The female doll, having gotten tired of trying to fight without actually hurting the other doll, set her sights on Fulgrim. Dropping her sickles, she ran over to the man and clamored onto his shoulder. The other doll, upset by loss of his sparring partner, dropped his weapons and ran over to Fulgrim and clamored up to his head where he began to tug at his hair. "You stupid dolls!" came Illyena's voice, who quickly ran over to her dolls an snatched up the one who was pulling Fulgrim's hair. She shook the doll violently, and when she stopped the doll was completely limp, now having returned to it's inanimate state. "Sorry." Illyena said, tossing the doll over the shoulder.

"Well, I'll put in a good word for you next time. The thing is lots of people here see you as just another normal human, they really don't think you're up to par." He flashed a smile, before continuing and standing up and taking a few steps into the kitchen before to close the distance between them.
"But all of the ones who can't see your worth to this organization, they won't last long, we may be the next step in human evolution, but that doesn't make us inherently superior, only those who are strong, and smart and deserving will be superior, the pigheaded fools like them, a smart one like you is..."
He was cutoff by a pair of dolls climbing onto him, initially he was confused and tried to shake it off, but within a few moments he realized what they were, and grinned as they clambered all over him

The coffee grinder was gone, and Devin hoped that none of the employees would notice its absence. Of course the minute they attempted to make coffee, most likely for themselves, it wouldn't be there for their usage. Instead, now there was an extra fork, that when found, people would wonder how it came into being. Devin hoped that no one would notice the disappearance of the coffee grinder until morning, when they would all assume that someone stole it, though for what purpose, who knew? The manager would know, and Devin trusted him to keep his little secret from the rest of the employees.
Life was hard as a mutant, particularly if you had Devin's mutation. With the help of Pacis Salus, he had learned to control what matter he copied, although it was still hard to handle at times. Like if he fell over, and grabbed at something, like a table, then hit the floor with the same hand. Voila, a new table. Maybe I should become a business man. Then I could sell rare pieces of art, or furniture to people. Devin thought with a slight smirk. But that wasn't what he wanted. You could say that he was happy with his life, unlike Tess, who was now locked up or worse. Devin didn't agree with the way the case had turned out, but he didn't want to get himself into a mess. Well, maybe Tess was innocent, maybe he wasn't. Or maybe he just wants to think that he is.
With a slightly glum expression, Devin carefully picked up the new fork, still cautious, although he now knew that he could create anything more out of that. Looking around surriptitiously, he dropped the fork in a basin of less than savory water, hoping that no one would notice the extra peice of silver ware that had appeared into the sink.

Candice set Matthew down when they entered the park and sat down on a bench. She removed a film canister and loaded it into her camera. After she finished she looked up, terror filled her body when she realized he was missing. "Matthew!?" She stood up and looked around in a panic. "W-where are you!?" Candice's wide eyes traveled over to the fountain where he was splashing and laughing. "Matthew...." She ran over and pulled him from the fountain and hugged his wet body. "You worried me, don't run away again okay?" She murmured setting him down Candice removed a towel from her bag and put it over his head. She saw a familiar face out of the corner of her eyes and turned around. "Heh! William?" Is, that you?" Candice pulled Matthew up into her arms and walked over smiling.

Logan nodded with a sigh, before pulling out a voice recorder. When he knew he didn't want to keep information in his head, but knew that they would need it, he would record his findings and then forget them. "Nicola Erwin, Attacked and killed.. blow to the head, first..." he went off into low murmurings as he followed Hulliame down. He finished just as he got to his car, and then he headed back to HQ to work on paperwork he would need to turn in to make sure information was confirmed, and such. He forgot the pain of the woman's death as he drove, and was more relaxed when he arrived back at his office.
Mal watched Fulgrim as he spoke, her irritation at being bored disappearing a little, and she even became amused as the puppets climbed onto him, smiling slightly up at him. She shook her head lightly and rolled her eyes before taking a bite of her food. "If you go around telling every human you see that, Fulgrim, the higher-ups won't like you as much." she teased, then looked over to Illyena for a moment, before shrugging to herself and eating her food.

As he munched on his lunch, a little boy charged into the fountain and jumped around in it, disrupting the peaceful atmosphere and halting the trumpet playing teenager, who was shocked at the child's playful interruption.
The woman who ran to stop the boy called the lad "Matthew." Will caught a glimpse of her face, and he blinked. His thoughts were confirmed by the lady's response, and his stoic expression turned into one of amusement. "Indeed it is. Candice, is it not? Fancy meeting you here."
Candice had a child? Will hadn't really talked to Candice that much after high school, so this was news.

She smiled and sat down next to him holding Matthew in her arms. "Not really fancy, but it's nice. You don't know how happy I am to see you Will. -Oh! This is my son Matthew." She smiled pulling the towel off him. The young boy looked exactly like Candice. "What have you been up to?" Her voice was a lot quieter and softer than it used to be and she sounded like a different person. She was a lot calmer and less hyper. Her black hair swayed and she smiled putting her hand on Matthew's head.

"The higher ups don't like anyone that doesn't act like their slaves." Illyena said. Not being extremely high up herself, she had no problem insulting the, at least privately. "Is it just me or is this day slower than usual?" she asked absentmindedly. The female doll continue to play around on Fulgrim's shoulder, now confident her actions wouldn't get her in trouble since Fulgrim didn't seem to mind.

Candice's calmness did stand out to Will. He still remembered how in Pacis, the girl was seemingly bouncing off walls. He supposed age had matured most. He himself was included. Maturity and sincerity varied from person to person though. Unfortunately, unlike Candice, Will still retained most of his younger personality.
"Oh?" Will grinned. Happy? And whatever does that mean? "Gee, Candice. He's cute," the musician commented. "He's a male version of mini-you." Will attempted to pat Matthew on the head.
Seeing Candice and her son made Will curious and what Candice had gone through between now and the last time he saw her.
Another thought popped into his head that ruffling his hair hadn't changed his appearance that much if Candice had recognized him after so long.
"The usual, I suppose," Will answered in response to Candice. "I'm a traveling musician. I'm actually here for a performance later this week. You?"

She laughed at Will's comment and nodded to Will. "Yeah, he looks like me but everyone says he acts more like his father." Candice reached her hand out to stop Will but it was too late. Matthew opened his mouth and bit down on his hand. "Matthew Curtis Tyler don't bite people!" She lightly hit his forehead and pulled him away. "Except for biting." She laughed smiling at Will. "Sorry." She looked up and nodded. "I am a photographer for a news paper, and a local magazine. And I finally got my own home, but Matthew lives with my mother."He really hasn't changed, they say people change with the seasons, so I guess William is stuck in the summer, he looks different, but besides that, he's exactly like he was ten years ago. I wonder what he is up to?

"It's not all of them that are like that, just the puppets, the ones who follow the will of their underlings who demand zealotry, they think by indulging them they'll stay in power, but really all it's doing is hurting our cause and weakening this organization." He let out a sigh and continued on to answering her question. "Yeah, it's been slow, but it almost seems as one of theose calm before the storm kinda slows, like something big is gonna go down and we'll have no idea until it's way to late... I think there's something more than simple talks happening in those meeting rooms"

"Well then I hope the storm comes soon; I can't take much more of this boredom, and neither can my puppets." Illyena said. Her puppet gave a nod. "And let's hope the storm is in our favor." she added with a small smile. She truly was tired of the lack of things to do, and she was hoping Fulgrim was right. She eyed the two for a moment before she continued talking, "While we're waiting through the calm, do you have any ideal as to what we could do to pass the time?"

Will struggled to contain his surprise as Matthew bit his hand. Will normally got along with children, but apparently this time, it was different... unless a bite was Matthew's typical way of greeting others. "... I see.... whoa there, little guy." Will withdrew his hand and noticed that there were now faint teeth marks on it. I wonder who his father is, if he bites people too! Ha, probably not...
Will nodded and smiled to Candice. "You sound happy that it's working out. Photographer? Sounds fun. Catch anything interesting?"

Candice pulled her hand back onto her lap and let go of Matthew. He jumped up onto the ridge of the stone fountain and climbed in splashing around. She kept her eyes on him to make sure he didn't fall in face first or get hurt. "Well, once I thought I caught a flying saucer, but it was acctually a piece of gum." Her eyes shut as she smiled and nodded. "Things aren't that happy though, it's acctually been pretty hard lately since Matthew's father left? But, ya know, seeing you made me happy. I really love running into friends from the past, oh that reminds me! Are you... Still gay?" She laughed putting her hand on her stomach. Her laugh was still the same, high pitched and squeaky, it didn't match her voice.

Well, Candice's laugh hasn't changed, Will thought relieved that the girl hadn't made a full 180 degree personality change. However, Will felt some remorse for his former classmate when she mentioned that the father had left. At least, she still tried to maintain a happy demeanor. Was saying that she was happy meeting classmates a cover up? But it was nostalgic meeting former classmates. He was here to meet them as an excuse since he was going to be performing anyway.
Will chuckled lamely. "Well, Candice, I see you aren't!" He sighed and decided to add on a straight answer with a smirk. "It depends, Candice, and I'm still single!"
The teen trumpeter had now given up playing with Matthew splashing happily in the fountain, and so there was no longer any music in the atmosphere.
