iluvSokka46 i hated him as jasper in twilight...he was so awkward...but as SOKKA? Was Jasper not a bit awkward? Did I miss something in Twilight? Was the script calling for something else? Jasper =/= Sokka. Not meant to offend.

I don't know at all about the others, but come on people! Jesse McCartney as ZUKO?! I am a fan of both of them, but it's just not natural. Jesse's music (at least as Beautiful Soul and Because You Live go) shows him as a laid-back, popstar-ish pretty boy. Zuko is a badass, tough-as-nails Fire Nation prince, complete with honor issues and the occasional angst fit.
Honestly Mr. Shyamalan, WTF is wrong with this picture? (If he answers nothing at all, I invite everyone in this guild to join me in slapping him senseless.)

iluvSokka46 OMG i am sooo freakin pissed at the cast they picked. really? Jackson Rathborne for SOKKA?!?!?!?!they could have done sooooo much better...like 1000000000000% better!!! i hated him as jasper in twilight...he was so awkward...but as SOKKA? ...and jesse mccartney as zuko is the stupidest thing ever. probably as stupid if not more than the casting for sokka. stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed stressed Well...If you consider that the actor is a different person then the part he is asked to play, then I can see that working. If you've ever seen the guy in interviews, he's a very charming and lively person. I think he could do very well as Sokka. And you must also consider that he has done more then just Twilight. Jasper Hale is not the definition of his career. Just the most noticeable part.

Zuko Sozin I haven't seen any of the Katara girl's movies so I don't know about her. Or Aang. I'd be very surprised if you'd seen anything with Aang. I heard he was discovered in the open casting call. It's one thing to be unknown. When they say you were discovered somewhere, that means IMDB doesn't even have a reason to give you an entry beyond what they casted you as when they hired you.

EvilAuthor Michiru_Craven Sweetheart, it's open casting call. Not really their fault that the majority of the unknowns can't act. And the majority of the auditioning already knowns are white. It happens. And as for the twilight boy (Jackson), he was an 'unknown' until this year, though he's been in shows and movies. Hm. You need to work with who comes in. If white kids are the only ones who audition, you get an all white cast. That happened a lot when I did theater. In our rendition of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge was a ginger guy, his sister was the god awful pale with really dark hair. Scrooge's nephew? A black guy. Why? Because he was the best for the part. That's how those things work. But that's what I mean. It seems like with an open casting call for a big-ish budget movie, you would be able to get lots of nonwhite talented actors. It just feels like they just grabbed the first good actors who auditioned, when they had the power to be a little more specific. But I don't really know. We'll have to wait and see.
