Two Separate Ways

Ubara nodded his head though the fact it hadn't bitten was a good thing he still looked at it as if he was unsure if the snake could bite it was so tiny. He was gentle though, never grasping or being rough just allowing it to slither from finger to finger.

"Yes...nice..one dat it tis..." He murmured not sure what else to say as his eyes focused on the snake mostly.

There was a rustle in the bushes the sound of Jacobs's muffled curses as he tried to move through them.

"Ubara??" He called out and though you couldn't see the adult yet you could tell he was vaugely coming in their direction.

Hector couldn't help but to purr in a delighted manner as he watched his new friend as he starred at the snake in a manner that seemed quite taken. He leaned forward to rest two hands on his lap before he reached one of the scaled ones out to pat his friend's arm, "Glad you like." He told him before he let the other hands rest on his lap as well, happy with just watching. Ubara looked so different now, looked happy and gentle, and so nice when it came to the snake and he found himself a little jealous of that. He glanced over at Alejo as the eel tail wrapped around him and rested its head on his shoulder. He lifted a hand up to pat his eel tail on the head as if to sooth it. The tail was a little jealous of the small snake since Ubara went from liking it to liking that snake better.

Hectors ears turned first and then his head as well as that of Alejo turned toward the sound of the voice. It was the voice of that man that was with Ubara earlier. His ears flicked a little before he turned back to looking at his friend and gave him a little smile, "Your Daddy coming." He told Ubara, sounding a little put out by the idea that he was coming to ruin their good time now that Ubara finally seemed to be liking him.

Ubara looked up as if from a daze and looked around as if expecting Jacob to be right in front of him. He didn't normally call Jacob daddy. It normally was just Jacob,

"Hnnh?" He murmured looking around straightening his back somewhat as he then noticed the bushes rustling. His eyes narrowed at the sight and he moved the snake close to his chest.

Jacob stumbled upon the pair and breathed a sigh of relief finding the one was unharmed and Ubara just sitting on the ground.

"They are over here!" He called out to Hectors mother.

Rosa moved forward as quickly as she could and vowed to herself that she would never come to a park again in heels and a skirt, made things far more difficult then they should be. She gave a squeak sound as she stumbled and landed against Jacob as her food tangled in some of the heavy underbrush. She leaned into him for a moment then chuckled, "Phew... lucky..." She murmured, last thing she wanted was to fall in things place as she would get all scraped up. She rested her hands on his shoulders and pushed back off of him, looking over his shoulder to where the boys were. The two were... in a good shape, in fact the Troll boy hadn't done anything to Hector which flooded her with relief, "Oh, good... good... hes alright."

Hector looked up at his Mother as she made her very ungraceful appearance and he couldn't help but to giggle, normally she was far more fluid then that, the way she walked was without missing a step and always very pretty. Seeing her trip was shocking to him but at the same time amusing. The chimera boy turned to look at Ubara, giving him a smile, "Can go zoo sometime? You show me big snake?" He asked of his friend, he had a feeling that their parents meant to take them home just from the looks on their faces which was a shame. he wanted to stay longer and play but... best to follow his Mommy now and maybe he and Ubara could play more later.

Jacob gave an oooff as Rosa landed on him, he was lucky his own footing wasn't too horrid otherwise he probably would of gone face first into the earth. He looked over his shoulder giving the woman an apologetic smile but he was glad that they had managed to find their kids unscathed.

Ubara only snorted a bit at Rosa's appearance and his 'father' of sorts. he looked to Hector when he asked about going to the zoo sometime to see the big snakes. He looked back to Jacob and then back to Hector. He thought on it hard, did he really want to see Hector again? He gave a slow nod, any excuse to see the snakes really.

"Kay," he replied.

Hector started to clap all of his hands together in an excited manner, "Yes! Yes!" He chirped, sounding as though Ubara agreeing to go to the zoo with him sometime was the best thing ever. A soft squeak sound escaped his lips as he found himself swept up into the arms of his mother. He looked up at her before he lifted up to nuzzle against her cheek in a manner similar to kitten before he looked back at Ubara, smiling, "Go zoo soon, friend. Ok?"

Rosa blinked, looking down at her son for a long moment before she turned her gaze to looking over at Jacob watching him. After a moment she gave a nod, retrieving a business card for Dream from where it was tucked away in her shirt. It had the number of the place, her personal number, as well as the address for the place on it. She held it out to him and winked, "Here you are, we can see about setting up this meeting." She murmured.

Jacob scrambled to take the card he didn't sweep Ubara up as he knew it would end up with him getting tusked, but he noticed that Ubara didn't protest when Hector was removed from his vicinity...though he did stiffen when Jacob moved closer. Great...he had a snake in his hands...wonderful trying to get him to let it go will be like raging war.

"Uh..thank you...and if Hector and Ubara want to I don't see why they can't go to the zoo. I work there." he explained.

"I look forward to it then and I am sure Hector and Alejo do as well, just call when your ready for us to some and meet with you." She said, shifting her son to resting on one of her hips, "If you like you can come and visit me at my job as well, darling." She gave him a wink before turning to glance the way that she had come from, "Ahh, and now the fun that is trying to make our way back." There were days she wondered if perhaps she could get a harness and leash for her son, it would keep him from wandering off and getting lost but even if he looked like a mish mash or random animals he was still her boy.

Jacob nodded his head and then shifted on the spot wondering if there really would be a next time. Rosa didn't seem so impressed with how Ubara had reacted towards her son...not that he blamed her for acting that way.

"Yes, I am sure Ubara and I will look forward to that..." He mused as he looked back to there they had come from.

"best foot forward?" He inquired as he gently prodded the troll boy to get up and move.

Rosa gave a wave and started forward in that 'best foot forward' manner that Jacob had suggested, "Fair well, gentlemen." She said, waving a hand. She was more then happy to be on her way and while there was the chance of another meeting with them in the future she was glad to be going now while that Troll boy was still in a good mood. She was in a better mood, back to flirting even now that Hector was back in her arms and now that the tense meeting was over.

Hector waved all of his hands rapidly at Ubara and Jacob, wanting to meet with them again sometime soon to go to the zoo to meet with the monster snake that his friend had told him about. He gave a purr as he looked up at his Mom, "He nice." He said, seeming to have forgotten already all about the fact that the Troll had tried attacking him earlier.

A Day or So Later

It bothered her greatly when she thought about it, how easily Hector had let it go that the older boy had been rather willing and able to beat him up in the park. In fact since they came home he was talking about going to the zoo and meeting up with Ubara and the monster snake that he was told lived there. The woman wasn't so sure what she thought about it, sure she had agreed to the meeting between the boys, she had even given Jacob her card but still she half hoped that the man never called. Better that the boys remain apart, after all Ubara didn't seem exactly... stable to her and she feared for the safety of her son. Maybe if he were bigger, older, and less trusting she would be more inclined to allow them near each other since it meant that Hector would better be able to defend himself. As it was now it was a rather unfair fight... though would it exactly be fair when Hector was older? He would have an extra set of arms in which to use in the battle and he had Alejo and the eel's electric shock ability.

A bit of a sigh escaped from her lips and she turned to glance over at the boy who was currently working on a drawing with his crayons. He gave a little giggling sound as he colored making lots of various, brightly colored snakes. It made it easier for him as he four arms and could do four colors at once. One had was in charge of the snakes themselves, one did the tongues, one did the eyes, and the last one was for trading out the crayons he was using for other colors. His current fascination for snakes seemed to stem from the fact that his 'new friend' as Ubara had been dubbed seemed to like them so much. She could only hope that in the end he wouldn't end up getting his hopes up to high only to have them shot down when the troll boy got in a bad mood again.

The unicorn like woman walked over to settle down next to her son, one had moving to stroke over his chocolate brown hair, "Your a good boy, Hector." She murmured, only seeing all of his good point, having yet to learn about the fact that he had snatched a piece of her jewelry. She had so much of it, most of it gifts from various customers, so having one piece go missing wasn't something that she would notice right away or for a long while.

The chimera boy lifted his gaze to watch his mother for a long moment before he gave a smile showing many sharp teeth before he lifted his current drawing up to show it off to her, "See? See? Snakes!" He chirped in a happy manner, ears twitching happily. He liked the fact that his friend seemed to like snakes because it meant that he would be able to draw a picture for him more easily then if he were fascinated by something with legs or wings. Snakes were easy to draw since they were simply put together being, on top of that they were also brightly colored so they were fun to draw on top of it. He looked the drawing over before giving a sigh, he wished he could send the drawing to Ubara he thought to himself as he looked at the back of the paper.

Rosalind looked the picture over for a long moment before forcing a smile to form on her lips, "It looks quite nice." She told her boy, not wanting him to figure out what her mood really was at the moment. After all her sour moods shouldn't be known to her son, he was so sweet after all that it would just stress him out to know that his mother wanted both him and herself to have nothing to do with the crazy troll boy, Ubara, "How about we clean up the crayon mess and get you ready for a bath, sound good?"

Hector's eyes got wide as did those of Alejo, a moment later the pair were on their feet to dash off as though their lives depended on it. Instead of fleeing from the bath though they were rushing head long toward it, nothing better then getting to play around in the massive tub that his mother had in her bathroom. Given his size currently it was almost like a swimming pool!

Rosalind gave a chuckle, "One of few kids that likes baths..." She murmured to herself, pushing to her feet before following after him. They would pick up the coloring mess later she figured since the boy was so eager to play in the tub she wouldn't make him go all the way back just to clean up some crayons.

Sleep

Daz was always a quiet child, not one that asked for anything and not one that needed much. He was helpful and quick to do any chore that was asked of him in a snap, it was as though he were born to serve others and due to that the women of Dream seemed to get used to his presence. He was always there for them, always helping out, always a sweet boy with a kind heart. Its why that fateful day that they were all taken by surprise. The lovely colors of the boys hair had seemed a bit faded when he woke up and he appeared to be rather sluggish as well, something about him just seemed off and everyone had crowded around him, caring for him in a manner that he was unused to and embarrassed by as well. He didn't understand the idea of being cared for instead of doing the caring himself. He quite... enjoyed the feeling, to have people loving him, holding him, and helping him.

His condition quickly worsened, he slipped into a deep and somewhat restless sleep and he was taken quickly from the Hostess Bar and to the nearby hospital. The doctors seemed stumped, as though they had no idea how to treat what was wrong with him, they weren't even sure what it was that he was suffering from. His coloring had faded even more as the doctors ran tests going from a muted rainbow of colors to just gray tone, to him looking almost white all over before his body seemed to crumble away like sand. It was a shock to all those around him as he reverted back to that beautiful necklace that he had been to begin with, only this time around Rosa couldn't sense a strength to the soul within the piece of jewelry. It was faded, as though he were sleeping deeply, his body had waned away without a fellow Tison God to serve as was his place in the world.

Daz, the Empowerment God of Tison, had vanished away before he could really even begin to live his young life.

Rosa was thrown by what had happened, left in a bit of a daze, while Hector didn't seem to really understand what was going on. All he knew was what he was told, that his brother had to sleep and that he was inside the necklace doing that. The chimera child had taken to watching the necklace while his mother recovered from her shock. Daz was sleeping, huh? He wondered what it would take to wake him up... he looked over to where his mother was resting and then to the necklace, to Rosa, and back again. He reached up to run his many hands over the surface of the jewel in a gentle manner before picking it up and pet it gently. He would figure it out he said, promising himself and Daz silently before he left the room with the necklace cradled in his many hands. It wasn't the first necklace he'd pilfered and likely wouldn't be the last.

He wasn't sure why but if there was something he was good at it was stealing things without being noticed. It was as though he'd come equipped with the skills needed to be a master thief. For the moment old memories from when he was Lycurgus were still sealed away behind Hector's new memories. Though while he didn't remember in detail who and what he was her skills were still present and seemed almost innate.

Again?

Hector woke to a somewhat uncomfortable but familiar sensation, finding himself in clothing that was several sizes to small and he'd swear that this wasn't the first time he'd experienced something like this. He gave a little groaning sound as he sat up, looking around before looking down at his clothing and from there he looked at his hands, "Hrm...?" This was interesting, he felt... bigger! Better and a part of him was pleased with this, as though he realized that growing was leading him toward rediscovering a part of himself that he'd lost.

How he'd lost it was well beyond his understanding though given the fact that as far as he could remember he was Hector and nobody else. The crash landing the ship had taken that had brought him to Gaia had knocked him a bit silly and he'd seemed to have lost all of his previous memories of when he was Lycurgus. Now and again he would get a rush of inspiration that was all hers though, to do things that Hector would otherwise never think of doing completely on his own. Anytime that he'd stolen anything was due to something inside of him telling him that he should. It was why he often got food meant for the guests through snatching it while it was still in the kitchen, it was why he had his mother's emerald necklace, and it was why he had the necklace that once belonged to Daz. One of the necklaces he wore all the time, the emerald one, as there was a part of him that wanted to wear pretty things though he didn't exactly know why. The other necklace was hidden safely away in his room because he felt the overwhelming need to protect it!

Hector rolled out of bed and over Alejo much to the eel's dislike and the moment he was on his own two feet all of his hands set to work shedding the to tight clothing he was wearing, tossing it over his shoulder before he went padding over to the door to peek out of it. Alright, time to find himself something that fit better and without being seen.

"What are you doing?" Alejo asked of the rest of Hector.

One of Hector's ears gave a twitch before turning to look at his tail in a wide eyed manner and the tail was starring back in a rather shocked manner itself, as though realizing that it had spoke. The pair starred at one another for the longest time before Hector waved it off with one of his scaly hands, "We are going to find clothing that fits." He told his tail, as though talking to that part of himself was a completely normal thing even if he thought it more then a little strange. He wondered when it was that Alejo had set to talking... Oh well, he would worry about the new trick later, for now he had to find something to wear!

It seemed that this would be another of those times where he just seemed to know what to do, where to go, exactly when he needed to duck behind something to keep from being noticed. It was like being... a covert spy! Or a ninja! Either of which sounded like fun to any young boy who was excelling at sneaking about despite the fact that their body wasn't exactly build for sneaking. With all the many limbs and bright colors one would think it would be a little harder to do so, especially since Alejo seemed to be sparking and crackling and glowing with energy at the moment. It was as though that part of him were on high alert to give out a shock were it necessary to the completion of the mission. Not that he thought his tail should be tazing anyone that lived and worked here. Now some of the men on the other hand deserved it. Luckily they had a good bodyguard that could be trusted to grab those men and throw them out. Hector had seen the man at work on plenty of occasions and he found him to be quite interesting.

Hector slipped into his mother's room from the hallway, looked around the area, and was pleased to find that she wasn't in her room at the moment. He closed the door after himself and hurried over to her dresser and set to work rifling through it, looking for something to wear. It was a bit of a pain given the differences in their body types and the fact that he had a set of arms that Rosalind was lacking. He finally found a shirt that he hoped would work, pulled it on, then poked at the inside of the shirt with his extra hands before sighing, "Well... it will have to work for now." He said, crossing that pair of arms across his chest and headed out in search of his mother now that he was at least somewhat properly dressed.

Look Mom! Look!

Rosalind was sitting with a customer, one of the rare ones that she took on anymore since most of her time was taken up being the Madame these days. She was actually having a rather pleasant conversation with the man, a rather young one and one who had never come to a place like this before if his behavior was any indication. She would have been fine with continueing on as they were but her attention was drawn suddenly toward the sound of giggling, not just one of her girls but quite a few of tem were laughing over... something.

"I wonder what they are doing." Rosa murmured to herself, doing her best not to be distracted away from the customer she was sitting with... until he to started to laugh.

"I didn't know you had... someone like that here." He said, lifting a hand to smother laughter.

Rosa starred at him for a moment before finally turning to look in the direction everyone else was and her eyes went wide as she saw her... son. He was bigger then he was when she had put him to bed earlier, on top of that he was dressed... in the manner that a drag queen might do. The woman lifted a hand to rub it against her face, "At least hes wearing something." She muttered to herself before rising to her feet, "If you will excuse me for just one moment, Derek, I need to help my son... it looks like he must have gotten bored and decided to play dress up."

She rose to her feet in as dignified a manner as possible and headed over to where the chimera boy was standing. She scooped him up and hurried out of the main room, a flush on her cheeks, "Hector, you know your not supposed to come out into this area when people are working!" She scolded him, "And you... really shouldn't get into my dresser either." She told him as they headed back to his room.

"But my cloths don't fit anymore!" Hector said, ears laying back against his head in a frustrated manner. He knew all the rules of this place but he had needed her help! It wasn't his fault that the only clothing he had access to that was of bigger sizes was female clothing! He was pouting all the while as they returned back to his room and he was placed on his bed, "I needed to borrow your shirt."

She looked him over and gave a little sigh, "Even so... I would rather you have waited for me in my room instead of going out there, I was working Hector." She murmured giving him a pat on the head to sooth the boy.

Instead Hector just seemed to pout that much more over the fact that he was in trouble for looking for her. It wasn't his fault that he wanted to see her after the new changes that he had gone through while he was sleeping! He gave a little grumbling sound before he flopped over onto his back and then rolled onto his side to face away from her, "Fine, I will stay here." He said with a sigh.

The woman smiled, leaning over to give him a little kiss on the cheek, "We can talk more in the morning when you wake up and I am no longer working." She told him, ruffling his hair before she got up to head out of his room.

The chimera boy gave a grumbling sound, "She is no fun when she is working." He said in a grumbling tone of voice.

"I agree." Alejo said, having stayed pretty well silent until now as he saw no reason to pipe up about what was being said between Hector and Rosa.

"Hrm... guess we are stuck here until morning, might as well try to get some sleep." He said as he forced his eyes to and did his best to get himself to go back to sleep, something that proved to be exceedingly difficult. He really hated night time, his mother was always so boring and overly serious at that time. During the day after she'd gotten some sleep and wasn't on the clock she was much nicer!

Journal Entry

It seems Momma wants me to write in this thing... Wonder why. Something about my handwriting being atrocious.

Hehe, I didn't know what that word means until I asked one of the girls to help me spell it though... I guess it means bad.

Yeah, it is just look at it... hahahaha. Looks like chicken scratch I was told. She helped me to spell that out right as well. I guess if I keep writing in this thing I will be made to have better hand writing? Seems like a stretch to me.

I would rather be doing something ANYTHING else...

I want a pet but I can't get one, Momma says I already have Alejo so why get a pet. Not nice, Alejo isn't a pet, hes my tail. Besides I would rather have a cat. Or a dog. Maybe a bird. I would ask for a tiger if I thought Momma would get it for me. I have the feeling she wouldn't even get me a fish.

hahaha... Alejo peeked at what I was writing and he bit me for saying I would rather have a pet then him, now hes all huffy and ignoring me. My tail is a brat! Ah well... I guess I will try to make him feel better, a snack will probably help.

Did I write enough I wonder? I hope so... this is boring, there are better things to do then write. I will sign off on this and make my escape now. See you later journal. Much, much, much later if we are all lucky,

~ Hector

The journal was left laying open, pen dropped on the ground in front of the table as he made his retreat toward the doors that would lead to the back rooms of Dream and if he were lucky he would be forgotten as his Mother was busy with the chores that had to be done before the clubbed opened up.

So, how do I look?

There was something extremely... well... disconcerting about waking up in this manner from time to time, having grown, having clothing that suddenly no longer fit him, such a pain really. He shifted and kicked out of what he was wearing, stumbled off the bed, then padded across the room where he had a bathrobe hanging. After the last time that this had happened his mother had gotten it for him, hanging it in his room, and told him to wear it when such a growth spurt happened again. She seemed certain that it would happen again since it was something he'd already gone through on number occasions already. He pulled the item on, tied it in place, then looked back at Alejo to get a look at him, "So how do I look?" He asked, lifting a hand up to push his fingers through his hair, realizing that it felt much longer now, and awaited the thoughts of the eel.

Alejo seemed to think on it for a long moment, head cocking to one side, then the eel seemed to given a slight shrug of his body, "Same as usual, that same dumb look ever present on your face, only now your taller." He said, grinning away as he teased Hector, seeming greatly amused by the put out look that he was given by his other 'half'.

Hector's tall ears gave a twitch before he stuck his tongue out at Alejo, "Your such a jerk, Alejo." He told the eel, giving the creature a poke since its shocks didn't work as well against Hector as it did everyone else since they were one in the same. From time to time he had to take a few shocks just to help the eel discharge energy and keep him from doing so at other people, never a way to go about making friends that was for sure. When Alejo merely continued to grin instead of reacting to him calling the eel a jerk he gave a grumble and walked over to the full length mirror that was in his room, he wasn't sure why but he'd always enjoyed preening in front of it, and here he was doing so again.

"I think I look good." He said, taking on a couple of poses, "Wonder if I am cute enough for the girls in the shop." He mused, not that he had a lot of interest in them since he had grown up around them but it was still a thought, if they thought him cute then their votes should out weigh that of Alejo right? He should need to go and see he thought to himself. He lifted his hands up, running his fingers through his hair which felt much longer then it had been and yet it still felt to short, "I need to grow out my hair." He wasn't sure but there were times when he looked in the mirror he felt as though his reflection was a bit... off, as though something about it was distorted, as to what that was he was at a bit of a loss. He gave a shrug then turned to look at Alejo, "I think the robe should work as a mode of dress, I am gonna go find Mom or the girls not working to see what they think."

Alejo seemed to puff up a bit, starting to glow a little as he gathered energy into himself, not seeming terribly interested in the idea of going off to find a bunch of people to show off for... but it wasn't his choice since he wasn't in charge of the legs and soon enough they were on their way out of the room at a quick pace. What a pain... why he had to go and show off was beyond the eel's understanding.
