Evari left without saying anything again!

"But Momma will--" Evari waved a hand at her and interrupted Tyyne. "W-well where are you going, Evari?" At that question Evari paused and just stared ahead of her, humming thoughtfully and rubbing at her chin as she turned her gaze up to the ceiling. Where was she going? Evari honestly had no idea! She figured she would just go outside and wander around until she found something to do. She turned back to Tyyne and shrugged.

"I dunno! Just out! Maybe 'round town." That was really all she could give Tyyne! Not to be rude or anything...it was just the truth. Tyyne was far from satisfied by that answer. If Evari didn't know where she was going to go couldn't she just stay home until she thought of a place? Xai was out getting groceries! She'd be so worried if she came home and didn't know where Evari was! No! That was bad!

"Evari wai--" But Evari was already out the door. Tyyne frowned, her ears drooping low on either side of her head and sighing. Darnit, Evari! You were going to get hurt one of these days! Evari didn't seem to care or share Tyyne's thoughts, for she happily skipped along the sidewalk singing loudly. There were people who stopped to stare at the strange little glowing girl skipping and singing at the top of her lungs. That was one strange little girl. Huh.

She continued along until she passed a small floral shop, blinking and stopping in the middle of the sidewalk. There were flowers, small potted trees, seeds for different plants...they were all so pretty! Evari tilted her head a little and walked into the shop, remaining quiet and just looking at all the plants around her. Not only did this place look pretty but it smelled so nice! She'd never seen so many flowers in her life before! Aside from herself there was only one other person in the shop and that was a middle-aged woman currently watering flowers with her back to Evari, wrapped up in her own little world of talking to her babies and not even noticing that she had a potential customer. Evari's eyes were immediately drawn to a cluster of brightly colored flowers, making an awed sound and staring at them with wide eyes glittering with excitement. The sound caught the woman's attention and she turned to see who was in the shop, chuckling and putting down the watering can. "Well hello. Are you here by yourself?" She asked with a warm smile. Evari gasped and whirled around, startled. Gah! She wasn't doing anything! Honest! O-oh...she wasn't yelling at her or anything. Heh. Evari nodded, still a little shaken. "Is there someone you want to buy flowers for?" Buy flowers for? Evari blinked and looked around again. Maybe Faris would like flowers? Or even Kay, an apology for hitting him and insulting his mother and a thank you for dealing with her when she was being such a wussy crybaby? Victoria, perhaps? Pogo...oh but she didn't know where to find Pogo. Roxy? Hmm...

...Tyyne?

Evari shrugged. "Nooooope~." She stated simply, smiling. She didn't have anyone to buy flowers for. Besides, she'd seen how it was done on television, only boys buy flowers and it was only for girls they liked. That was how it worked. Then again, who was Evari to do anything the 'normal' way? The woman nodded.

"Alright. Well if you think of anyone let me know. Feel free to have a look around, if you have any questions just ask away." Evari nodded and wandered around the small flower shop. These flowers were all so pretty! She gasped and jumped away from one when its huge mouth suddenly snapped shut. Whoa! That one looked so scary! She squint her eyes and leaned in as close as she dared to read the little card sticking out of the dirt. Venus fly trap? Huh...so it found a fly? And...it was from Venus? Cool! She didn't know there were plants on Venus! Or flies. That was cool! Evari looked away from it to inspect a pretty stalk of purple flowers. Oooh! Hy...a...cinth?

"What're these?" Evari asked, pointing at the flowers. The woman walked over to see what she was pointing at, smiling again.

"These are purple hyacinths. You would give these to someone to say you're sorry." She explained gently, looking down at the little glowing girl. Evari made a little 'huh' sound and reached out to lightly brush a finger over one of the petals. An apology? Well maybe she could get these for Kay! She sure did have a lot to apologize for! But then there...kind of was someone who deserved an apology, she supposed. Maybe. She frowned a little. "...Would you like one?" The woman asked when she noticed the girl grow slightly melancholy, like she felt guilty about something. Evari looked up at her with that frown and then turned her mismatched eyes to the flowers again, sighing deeply.

She'd been really mean lately, hadn't she? And that girl was so nice. Her...her sister was really nice...and she was just a big brat.

Evari slowly nodded, rubbing at the back of her neck. "Alright." She said gently and pat the girl's head, gently guiding her aside so she could get at the flowers. Evari complied and stood aside obediently, playing with a bit of her hair and standing awkwardly to the side. The woman hummed softly as she picked up a small pot and put one of the purple hyacinth stalks into it, standing and walking with Evari to the counter. "Oh...do you have any money, dear?" She probably should have asked that before she did this. Evari's eyes widened. You had to pay money for these?! Oh no! She didn't have any money on her! Crap! This sucked! She tried to do something nice and she couldn't even...ugh! Not fair! Evari frowned and shook her head, staring at the floor. Darn. Now she couldn't get the flowers; she actually wanted them too! The woman tilted her head and watched the little performance in front of her, sighing and looking down at the flowers. She couldn't very well just...give them to her for nothing. "Tell you what..." Evari blinked and looked up. "I'll give these to you, but you have to promise to come back with the money tomorrow." That made Evari brighten up considerably, grinning and nodding her head. Yes, yes, yes! She'd come back! She really would!

"Okay!" She happily agreed, holding her hands out for the pot and the receipt. The woman chuckled. Hopefully this girl would keep her promise. Evari took the little paper with instructions on how to take care of these flowers and hurried home, wanting so badly to run but she worried if she ran she'd fall and break the flower. Or worse! Kill it! She held the pot carefully in one hand when she finally returned open, opening the door and peeking inside. No sign of Tyyne, no sign of Xai. Awesome. She slowly opened the door some more just enough for her and the flower to slip inside unnoticed, pushing it closed as quietly as she could and quietly making her way back to her room. The glowing girl, while normally incapable of being stealthy thanks to her glowing red skin, was relieved to find all the doors in the hall to her room were closed. No one would spot her too soon. Great! She eventually reached her room and locked herself inside, putting the flower on her bed and opening her nightstand's drawer. With the journal Xai had given her had come a stack of matching post-it notes. They didn't stick, but they were small enough for memos. She grabbed her pen and tore off a little sheet, scribbling a quick note on it and putting her things away.

The pot and the note in hand, Evari snuck out of her own bedroom and to Tyyne's room. She knocked once on the door...no answer. What she didn't realize until she opened it was that Tyyne was in there, except that she was fast asleep and taking a nap. Alright, that was okay. Her heart raced as adrenaline pumped through her, swallowing hard and walking as quietly as she could; Tyyne had very sensitive ears, it probably came with the fact that she was a deer, and she was also an incredibly light sleeper. The moment she was close enough she put the little pot and the note down on the table beside her bed. She left as quickly and quietly as she could, leaving behind the flower and the note.

"That's just stupid. I'm the only one here who knows how to do this."

Please wait...

Confirmed. Welcome, Xaisholimikoki.

Xai sighed and stretched her arms in front of her, then she pressed a lit key on a board on her lap. A strange keyboard lit up on the board.

It's been interesting living on this planet. All the customs are so much different from those on Ursontaea! Even children come to life from the simplest objects! I myself have a daughter from a glove I bought from this lovely woman named Switch! I must say, at first she was a rather sweet child at first; she was a bit odd but she was sweet. But then all of a sudden she just...she became...a MONSTER! She's a brat! She tells me what to do and she yells and screams if she doesn't get her way! I know not all children here are like this! Evari has met many sweet children such as Kay and Faris. Kay is Switch's son and Faris is Luis' daughter. I've made new friends! They're very nce women who don't seem to mind my occasional confusion over things that are said and done, in fact they help me! It helps that Evari likes their children as well. Because I know what happens when she doesn't...she made a little boy cry. We were just riding along on a bus, she saw him and wanted to play. So they did. Though he looked terrified. Somehow she just did SOMETHING and he was a mess. Crying, screaming, I think even she screamed and threw a fit because of it. It was just a huge disaster.

She apparently does hold some kind of attachment for me. Recently Luis and I paid Switch a visit, and decided to have lunch and help clean up the shop! Did you know there's a type of FOOD called Chinese?! It's quite delicious! But I found this deer statue...with no head! So she said I could fix it. I never got the chance! It turned into a child as well! A very sweet young lady I decided to name Tyyne. Evari was FURIOUS. She ran out of the house and didn't come back for hours. Kay brought her home though, but she locked herself in her room and refused to come out.

She seems to be doing better. I don't know what happened but I came home one day and they were sitting on the couch together. Content! No one was screaming, no one was crying...they were just watching television together.

I hope it stays this way! At least for awhile?

WHAT A STRANGE DREAM

Geeze! That took forever! That was the most difficult little pest to entertain ever! Evari suddenly opened her eyes to find herself no longer in that dark, bloody theater. She'd been so tired she just passed right out on the floor but now she was in her room again? Right on the floor, too. Where she'd been when she suddenly got picked up by a bubble out of nowhere. Evari sat up sharply and looked down at herself. No blood. No princess dress. Her clothes weren't burned up! Was...was it all a dream? Furrowing her brow, Evari stood up and walked over to the window to open it and look outside. It had been around noon when she got picked up, and it felt like she'd been in that theater for hours but...but even the clock said it had only been maybe half an hour at best. What?

So...it was a dream...

Evari sighed with relief. What a strange dream! She was surprised a boy had been included in it! At the thought of that boy her jaw clenched and her hand gripped the window's edge tightly, glaring at a blade of grass outside. That boy was so annoying! How could her imagination come up with such an awful person who so rudely showed off and pretended he was better than her?! Evari was the fun one! Evari was the one who knew all the games! Evari was the better one! How...how dare he...! At least it was just a dream; she'd never have to see that boy again. That made her grin. That's right! It was all just a dream, she really had been in control all along and it was proof that boys sucked!

Boys...sucked? Well, some did. The ones she had met for the most part. Except for Kay. Kay was awesome. He even made her stop crying. Evari frowned and leaned over with her arms folded in the window, putting her head on them and staring outside. What a strange dream.
